Problem with latest upgrade

Low rating is for problem with upgrade. I use UCLAMindful every day and love it. But now The 12 minute breath sound body meditation stops as soon as phone goes to sleep. This has never been an issue until this upgrade. Not sure if this happens with other meditations on UCLAMindful as I always use the 12 minute one. Please fix!!

The podcast worked much better for me.

1) Their weekly sessions were available as a podcast until 2018. I have no idea why it ended. All the episodes are updated on the MARC website, publishing them as a podcast requires no extra effort.

2) UCLAMindful does not allow sessions to be downloaded, they must be re-streamed each time.

3) UCLAMindful is extraneous for my usage. I already have a podcast manager that I like, with better basic features for the way I listen.

App stopped working when phone screen locks

I love UCLAMindful and often use the body scan meditation for sleep. I’ve been able to start the meditation and then run it during screen lock. That function suddenly stopped working. Disappointed.

Comment on Vietnamese

I appreciate your efforts to guide the meditation in many languages. I really enjoy the English ones. However, since I am also in listening to Vietnamese. The voice is very nice, and there’s one thing that need to be improved. Could you please work on the pausing point for every sentence? It’d be better if you work with a native speaker, they’d show you how to pause correctly so that listeners would follow the instructions easily. Looking forward to hearing improved guided meditation.

Grateful for this App + More voice diversity please!

I’m so incredibly grateful and thankful to UCLA for creating UCLAMindful and providing these resources. The meditations are really helpful. I like that there is a variety in the types of meditations, lengths, and focus areas. It’s really easy to use and a wonderful resource. If there’s an opportunity in the future to record more meditations it would be amazing if they could add a variety of voices from people of diverse ethnicities and genders.

Ding!

good app just some suggestions, can remove the ding at the end? seems counter productive to have a loud ding at the end of some of the tracks? can’t rewind incrementally either must start over. other than that pretty helpful

Next best thing to being there...

I started attending the live guided meditations almost 10 years ago and it changed my understanding of meditation entirely. When I moved to SF, I downloaded many of the meditations from the website to help me continue. Now UCLAMindful is a part of my daily practice and having it all on my phone means I can take 5 minutes any time of day to drop in. And Diana’s voice seals the deal for me. Hearing her takes me back to those early days at the Billy Wilder. Thank you, Diana!

Please add to list of mindful minute health apps

I love UCLAMindful, it’s kept me centered and connected but would be even better if apple would link it to the health app to track your time

Trustworthy teachers. Evidence-based techniques.

Having practiced for over a decade, I find that UCLA has the most high-quality, trustworthy, research-based mediation — all offered for free. It seems too good to be true, but their teachers genuinely want to spread the practice to the world. 5 stars!

Simple and elegant

My introduction to mindfulness six years ago came through Diana Winston’s podcasts and I still come back to them on a regular basis. Delighted to know there is now a well-designed app to keep up with them. And the timer is a great touch!

Free and so useful

UCLAMindful is free! There’s no need to pay for Calm. UCLAMindful has guided meditation and offers multiple languages. Download it, then use it for a few minutes when you feel overwhelmed. It helps!

Thank You UCLA Mindful!

I was prescribed daily guided meditations for my reoccurrence of treatment resistant depression - I do all the Health & Wellness guided meditations twice daily and has been a big help to me - I use them in conjunction with meds and daily walking routine. Thank you for making this free🙏

Fantastic Meditation app

I’ve been listening to the podcasts for a couple years and love this easy to access and bookmarkable app. The quality of mediations are excellent. UCLAMindful is simple and easy to navigate.

Thank you for the work you do.

Comfortable

UCLAMindful is comprehensive but uncomplicated. I especially like the podcasts which are relatable, informative and actually help me remember I am not alone with my worries and troubles. Self-learning meditation is so much easier with this particular app and less daunting and time consuming, than weeding through the internet. It is formatted in such a way that it does feel more personal and tailored than I would have expected.

Fantastic Meditation App

High quality meditations available for free from UCLA. Really like the ones from Diana Winston and colleagues. Nicely designed app. You can bookmark the meditations you’re interested in doing. It takes a minute for the podcast to load, so you just have to practice mindfulness until it starts playing.

Save your money from all the subscription based meditation apps and just use this.

UCLAMindful is 100% free, and it has many great guided meditations you can use. Don’t bother with all those fancy subscription-based apps that are designed to extract money from as many users as possible. UCLAMindful is the real deal.

Great app from mindfulness meditations

All of these meditations for me are wonderful. The five minute basic meditation is great doesn’t take a lot of time and makes for a very different and better day. Diana Winston who narrates has a wonderful voice and pacing. I highly recommend this meditation series and there’s many to pick from so you can vary them and not get bored.

Love this APP!

Thank you for developing UCLAMindful! I enjoy listening to the meditations and podcasts!
My only complaint is I can’t listen to anything on airplane mode! Am I doing something wrong?
I would pay to be able to download what I want to listen to on my phone! Perhaps, I just don’t understand how?’
This is one of the best mindfulness based resources available!

Diana Winston is so comforting

I wish I’d known about UCLAMindful sooner. Diana Winston has such a calm and balanced presence. I like having just one teacher or just a few people to rely on and hear each day. Some other meditation apps have way too many different people doing meditations. I prefer this style. Easy to navigate, simple to use and reliable.

Wonderful

I can’t say enough good things about UCLAMindful which is full of guided meditations. Calming, rejuvenating, inspiring. They are doing great work at UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center. Thank you for making UCLAMindful accessible to all!
