Great content; seriously overpriced
I did the first three days of daily mindfulness videos. It starts with a video explaining a mindfulness concept and is followed by a short (or long, depending on your preference) guided meditation. I have to say I found the content compelling, insightful, and engaging. However, after your first three sessions, you have no access to any further content unless you sign up for the most wildly overpriced subscription I’ve ever seen in an app. $96/year is a little insane, especially compared to the many free alternatives. I’ve decided that instead of springing for this quality, but costly, content, to stick with Balance, another meditation app I’ve used that’s completely free to use and still totally life-changing. If the price comes down in future, which I expect it will eventually have to, then I will reconsider paying for these videos, which I did thoutoghly enjoy and benefit from. Thank you and best of luck!
Soothing and understanding
I find these meditations so much more comprehensive than others because the teachers speak in plain and relatable language. Their words allow you to be forgiving to your flaws in practice or if you are struggling with a specific concept their kind words are incredibly loving and understanding. In a world where everyone and everything feels against you at times, these meditations are just a reminder that there are people that truly care and their words are authentic and human. It means a lot to have this app actor me even if just for a moment.
Chose to do with eyes open this time. We had a heavy rain this morning and last night. The rain has filled all the puddles with fresh clean water. The debris from the evergreens float softly framing the outline like its own picture window. The water ripples with drops that have still clung to the trees, also as the catch the latest of breeze! The grass after a dry patch seems to green in front of my eyes as it soaks in the new moister and now shining sun! The birds sing the crow caws and the butterfly flutters! Thank you for helping me experience this moment in whole........well, with very little monkey mind!🤗
After trying multiple apps I found the one !
I was introduced to Cory Muscara by dr. Scott Barry Kaufman in his “transcend” course. His humble demeanor and deep insights are so endearing and effective. His teachings and meditations have kept me strong through the pandemic ( I’m a front line health care worker ) I recently asked and he said his main platform is this app. I just tried the meditation by his other counterpart and it’s also very calming and effective. So I’m happy to find my new meditation resource which I highly recommend !
Just Breathe, Take a Moment
Yes, when Cory sends out simple, do-able reminders with his calming, reassuring voice I can’t help but feel better. I actually love all things Cory! Let me clarify: his day retreats here on Long Island where I first met him, his online resources, his Practicing Human podcast, his Stop Missing Your Life book and his daily reminders now part of this Mindfulness app. And to be honest, his sparkling eyes and smile on the videos can’t help me but smile, breathe, and just take a moment. Thank you, Cory.
This meditation is simple and really helps me be reminded to focus on one thing at a time. Hearing her say not to glance at my phone while speaking with another person is something I often do... it was a painful reminder of not only being impatient but sending a signal to the other person that I’m not really paying attention (how rude!) Just knowing that now has created an awareness to eliminate that trigger to improve my focus! Thank you!
Meditation defeats rumination that leads to depression.
Negative rumination has been a major contributor to my borderline depression for most of my life. As Stephen Ilardi, PhD, says in The Depression Cure- the six step program to beat depression without drugs, “Depression is closely linked to the toxic thought process called rumination-the habit of dwelling on negative thoughts, turning them over and over in your mind.” Mindfulness meditation is teaching me not to fight those negative thoughts but to detach from their hold in a more peaceful way.
Practical, customizable meditations
I’ve done 5 days of the 7 free days and they just keep getting better. The presentation as a little introduction each day, followed by a meditation where I can choose the length to be 6, 10, 15 or 20 mins works really well for me. I have some prior experience with different mindfulness meditation classes. I like how this one customizes to my specific needs and time available. Very supportive!
To be honest, it’s been quite a while since I’ve visited Mindfulness- I found that once my home practice settled in, that addition outside influences were a distraction more than help- odd isn’t it? Melli you’ve grown- and mellowed since I’ve heard you last. I enjoyed your analogy today and find your voice to be clear, articulate, and easy to listen to; so important (to me) got a meditation leader to have that trifecta. Thank you- I look forward to completing this exercise with you all. DW
Overall great app
The app has the features you need for a beginning practice or to enhance your current practice. The audio quality is excellent. The topics for daily mindfulness are clear and concise, allowing you to incorporate simple concepts into your meditation practice and more importantly, into your daily life. The timer feature allows you to choose to meditate without guidance on the days you choose.
I find this app so useful in my daily life- When I need a moment to calm and refocus/realign. I am gaining tools and insights that lead to positive changes-mindfulness to my own. Which is soo beneficial right now I totally recommend this app to anyone who is struggling and in need of fresh perspective to managing stress! The calming voices that guide the meditations really help to sink into a moment and then guide you through to a peaceful transition of thought. I love it!!
The only meditations that I can do
Cory’s meditations are the only ones that don’t make me want to hit the stop button. Meditation can be something that feels really impossible for me. There’s just something in his tone and his choice of words that I am able to understand and process.I am able to calm down long enough to listen and actually think about what he’s saying. Thank you so much.
A practical approach to a more peaceful mind
I’ve only just begun to dip my toe into meditation and mindfulness practices. Even so, I have already felt confident that this approach will continue to be something which I can consistently embrace and employ as I start and end my day. I’m no fan of “woo-woo,” and this application is a practical way to reorient my thoughts and language to reduce the habit of evaluation, and become more accepting of the present moment.
