Works great - even the free version
I am not sure how VPNs work, and what the difference is between proxy and the other, but I do know that this one boots up right away and gives me a piece of mind. I have a spare iPad2 lying around, and decided to leave it at my office and connect to my company wifi. Not saying I don't trust our IT folks, but at the same time it is my data on here so I wanted to take extra precautions. This gives me the peace of mind I needed. Giving serious consideration to going paid version for the rest of my devices, given my experience with the free version on this one. Seems like a good investment.

Edit the review: Thank you PoloVPN's team for the update, the App is back to be great again Old review: When are you going to update the app. It is been 2 weeks, and the app is not working in a good way as it used to be. It gives me this message "connectivity issue..." while I have a good connection to the internet, even I changed the wifi several times, and still the same issue. I emailed the PoloVPN Shield's team, they suggested few ideas to solve the problem, but unfortunately nothing correct the issue. Please, please, please FIX IT!

Does what it says
I'm testing more than one VPN for my iPhone currently. I am familiar with the desktop version on OS X. The advertisements are no fun. Will explore buying no advertisement version for iPhone. I wish they had a one time purchase version and not a subscription model. One review site said it actually can increase bandwidth speeds. Unlike most VPNs that might slow your connection. I haven't checked but maybe they pull different parts of the same page from different sources to deliver the complete page faster than pulling from one server.
