At first, everything seemed great. Then, unfortunately, I noticed that they were double billing my credit card. When I sent a message to customer service, because they do not have a phone number that you can call, the person responding said they had no idea what I was talking about. Finally, I became fed up, and attempted to close the account. Since closing the account, they have also billed my credit card two more times, which they deny. I’m so glad my bank is good because they are disputing this on my behalf and there are no issues with them.

The only good thing that came out of this, is the fact they did report to the credit bureaus - however, it was never on the same day or even a consistent pattern. And I’ve noticed overall it did not actually improve my credit score.

.. until you’re denied for an unfinished application that was done over a mobile phone. I didn’t even realize I didn’t finish the application… Because everything that the mobile app morning for the application was filled in. Not only that but I can’t reapply still even know it’s been over 90 days since the first application..I don’t understand it why you would deny people for an unfinished application instead of building your website so that it won’t allow you to submit the application without it being finished. And it’s super frustrating… I really would like to try GrowCredit and see what it’s like. I am actively in the midst of repairing my credit, and like to explore all avenues that could help me do exactly that. I’ve already brought my score up 136 points in 17 months and I was looking forward to adding this to my credit growth resource list but... 🤷🏼‍♀️

They’re increasing your credit score claims are not as they seem. I paid for $9.99 a month plan and the credit limits were not reported on my top 3 credit bureau reports after six months of use and life of the account. It was reported as an other account type of credit line with no reported limit and it did not raise my scores. The legality of this is gray and questionable too. I’ve asked the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission to investigate along with TransUnion, Equifax and Experian to determine their practices and reporting practices and to keep track of what they report. Customer service representatives at Grow are under 30 years old and lack credit knowledge and experience honestly in several interactions with me via chat and phone. Signing up with them may help some people but I don’t recommend them nor you may set yourself up for disappointment with their non truthful credit score raising promises and claims since for me they were false.

I unfortunately was going through the death of my dog and had to pay thousands to cover the bills and burial costs and went behind a few months on the payments but paid it In full. I spoke to capital one and they were able to remove the late payments and were Amazing and very caring. Now Grow told me that they would get back to me multiple times but never respond or get back to me. The company will not remove late payments to help one of their first ever customers fix credit but claim to be a company that wants to help. It’s really sad how companies like this even get a license to do this. I had to deal with the death of a dog I had for 15 years I was mentally unstable yet the company could care less. If I could give less than 1 star I would. P.S Besides the credit reporting the company is amazing and actually builds your credit please don’t take this as the company is false advertising or doesn’t build credit

I’d give this company zero stars if I could, they take advantage of you and take your information even when just trying to look at what prices would be, once you select any plan just to look at it that becomes your only option, you can’t go back and you can’t restart, if something sounds too good to be true it is, don’t trust this company at all they’re just after your personal info bc no other credit company I know of locks you into anything until you’re fully sure, customer support was just as useful as a microwave to a polar bear bc there was no way they could reset my application apparently, ANY credit builder is better than this trashy company! I hardly ever leave reviews but I believe this one deserves it, so take this as a warning if you’re planning on using GrowCredit!

I was super excited to start building my credit, after I finished setting up GrowCredit , I was trying to set up my bank account with plaid, and every time I push to authorize it would exit out of GrowCredit , and when I went back into GrowCredit , I would have to re-put in my information, I thought it was just my phone acting up, but I tried three times, and it continued to exit out of GrowCredit and not let me proceed, quite frankly it was really annoying and not all set out to be. It kind of makes me feel like they’re trying to steal my information. I’m not saying they will or that they are, but it gives me an insecurity that it kept logging out after I put in my information from my bank account. I would definitely not recommend GrowCredit.

Ok, so credit building apps are suppose to be designed to help you build credit . GrowCredit is such a waste of time simply because you have to register for it . I spent over 20-30 minutes setting up an account (registering) with these people only for them to put me on a waiting list. I just recently checked 3-4 before I decided to give them their real rating , & it says they are unable to offer me a membership with them . How can this be of the whole point is to help people build credit . I mean, it’s in their name . Makers of GrowCredit should be ashamed. All my personal information o gave you guys and I get turned down ? Don’t waited though I have way more credit building apps then just this one & so far “Self” credit building app is the best.

My fiancee and I are truck drivers so we have well over $10 in our bank accounts at all times. The few is (9.99). Yet, they are trying to claim even with bank statements that her payment failed. Both of us have been trying to get in contact with them and they are unresponsive. The only way to contact them IS THROUGH CHAT. BEWARE. My fiancee has no subscriptions coming out of the account so she wants to close the account seeing as they are trying to ruin her credit by making it impossible to make a payment. They are doing so by not allowing the “make a payment” button to be active on the website or app. It's as if they are trying to set her up to fail and we have screen recordings of all of this as well as there unresponsiveness and inability to solve a simple question with an answer. They immediately redirected her instead of answering her questions. I'm soon to close my account as well. NOW I have to reach out to several family members and tell tyem GrowCredit I referred isnt everything I hoped to be. Because if they are being this way with her when the ERROR is on them, I would hate to see what they do when they mess up my account or theirs. I don't have time to babysit this, when I came to grow to help not harm my credit score.

I have removed all of my subscriptions from GrowCredit and have no intention of using it any further. They make it so difficult just to pay the balance through any way other than bank draft. They only offer alternatives after the payment is late, and changing the bank you’re using is way more difficult than necessary. I’ve been fighting for MONTHS because I had a payment reported late on my credit report due to it being so hard just to pay from another account. My score dropped several points. This is the only late payment I have on my CBR at this point. Not to mention the card doesn’t work half the time and I wind up using my debit card anyway. I’m just using Experian boost at this point. I’m over it.

Update: Now they’ve also ruined my TU instead of just my Experian. I wish they’d just remove their trade line altogether.

I got the Accelerated Premium plan and as i was cross checking my bank statement vs the subscriptions I enrolled in Grow credit. The charges don’t add up, so i went to their support which is VERY INCONVENIENTLY and VERY HASSLE to have chat as only the support , i kept on asking for a customer service phone number but the agent didn’t give to me, mind you I asked very nicely about speaking or talking to the phone rather than chat as it takes a while for them to respond and as I mentioned i am a premium member, i cannot imagine the support of the much lower plans or the free plans are getting from them.

Grow credit, please close my account and improve your customer service. Your vision and mission of helping people doesn’t add up or will not result to anything helpful if your paid members are/will feel helpless when they want to get help.

I have a year of “late payments” that I just discovered on my credit report, because I paid off (and closed) my account and changed banks - a bank that Grow Credit “does not support”. They apparently had not processed the last charge and therefore charged me another membership fee. These 2 amounts - totaling $7 - have ruined my credit for the last year. They never stopped trying to withdraw funds from my old account, and never notified me of the problem.

Having discovered this, I updated my bank account information in GrowCredit - which they accepted - and attempted to make payment - which they denied, because they support the bank but somehow also do not. They are trying to force me to open a PayPal account in order to resolve this “quickly”. Until I do, they will refuse to honor my multiple payments and continue their negative marks on my credit report.

(Summary: Stay Away, they will damage your credit report, used for 2 years with 0 Credit Improvement. Rate this 0 stars if I could, use ANY alternative)

Why? Per, Grow Credit is the worst company I’ve had the displeasure of utilizing for 2 years now and no loyalty from them, as they have the audacity to list a late payment on my report, even though I owe them 0$ and cancelled every sub going to this fake credit app; which I will contest til my last breath, more below.

As they have the most Stone Age basic payment system where even if one has CASH in their Checking account - the payment encounters an error.

Thereafter, without even a friendly Courtesy, even after disabling every single subscription going to grow credit, and asking them personally to shut down my account… they did NOTHING and now I have to spend my TIME contesting this Bogus late payment.

Thus, I will kindly be pursuing every single avenue of CFPB, BBB, and ALL sources of Consumer Protection to ensure no one else has to go through this Worst in Class: Holistic (all of it) Joke of a App/Scam. In my opinion, these are scammers and they don’t even reach out to their customers.

Stay far far away, I instead recommend Chime’s Credit Builder- that is a Real Credit Improving product. Not this, Be WARY my friends, I hope no one else suffers as I have by the hands of Grow Credit.

I was excited to sign up for this card. I attached it to all of my streaming subscriptions!
But after that, I can’t log into my app. I’d first like to point out that there is no “remember me” option. You have to skip through the intro everytime - and AFTER I attached my card, the loading time to actually log in is ridiculous. There is atleast a 30 second lag between what I type, and the words showing up on my screen, and when I finally logged in, the loading screen was so long, I had to turn my phones screen back on after it turned off THREE times - and I still wasn’t logged in before the screen shut off a fourth time and I gave up.
And why do I have to pay $5 a month to add my phone bill? Why does that require a premium account? Why am I paying you $5 so I can pay my phone bill?
Just go elsewhere. An account here is a WASTE of time - and a premium account is a waste of time AND money.

I have GrowCredit and as great as it is to pay most of my subscriptions all at once it sometimes becomes bothersome that I can’t pay ALL of my monthly subscriptions with their virtual card. My monthly subscriptions I tried to use this virtual card for my APPLE subscriptions purchases and it doesn’t go through it declines, like appleTV, appleMusic, etc. I have other subscriptions also with Netflix but because I’m automatically billed with my T-Mobile account GrowCredit doesn’t consider it as subscription. So like I said, theirs pros and cons. I’m at least happy that the virtual card pays my subscriptions in advance and charges all of them to my bank account all at once so I won’t miss payments.

I have been using GrowCredit for almost 16 months now. It has helped in increasing my credit score. I really have enjoyed the conscience of it and quick customer response time with it. Recently, I have experienced some issues that I categorize as drawbacks. Within the new app update it has changed some things. I am no longer able to get certain payments processed for subscriptions because they go over my overall balance that gets auto processed paid on time every month. My current balance is still under the monthly limit I have been paying for. I am also bummed out that they haven’t come out with the option of making multiple payments so it could be more convenient to place all my streaming service subscriptions for it. Their requirements for the accelerator level is kind of hard to meet while rebuilding and building credit.

GrowCredit is awesome and easy to use. Great customer service. A little slow adding new subscription services but all in all a great way to help build or rebuild your credit. My only issue is the billing. They use Automatic billing from your bank account. Bills are supposed to be processed for payment on the 10th of the month but for the past 3 or 4 months they haven’t been processing payments on time. They also need to add a payment feature so users can make their payments earlier than the 10th if they want. Need to add a more detailed account of any & all transactions.

I have been using grow credits free plan for a few months now to pay a few streaming subscriptions and have gotten a few credit score bumps from it. One thing to not worry about is GrowCredit tells you how much % your using of your credit line, if your using this it's CBR cause you want every point boost you can get here is what customer service told me...

Additionally, you do not need to worry about your usage percentage. Grow Credit loans are structured as a closed end term loan of 12 months accessed via Mastercard. Because of this, you are never using a high percentage of your total loan amount.

I’ve tried a bunch of the new financial apps the past few years but none of them are as easy to use or have helped me in tangible ways as much as Grow has. I signed up, got instantly approved, changed my Netflix payment to the Grow card, and my repayment to Grow automatically comes out of my checking account each month. It’s that simple. They report those repayments to the credit bureaus and your FICO goes up. Mine already has! Def recommend this to anyone looking for a way to get their credit back on track in the easiest way possible.

One of the best, easiest & fastest ways to improve your credit/FICO score. Utilizing GrowCredit, along with improved habits as it pertains to my overall usage of credit with my other credit improving vehicles has lead to dramatic increases in my scores in less than a year. GrowCredit alone, as fantastic as it is, isn’t sufficient enough to produce those improvements so I strongly suggest incorporating other credit improving resources such as the Self app, along with being disciplined with other fundamental credit improving practices such as on time payments, keeping your credit utilization rates below 30%, etc

This technique for credit is perfect. Paying for the premium where you guys reports $1800 it’s still has not impacted my credit or shown. All it’s done so far is report what I owe, which adds to credit usage. The $1800 has not been added to my credit line. Lastly, I feel it would be more productive if the credit line on the virtual card was at 300 instead of 150 to start just like any secured credit card or a first time card owner. Overall, I love GrowCredit and see a lot of productive things in the future with it. The reason I say to start the credit line at 300 is because subscriptions today aren’t cheap anymore. They average anywhere from $5-$100+. Just some food for thought. Keep up the great work.

So I’ve used and have literally 1,000s of apps on my phone and every now and then I have to contact the developer for some reason, as I did with Grow. I VERY seldom have most developers get back to me within a decent amount of time AND provide thorough insight and customer service THE WAY GROW HAS! They’ve honestly made me feel like the only or a VIP customer, and I appreciate that. I’m also loving the new brand look and feel they’ve adopted and GrowCredit is top notch for the service it provides! I’m looking forward to continued use of GrowCredit!!

I love GrowCredit I downloaded it not knowing exactly what was entailed, I tried my first bill with my cell phone. I had missed my payment that month by a couple days and my service was suspended for the next coming month. So I went into GrowCredit downloaded my cell phone carrier company and the payment went through by the end of the day I was very happy and pleased, I was even more ecstatic to find out that by using this service I could also raise my Fico score while making my payments on time and not having to worry about how I’m going to pay my bills next month or is my check going to be big enough to cover all my bills next month? Thanks to Grow Credit I no longer have to worry about if my next check is going to be enough! I’m very happy with GrowCredit. And plan on recommending to my family and friends if they need help raising their credit scores or just needing that extra boost for the next month.

I’m beyond grateful, satisfied and almost speechless at how much Grow Credit has helped increase my FICO score! When the pandemic started I along with 500 coworkers was laid off as soon as the covid lockdowns started so without a steady income my only option was turning to high interest credit cards and while that helped with present problems it also created even bigger financial problems for the future and this caused my credit score to drop more and more. Now that I’m working again and after discovering Grow Credit in only 2 MONTHS my credit score has gone up 56 points! I’m so thankful for Grow Credit! I will recommend GrowCredit to anyone that needs help re-establishing their credit/FICO score. Thanks Grow Credit!!

GrowCredit has it all. It builds credit, it’s easy to use, the customer support is fantastic, and there are no outrageous fees. I have been using it for 8 months now. I have the highest tier plan and use it to pay my cell phone bill monthly. Everything works smoothly and I have seen a positive increase in my credit score. Keep in mind, when you open a new account your credit may go down at first (due to length of credit history and the new account factoring into it). But, I highly recommend you give it a try. A few months of consecutive use and on-time payments, combined with the super low utilization they report, your credit score will increase. GrowCredit is very well done and I especially love the broad range of subscriptions and other monthly bills you can use it toward.

When I started using grow Credit almost a year ago now, I wasn’t sure how much it would help me because I was only using my virtual card to pay for a few small monthly bills. I had an okay credit score but not a lot of history and had a recent collection so I was pretty bummed about that decreasing my credit. Fast forward to now it is one of my longest standing credit accounts and has boosted my credit astronomically. The best part is after 6 on time monthly payments I was able to upgrade to the higher spending limit and it showed on my credit as a 1,000$+ credit increase! Over 25 points added to my credit score that day alone. Long story short download GrowCredit you won’t find an easier way to build history and your credit. THANK YOU grow credit

Great response time, and a really good understanding of my questions. Repairing one’s credit is like regaining one’s health, with the help of a skilled practitioner, one gets better. This program feels like it will help me get better with my FICO score. Just knowing about background reporting has made me more confident that my arsenal of credit building tools is having a real impact. The system in place to pay monthly subscriptions using the Grow Credit credit card ensures a smooth payment process which in turn becomes reported on time payments. Easy to set up and having a well designed interface, iPhone in my case, makes this a no brainer considering how little needs to be done with Grow Credit to raise one’s credit- points in the Fair Issac Corporation’s credit report translate into $$$ savings in Interest rates when applying for loans, credit cards an other credit products. In short, better credit score=lower total cost of loan due to lower interest rates. A superlative product for the price paid!
