Clay – Story Templates Frames Reviews

I love Clay . It’s just the aesthetic I was looking for to revamp my Instagram content.
Unfortunately I just came across some bugs with Clay . I found a template that has a Polaroid featured in it. This is perfect for the photo I want to post. But the background of the template doesn’t load up.
I found issues with a few more templates; either the background didn’t load or I couldn’t upload a photo when I selected the + sign. It was as if Clay froze but it wasn’t.
I turned my phone off a couple of times thinking maybe I needed to refresh my phone but it didn’t work. I’m guessing Clay is experiencing some bugs. If that is the case I will like for it to be fixed ASAP being that it is causing some inconvenience with my content calendar. I paid a yearly subscription because I really feel it’s worth it but if this is what I have to look forward to every now and then, then it lowers the value of Clay in my opinion.

Clay has a great concept but is not fully developed. There a lot of bugs. Typing is awful. It doesn’t have a cursor. It’s not responsive. After figuring out ways to get around it and you finally save it, it uploads to Instagram differently. The fonts don’t align and are hard to read. I’ve played around and used every font possible just to see and they all upload differently or squished. Also, there’s no way of saving creations/projects to your own folder so if you want to edit, you have to start from scratch. Which of course will take you forever since it doesn’t do anything it should. Honestly, this was the worst $20 I’ve ever spent.

The curated content presets are aesthetically pleasing and definitely worth the $25 yearly subscription plan. Unfortunately, the bugs on Clay make editing the presets almost impossible. The text feature is not the same as promoted in the ad video, the cursor is hard to navigate, I can not change any background colors, I can not upload pictures to use of my own, etc. the list goes on. The bugs make Clay almost completely unusable, they should be fixed ASAP.

This is honestly the crappiest app. Super buggy. I put a combined 2-3 hours into trying to make my images, which was extraordinarily frustrating since halfway through the procedure the whole app randomly closes. I tried this several times with changing things on my end, but it’s just a bad app. The only way I was able to finish a flyer was by downloading Canva and doing it there. I’d give 0 stars if I could, but they already have $60 from me so I don’t think they care. “7-day trial” is actually 6-day, so be sure you unsubscribe immediately once you realize it’s trash. I marked it on my calendar, and they already cashed me out. Go get Canva, thank me later.

I really want to like Clay, the templates are gorgeous. However the mechanics are terrible. Text is impossible to place where I need it and trying to edit existing text is impossible. The next screen shows up completely blank, the only solution is to delete the text entirely and start again. Was definitely not worth the subscription price, which I had to pay to even get into Clay in the first place. Unless these issues are sorted out soon, I’m incredibly disappointed and feel as though I’ve just wasted my money on this.

I love the aesthetic look of all the templates but I find it some backgrounds don’t load. It would also be nice to be able to chose the size of the picture you want to use and how much it covers the template. Some backgrounds are so beautiful but the picture size is just to small to be able to have it look nice. I feel we should be able to put it how we would like specially since we pay for it.

I downloaded the free post and there was no background and that background was supposed to be free , I had to restart the creating of the post multiple times , and it was difficult to customize the text , however the selection options are amazing and the free options aren’t bad at all I wish their were more free options. Clay is definitely for someone wanting to take their social media to the next level.

Clay is so perfect in many ways — it’s beautiful, well designed, has very trendy and “in” templates to work with which is amaaaazing if you’re in e-commerce.

HOWEVER. Clay falls short on mechanics. I uninstalled and reinstalled twice but still couldn’t get it to work. It was as if Clay wasn’t recognizing the touch on my screen. Nothing would work when I tapped it. Well, it was extremely moody so sometimes it did and sometimes it didn’t.

I’m not sure what’s going on with Clay itself but I hope a developer or someone in charge of tech can look at it soon. I was questioning the state of my phone, but my touchscreen is working perfectly outside of the Highlight Covers app. :/

I’ll definitely change my review when this gets fixed, because I love EVERYTHING else about Clay and would even consider buying the paid version once the technical difficulties are sorted out.

Clay looks like it will have a lot of options, but the templates are barely customizable. almost everything in Clay is like a tan/neutral color scheme. If that’s the look you’re going for, you might like this. But for people who are used to apps like Unfold, Canvas, etc. where you’re able to manipulate things and cater them to your liking, this will be a grave disappointment. You’re better off just using other free options. This is NOT worth 20$ per year, and they do not have any way of seeing what all they offer before paying, nor do they do refunds. Disappointing.

I have been using Clay for months with few issues except for recently. I am a premium subscriber yet every time I open Clay I am prompted to upgrade to premium. This is preventing me from using the premium templates and other features. I tried to delete and re-download Clay but the issues are persistent despite my efforts to troubleshoot and correct them. I would certainly appreciate a response or a solution to my concerns.

Clay would be really great if it would work. Half the time I sit waiting for the picture to load or to finally upload and save to my camera roll and sometimes it doesn’t and the screen ends up turning white with the loading sign and I end up having to close out Clay and start over just so it can do it again. I love the features and what it can do but there’s definitely a huge lag that needs to be fixed ASAP! I paid for the subscription and would like to get my money’s worth. Please fix these bugs.!

And there aren’t nearly enough free stuff in there. Come on now. I mean your stuff is really cute... but you’re not an Adobe software for crying out loud. Your price is the price of paying for Adobe Creative Cloud!! And this is just one app. I also use Clay UNFOLD and it’s pretty much the same as Clay, maybe better... and I’m willing to pay for Clay because it’s a very reasonable price. That’s all I have to say... except... hope you change the price. K bye.

I thought Clay was cool at first and i bought the subscription thinking it would charge me $1.99 a month (not knowing you had to choose a plan right away because it makes it sound like it’s only $1.99 a month), and immediately I was charged $20 which wasn’t what I wanted. I cancelled my subscription hoping for a refund, nothing changed. Then I went to email the contact they give on Clay to ask for a refund, but it said the email doesn’t exist. Would love if someone could help me out here

Really love Clay , very chic and aesthetic look. Now that they’re gone they’re requiring me to write this so I can download an image. do not waste your time with this. There’s a pop up that come up every two minutes so you can pay for the subscription.

Worth the money if you use Instagram often or have a business page. I’ve paid much more for advertising and this makes it much easier.

Clay seems easy enough to work with, but I can’t figure out how to change any of the colors on the background. I tried sending an email, but the address came back invalid? I’ve paid for a subscription, which I thought was the issue before, but I’m still not finding any way to alter the existing templates to be my color scheme.

Appears to be a great app and has some amazing templates to match a feminine minimalist aesthetic. However, the lack of customization options, fixed color palettes, and no ability to save a draft or view previously designed content makes absolutely no sense!! The point of Clay is to create content....everyone’s brand will not have the same colors or want to have the same images.

I love Clay, I’m just having one problem. I usually proof write on notes to paste on to this app but it glitches and shuts down on me. Other than that I love the quality, design and it’s easy to search in it.

I love the lay out of Clay. It’s so modern and chic. I downloaded Clay with hopes of using it to market my future business. The downside is indeed the poor mechanics. I find it hard to add pictures to certain layouts. It only gives me the option to change the font or color. I can’t resize anything and I would like the option to add additional photos. I’m hoping that these features get fixed I’d really love to use it!

The templates are absolutely gorgeous and exactly what I was looking for. I also appreciate that it has simple functionalities as I am a beginner and not very techie; however, certain key features would make Clay incredible. Please add a way to track your favorites, and a way to remove the boxes for photos. It would also be great if you could save changes you made to a template in Clay instead of downloading it each time. Thanks!

Even before purchasing, Clay gives a wide variety of fonts for lettering, styles of background colors & even included outlines to create the story I wanted without any ads or disruptions :) I would defs recommend to a friend.

Beyond beautiful templates and I was so excited to use this. However everything I’ve opened Clay , I have yet to be able to use it. The load indicator never goes away when I click on a template. Sooo.... is it worth the money to look at them? You decide.
My phone is new and updated and no other app lags and glitches out like this.

Thanks to these guys my higlight covers are unique and cool. They have amazing templates and you can even edit them. I love to feel free in apps that I use. I think that these apps have great designers in their team. But, I need more higlight covers!!♥️♥️♥️♥️ Download more!!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

I never write reviews, but I was so disappointed with Clay. You think you’re getting a lot for the $20 and you don’t get many templates at all. So many templates that says “coming soon.” Plus I changed the background on one, saved it, but it was still showing up as the original background. I then tried to contact their email that they have and it’s not even valid!

This ap is taking my business to the next level highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get creative and have a stylish professional look!

As a former paying customer, Clay was was disappointing because Clay is not consistently functional. It’s pretty frustrating to have to recreate a post multiple times because the background, text, share, or download isn’t working. It’s also upsetting because the templates are beautiful.

Seems good wish there were additional features! I'm used by many company's as a Bata tester so I will be glad to work with you!

I paid $20 for Clay to not work for me. Functions barely operate, and the other half the time Clay won’t even load.

App has so much potential but make it free for users until you can figure out how to get it up and running at a fully functioning level.

Hopefully I will be refunded for this purchase.

Easy to use and a good variety of options to choose from.

The mechanics of Clay are lacking, especially when it comes to recognizing touch. However, the designs are really well-done, so that’s the only reason why I’d consider keeping it.

I am really tired of schemes that app makers like you guys participate in on this platform. You guys charge me 20 bucks because I forgot to cancel my subscription? I’m tired of this. Clay was no where near worth paying 20 bucks. Obviously, I’m wrong for forgetting to cancel my free trail subscription, but your app is not worth 20 bucks. You got me though!!! Great job!!! I was using the free trial, but then my phone broke. On my new phone can’t even access app even though it says my subscription doesn’t expire until August 21,2020. WHAT A WASTE paying for something you can’t even have access to. Other than this issue it was cool and easy to use. WISH I HAD ACCESS. Please fix this bug or give me a refund.
