🏷️ About:
Mail App for Gmail is a brand new app for the next generation of Gmail. It’s perfect for quickly triaging your inbox and uses Gmail’s blazing fast new platform to instantly send and receive messages.
The Gmail update: So many negatives! 😲Often freezes even when perfect internet connection. 😲The advertisement for merging several emails pops on screen often. 😲Cannot send an email after composing. 😲Freezes when composing an email and cannot complete! 😲Even with great email service and connections, extremely slow to download emails! 😲Extremely dissatisfied! 😲Cannot enlarge text size simply by touching the screen and moving figures outward. 😲Not user friendly!

With so many free email clients, even native apps for gmail (… and Apple, and Microsoft) it just amazes me that some developers push subscription only apps. A reasonable one-time payment— sure; but not subscriptions. Given all the free choices, there is nothing a subscription app could offer to get me to subscribe.
Misleading and overpriced

MailApp logo is very deceptive and, if I were Google, I’d force them to change it. It looks like the native Gmail logo that hasn’t finished installing. It fools people into using it and signing in only to discover it’s not an official Gmail app but a paid subscription service! The price is listed by the week (another deceptive practice) and it’s over $10 per month! Most all other paid apps are priced monthly or even annually. No one needs to use MailApp, there are countless others that are better and many are cost free.
HELP

Please reach back to me , I recently made an account with the stock app public . The public app signed me out due to signal , I tried to reset my password but something is wrong with MailApp . The gmail I used keeps deactivating and keeps saying “push error “. when I tried to reset the password the notification doesn’t come in the mail ,I can’t reset my password meaning I can’t log back into the public stock app and I have 1000’s invested in there. Please reach back . If not I will take legal action.
This is literally just an app for checking my mail and every single time I open MailApp , they are asking me to purchase something that’s $2.50 a week. $130 for something that should absolutely be free. You’re paying for multiple accounts, a unified inbox, and live support 24/7. The amount of times they ask you to buy it is unbelievably annoying and it’s nothing more than worthless to me.
It’s missing a lot of features

It’s missing a lot of features that other free apps have.
Also once you archive An email, there’s no way to get back to the archive folder. You have to go to all mail, which shows you all your mail. This is useless. I put it in archive for a reason while keeping mail in my inbox for another.
Scam!!!!

I tried to cancel after an hour of realizing that I already had MailApp for free, each time I try it tells me their is an issue and try again later. I’ve written to the company and I’ve not getting anywhere. I do not want to be charged for a free app!!!!!!!!!!!
Annoying pop-up of upgrade purchase
2022-12-28
by EmptyHand0
Every time I open MailApp there is a pop-up of this upgrade purchase that I can’t disable. I don’t want to purchase anything or the pop-up. It is the most annoying and invasive tactic ever.
Cancel my app

Why is there no way to delete the Mail App for Gmail or the Mail productivity App on my iphone? And every time I look for my emails, your pop-up, pushing a free 3-day trial followed by a fee of $2.49 a week appears….with no method to permanently refuse this unwanted ‘service.’ So, now I wish I had not set up a Gmail account. An expert was helping me and picked the wrong app.
Missing Leading App didn’t stated before if it’s In app purchase/trail version

Missing Leading App didn’t stated before if it’s In app purchase nor a freaking trail version I don’t have time to waste time is money. Not only is apps and other apps should be either say it so when we are quickly browsing we would no. Of course I understand it’s free to download. But to use it really not. Free trial version are really not free because at the end of the trial you have to pay. So either you make a limited function version and a full function version.
A Joke

You guys are camouflaged as the Gmail app and not looking closely I downloaded this crap. Each time I open MailApp a pop up asks to purchase your service for a weekly subscription. Why the heck would I do that if Gmail is free for up to 5 individual addresses???!!! You need to be shutdown.
No way if signing out

Searching for the Google app this one appeared to be the free google app. However, after a very short free trial, it’s billed, per month. There is obvious note to Agee or disagree, and no way to cancel or prohibit access to my money.
Great app!

Design looks great and I support developers charging for their apps; however, be clear on what features you charge for. You have to upgrade to premium in order to get notifications. This is a fundamental feature and if you are going to charge for it you should clearly note that.
Missing key features

by Jfellis03
No personalization of swipe action No ability to change font size Cuts off content on long emails on iPhone X No online support in free version Folder listing does not allow for scrolling Paid version only allows multiple emails, unified inbox and live support- seems meager option to pay for Premium

I paid for the previous Airmail iPhone app and feel like I got robbed. MailApp was incredibly buggy & the bugs were never fixed. It felt like MailApp was abandoned. Trust me, don’t waste your money.
Subscription? Not gonna happen.

I'm supposed to pay every month until I die to check my email? Are you serious?
Don't even try to give me that "poor developers need to survive" BS. You write an app and charge for it. The end. You want more money? You write a significant update and you charge for that. The end.
I'm supposed to pay $10 a year for every single app on my phone/Mac until I die? I don't think so.
Hideous. MailApp was gone in 3 minutes from my phone when I couldn’t figure it out and I think I am pretty smart.
I’m reminded of a MASH episode when Zake builds a surgical clamp for the surgeons and it applies to the developers
“Go back to your drawing board....and blow it up”

Is ready paid for and use Airmail. So why would I pay $9.99 a year for another email client from the same developer for what looks like Gmail or Inbox. You can’t even test out Murillo email accounts unless you go premium.
Why am I being asked to pay?

Brand new app... doesn’t have everything old app has and yet I’m being asked to pay monthly? I already own previous app. Airmail is iffy and I’m on edge of switching just can’t find something as good even tho Airmail is sluggish on my XS max. Howwwwww.
I’ll keep MailApp installed and hidden... hopefully things will change and update over time
No more subscriptions

For something like an email client I just can’t bring myself to pay a subscription. This is amplified by Bloop’s track record on the last airmail for iOS application which got updates every 3-6 months if you were lucky, and never got core features people asked for like dark mode. Overall, this is too little, too late for too much.
It's a start...

Let me start by saying I own and have used Airmail, Airmail 2, and Airmail 3.
Aside from the fact that I've paid for them all and I've got subscription fatigue, this client offers nothing unique, so I can't see why I'd pay for it. So far you can't configure swipes, the actions from Airmail aren't there, etc. This really isn't a full client and it surely isn't worth more per year than Airmail 3 is perpetually. Also, there are free clients that are far better and this one struggles to set itself apart.
That said, it's far prettier than AM3 and "feels" more iOS-like, so I'm hopeful this evolves into something better. I had started using Edison Mall as my primary after getting crushed with the aging look and feel of v3.
It's a good start, bit more of a beta than a proper app. The free version is far too hobbled. I mean... no notifications?! I can't recommend this to anyone, paid or not, right now. But good luck to the team on evolving this!
The original Airmail had some great features but was also struggling in terms of quality. I stopped using it after a while because it lost drafts and its message composer was a mess.
I was glad to see the team decided to start over and I’m sure that with the lessons learned from the first edition they’ll build something great, but this initial version is the barest of bare minimums.
The original had a robust set of actions that worked with a variety of apps and services to help process email into actionable items or turn messages into useful notes, etc.
This edition lets you swipe to archive or delete messages. There are no other actions. It trails other mail apps that have come along since the original Airmail by a great deal.
I’m sure a ground-up rewrite in a new framework is an accomplishment for the developers, but I don’t see what this does for me that I don’t get from the Gmail app, Apple’s Mail app, or something like Spark, which all exceed it in features.
I may keep this tucked away in a utility folder to see if it progresses, but I can’t see using it day to day until some of the original features—especially all the actions—go back in.

I already own every version of Airmail. On both Mac and iOS. I’m not paying any more without a major evolution in either UI or functionality. Right now, MailApp is missing half the functionality that already exists in Airmail... is this the new Kickstarter?
Feels slow, weird UI
2024-11-21
by The Archpadre
The open-message animation feels painfully slow. Sign-in to Gmail with SSO took forever.
Almost didn’t find the settings. Was looking for a gear or a set of sliders, and eventually clicked on the unlabeled, gray toggle button on a whim. Turns out that was the settings button.
Just tried drafting an email. After setting the “to” field, the X that just a moment ago would’ve closed the email now dismisses the address select UI. 😕
I’ve used Airmail on and off (mostly on) for years, but this doesn’t seem ready to ship. I’ll give it another try after it’s matured a bit.
Need improvements

Like: - It is linked directly to your Gmail which is very convenient. - It can save all your recipients’ Gmail account automatically in a systematic list in the contacts section. -Auto Load Remote Images an be turned off and on manually in the advanced section to suit the users’ needs.
Dislike: - Live support only available for premium package. So the free version does not have live support. - Can only use 1 account at a time for the free version.
This isn’t a replacement for your favorite client.
It’s a snappy, easy, straight forward experience that lets you archive and delete as fast as you want.
People seem to be comparing this to a full fledged client.
I’m just happy to have a quick way to zero out my inbox by deleting or archiving. This thing is FAST.
