4.9 out of 5
Bogus app

I was excited when I was looking into fitness competition apps and found this one. Once I signed in then nothing but a calendar. No where to add specific workouts for the challenge. No where to create a point system amongst friends to score the competition. Just a basic somewhat useless app. Their friends must have given this 5 stars because it’s definitely nowhere close to being that. Don’t bother.

Horrible Update

The most recent update made it so you can’t backlog your workouts, only log a workout the day of. Sometimes we forget to log yesterday’s workout and want to get credit for it, but now we can’t do that. I’ve enjoyed GymRatsFitnesschallenge up until now. My friends and I will not be using GymRatsFitnesschallenge going forward until this issue is fixed.

Challenges are nice, but import is lacking

Trying to import workouts from Apple Health, but the date is a non-editable field. If you’re going to have multi-day challenges, they should be based on how much physical activity participants undertake (which is supposed to be the point, right?) not on how many participants happened to remember to import their steps by 11:59 pm on any given day

Garbage Update (March 2024)

GymRatsFitnesschallenge was updated and literally downgraded. Step challenges are now completely useless without having multiple additional steps just to track them appropriately. Some auto generated things like activity titles were removed. We used GymRatsFitnesschallenge to have both activity and steps challenges. It use to be one of the few apps capable of doing both and they eliminated the one unique feature to other apps that just do steps or just activities. Disappointing. We will be finding a new challenge platform after this month.

Picture required? Can’t tie

It looks like in order to log your activity, you are required to post a picture which I don’t like. Also, my husband and I are tied in activities but it says he is second? Do you have a way to show ties?

Miles

I would like to control start and stop miles walk/run. Not just the over all. Otherwise nice App. Thanks

No step count integration

Our company recently used this for a step challenge. Everyone loved it but the biggest drawback was that step count didn’t automatically import via Apple Health or Fitbit. They had to be manually keyed in. Please develop this feature and it would be perfect!

Scrolling issue?

Has anybody else had issues when trying to join a challenge and you cannot scroll down far enough on the overview of the challenge to actually join?

Otherwise a great app, but I have people in my challenge that are unable to join.

Good app

GymRatsFitnesschallenge is great. But after the update, I cannot import my workout from the health app. It says import today step count and I cannot make any changes. Please help. I wish if I can upload the screenshot.

Great app

It would be amazing if we could upload videos.

Workouts

Keeps me accountable m!

The Walking Challenge

Company is dining a walking challenge! But what I love about it is we have a space to cheer each other along.

Great app with no fuss

Easy to set up and easy to create challenges with a group. Having everyone check in with a photo has kept people engaged and active on GymRatsFitnesschallenge .⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Love the app BUT

Need to make a feature where the user can respond to certain messages or like messages within the group chat.

Review

GymRatsFitnesschallenge is so good! You can edit anything you need and you can have several options of what you want the competition to be. You can make or join a group and you ca Bc also leave it. You can text and see who’s in the group. It’s a great app!

Open points?

My friends and I use this all the time for group challenges. But, it looks like you got rid of open point style challenges. One challenge we like to do is pick you poison, where each lady picks four possible points a day to get. We all pick our own four points at the beginning of the month and use this ap to track them. It is really fun. But for June, it looks like there is no more open point option. There are these new hustle points, which look super fun for later, but they won’t work for open points. We have also used open points for other challenges where the group says what the points equate to rather than the ap telling us. Please bring back open point tracking.

Great app, perfect for our needs.

My friends and I have been looking for an easy way to do fitness challenges, but since we all have different phones/fitness trackers/preferred methods of exercise, this was proving hard to do. GymRatsFitnesschallenge solves that problem nicely, and we rank by calories burned. My only gripe, and this is a personal one, is that I wish it linked to my Fitbit. Since it does not, I have to manually enter data, which is only mildly inconvenient. My other wish is that I would like the option to add photos or videos to all workouts, not just the manual entry ones. Otherwise, a perfect app for our purposes.

Best Group Tracker

Best app to compete/track group fitness challenges!

Sheeeesh

Whoever made GymRatsFitnesschallenge is definitely hung and has a capacious—intelligently thought out—design for a fitness competition app.

The perfect social fitness challenge app

I never leave reviews but I just love GymRatsFitnesschallenge and I appreciate the responsiveness of the developer. My friend and I wanted to do a fitness challenge for fun and I researched every social fitness challenge app in GymRatsFitnesschallenge Store, and after trying a bunch I picked this one because it has all the features I was looking for and nothing more. It's super simple and easy to use. Also, the developer Mack is super responsive, and I was pleasantly surprised that he immediately responded to some suggestions I gave. Thanks for taking the time to build, maintain, and improve GymRatsFitnesschallenge!

Keeping on track

GymRatsFitnesschallenge has helped me stay accountable for making sure I get my workouts in.

This App Rocks

Honestly, this is the best app ever for friends who love to hold each other accountable. It really brings out your competitive side, and makes you want to get your workouts in!

Best workout app!!

Been using GymRats for a short period and have loved the idea from the start. Nothing gets you out of bed in the morning and to the gym better than competition. No need for a workout gadget, which means anyone can join and its very social!!!

Love this app!

My friends and I love using GymRatsFitnesschallenge to hold each other accountable with our workouts. You can customize your challenges to suit your preferences. Helps us to find some enjoyment in staying fit!

simple and perfect for group challenges

Thanks for keeping GymRatsFitnesschallenge simple/easy to use and ad-free!! This is literally the only app my friends and I found that suited our “accountabilibuddy” system for working out. Love the freedom to include specific workout details instead of choosing from presets.

Amazing!

Incredible app to keep our collegiate club lacrosse team motivated and having fun over the summer. Would love to see a version of this for other habits - potentially something for hydration? It would be awesome to be able to track and give points for water intake!

Fun & Healthy Way to Connect with Friends

I love GymRatsFitnesschallenge. Lots of my friends live all over the country and it’s given us a platform to both connect and stay healthy together throughout the pandemic and beyond. Helps me get to the gym on days I don’t want to when i see all my friends already went!!

Need Motivation? Use Competition!!!

I’ve been using GymRatsFitnesschallenge since June to motivate my friends and coworkers to get up and start moving especially during a time like this...COVID!! As a leader I’ve had to find creative ways to make the challenges fun and harder every month but it’s working!!! In June I had 7 participants...the November challenge starts in 2 days and I have almost 20 people ready to compete 💪🏾💯 I love GymRatsFitnesschallenge!!

Perfect social distancing workout challenge!!!

Seriously stay motivated with friends through this easy app
