PhilipsHueBluetooth i cool but the only downside about it is the update takes forever! I’ve literally been waiting over an hour for it to update 1 lightbulb and it’s barely halfway. Yes,I have connection to the Internet my lights are plugged in and everything, and my internets not slow I checked the mph so it has to be PhilipsHueBluetooth .. but other than that it’s pretty cool just wish the updates wouldn’t take hours for just one lightbulb..
(update)
and to add to it I guess you guys don’t care about your reviews because I don’t see one response to any of your recent comments you must not care about the outcome of your app just the money as they claimed in the comments .. just horrible and because of that it’s going down to 1 star because that’s very unprofessional

I’ve had these lights for years and I’m always super impressed with the responsiveness. Before this last update I had nothing bad to say about the lights or PhilipsHueBluetooth ! But now, changing the color all of the lights at once without picking a scene is much messier and non-intuitive. If I want all the lights to be purple, but I don’t have a scene set for it, I have to pick each one individually and set it, rather than them bundling together like it used to. (Also it seems to always default to the white color wheel rather than the ambiance one… which I also have to switch). It’s nit-picky, but the update makes my experience more time consuming, and it seemingly took away my favorite feature that could easily be integrated back in.

I like the bulbs. The price is reasonable, and I love being able to dim a bulb or turn on only one in a room because I have migraines with light sensitivity. But after working with Alexa, for a while, all the bulbs stopped connecting. I have to use the hue app, which is frustrating because there’s no voice control. A friend of mine has the same issue. They’ll work for a few months with Alexa and then no longer work at all. Other Bluetooth bulbs don’t seem to have this problem. For this reason, I wouldn’t buy them again. I’d buy a more reliable bulb that would work with Alexa.

My biggest issue with PhilipsHueBluetooth is that I have frequent issues with using my Google mini to turn my bulbs on, despite establishing the connection through PhilipsHueBluetooth . Because of this, I often have to remove my bulbs from the Google home app and then go back into PhilipsHueBluetooth to reconnect them. On top of that, PhilipsHueBluetooth doesn’t have widgets that can make turning on the lights significantly easier, especially when they disconnect from my Google mini. Instead, I have to open PhilipsHueBluetooth to turn them on when an added widget would have been easier to implement. I was using cheaper bulbs from another company and even they provided a widget that allows you to turn the bulbs on and off, all without unlocking your screen.

A routine would be expected to repeat everyday - but they turn themselves off after each use. So I have to manually flip a switch on my phone twice a day unless I buy more expensive products from them. Can't select to change wake up times on weekends to be different than weekdays. Loses connection with bulbs after leaving the room. The light itself is pretty. The colors are nice. PhilipsHueBluetooth just hasn't been made to work properly with them. Sadly, they also disconnect permanently from Alexa after tuning the switch on and off one time.

It works great and I don’t really have any troubles starting up PhilipsHueBluetooth . I only gave it 4 stars because it could have more options with the light.
For example, like letting there be an option where we can set the time and day when the light turns on (ie. I want my light to turn on Monday to Friday at 5 AM). But since there’s no option like this, like any scheduling, especially for the week and making a week routine, it’s reduced as too simple of an app.
I hope they add these options! Not all of us have the Echo Dot either, so it wouldn’t be able to work for most of us.

I use my hue bulb in the lamp on my bedside table. I use it to go to sleep at night and wake up in the morning. I love the soft yellows/oranges to go to sleep and the bright whitish/blue tones in the morning. I do however have some complaints about the timers - I would really like to see there be an update that allows you to adjust the “fade in” timers to exactly the number of minutes you want instead of in just 10, 20 or 30 minute increments. This is quite irritating, it’s such a simple thing. Please do this in the next update!

I’ve never had this product work properly with Bluetooth. It will work when I unplug it from the socket and plug it back in, but once I return home after leaving it on it never connects. It will connect one light but never the other. Or sometimes it doesn’t connect at all. If they advertise this being a feature I wish it would work much better.
The positive is PhilipsHueBluetooth , its great with different settings already ready for you to play with. There’s multiple ambiance’s they curated for you and it’s easy to navigate through. The lights it creates illuminates my room perfectly.

I do like the overall functionality of PhilipsHueBluetooth but wish I could program days I want certain routines to be run and a routine for turning on/off before/after running of a routine. As it stands I have to turn the light on every night then set sunset routine while I get ready. Then in the morning, have to turn off after the sunrise routine has completed. It seems to have more functionality if you get the hue connected version which seem a shame can’t get better functionality with the bluetooth versions.

The new update has fixed the faulty connection to the light bulb. I was able to update my lights and finally set them on timers.
Previous version:
I absolutely hate this brand. This is the second time i try it out but the light bulb cannot stay connected. It constantly is disconnecting and reconnecting. I try to set the timer and it needs an update. I try the update and it cannot update because it continues to disconnect . First attempt i was using an iphone 12 a years ago and now i tried again on an iphone 13. Still nothing. Just an overpriced regular light bulb.

I’ve used these kind of bulbs before from different brands and compared, the hue is actually really reliable. Other bulbs I’ve used have connectivity issues and others have had lag issues. The Phillips Hue is my absolutely favorite light! It never lags and it connects fast every time I open my app. The one time it didn’t connect, I just closed my app and it was fine when I opened it again. PhilipsHueBluetooth though oh my.. so many amazing preset colors! And I’ve made so many of my own preset colors. I write music, so that’s important to me when it comes to certain moods. Other apps I’ve used do not have this feature. I highly recommend both the light and PhilipsHueBluetooth !

We had tested another lightbulb before. But when we connected it up to the Wi-Fi it went out instantly. This set of lights and PhilipsHueBluetooth work seamlessly. Very impressed on how instantly it connects to my phone and I’m able to control my light very quickly and very seamlessly. I’m even able to set up lights to wake me up. PhilipsHueBluetooth looks incredible very welcoming and very well designed. I like how you can make different scenes for your lights. I also like that you don’t have to connect to the Wi-Fi to change your light. Perfect for my small apartment and not so fast Wi-Fi.
Excellent job Philips Hue!!!

I bought another brand lightbulb hoping that it be as simple as to pair my device to the lightbulb but that couldn’t of been so far from my expectations not only was PhilipsHueBluetooth too hard and complicated to use but the lightbulb wasn’t even compatible to my Wi-Fi then I bought a Phillips HUE thought the quality was unmatched compared to my previous bulbs the quality of the lightbulb itself but the sheer simplicity of PhilipsHueBluetooth it was enough to make me want to buy another thank you 🐐🐐🐐

I am so obsessed with these lights! The ambience they give to my home is incredible! I love how there aren’t fixed colors as well and you can customize whatever you would like on the color wheel including brightness and saturation. PhilipsHueBluetooth is flawless and I never need to leave my couch to change the lights. The only problem I’ve been experiencing is I cannot connect it to my Alexa. I tried everything and I will have to call customer service but otherwise, these lights are soooooooo good!

I was ready to be frustrated when I set out to set up this lightbulb. Especially without the hub or any of the accessories. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to connect the bulb to PhilipsHueBluetooth and get going without any setback. Aside from that, it’s wonderful to be able to control the warmth, color, and brightness of the light being given off. Honestly, I got this mostly out of laziness in that I wanted to be able to turn off a light in the bedroom without getting up. And for that and much more, this bulb is perfect.

I went to an Airbnb one time that had lots of these hue bulbs, it was so relaxing and soothing. I finally got one for my room and I’m still in love with it, I moved out of a terrible living situation and I’ve been struggling with trauma and healing from the experience, I need some form of light when I sleep, but not bright enough to keep me awake. Being able to change the color and dim the light has been so useful. I find the colors very therapeutic and helps me sleep better and feel safer. Thank you Phillips this product is amazing. I’m hoping to get more soon.

What can I say, these lights deliver on what they say they will do: deeply dimmable, LED lights that run the full color gamut. The phone control app is easy to use. I like that there are “scenes” that make different lights different colors to create gradients and dimension to the scene with one preset tap. These have been a great replacement for conventional LED lights when I want to roll back the harshness of my kitchen lights at night before the end of the evening or jazz things up with a red and blue glow while serving drinks. And with a 3 year warranty and the inherent ultra-reliability and long life of modern LEDs it’s worth the money.

Our home was build in 1877. The lighting is not quite that old, but early 1900’s fixtures are hard to replace and plaster ceilings crumble when when removing such things. We were brainstorming ways to retro fit the original porcelain fixture-all because of a stripped out pull chain and no wall switch tied into the ceiling lights. We literally had to jump upon the bed to reach and screw the bulbs in and out to turn the lights on and off. Well, Hue Lights were the perfect solution. We retain the charm of our original fixture and now can turn the bulbs on from our Google device. That’s a gamechanger.
by Onstage1984
As soon as I screw the lightbulb in and turned on the switch it worked instantly Bluetooth connected super fast colors change quick not a lot of functionality but that is because it is on Bluetooth getting the hub and seeing how much more functionality that brings to the table but all of the product great if you don’t wanna hub and you just want a nice Bluetooth light also good if you want to get into smart lights without paying the premium of the whole set up you can always add the bridge later

Incredibly easy set up! After purchasing an off brand version of this bulb that resulted in a failed attempt and a weekend of headache, I can now appreciate and understand why these bulbs are the premier choice. My only comment is by trial and error I came across the proper Bluetooth app that successfully connected the bulbs. It didn’t stand out to me initially that there were two different apps to connect the bulbs two different ways. A very minor thing, but resulting in downloading two apps before figuring that part out. Overall great experience!

I bought two lights, (100$) worth and connected and synced them through PhilipsHueBluetooth. The colors look good, however half of the light options do not work properly! One of the lights blinks and then always reverts back to the default warm lamp color, even though I’ll have the setting to something cool like blood moon ect. This is definitely not ok considering the bulbs are 50$ a piece! I at least expect PhilipsHueBluetooth and color options to work! Will be getting my money back immediately if nothing can get changed

Tried everything to connect my new Bluetooth philips hue lightbulb to my Echo Dot 3rd gen. It can connect to the hue BT app just fine but not to my Alexa app not through the voice control. It says that the light bulb isn’t discoverable even when I hit make discoverable button. I know this is a new thing, so please just fix it. Either make the lightbulb more discoverable or add a hue Bluetooth app to the Alexa skills cuz the one in Alexa only has the one that requires a hub. Just disappointed tbh.

PhilipsHueBluetooth looks nice and easy to use but without timers..... what’s the point? I think adding timers for the lights (individually or grouped ) would definitely attract more customers. Competitors apps offer timers , why not Phillips if you start selling Bluetooth lights?
Another great option , like other people who reviewed your app mentioned, would be to enable the bulbs to create moods that change gradually the colors on a loop. I would definitely buy your bulbs ...... but not if your app is not more functional at least with timers. I’ll stick with my Lucero bulbs until then.

Being able to use PhilipsHueBluetooth to control the lights is great. Also, this should go without saying but for the sake of accuracy — installation was quick and easy. They are lightbulbs after all.
However, one of the best features of these Bougie lighbulbs is that you can pair them with Amazon’s Alexa or Google Home’s whatever it’s called.
Sadly, I’ve had two of these bulbs in a beautiful living room lamp. It’s sad because I still can’t get them paired with Alexa. I’ve updated both bulbs software. I followed what little instructions the lightbulbs include. Yes, that’s also a knock on this product.
3/5 is exactly what these deserve. Great quality lightbulb. Bright. Clean. However, one of the best parts and why people purchase these bulbs is for the voice assistant pairing: which is, for me, inaccessible.

App works but only provides basic functionality for the bulb. My primary motivation for buying a Hue bulb was to set up my bedside lamp for an automated sunrise in the morning. The hue bridge seemed like overkill to control a single bulb, so I thought the Bluetooth version could be a good option. However, while PhilipsHueBluetooth lets you manually control the hue and brightness of the bulb, you cannot use it to program any automated light cycles. Guess you need the bridge for that.

Had a hard time getting my Echo Dot to recognize one of my two light bulbs. Even called Echo support and they couldn’t figure it out. Waited a half hour for Hue support and never got an answer. The next day, I tried resetting that bulb and that did it. Worked great since then. Now I can just tell Alexa which lights to turn on and how bright. Pretty awesome.

I love the color and brightness of my Hue bulb! It’s truly an amazing (albeit overpriced) product and PhilipsHueBluetooth is very intuitive to use. However, I do with there were more options. You can only set the bulbs to one color, and I was hoping a pulse or multi-color pallet option would be available. I use these with my Nanoleaf Aurora light panels, and as they flow between different colors it can make the hue bulbs stand out strange. Light animations would be a very welcome update, but otherwise a great app!

These are great bulbs. I love the ability to change the color (fun) but what is really great is that they go above 5000k so that I can get some mimicking of daylight. Great when there is no window in your office.
Just a few things:
1) app with a switch for the Apple Watch so that the lights can be turned (at a minimum) on and off to the last setting with the watch.
2) the ability to set a timer and wake-up light so that the lights can come on in the morning.
3) settings which show the color temperature in scientific terms rather that just sliders so you can know what temp the color is, etc.

Just installed the light system and found it to Be as easy as they have suggested. I am starting out in my office and in my master bedroom and I am some what satisfied, so far.. I am looking forward to not only using but expanding the light system throughout my house.

Our son got this bulb for us because we like to travel, but leave the impression of being at home. We had used timers, remote controlled devices, etc. This is so much easier, plus I can turn on or off from my tablet when in another room. The bulb can also be adjusted in brilliance, a really good feature.

I love these bulbs!!! So have you ever been in the bed reading or something and literally in and out of sleep with your lights on and not wanted to get up to turn them off!? Well, this is the solution. I LOVE THESE BULBS! They even have a night light mode. I’m tell you, as a normal everyday 9-5 type person, these are amazing!

I am loving my experience with my new Philips Hue light bulb. So much in fact Im about to purchase a new one along with the strip. The only draw back, so far, was PhilipsHueBluetooth froze on me after my phone screen timed out, but it started back workimg fine. This is my first day using it so I hope everything keeps working okay.

We live in an apartment and with a baby it’s super nice being able to dim the lights when it’s time to wind down and relax before bed instead of the room being completely dark. We love the fact that we can have just enough light from the night-light mode to go out into the kitchen/living room and not make it too bright. PhilipsHueBluetooth is super helpful and convenient too!

Honestly a very well designed, minimalistic app that is very easy to navigate and use. The lights connect very easily with the Bluetooth pairing, no problems at all, and there have been no connectivity issues since. The E26 lights i have turn off and on, as well as turn up or down to the desired amount of power seamlessly with the slide of a button and the added pairing with my Alexa is also very convenient and useful.

Easy to use app and pairing it with Alexa was fairly easy. Had some issues with keeping the phone in close enough proximity to the bulb when pairing but it was a simple process. I like that you can control it from the hue app as well as through Alexa.
