My iPhone battery simply would not charge beyond 70%. I deleted the this app app and the battery charged to 100% within 30 minutes. No trouble since. I now have other security measures in place and all is well.

Consistently targets site links referred from trusted news sources like the NYTimes and The Guardian. Either legitimate sites are being rated poorly by bad actors and this app is doing a bad job of monitoring its ratings system, or, this app has been compromised and is no longer trustworthy. Beyond that, also highly disturbing is the change in their system in IOS browsers from a user friendly mode where you were able to do searches and scroll through the list to see what sites were flagged BEFORE you clicked on them. Now the VPN they ask you to install requires an invasion of privacy into your phone’s network that now only alerts you AFTER you click on a bad site. Bad design and maybe worse than that. Don’t get.

To anyone reading this review: Do not install this. The lack of transparency here is absolutely disgusting. In the description does it say anything about a VPN? No! How about HAVING to enable notifications? No! And it crashed when I said no to notifications, it crashed when I tried to use the scorecard. And I couldn’t even access the browser. Makes you think this app is up to something. They are probably a million thieves trying to infiltrate personal data from my perspective. If you already got WOT , delete it IDDMIEDIATLEY. They’re probably doing something bad here.

In a review for this this app app by B-Drums he questions your omission of any information about your VPN; you replied for B-Drums to contact you and added, "we'll add it to the description to make it more clear." Your reply was in August of 2019 and it's February 2020 and I cannot find 'VPN' anywhere in your description!

I use this app as a extension on my Google Chrome browser and I don't have to use a VPN to use the extension. Why is this? Why haven't you mentioned anything to do with a VPN in your description of WOT ?

Why not give the reason and information about why, "this app would like to add (more like MUST add) VPN configuration" to make WOT work?

Web Of Trust is your name, how can I trust you if you refuse to give all the information in your description about your product? I'm actually shocked in your lack of transparency.

This might be worst app I ever used. It used up over 2.5 GB of my data plan on iPad within 5 days. It also identified virtually every site including major news organizations as bad sites so worthless as far as actually identifying risks. App effectively cost me $30 in data use. They should identify themselves as one of the highest risk sites on the internet.

One of the best free products out there. I would highly recommended to try use WOT on a consistently basis.

So i recently downloaded WOT , and i’ve come to the conclusion that i cannot use it without installibg a VPN. Why is that? I know i might sound paranoid but these days, how can you not be paranoid? So the person who created this obviously has ulterior motives, and let me tell you, your not being “discreet“

WOT should give out warnings only when malware is present, not when someone is offended by a website’s contents. Deleted WOT .

Ive used the this app desktop extensions for my browsers for a long time and valued the added peace of mind that this app has provided. I was happy to see they now have an iOS release of the extension

But for this iOS app I’m very disappointed to say the least.
Installed WOT on my iPhone and upon launching it, it wants to install a VPN with no explanation at all! Absolutely NOWHERE in the “how does this app work?” description does it tell you it will need to install a VPN!!! This part alarmed me.

When a “security related” app fails to provide FULL, CLEAR and TRANSPARENT details about their methodology of how their software works Im not interested, in fact, I become very suspicious of just what are they’re really up to?

Nowhere on the this app website could I find an explanation for the mechanisms of “filtering” my web activity, except for their users feedback system.

Nowhere on the this app website could I find anything about the need to install a VPN on my phone!

In my mind, the omission of these details creates suspicions of just what is this app actually up to…?

Maybe these omissions are just an oversight, but these days where companies are out right stealing personal data from users and lack transparency you can’t be too careful. In fact I’m removing their MacOS Safari extensions from my Mac’s as well. Very disappointed. My trust in the this app has been broken.

If this app decides to become fully transparent and clearly explain their extensions/apps mechanisms for “protecting” my browsing experience and personal data then I’ll reconsider this review. For now ZERO stars :(

This shall be used to be warned when it’s a scam. Some sites were scam and this app shall alert scams with bad reviews. Used it on my PC and checked websites with scamadviser saying that especially some sites are scams. Maybe there should be some fixes here.
