Easy to Navigate, but could be Better

Was excited to see PATollPay become available so that I could monitor my account more closely. My first tour of PATollPay was a run through of all the features and services offered. I had no problems with login and setting up the Face ID, which worked without issue. I see that others in the past had issue with this but it all worked well for me. I was pleased to see all my account information appeared as it should have and was current with recent changes made. I didn’t attempt to make any payments or change credit card Info., so I can’t speak on that. But what I can offer up to make the experience better is in the transaction area.
It would be so much better to show the vehicle alias (car type) assigned to each transponder. When tracking transactions your back and forth trying to match transponders to specific cars on you account. This experience could be much better.

Version 2.0.37 fixed the freeze/crash issue!

The development team were so responsive when I communicated to them that the previous version had freezing/crashing issues. They kept me up to date on their progress and asked questions to make sure they understood the details of the issue. PATollPay is in good shape, will endure, and will be reliable as long as there is a tremendous mobile support like the current dev team. Thank you for your prompt responses and a great app!

App on tap

Great new app. Seems to work well and all info is correct. I agree with other review that it would be nice to correspond transponder to vehicle or license plate so you can determine which vehicle made the trip. Love the ability to take photo of license plate though i haven’t tried it. Had difficulty updating contact info for authorized contacts (changing email of secondary user and adding mobile phone for primary and secondary user). Just didn’t work. Not sure if a faulty feature or something not quite active. Would be nice to use.

Great concept, but terrible UI

Got PATollPay to pay a Toll By Plate invoice using my EZ Pass account. Ultimately had to call EZ Pass to get it done. I think PATollPay is a good concept that wasn’t the executed well. It’s difficult to find where you need to go and, like I said earlier, I wasn’t able to find where to enter a TBP invoice number to pay. Called customer service and they said it’s possible, but didn’t explain how. I tried to log into TBP side of PATollPay , but it told me to log into the EZ Pass side to pay an invoice with my account and, like I said earlier, I never found the place to pay it and had to call anyways. To fix it, I think they should add an invoice pay option right on the homepage, that way it’s easy access.

Bugs, bugs, aggravating bugs.

Does a fine job with displaying and reporting toll usage, but I’ve run into several aggravating bugs. One of the major ones is trying to update your payment info. The credit card number field does not capture input, despite the cursor sliding right. When you tap the button the submit, validation fails.

Time to sit on hold again and talk to the customer service reps. Cannot wait. Hats off to PATollPay dev for failing to do even the barest minimum of QA testing. Seriously, how difficult is it to write an automated test suite? Answer: not that hard unless you’re outsourcing your dev work to an offshore body shop.

Does not recognize Face ID

(Real review) When logging in to PATollPay , PATollPay says register finger print, but when I log out then back in and try to use fingerprint it crashes! I have an iPhone XS Max with Face ID (the future) and with most apps like this feature and same situation, PATollPay adapts to the situation rise to the occasion! Kudos on making PATollPay and reaching the platform but now it’s time to perform to the users expectations posthaste please! Other than that it does the job.... just my opinion! You might think that oh not a big deal but when I have to take time out of my day to type my password that will probably have forgotten, it takes up time witch takes up money!

Lost/Stolen

PATollPay misleadingly allows you to disable a transponder, while reporting it lost or stolen is a separate selection (and you will be charged $10). This implies that you can simply disable it and presumably re-enable in the future.

Customer service indicates that it doesn’t actually doesn’t work this way and once you select this, you have cancelled the transponder, you will be charged $10, and if you don’t get a replacement your account will be closed. My app still shows that I have not reported my transponder lost/stolen but in fact it has been.

Fix your App!! Either way would be fine but misleading is not fine. Be clear and by the way save your customer service people hours of explaining this to people.

New payment method

Noticed my account still had my last compromised AMEX card, so I wanted to replace it with the new one.

Tried the camera thing because that is what it wanted to use. PATollPay doesn’t seem to understand the newer metal Platinum cards so I tried manual mode. I entered account number and expiration date. I kept pressing the done button and nothing happened; so I click ton the camera link. There I found a cancel button; none on the manual feature. Clicked the cancel button, the screen changed a little bit PATollPay was locked; had to kill it.

Currently cannot update my CC via PATollPay .

Might as well use your computer instead

PATollPay barely decent. It looks okay, and is simple enough to navigate, but makes the simplest of tasks more challenging. Forget trying to add a card on PATollPay. I tried multiple cards on different days and it still refuses to work. PATollPay is to make paying them more convenient, and it has only done the opposite for me. Now I have to pull out my laptop and start from the beginning on there, when I should have been able to add my card and make a payment the first time I tried on PATollPay .

Keep crashing

PATollPay is good to see all the transactions and keep records of every tolls but it keep crashing and closing on me , which Is frustrating. Then the communications messages I can’t read their response because it’s light yellow with white fonts that’s s another issue I’m having, I would have to go online to read it instead using PATollPay. Please fix that.

Had difficulty adding credit card

I wanted to change my credit card info using the ‘Enter Manually’ option and it was indeed hard manual labor. Took me multiple attempts having to close and open PATollPay several times before I managed to add a credit card. No error message - I entered and verified my entries but PATollPay would just freeze.

PATollPay is otherwise pleasant looking and easy to navigate. The website however is pretty ordinary although it works well.

Works well. Useful tool to manage toll charges

Bug has been fixed and so far it’s working really well now. It’s a good tool to manage your toll charges.

Would love to see the ability to drill down to transactions when clicking on the graph page so you don’t have to then go back and search.

App does not work well

PATollPay is not great. There needs to be a complete overhaul of the basic functionality of PATollPay . With each update one thing is fixed and then another is broken. For instance when attempting to add a card to your wallet the “+” does absolutely nothing and you can’t remove the original payment method. Forcing you to constantly have to check back to PATollPay to make sure you don’t owe money.

I think this application would benefit greatly from an overhaul and there needs to be more testing done.

Not so Easy pass

First off Id like to say Turn Pikes charging you is a sick joke. Secondly I bought an e-zpass because I am tired of having to deal the confusing entries and exits off the turn pike what with gps not making it any easier. Thirdly I have tried on multiple devices on both the website and PATollPay to input my payment information, my card is valid and I have sufficient funds. After sitting pressing the button to add payment for a good half hour I am quite honestly done with this product and I would rather take a train or plane than have to deal with this...

Garbage app

PA strong arms it’s population to use their ez pass but makes the process of doing so unbearably difficult. PATollPay is annoying. Can’t access anything without a glitch. I can’t add a card right now because when I hit the plus symbol to add a card. It just puts a white circle around the plus. Instead of letting me add a card.
Pennsylvania EZ pass won’t even register sometimes and you’ll get charged 5$ while you have an active card with your ez pass. So you call toll by plate and they act like a bunch of a holes.

Just a bunch of thugs.

Able to see account, can’t update payment method

As stated. Info was all correct, but wasn’t able to add a new payment method. Card scan didn’t work (chase sapphire reserve), when entering numbers manually the “done” button simply didn’t do anything when pressed.

Update: Killed PATollPay , re-launched, card scan still didn’t work but manual entry went just fine. Odd bug?

App doesn’t work

If you try to make any changes on PATollPay it doesn’t allow you. When you call The workers will fix it but act like you don’t understand how it works ummm yes I do your app is faulty and confusing. You will always have to be on the phone with them for any changes and the changes will not show up on your app. Down loading the “new and improved App now” We will see. If it works I’ll be sure to give a better review.

App has decided to not load!!!!

Unfortunately I cannot give it zero stars, since this will not send without a rating! Until recently, PATollPay was fine, loaded with no problem. It has all of the sudden, decided to time out every time I try to log in. I have called the Ezpass group in PA and they have indicated that the site does not work well with safari!! Imagine that! I can log in on my pc, (an HP product) using Firefox or Microsoft Edge, with no problem at all. PATollPay simply no longer works on my iPad or iPhone!

Rubbish onboarding

Step me through 7 or 8 panels of of form fields (on a phone) like address, phone number, DL number, credit card info, car info, etc and only after I get to the end and submit am I told there is a registration error. Could error message be any more generic? Based on any of the info I entered during my onboarding journey could you not have told me this wasn’t going to work and spare me the aggravation of going back through my information checking for errors? And the aggravation of composing this 1 star review?

Junk

PATollPay is absolutely horrendous, even though I sign in with the exact same credentials on the website , and even after all my credentials worked when I opened it the first time today it will now not recognize any of my credentials. All three were declined as invalid. Then I turned my phone on and off, nope so then I deleted and redownloaded PATollPay 3 times, nope. A giant piece of crap. Don’t know why they even recommend anyone using this. You’re better off just using the website.

Does not accept credit card info at first.

I have an iPhone XS Max. I tried to enter my credit card (yes it’s a valid working visa) in manually because the photo capture does not work. Unfortunately, when I entered the number, expiration and then click “done” nothing happened for numerous cards. Had to restart app to get it to work.

Credit cards for payment. Cannot scan or enter manually.
Auto scan will not complete after full green square appears around card.
Manually entering will not accept the “done” button. No action occurs after selecting done with info filled in.

About time!!!! Next feature to add to this is to have a PLUSH notification every time it’s used that include fare paid and current balance after every transaction. But thank you for finally add PATollPay........

No Push Notifications

It does not provide push notifications when charges are made to your account. Including hidden VToll fees (sometime PTC charges you $10 without warning when THEIR equipment malfunctions).

Entirely useless, doesn’t even keep you logged in when you login. You may as well access their website with Safari.

Needs pdf to email option

For practical business use to generate receipts PATollPay should allow you to select tolls, total them and allow printing to a pdf file that can then be emailed similar to the way business receipt tracking apps do, such as Expensify and Smart Receipts

Finally!, but wheres the autofill support

Please update app to support Password AutoFill API, so when you launch PATollPay to login in you can bring up the keyboard and it will provide the option to choose from apples password manager or your own like one password. This makes it super fast to login securely.

Would love to see immediate push notification of the toll charge after you go through EZPass

Toll by plate is the worst system I have ever dealt with. I am from mid west and had a rental car to travel to pa. Tried to pay tolls and customer service said that can’t be done for a month. I returned rental car but now must wait a full month to have my accounts reimbursed for delay time because of tolls. Makes me not want to ever recommend Pa as a tourism area.
