Finding scholarships can be hard, so having an app like this is very useful. However, when I first downloaded ScholarshipOwl , it kept crashing and my account kept telling me the password was wrong every time I reset it. Finally, I was able to get into my account by using a web browser. Before I could even use the service, it required to my sign up for the 7 day free trial which proceed with a 3 month subscription. I wasn’t planning on keeping the subscription, but when I cancelled they had already charged me the $45 dollars before I could get the chance to do so. They were a day early on charging my account as well.
When I called to ask for a refund, the completely denied my request and didn’t even consider other options such as converting the subscription to a one month subscription or a lighter amount of time. The Customer Service Associate basically said “there’s nothing we can do,” with no further explanation or acclamation of policy. I would not recommend unless your rich and willing to $45 dollars. Otherwise I would just suggest looking for scholarships on your own.
Word of advice to the developers: If your going to make an app that’s targeted towards STUDENTS, LOOKING for money, don’t charge them there whole paycheck to do so, it doesn’t make sense.
Other than that, and ScholarshipOwl bugs, the webpage was very useful and can actually find a lot of scholarships.

ScholarshipOwl worked for about two days up until I couldn’t open it anymore. Every time I open ScholarshipOwl it crashes and I can no longer cancel my subscription so I am probably going to be charged for an app that won’t even open. All of the scholarships are also unrealistic because you click apply and it automatically applies you without having to enter credentials or anything. Beware!!

Absolutely awful. Tried the free seven day trial and before it ended, I called the number listed on the website to cancel my trial and the employee said he would cancel the trial and I should receive a confirmation email shortly. I never received a confirm email but still took his word for it. Looked over my bank account and saw I was still charged $45 after I was told it was canceled. I reached out about the issue and they told me that can’t refund me since it wasn’t canceled (even though the man told me he cancelled it for me) and now they won’t even contact me back regarding the issue. Absolutely awful customer service, they don’t care about someone else’s situation, just care about getting money.

On the surface it looks great. But then it turns out it doesn’t let you submit essays, it crashes with every swipe and scroll, you can’t update your profile once you’ve created it and it doesn’t update for you, and there’s this bogus limit of five scholarships you can apply for that never clears, so once you hit five, you’re stuck never being able to apply for anything again. Would not recommend to ANYONE. It’s in desperate need of cleaning/updating. I’ll be enjoying some scholarship finding apps that actually work from now on, thank you very much.

I was asked for my Social and separately, I have been sent several emails that include links to apply for scholarships but transfer you to 3 or more different website domains to get there, distributing my user information from my email to several locations without my permission and rapid enough to almost be without my knowledge. I have a hard time not believing with those factors and the fact you have to pay for an account, that this is a scam. There is no indication from anything I have seen that this isn’t. Dodge this like a bullet.

They use microscopic font on their webpage when viewed on a mobile and I completely missed the fact that you can’t just purchase 1 month of service. Tried to explain what happened and get a refund. Denied. Didn’t even give me the option to convert to 1 month service. Just took my money and ran. I just cancelled my membership after only using for 1 month. I doubt I’ll ever even see a pro-rated amount back in my account. Don’t waste your time with these people. Completely unhelpful. All they want is your money.

1. Gets free trail in hopes of automatically applying for multiple scholarships like it said I could, but I soon find out I can only apply to one at a time.
2. I try to cancel my subscription after the 7 days but it said my subscription had more time on it. I decide not to cancel it then an there because it would not allow me to press the cancel button.
3. Once i did cancel it I find out it charges me $45 after getting 10 pop ups saying I can get it half off.
4. I try to message them and they send me useless information, and I tried calling them but they said I couldn’t get a refund despite never even using the subscription.
5. Had to go through my bank to get my money back.
6. This site is nothing but pathetic scammers.

If I could give ScholarshipOwl negative stars, then U would. I got charged $45 randomly. There is no place to find pricing. I was told there was going to be a $15 charge or a $10 charge. I was really surprised by that transaction. There is no place to contact the actual business and no way to view my account on ScholarshipOwl . This is very disappointing. I don’t know how they got my card information. I just wanted to try to get scholarships. I am never using ScholarshipOwl again.

For an app that can coordinate tons of scholarships, applications, emails etc etc etc they make it very difficult to cancel. Since they clearly know how to manage their app, finding no clarity on how to cancel, membership info, and the like, thats not an accident. Only use ScholarshipOwl if you wanna be frustrated over and over trying to manage your payments and subscription. Total waste of time.

It is extremely hard to find contact information and now ScholarshipOwl says my account login doesn’t exist but I’m still being charged $45 when there was originally a discount??? ScholarshipOwl format itself is very hard to navigate and I haven’t heard back on any of the scholarships I’ve applied for which I believe is around 10-15. Very disappointing.

I primarily use this app on my computer however sometimes I like to check inbox updates on my phone. Recently ScholarshipOwl has given me an error message anytime I log in, it doesn’t matter if you manually login or you do it via email. It’s kind of frustrating but I’ll just continue to use the web version.

Any time I try to apply for a scholarship it loads forever (I’ve waited over 5 minutes on great WiFi and it never sent) and then when you close out ScholarshipOwl to reload it it deletes all of your application. I’ve tried deleted and re downloading ScholarshipOwl and it still won’t work which means I might have just wasted $45. I’m sure it will be great once it’s fixed but until then... :(

I really like the idea behind ScholarshipOwl and I found a lot of good scholarships. But recently, whenever I try to enter ScholarshipOwl I get a notification that something went wrong and it crashes. After the first day I couldn’t apply to anymore scholarships because it keeps telling me I have reached my daily limit and to come back tomorrow even though it has been days. Overall, it just doesn’t work very well.

I was excited to see all of the opportunities for applying to scholarships, but when I click on the scholarship, the description is a black box, and I can’t read any of the requirements. When I apply for scholarships that don’t have requirements, they send me to a screen with the Owl, and nothing happens. When I hit back, it says I haven’t applied.

I can’t login to my account. I know it went through when I registered because my card got charged. My email keeps saying it’s not linked, and the same goes for trying to login through Facebook, and I registered through Facebook.

I couldn’t get past the “create an account” page. When it asked me for the year I was born it was not available. I am a current high schooler yet my birth year wasn’t on there.

I found this on an ad and I was looking at it to see what kind of scholarship opportunities that were out there. If you are not willing to pay the $45 I would say skip this, but if you are this could be very helpful to you. ScholarshipOwl is very easy to use and gives you a lot of scholarships and information. I was charged the $45 and unfortunately I don’t think it is worth $45. It’s also concerning that it goes to multiple websites for the scholarship and it shares your information with other parties. I would recommend getting ScholarshipOwl , seeing what’s available, and just doing it yourself. It really isn’t worth the money and it isn’t that secure.

Although we canceled the subscription trial for ScholarshipOwl, it charged us $45 instead of the $10 it was supposed to be. After it was canceled, it charged another $45 quarterly cycle. When it was supposed to be discontinued. It was also very frustrating and nearly impossible to find any contact information for any type of customer service. We finally found it in the initial set up email from them. I was able to get ahold of a live person and they refunded our unauthorized payment since there hadn’t been any activity on our account.
Otherwise, it gives you information on a lot of scholarships that are out there. But ScholarshipOwl doesn’t run smoothly. Downloading scholarship requirements was nearly impossible.

This is a fantastic app. I’m surprised not a lot of people knows about this. It will literally apply for hundreds of scholarships for you! What a time saver.... and it’s so affordable and saves you time!

I've been applying scholarship using their website for months now. And just eecieve an email that they created an app on ios, this is so convenient! I hope more people will find ScholarshipOwl

Probably 7 out of the 10 scholarships I looked into from ScholarshipOwl were scams, and they posted them onto their app!
:( Thankfully I was smart enough to read through each website and check the credibility before giving my information. However, I was saddened that ScholarshipOwl encouraged scams and further advertised false scholarships.

I downloaded app and applied for 2 scholarships and received a message that I exceeded my daily limit to come
Back next day, I did that and still getting same message. I am going on 1 week and it will not allow me to apply for any more scholarships. This is making me think it is a scam

Disgusting that I can’t apply for scholarships because I don’t pay a certain amount a month for a small chance to get them. Annoyed and grossed out by the greed in this world

Paid 45$ for 3 months and ScholarshipOwl won’t even let us finish profile to 100percent to be able to receive anything. Waste of time... never hear back from anyone about the scholarships.

I can’t really speak as to how ScholarshipOwl itself works but I think it’s important to note that you must be 16 to create an account, so that’s a tad annoying. I would really love to use ScholarshipOwl as intended so I’m hoping for an update that allows for high school freshmen and sophomores to use ScholarshipOwl

I think this would be a fantastic resource to apply to scholarships but I don’t want to have to pay $15 a month in order to do so. Is there a way to apply to scholarships on the website/ app without paying to be a member?

You have to pay to become a member (only on ScholarshipOwl I believe) to enter or even view the scholarships. As a broke high school student, I can’t really pay😂

So far I’ve been awarded some scholarships but yet they aren’t showing up on my financial aid. How do I get it to translate over because it is very much needed?

So far it’s pretty cool. I have to say that it’s much more convenient then going on the website for sure. Honestly I prefer ScholarshipOwl than to use the actual website, so I say it’s worth it to download on any of your touch screen devices.

I have spent hours and hours applying for scholarships fruitlessly. Scholarship Owl has brought it all together in one place. Thank you so much!

genuinely one of the worst and most exploitative websites i've ever seen. making college students pay $45 quarterly while they're literally looking to get money in order to help pay for college is disgusting. they've created some sort of echo chamber because there's no way to inform people about how awful they are. i promise you you will never get a scholarship through this app, no matter how many they say that you qualify for you will never get one. you can apply for hundreds and you will never hear back. i applied to a ton, some years ago and they still haven't 'picked a winner' for over half of the applications. they're a scam in disguise and have picked a vulnerable group of people to exploit.
