I can use my email and password to log in on the PG&E website but how come I can’t log in at PortlandGeneralElectric ? It shows my email is not registered. They should be the same, right?

App won’t let me sign in. Tried resetting the password but ultimately was routes to the automated line to pay my bill. Such a waste of time and space.

Garbage App

Wont recognize my login information. But somehow the odd backwards browser internal to OnePassword will.

Either not meant for my area of Portland or a total piece of useless trash. Either way 1 Star do not recommend.

Absolute garbage

1) Doesn’t remember log-in even when the “remember” checkbox is marked and Face ID is enabled.
2) Navigation is hidden behind content much of the time.
3) Clunky and slow loading for many features.
4) Feedback form literally doesn’t work. It doesn’t allow you to select what you want and can’t deselect anything and can’t continue because the button is disabled.

Tried logging in my iPhone 11pro max. iOS version 13.6 using the latest version of PortlandGeneralElectric . I double checked my login info and it closes when I select done...

Not accurate

Doesn’t show accurate information. The address showing for me is two addresses ago. Website shows more accurately. I also had my new address updated incorrectly but since PortlandGeneralElectric was showing totally wrong. I didn’t know until two weeks later. Thankfully I caught if before the first bill went out according to the rep I spoke to.

Zero stars

I would give this zero stars but they don’t give you that option. Trying to use PortlandGeneralElectric on my iPad admittedly an older one so it says I need the older version so I download it then when you open the older version it has a block on it saying there is a newer version when you go back to PortlandGeneralElectric it says you need the older version!

App seems disappointing so far. If you want to pay your bill by credit card, PortlandGeneralElectric just opens a browser page for you to provide the credit card details, AND makes you scroll about 20 times to read and accept language authorizing the transaction. There's so much language that it reads like a car leasing document. And currently to top it off, PortlandGeneralElectric is telling me I'm not authorized to view my own energy usage! (?!?). It doesn't get better in a week it'll be deleted.

App uses too much data

PortlandGeneralElectric is fictional enough. And really, in most months I wouldn’t really need to use it ever as my PGE Bill is automatically paid from my bank account every month, but my power has been out for 4 days now so I’ve had to check the status of my outage multiple times a day and the size of the service calls/responses have been massive. iOS tells me that the PGE app has used more data than Instagram, and that’s wild because Instagram has photos and videos and the PGE app is likely just some JSON or XML. Obviously some overbloated service is sending some massive payloads. Feel bad for the developers that work on PortlandGeneralElectric .

Updates, updates, updates

I try to go into PortlandGeneralElectric once a month and it seems that there’s always an ‘update’ it forces me to make. I normally avoid updates in general since I know that there’s a good chance they screw something up, but PortlandGeneralElectric forces you to make them. Shockingly, after I updated PortlandGeneralElectric today it wouldn’t let me type in my password properly - not good. I won’t be using PortlandGeneralElectric again.

Way too many updates

App doesn’t show me all the info I can find online regarding my current and past energy use and cost, so I will always check the online website.

PortlandGeneralElectric also needs to update every time I try to open it, which is annoying and time consuming. So much so that I decided to write a review about it. My advice: skip PortlandGeneralElectric and just check your account online.

Easy to use and simple interface. Balance is upfront, no need to search. You can report an outage via phone. Wish the sign out spot was easier to find, but now that I found it, I’m good to go.
