It’s great until they overdraft your account. Their software took out additional money after my scheduled amount and put my account into the negative causing an overdraft and $30 fee. It clearly shows this in the screenshot I supplied as well as a pdf account statement I downloaded from my credit union but they still insist on more proof! They are insisting I get something from my credit union that actually states the $8 caused the overdraft. The information and documents clearly shows transactions going through and when bank was at $4 the this app transaction was processed for $8 and the next transaction is $30 overdrawn fee. I can’t imagine they really need more proof than that! But here I am!
this app is a good idea and it works reasonably well. The problem is that the this app team send you text messages like you are a child that are completely unrelated to the money you have in your account. They will regularly send you text messages reminding you, for instance, to save money by doing your own home improvement instead of looking for a qualified contractor, or to look for a free concerts in your neighborhood instead of going out to a dinner and movie. You can either choose to not receive any texts whatsoever from the application or to receive all of their texts. There is no option to only receive functional texts like account balance updates. You either have to be treated like a child who doesn’t know how to spend your money, or lose half the functionality of the application. Stop trying to be cute and just do the core business your application is designed to do!
I have contacted this app support multiple times about these text messages and they are only resolution is to disable the texting feature is in Dobot which means I lose all the reminders of my balance growing.
Dobot would be great if this app stopped trying to be my mom and just helped me with my savings account.
I will be deleting this app and switching to the Acorns app. Hopefully someday they will figure this issue out so that I can use this app again because it really is a simple app to use and works reasonably well (without all of the pestering childish text messages).
I’ve been using Dobot for a few months now and I thought everything was okay. I’ve had one or two savings transactions fail, no big deal, the next one works.
The customer service is odd. There is no way to directly contact someone to talk to. You either have to leave a message on their phone number or text them through Dobot . Sometimes they respond, sometimes they don’t. If they do respond, it takes a few hours at best.
Now, we managed to get enough money to get a new place and part of that money we saved through this app. I go to withdraw the money so we can put our payment down and the withdraw fails. No big deal, I’m sure that another try will work since this has happened with deposits before. Try again, fail. Now at this point it’s taken so long for it to fail we’ve lost out on the place. I try to withdraw again just because I’m annoyed and done with them having my money. FAIL. I express this to their support and they don’t seem to care.
I’m still dealing with this issue and if I don’t get my money back soon, will be taking them to court. Please do not download Dobot if you ever want your money someday for a goal. You just might not get it back.
I downloaded Dobot as an option to save. I thought the saving was going to a saving account. However the money went into Dobot . Granted these are small savings. I just do not trust placing monies especially savings into an application.
In addition, there are no options to change the source account. I changed banks and checking accounts and Dobot does not provide an option to make any changes.
Lastly, there is nothing in Dobot or in the chats that show users how to delete or remove their personal and financial information from Dobot . I would like to remove my personal information and have that action confirmed then I would feel comfortable deleting the actual application.
App works as advertised and is a great way to save. However, I’m the type of person that keeps a close eye on expenses so it’s difficult to plan for these withdrawals as I don’t know when they’re coming out or the amount of the withdrawals. But my bigger gripe about Dobot is that your savings do not pay any interest at all. I assume that’s how Dobot makes money. Anyway my suggestion is that once you get to an amount in Dobot that could really earn interest, move it back to your bank to a “real” savings account to get more for your money.
My sister told me about Dobot and how she loves how it helps her save! However I downloaded it excited to start saving, and after going through almost all the registration, I was stopped after entering my birthdate. I am seventeen years old and apparently you must be eighteen or older to use Dobot. I think Dobot is a great idea, but I would love to be able to use it to help save for college before I am actually in college. Please reconsider the age restriction! People under 18 can save responsibly too!!
Decent app. Does what it states. Wish there was a way to earn interest on the money saved in this app after a certain amount. It’s more beneficial for me to keep the money in my other account and not put it into this app due to lack of accrued interest on it. Also wished that once you reached your goal amount that it wouldn’t keep putting money towards it and would instead add more to the other goals that haven’t reached enough money yet.
I downloaded this app to help save for my wedding and it was freaking awesome. I set the amount that I needed and the date that I needed it and this app automatically saved for me!
I like that you can set your own savings schedule(cough, Type A) but I’m obsessed with this app Smart Savings. It finds small amounts of money every week and automatically saves it for me. I’m saving for our Honeymoon now and I’m already 75% of the way there! It’s crazy helpful having my savings on auto-pilot so I can focus on all the other stuff. 🏠🤵🏻👰🏼🥂🌴
I love using this app, it’s an easy way to not have to worry about saving for things I want to do. And there’s nothing quite like getting that text on Friday telling me what I saved for the week, always makes me feel great heading into the weekend!
The staff is next level and always more than helpful whenever I need assistance. I recommend this app to everyone I know, if you don’t already have it you’re missing out!
I am one of those impulse shoppers and spend everything in my account. I love the small amounts taken out sporadically so I don’t miss it, then before I know it, I have saved hundreds of dollars. I also love the fact it takes a couple of days to get deposits into my account. By the time I get the money, the impulse has passed and I usually put the money back in this app or if not instantly when I get paid.
I love using this app. I have been trying to save for some time, but so many of the savings just gets spent quickly. this app tracks my spending habits and sets aside a “safe” amount each week. I have already reached both goals within months, with extra money to spare! I love that it’s through my bank as well. The staff are friendly and helpful. I recommend this to everyone!
This is the absolute best savings app I have ever used. I love seeing my money grow and playing with it in Dobot . The withdrawals, in total, are are no more than you want them to be for the week; so you don’t really feel like your missing money. I started in November and almost have enough saved for my next round of Botox. ❤️❤️❤️👍🏼😃❣️
So I used to use digit, till they started charging people to save 😒 so glad I found this app, it seems to be working well so far. It saves kind of aggressively, but that might be because of the goal I have set up? I also wish it was possible to automatically have this app save for goals and rainy day at once. But that’s me thinking of digit again lol, this app is it’s own treasure
I’ve been using Dobot for months and I love how much money I am saving! It’s a matter of time before everyone hears about Dobot! The only issue I’m having was reconnecting my bank it’s been days... kinda late on rent too, my luckhaven’t had any other issue than that and it just happened recently. Easy fix I’m sure!
I like that I can deposit and withdrawal within minutes. My bank is Fiftg Third and this is a Fifth Third application. The application can be used with any bank but I like Fifth Third because they have been very helpful in the past with loans and increases to my credit card limits.
I fee like I’m loosing money from ine account?
