Best Workout App on the Market

Caliber is an excellent choice for workouts. Whether your goal is to lose weight or build muscle, Caliber provides the user with science backed workouts and lessons that help users understand certain things about working out. Not to mention, there are a plethora of workouts on CaliberStrengthTraining complete with descriptions, demonstrations, and a way to accurately track your progress. I have been using caliber for two months now and I am already seeing progress in my body composition. Also, CaliberStrengthTraining is completely free to use. The only micro transaction in CaliberStrengthTraining is if you want to be paired with a fitness coach, then you must pay. CaliberStrengthTraining is great for beginners as it constructs workouts based on your equipment and experience. I often went to the gym and had no idea what I was doing, but with Caliber, it has put me on a path that has already shown progress. CaliberStrengthTraining is far better than other workout apps such as Nike Training Club. I recommend CaliberStrengthTraining to everyone!

Great personalized coaching that works w/ my schedule

If you're looking for help getting started working out or need help being held accountable I highly recommend Caliber’s coaching service.

Ive started and stopped working out probably a hundred times. Every time I started going to the gym, a month in, Life would do its thing and my routine would end up falling apart. Even at the gym I never really felt like I was doing the best exercises for me, I just did things I knew how to do and nothing new. I started to look for different training options and came across Caliber, I knew of CaliberStrengthTraining already but didn’t know they had a coaching service. I figured I’d give it a try for a couple of months and see how I liked it.

I live in a high cost of living area so while some people may say coaching is expensive it’s actually much much cheaper for me. A single in person session where I live averages $80.

My trainer, Brent is awesome! I have a hectic schedule that’s always changing. He has adjusted my workouts and workout schedule for every bump in the road. He checks in multiple times a week to make sure I don’t have any questions, see how I'm feeling physically, and of course makes sure I'm actually working out!

In my opinion the hardest part of eating healthy and getting proper exercise is all of the planning. Brent has eliminated pretty much all of that, all I have to do is actually lift some weights.

Best way I’ve found to workout!

Great app! I’ve always wanted to workout but never made time for it and didn’t really know what to do when I did make time, so when I saw someone talk about CaliberStrengthTraining on Reddit I figured why not give it a try it. I downloaded CaliberStrengthTraining and got through setting up CaliberStrengthTraining it was super easy and it was nice you could pick what kind of equipment you had to use and they plan workouts for you depending on what you have. In each workout they have a video of how to do it and an explanation on how to do it right wich I enjoy and often reference working out since I’m new to these exercises. I love that it tracks my progress and shows when I meet new personal records and shows my history of previous workouts it helps me track and see my progress and it helps me out a lot motivating me and showing me my progress I love CaliberStrengthTraining and have recommended to a lot of friends and family!

Extremely Satisfied

I’m in my early 30’s and consider myself in decent shape. Still, I’ve been doing the same strength training routine in the gym for years and haven’t been able to get to that “next level.” My weight and strength have plateaued, and nothing I do myself seems to work. I’ve tried group fitness classes which are fun, but they haven’t lead to real results. Personal trainers on a regular basis are simply out of my price range.

I have found Caliber to be a more affordable option that has led to some GREAT results. It’s only been 3 months, but I have definitely gotten stronger and have noticed a difference in my physique. I LOVE all the helpful strength training advice, nutritional tips, and motivational snippets that come each week. As a scientist, I have found the content to be spot on and extremely informative.

In addition, my trainer has been fantastic. He has tailored my workouts to the equipment I have available (bands only - gyms closed due to COVID-19), and I’m amazed at what he has come up with. I never thought in a million years that I would get into better shape during a global pandemic with such limited resources at my disposal. I’m super excited to use this product when the gym opens up and I have more equipment and exercises to try!

I would highly recommend this to anyone who has dabbled in fitness but could benefit from expert advice, structure, and a great product.

This is the best fitness app I’ve ever used

Okay so I know this is a relatively new app still under develop. But dear god has it helped me stay consistently excited about going to the gym. I’m a pretty experienced gym-goer - I’ve been going consistently for about 4 years now, but I’ve never really tracked my workouts successfully until finding CaliberStrengthTraining. I have usually just developed my own workout routines and switched them up. But I’ve been using the routine suggested by CaliberStrengthTraining , that is, doing one set of workouts and mastering all of them, and I haven’t seen this much progress in my workouts in such a short amount of time since I first started lifting. And to top all of that off, without coaching, it’s 100% free! I’m excited to see where CaliberStrengthTraining is going in the future, and I fully intend on being on the forefront of any changes that come. Thank you devs for an outstanding app!

Caliber, Never Change

If CaliberStrengthTraining continues to have the amount of value it gives FOR FREE, this will become something I recommend to every human I come in contact with. Found it from the Developer sharing it on Reddit, and as a 10+ year athlete who’s gone from 300lbs to 150lbs; this is something I would’ve killed for a decade ago when starting my journey and am so happy to have it by my side as a veteran who’s always trying to learn more and add to my health arsenal. Serious kudos to you guys. CaliberStrengthTraining has no trackers but I honestly want them to feel free to start using and “stealing” all my market data if it means the devs get more money for the free service they’re providing with CaliberStrengthTraining. I don’t write reviews but had to drop in on this one and say to Caliber, please, never change🧡
Would love to become a premium member once I’m above the poverty line, these devs deserve the world.

So worth it

The pandemic inspired a lot of us to focus on what we can and cannot control. Personal health and wellness was an area I felt I could control but I needed guidance. Enter Caliber.

I believe I found Caliber through an Instagram post and signed up. I was immediately matched with a trainer who was interested in getting to know me and my goals. He (Paul) has remained my biggest champion and challenger over the last four months. He’s encouraging, available, flexible, creative and understanding.

He’s also helped me get results I’ve never seen before. He has crafted challenging workouts, including body weight, resistance band, and weight exercises- all depending on what is available that week. In addition, he is working with me to finally understand how nutrition works to help build muscle. And I’m seeing results. I have put on at least five lbs of muscle and together we are working on my 2021 fitness and nutrition goals.

I’m thrilled with Caliber. The interface is easy and intuitive. Though sometimes small bugs pop-up and CaliberStrengthTraining will crash, I’ve noticed it has gotten much better in the past couple of months. I’ll continue to use Caliber and would highly recommend to someone who just needs a little more guidance and accountability to get results you’ve never seen before.

Extremely happy customer

I’m 32 and was a college athlete but really struggled to design an adequate workout plan early in the ‘Everything from Home’ situation. I stumbled on Caliber last summer and gave it a try and couldn’t be happier with what they (shoutout to my trainer Paul Stocker!!) have done for me. Their process is to quickly but thoroughly tailor evolving workout plans to the equipment you have, the number of days a week you can exercise, and how much time you have for each workout, and they push and motivate you within those confines to get the best possible results. They even offer a handful of vignettes every week on the science backing their strength training approach + other health and dietary recs. As great as CaliberStrengthTraining is though, the human touch is what makes this special. Caliber’s an absolute steal for the price—6 months in and I’m still thrilled with it (and still getting stronger every week)!

Amazing Service and Terrific Results

I just completed a 6 month training course with my Caliber trainer, Dominique, and couldn’t be happier with this program and it’s trainers. I learned so much about how to train correctly and consistently built muscle and strength with the help of Dom. She also guided me through helpful lessons on eating better in a way that actually helped me learn how to visually understand how to nourish and sustain my body while also reaching weight loss goals without constantly worrying about diet restriction or extreme calorie counting. All of the tools she gave me were extremely easy to use and intuitive and Dom was always available for any questions or concerns I had throughout the process. I couldn’t recommend this program more highly and will be using the lessons and programs Dom and Caliber have given me for years to come.

Wonderful, easy to follow workout app

I’ve always been interested in strength training but I’ve always been intimidated by it. Especially how much weight to start with, how many reps, what exercises to do so I’m hitting all my muscle groups etc… CaliberStrengthTraining is so great at laying everything out in a simple to follow format and it does a fantastic job at answering all of those questions. It was exactly what I needed to get started. It’s only my first week using it but I think I’ll really use it long term. Thank you for creating CaliberStrengthTraining, it has been so helpful. My only suggestion would be to include a way for me to track when I do yoga. CaliberStrengthTraining has a drop down menu for tracking cardio but on my off days I like doing stretches and yoga and it would be nice to track that within CaliberStrengthTraining . Thank you!

Going out of my way to write this review

Where to start? CaliberStrengthTraining is incredibly well-done. Seeing your progress, being able to create your own list of work out, inputting progress, seeing your stats, etc. I saw CaliberStrengthTraining advertised on a social platform, saw all the positive reviews, and decided to give it a whirl.

Whenever I work put, this is the first things I have up and running immediately. The depth of variations to the workout and providing relevant workouts to the one you are substituting, as opposed to listing a bunch if irrelevant ones or having you scroll through a long list to find what you need.—it’s little touches like this and detail that make CaliberStrengthTraining really stand out.

I hope this never changes. I’ve been loving all the features so far!

I never review any app to be completely honest

I been searching for an workout tracker app for months now, been deleting and downloading new apps back to back. They either cost money or don’t have the features I need. I found out about CaliberStrengthTraining by google and downloaded it. It has everything I need completely free and it has a option to make workouts for you for the selection of equipment you have. So this is a plus for me since I rely on working out from home and I only have a bench and dumbbells etc it has plenty of exercises to meet my demands and easy to find. I think this is the first time In my life I took time to review something but i felt like that was the least I could do after finding it. Give it a shot fr.

Highly recommend!

I’ve always been an active person and I’m already in good shape, but I found myself hitting a plateau with the workouts I was doing (mostly at home HIIT and strength training). I started with Caliber about 6 weeks ago and I’m really pleased with the results already! My trainer Alicia has been super nice, attentive and accommodating. She answers questions quickly and has helped make adjustments to exercises so they work better for me. I can definitely see a difference in how much weight I can lift which is really encouraging! I also like how self-motivated it is (no training with an actual trainer present) but I also feel like I have enough support from Alicia when I need it. For $99/mo, it’s a bit pricy but I think it’s well worth it for the structure and professional support. I’m really glad I found it!

Perfect for beginners and advanced gym goers!

Wow. I first heard of Caliber on a very well written Reddit post/ad. I decided to give it a shot, but I was skeptical as I’ve used so many free fitness tracking apps before and most are trash. I was so surprised at how well CaliberStrengthTraining was designed and functions. I’ve completed several of the suggested workouts, tracking my reps and weight on each one. I can confidently say this is the best fitness app I’ve ever used. The UI is incredible. The amount of free features you get is honestly shocking and I sure hope it stays that way. I genuinely feel like CaliberStrengthTraining is helping me reach my training goals and helping me understand my body. I’m no where near a bodybuilder, nor a personal trainer, yet CaliberStrengthTraining makes me feel so much more confident in the gym.

Great app! Lacks offline capability

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed using CaliberStrengthTraining today. It really motivated me and it’s been exactly what I’ve been looking for in a workout app.

As a piece of constructive criticism, CaliberStrengthTraining seems to stumble when an internet connection is lost. My local gym gets poor signal and the WiFi doesn’t work so when I want to go in to input my reps, it just starts loading endlessly due to the bad connection. The ability to be able to have some data locally on my device, such as this week’s workout routines that I input, to track them and have the instructional videos tied to data would really help me use this at my gym and when traveling for work. Just a small suggestion but I hope I’ve left a positive impact :)

Growing app and growing functionality bring growing muscles

I think what these guys are doing is fantastic. I’ve been working with Caliber for over 3 months, pretty religiously. My trainer really helps me focus on my strongest pain point, nutrition; but also really drives the connection with strength workouts as well.

I like to connect with the team regularly to offer suggestions and bugs. A couple things off the top of my head (from an iPhone/watch perspective):

1. Starting up a workout in Caliber starts a functional training workout on the Apple Watch.

2. Display any or part of the notes section on the sets page to minimize clicks. (I use notes for setting a bar height or height of a cable pull down)

3. Add a stopwatch for timed exercises like planks or squat holds.

4. Add Apple Watch functionality for notifications or set controls on the watch (could be part of #1). Utilize the power of the health-related features of the watch and HealthKit.

5. Allow some techie members to beta test future releases

For now, that’s all I have. But I believe CaliberStrengthTraining and the Caliber program as a whole has been fantastic! I hope that I can be a gleaming photo example of a before and after someday. But for now, I need to keep putting in the hard work!

You’ll be set up to fail

If you know how to research workout programs, you’ll quickly come to the conclusion that I did: Caliber is a scam.

The big problem is that you are not allowed to consult with one of their so-called “coaches” without first plunking down $600 for a three-month commitment. This is not okay because any fitness expert worth their salt will tell you that you shouldn’t hire any trainer who does not first give you a no-risk consult and trial session to see if a fit exists for you. It also means that you can’t verify the “coaches” are actual certified trainers and have legit nutrition credentials so they can assist you with your intake, because you can’t out-train a bad diet.

Their so-called science-based approach is therefore worthless because you are not allowed to do your homework before committing. If you’re a self-starter who doesn’t need a coach, CaliberStrengthTraining is an option; but everyone else is better off hiring an in-person CPT in a private studio to get the kinds of results you deserve.

A strong alternative

If you’re looking for something different from JEFIT, Fitbod, FitnessAI, etc., this is a perfect strength-building app with a wealth of material to learn from simple reads every week to improve your fitness and workouts. I found out I am much more muscular than I thought, and I find it relatively easy to load up more and more weight with CaliberStrengthTraining. CaliberStrengthTraining changed how I view weightlifting and my diet.
Also, CaliberStrengthTraining is relatively accessible, with a group chat and resources to learn from at no cost. The only thing you pay is if you want to group or personalized coaching.

I use CaliberStrengthTraining to build up strength for MMA training and live a healthier life by improving my strength.

I appreciate CaliberStrengthTraining tracks my calories and macros, even my cardio from runs from other apps, to make things more comprehensive and gives me a good idea of what type of fitness level I'm bringing to my daily life for my sport. 🥋🥊

Overall, I believe you can get a lot out of CaliberStrengthTraining, and you should try it because you will stick with it once you realize you're getting into the best shape of your life.
💪🥇😁

Great App

I really like Caliber fitness for what it is, you get an online coaching model for strength training and nutrition. CaliberStrengthTraining tells you exactly what muscles you are working, and even shows your progression with some really cool tools. My biggest complaint about the technology is that it has very little flexibility on when your week starts (Monday or Sunday). My scores tended to fluctuate due to moving a Saturday workout to Sunday. As far as the service, my coach was great. She was very knowledgeable about certain things I needed help with, and I definitely learned a lot from her. However I was paired with a coach with a vast time zone difference, making it somewhat difficult to connect when truly needed; leaving me to guess or with unanswered questions. Overall it is a great company.

Amazing App, highly recommend to anyone

I cannot recommend CaliberStrengthTraining enough. I found CaliberStrengthTraining on Reddit 3 months ago and it’s been a journey ever since. I have been constantly setting PRs in the gym and have gained 8 pounds in muscle in my gain cycle.

I cannot recommend CaliberStrengthTraining enough. The UI and tracking aspect is great and seamless on CaliberStrengthTraining and adding the personal trainer is a giant help.

I have had Zander as my personal trainer the last 3 months and he has been so helpful in terms of updates on my plan, being an accountability partner, and helping me constantly reach my fitness and nutrition goals. I cannot recommend CaliberStrengthTraining enough to anyone who has hit a plateau or wants to hit their gym and nutrition goals.

Great app

I love using CaliberStrengthTraining. It’s made my workouts soo much easier to track I there are a few adjustments that would be even more helpful. There are some exercises using different machines that I can’t find so I’ve had to add them to the custom section. Also at the gym I go to there are different brands of machines but the weight stack is incremented differently which makes me have to use less weight on that machine when I’ve logged a higher weight on a different machine ie…leg extension on life fitness I can do 80 pounds but in the nitro I do 77 because the next weight is 85 pounds it doesn’t have 80. You only have a cable bent over Tricep extension and not the standing cable overhead Tricep extension. These are just a few of the things that could be added. Other than that I like the classes that we read are very helpful and the ease in the ability to track the workouts is great. Over all I really like using CaliberStrengthTraining.

Get back into routine, be intentional, and see/feel results with Caliber

Anxiety and personal life once got the best of me and interrupted my once regular fitness routine. After doing research on various online-based training systems, I found Caliber. I was matched and met with my trainer during a video session. I’ve been working with her for at least a year now.

I previously had general knowledge of gym equipment and fitness in general, but CaliberStrengthTraining and training support makes my fitness routine seem more intentional (not only with workouts, but with nutrition and general habits). I appreciate the demonstrational videos, workout tracking/plans, feedback, check-ins, and words of support. I feel that my goals are truly taken into consideration- as far as body strength, physique, and perceived challenges. Using Caliber requires a sense of accountability to truly take advantage of what it could potentially offer to each individual. For me, it’s been a positive experience for my mental being as well as physical goals. I have literally seen my results manifested in pictures over time as well as in my personal ability to use my strength at work! :)

Fantastic way to build a habit of working out

Caliber is a fantastic way to build a habit of working out, especially if, like me, you’re moderately new to weight lifting/fat burning. My coach, Jonathan, helped me to build the program tailored to my goals and adjusted it as we went along. It is instrumental in having a resourceful accountability partner(coach) to make progress and learn as you go. The coach is always there to provide advice, check in, and encourage. I also love the lessons in CaliberStrengthTraining and learned quite a lot about the science of exercise and nutrition. In the first three months, I built the habit of going to the gym four times a week, and now I can’t stop. I opted to continue with Jonathan after the first three months because I knew I’d make better progress with support from my coach. CaliberStrengthTraining tracks your progress and shows stats so you can see improvement over time, which is very motivational for me. CaliberStrengthTraining also connects to third-party apps to help you track calories, etc.

Accountability and Specific population

Paid for the 3 month subscription with the virtual trainer to help prevent any regression during some very busy months with a lot of travel. I work out regularly and notified the trainer and caliber of this. They still said CaliberStrengthTraining and virtual training would be helpful.

The trainer, while nice, offered very generic messages 1-2x per week. Although they did seem encouraging, it sounded like a copy and paste type message. I fell behind on logging workouts for a week and noticed the trainer did not mention anything about it so I thought I would go another week without logging anything to see if they noticed (accountability). Nothing was ever mentioned. After about 2.5 weeks of not noticing whether or not I was actually working out, I decided to end the subscription. The whole 2 months I was active in the subscription, the workout never changed. (Lot of money for only one workout…)

I had high hopes for this. It was the first virtual training I tried, and will likely be the last. Maybe CaliberStrengthTraining + virtual training is helpful for beginners, however it does not seem to be CaliberStrengthTraining for anyone who is not at the beginning of their fitness journey.

Great program!

I have Austin as a trainer and he is fantastic. I have some injuries and he’s been great about making modifications to my workouts. We have great communication. CaliberStrengthTraining is also fantastic. The videos that demonstrate the workout and the history tracking on your prior workouts so you know exactly how much to lift have been a huge help. I do wish I could communicate with my trainer via my computer because I’m a slow texter. I know they are working on that though. I found a work around in it in the mean time. If you download CaliberStrengthTraining from your Mac and open it, it will populate in iPhone format on your computer, but you can message your trainer and make modifications to your workouts on your computer that way.

Best exercise app out there

Best exercise app out there. I’ve been wanting to go to the gym but always get lost on what to do. Well I tried multiple apps out there to help me out but none have been as extensive as the Caliber app. I’ve had the best workout of my life with CaliberStrengthTraining. The exercises are hard and you can feel the muscles feeling the pain but I don’t feel dead or tired afterwards. Instead I feel like doing more but I know I’m just starting out and need to train my way up with time and not all at once. It gives me tutorials on what to do which helps out and they have someone live performing them which is better then the animated art the we see sometimes. I’m currently 220 pound and just 5’6” but CaliberStrengthTraining works you out well. If you’re similar to me with a sedentary life and doesn’t like going to the gym then I feel you. BUT CaliberStrengthTraining eases you in and makes you wanting to come back.

Perfect for me

I am a busy time in my life between work, kids, family, etc. I have been working out most of my life and am still active with sports. I have been feeling as I enter my 40s that I have been fighting an uphill battle, switching between programs, eating well but not seeing results. I have been using Caliber for about 6 weeks now and paired my trainer Laurence and it is perfect for me. The program was designed around what is realistic for me to stick to and uses what equipment and facilities I have. The tracking of nutrition macros and workout reps/weights, and video meetings keep you accountable. I have seen not only great progress but the development of better habits. If you are serious about taking the steps to see and feel real change, this is for you.

Invaluable Tool

I first heard about the caliber app through a post that caliberchris had made on Reddit. I was intrigued by it. I always wished to be stronger and to be in better condition, but never having lifted, and not knowing how to formulate a program always held me back. I purchased some adjustable dumbbells on Black Friday and went ahead and created a plan using the equipment I had available at home. I’m about 3 months into a routine now. I feel better, I have improved self image, I’m more disciplined and my mental health has improved in strides. I can’t say enough positive things about Caliber, and I’d like to personally thank the Caliber team for providing such an excellent tool.

A few more things:
-Thank you for not handicapping your product with a subscription tier
-Thank you for being privacy focused
-I’d love the ability to donate via CaliberStrengthTraining with a one time payment.
-I’m excited for the watchOS companion app (on the roadmap)
-I look forward to dark mode (on the roadmap)
-I’d like for incline/decline positions on benches to have suggested angles.

You guys are killing it. I hope to someday write an updated review that you’ve continued to provide an excellent tool while retaining your core values.

Huge improvement in less than 1 month

I joined Caliber after searching for a solution to my non-motivation for working out. I’m 59 years old and haven’t lifted weights for years. I know that that is a very important part of keeping yourself healthy as you get older. (Coach) Mario is awesome. Whenever I send him a message, he responds quickly, and if he thinks I might be slacking, he sends me a quick message to remind me to work out. Keeping track of my workouts and seeing the increase in pounds lifted is motivating. I have stayed true to four workouts a week for the past three weeks and now I feel guilty if I don’t work out. I make it a priority, which is something I’ve never done before! In short, I highly recommend this program and I will continue with it as needed.
