Republic: Invest in Startups Reviews

Edit- I found where to see your tracked companies: go to the last tab on the bottom, ‘View Profile’, then ‘Saved Companies’.

The whole point of hosting all these startups that want funding is for us, the user/funder, to choose the company that resonates with us. this app has a follow company button. And then, they have the audacity to not have a place where you can go to see al the companies you’re “following”, which means, you’re actually NOT following anything. It’s literally impossible to follow any company on Republic unless you’ve already invested in them. The whole decision making process relies on being able to revisit companies to review details and see if there are updates. You can’t do this on Republic. There’s not even a search function. Pretty useless app unless you just invest in a company the first time you hear about it. 🙄

Either Republic is too good to be true or truly something cutting edge. Its super easy to find, research and invest in companies. Republic has great UX but there are still some areas that can be improved, e.g., adding hyperlinks and more information to the portfolio page, better proofreading of copy before publishing. I notice typos in pitches often, and maybe better categorization of types of ventures. Beyond that its a great app and I have invested in several start ups. We’ll see if it pays off.

this app’s app makes it even easier to view all of the great investment opportunities that they have available. With just a couple of clicks, you're able to invest in innovative startups, real estate deals, etc. Thanks to this app, private investing is more accessible than ever and I’m excited to see what new features they’ll be rolling out!

And I cannot get a hold of anybody at this app to help me. I’m trying to invest money but I can’t get help doing so? You think if they were going to be in business and they had investor that wanna do invest six figures that they would contact them back but they don’t. They also don’t have a phone number where you can call them if you have an issue! I recommend not using this platform and finding another platform that works and where you can find help because I’ve been trying for weeks and can’t get anybody to talk to me!

No search feature in app. If there is one, there is still a problem because it’s hidden and not in a natural location. I’ve been trying to find an investment recommended by a colleague. You can apply filters but then you have to scroll. The process of endlessly scrolling to find something (without search feature) is time consuming and frustrating. Btw, they even sent me a link. The link opens Republic but doesn’t take me to the investment. It takes me to the home page. Please fix your app.

Before this app, I used to get jealous of all of the people who got the opportunity to invest in the next Facebook or Tesla. Now, I can invest in ambitious companies on my phone! this app is the perfect way to explore the world of startups from my phone. Will definitely be pinning this to my homepage!

I give it 3.75 stars. You would’ve got 5 stars but I can’t stand the fact there’s no search button. It’s incredibly hard to find exactly what you are looking for. That’s annoying and time consuming. You can look it up in your portfolio but you can click it to look it up unless you’re on the internet explorer. Fix that and I’ll give you 5 stars and edit this comment. Thanks guys!

Love to invest in ideas, companies, and/or products and seeing the faces behind them. Having access to the business plan, projections, etc helps me finalize my decision. Reduces my chances of investing in the wrong thing.

App is no longer opening after I updated.

I am really happy that you are leading in Reg. CF and have improved a lot in the companies offered to the investors. Can you please display “Days remaining” for the companies that are closing soon same as you displayed in the website...... That one improvement will be highly appreciated.......

Republic is ok, but this app is a highly unreliable company at this point. They changed terms of an agreement after investments were closed, didn’t finalize the investment after it was closed, canceled an investment only to reopen it under another name, won’t help in communicating with a company they have a joint venture with that didn’t pay dividends…seems like a highly risky investment platform that takes investors money and hinds behind the idea of risk as reason to not follow through with contractual terms.

Republic is simple, no frills, but it does help you check up on everything you would need to with relative ease. A nice addition for some quick checking in.

Real cool app with a great and simplistic user interface. Very easy to find brand/company info and love that you could talk with other investors. Only issue that I see so far is that you aren’t able to get audio on the company’s pitches (don’t know if that’s only with me tho). Apart from that I love it tho and great app 💯🙏🏾

Republic is user friendly and the navigation is very intuitive. As a feature request I would live to be able to see the public investment of the people you are following currently you can only do that on the website.

Been waiting for so long for this app to come out with an app. They finally did - and it doesn’t disappoint !! Such a cool way to invest in startups. So easy to do in-app. Love this.

this app and their app have made it easy and most importantly, comfortable to access and fund opportunities never available a short time ago. I can call myself a Venture Capitalist now and proud of it. I hope to make many companies reach their goals and dreams so we can prosper together.

I don’t know why but on Republic on my iPhone I cannot find any place to change the method of payment and the current credit card I have on there is been canceled because of fraud. I have no way to enter a new credit card number..

I love Republic and the opportunities it gives to its users. My only complaint is that I seem to always miss out on new, good deals. My in app notifications are on, but I always open Republic to find interesting companies fund raising “Sold Out”.

Can’t seem to find a search bar anywhere in Republic . Issues when attempting click-through from email, just general connectivity issues. Would appreciate these fixes so it’s easier to use your service.

Republic is awesome! Been waiting for it for a while, now I can literally become an equity investor in a startup or real estate with one click.

Asked for this for so long and it’s here! Sleek, clean, and easy to invest. Plus the deals are easier to read here than on the website.
