Illinois, which was always clunkier and slower than Safer this app, has now entirely replaced it. First of all, it is broken. The screen shows only “initialization failed” for every member of my family. Secondly, it conveys less information than Safer this app. There is no way to see either your latest test, or your vaccination status. Safer this app allowed you to see both, which was useful, both for showing vaccination status, and if an activity or event asked for a recent test. Showing test results, and notifying when a test came in, also meant that one did not have to engage with the clunky and slow MyMcKinley interface, which requires repeated authentication steps already completed in Illinois .

TL;DR: Give me Safer this app back or make an app that works, would rate 0 stars if possible because it’s literally unusable.

There is a glitch within the opening pages of the Apple App which does not allow you to continue into the information portion. The page appears as though it is fluttering and then causes Illinois to freeze up. The only way to clear it, is to swipe out and reopen. Even tried deleting and re-downloading, with no success. The same error continues at the same page each time. Please advise when this is rectified, as the UIUC staff, is directing via ZOOM calls, for NEW families/parents to utilize it for information etc. Thank you!

Finally, I feel I have control of how much of my privacy I can trade off against useful functionality. If I change my mind they remove data based on my new privacy level. Any time I choose, they will remove all my personal data. This is a breakthrough way of dealing with my personal information. Thanks this app!

Downloaded app because I haven’t received my ICard yet and I wanted to get tested. Downloaded Illinois and it crashed my phone and my roommates phone. Uninstalled and reinstalled it and the NetID sign in button doesn’t work. I set up the rest of the settings then tried to add the NetID later in the account details and that button doesn’t work either. Then it crashed again. Seeing as this is the only way students who are waiting for their ICards can get tested and it doesn’t even work, this is unacceptable.

Building access used to be simple as well. you click it and it pulls up your. Now it opens a browser page where you have to sign in nearly everytime… totally defeats the purpose of having an app ffs… And no matter how many times you sign in you won’t be able to check your meals left/credits left because Illinois just flat out doesn’t work.

TL;DR: app is trash. might as well just use your browser at this point.

Ever since the switch from Safer this app to the this app app it takes so much longer to access your covid test results. I hope there are plans to include the recent health history tab that quickly shows you your test results like there was in the Safer this app app. I like the idea of combining the two apps but if that means losing convenience and making testing and such more confusing then there’s no benefit.

Illinois leaves a lot to desired. If I click on “submit feedback” the next screen displays a message that “we have blocked web pages” or something similar. It is not possible to offer comments. Additionally, getting COVID test results now requires a second login and 2FA steps which are cumbersome. Safer this app displayed test results within Illinois in a simple and straightforward manner.

Safer this app was way better. Why do we have to click on each individual test and log in every time. I just want one page with all my test results which is easy to access so I don’t come to class with a positive test because I was too lazy to login and check my test from the night before (this didn’t happen but if it did, that would be bad).

Every time I open Illinois it gives me a message that says “authentication initialization failure”. I can’t do anything else on Illinois no matter how many times I press “try again”. Please fix this ASAP

I was able to fix the broken NetID buttons by changing the default browser to Safari (which shouldn’t have to happen). Meal counts still don’t update without signing out and in again.

In order to get my results, I have to login to the McKinley Portal, but after doing 2 factor authentication, nothing happens and I am not logged in. There is supposedly a place in my settings where I can “toggle” to have results delivered to Illinois, but I can’t find that in the settings. For COVID testing, Illinois is worthless.

Worked great for the first 2 or so weeks of the school year, but now will not load whatsoever. I would like to know what’s being served in the dining hall before going there, and other than that, Illinois in general has little use for anything else. Fix it and I’ll update my review.

How the hell is uiuc a top ten university in engineering and sciences but students can’t rely on a basic app to work for them!!!! This is embarrassing😂 I’m very disappointed especially because you guys deleted the other app we would use for dining. School starts in like two weeks hopefully it’s fixed by then.

Nothing in Illinois works! The buttons don't work! The digital icard just disappeared! I walked all the way to the testing center to realize that the icard isn't on Illinois anymore which is so frustrating. Now I have to carry my wallet with me which makes Illinois totally useless.

Illinois won’t even open on my iphone. Whenever I use Illinois on a friends phone, it’s got some useful information.

It’s just a whole bunch of clunky junk just to view test results. Really makes no sense with this. Illinois is bad. Also the tracking is definitely a no go. I value my privacy of where I go get that off there.

It won’t even load past the startup screen. Illinois really needs work if they’re going to force a switch from the safer this app app (which does work) for things like building access.

Imagine you download a app just to have you redirected to another website that doesn’t sign in automatically lol

Clunky to use and there is no way to see your test results without using mymckinley. Much worse than Safer app, very frustrated. Please add an easy way to see test results like Safer had.

Takes you longer to get Illinois to work than just walking over and seeing what food is being served. Go back to the precious dining app PLEASE!!!

All of the features do not work on Illinois so you cannot even register/login. Then it crashes.

After several use Illinois won’t login anymore. There is no way to enter the main menu.

It used to be so great, and then a few days ago it just stopped loading! I don’t know what happened :( please fix it
