Love this App!

Love RecipeBox so far! So easy to find recipes and keep them organized for quick review! I’m notorious for screenshotting recipes online and saving them in my camera roll, in which they promptly get lost forever. I love you can port the URL straight from the website into your recipe box. Only suggestion I would make on that front is if there is some way it could intuitively pull only the recipe itself and format it as a recipe card. Currently it just brings up the website itself which is usually a blog so I end up having to scroll and scroll forever to get to the recipe at the bottom. This would also keep the recipe if the website ever goes down or is taken down. I still love it though and it works for now. My last hope is someday integrating with Instacart or one of those online shopping modules so busy mamas like me can port the ingredients straight over to a shopping list and order my groceries. That would be a dream!! Other than those two suggestions I absolutely LOVE RecipeBox and it is making my meal planning SO much easier!

Excellent app

This is an easy to use app that does almost everything I want it to. It is already worthy of 5 stars, but I do have a couple of suggestions. I know I can go to settings and make it stay open as long as I need it to, but that would be much easier to do if the settings icon appeared on the same page as the open recipe. As it is, I have to back out of the recipe to the main page in order to access settings and then go back to the recipe itself. This seems like it would be an easy adjustment, and I hope it will happen soon. My other wish is that I could halve or double the recipe ingredients instead of having to do the math in my head, sometimes risking forgetting to do so with all of them. I suspect this would be much more difficult for the developers to do, but my old recipe app had that option so I do know it is possible. Maybe eventually? Meanwhile, even as is this is a terrific app and I am grateful to have it!

Great app, helpful developers.

I am really impressed with RecipeBox and the developers. First of all, I Love that it’s just a one time fee and not a subscription. I had a few issues with signing in and the developer got back to me quickly and fixed the issue. Also, I had a suggestion of something I would like to see RecipeBox offer, and they are working on that too!
It’s incredibly easy to save my own recipes into RecipeBox, and plan a menu and even make a grocery list. My suggestion was to be able to get my husband to help with the menu planning, and they are working on us being able to share that, but in the meantime, I can sign in to my account on my husbands device. (This is huge for me because any help I can get from a man that hates to get anywhere near the kitchen is a blessing).
It’s everything I need in a kitchen app, without a subscription! Even the free version has a lot to offer.

Wish I would have found this years ago

RecipeBox is awesome. I’ve never took the time to review an app before, but I had to for this one. You can enter in your personal recipes and it keeps it organized. You can also import other people’s recipes that you found online by just copying and pasting the URL. I really like that you can separate all of your recipes into different categories and even add them to multiple categories. It makes it easy to find what you are looking for. For me, the best part is being able to take recipes that you imported from online, tweak them, and then save it. I always tweak recipes to how I like it or to what ingredients I usually have on hand. In the past, I would change up a recipe and like it, but the next time I cooked it I couldn’t remember what I changed. This fixed that problem for me. And no more writing down recipes and losing them in the drawer.

great app! a couple bugs but otherwise awesome.

I’ve used RecipeBox for a couple of months now, both on my phone and iPad, and I love it! my only ish (and the things keeping it from five stars) are that there are (in the current version) a couple bugs, and there are a couple quality-of-life updates I’d like to see:

bugs: the main thing for me is that, if you import a recipe from a website (which is my primary method of adding recipes), the “notes” or “recipe description” section has a bug. every time I go to edit the details of the recipe, it pastes the original recipe description in that field again, so before long, the recipe description will just list a looong text box that contains the same text over and over. oof!

updates: in the iPad app, it would be awesome to be able to scroll through the recipe without scrolling down the list of ingredients, and vice versa. or, it could be even cooler to be able to pin sections of ingredients to sections of a recipe, so the ingredients in, say, the pie crust you’re making only appear when you’re looking at the directions for making the pie crust, and the ingredients for the pie filling only appear when you’re looking at the directions for the pie filling.

I’d also love to be able to do more RTF in editing recipes. if I’m outlining multiple sections of a recipe, basic RTF can make it way easier to discern one section from another.

This is the recipe app you WANT!

I’ve searched (and paid) for recipe apps and this app is hands down my favorite! The simplicity of making viewing your recipes is created beautifully! I love the wide picture shot that you can place of your recipe to make your taste buds just start to crave everything!
The port feature is an amazing feature making it incredibly easy to get your already saved recipes from other areas, ie: Pinterest, Facebook, etc. You are also able to filter through recipes (if you place them in categories or can easily check mark to only see what you are looking for) which is super nice if you do not want to scroll through a really long list of your recipes.
I gave the rating 5 stars, however I would like to see the updates and feedback I requested and sent to the product designer to make RecipeBox experience even BETTER! Thanks this app!

No more screen shots or printing recipes! And it LOOKS pretty, too!!

I use a LOT of apps, for a LOT of different purposes, but this one is so freaking amazing! I like finding recipes online (I hate buying cookbooks, since I never make MOST of the stuff in them!!), but I either have to print them out (waste of paper and ink, then I forget to put them away or they get messy or whatever) OR take screen shots....and then they’re just lumped in with my thousands of photos (yes, of course I could put them in an album, but they’d STILL be in my photo album, and I just don’t like that). This thing lets me copy the URL, and when I go to add it to my recipe box, it puts it in PERFECTLY, picture and all - AND it LOOKS pretty, too! (shows the recipe photo, then you tap for details - NOT the recipes just in a list!) I can’t believe this is FREE, but even if it WASN’T, I would totally pay a few bucks for it!!

Organization for the win

I love that now I have a place to put all my recipes that I find online in one spot. I can organize it how ever I want. The pictures make it easy to decide what I want to cook for dinner. RecipeBox is pure genius. I love the format too.

There are some bugs but none of those are dealbreakers. Sometimes it won’t import but if I close RecipeBox and reopen it will. I think it has more to do with some websites that have a lot of junk on their pages.

My favorite part is being able to edit the recipe. I can add things that I need to remember to make it my style. Better than just bookmarking on the browser and trying to remember. I use RecipeBox at least once a week. And it encourages me to explore the web for more recipes that I can add to my cooking arsenal.

New Update is worse

Please give an option to disable connecting your account to shipt, Walmart, etc. I am welcoming the new feature, however the green banner on the bottom of my grocery list is not a welcome change. I will continue to pick up my groceries the old fashion way and I do not want this green banner at the bottom of my list constantly pushing me to sign into my Walmart account. This is not a welcome change. Please give me an option to disable this banner until I decide to use this feature. Also, please add an option to disable the red badge number above my grocery list. I am sure some users may like this, but I would like an option to disable the banner in RecipeBox if I so choose. I have disabled banner notifications for RecipeBox itself within iOS but that does not disable the badge within RecipeBox .

Thank you!

Love this app!

I have been looking for a while for a way to consolidate and organize the many recipes I’ve found online. I was tired of browsing through my Pinterest saves, Facebook saves and internet bookmarks trying to find a specific recipe but not remembering where I had seen it. This is really easy, visually appealing, and lets me note changes that I make to a recipe. I am also able to group recipes by custom subjects, like my “Try me!” category for things that catch my eye but I don’t have a plan for yet, or “kid ideas” for things that my daughter might like to make. I love that it syncs across devices so it doesn’t matter if I find a recipe while on my phone, iPad, or desktop, when I open RecipeBox all of them are there. Fantastic!

Easy to use free app

After years of emailing myself recipes and then forgetting what I liked and dislikes about each recipe I have finally found a way to keep my recipes organized. I tried 4 other apps before this app and this is by far the best. It is extremely easy to save apps with the push of a button. Also you are able to edit the directions and ingredients and make notes on the recipe. You can share recipes with friends but currently just the original recipe and not with your own edits. If this app has a way to share “edited” vs original recipes that would make it even better! I would also love for this to be a social platform where you can easily look up and save recipes from family and friends. Thanks this app!!

Most Amazing

honestly i downloaded RecipeBox like 5 minutes ago and i absolutely love it. it already helps keep me organized, i can easily find my recipes, and my most favorite feature is you can import recipes or manually enter your own! one suggestion would be if we could have a feature where you take/ import pictures of the ingredients and ingredients that have photos they could be marked in another color and you tap on it and the photo comes up so we know what they look like. me personally i’m sent to the store looking for a specific brand of something or an ingredient i’ve never heard of, this could come in handy 🤷🏽‍♀️ fantastic app though!!! highly recommended!

Wow! It’s perfect!

A simple, elegant, FREE recipe organizing app! It’s super easy to use and includes a mode where it will keep your screen from dimming while you have RecipeBox open, so you don’t have to touch your phone a million times while cooking. I don’t write reviews very often but I was really pleased and impressed by this. And it doesn’t constantly try to get me to buy crap. Whoever made this is an angel.

BONUS- you can also import recipes from cooking blogs without having to read an entire story about their great grandfather in the war, see 1400 pictures of bread rising just to follow along with what you need to do while simultaneously dodging 500 clickable car insurance ads and pop up videos.

Love this app!

This free app is a great, easy way to organize and keep favorite recipes at your fingertips. Great when traveling and want a recipe or at the grocery store and want a list of ingredients so you can pick up what you need. Can upload recipes off the internet as well as manually add recipes. Can add your own pictures and tags so the recipes are easy to find. Twice I had glitches when uploading recipes. Both times I emailed them for support and they got back to me and not only fixed the problems very quickly, they also followed up with me to make sure I was happy with the solution. As my life is becoming increasingly mobile, I look forward to having my favorite recipes go with me with RecipeBox.

The best ever! Really, I mean it.

I was looking for a recipe app to replace one that started charging. The best change I ever made. this app gives me the option to import a recipe without a bunch of cut & pasting. I love adding categories to make it easy to find a recipe and have them on my phone while shopping. I love that I can share a recipe with friends (making sure to tell them this is the best recipe app ever). Now that I’ve been using it awhile and most of my foodie friends have started using it, I’m ok paying to access other features and keep this app going. If you gather recipes to try later or just want to keep that family recipe close at hand, this one will work for you.

iPhone 11 Pro Max

I have been having issues using RecipeBox since I purchased the iPhone 11 Pro Max. RecipeBox will frequently freeze up while trying to save a new recipe. It’s doesn’t work well with Chrome, but it works about 50% of the time using Safari. (I mean when I try to upload a recipe from a website). I am forced to restart my iPhone about 25% of the time as it’s freezing when trying to save. Then I have to restart & try again. I have about 32 GB available memory on the device and I’m running iOS 14.0.1 and it’s becoming harder and harder to use RecipeBox as I go along. What could be the issue?? I love RecipeBox , just now how it’s behaving lately!

By

I love this app

So normally I don’t write reviews but RecipeBox seems worth it because I can save recipes and search for recipes normally I would add the recipes to my Home Screen or save them but being able to put all my recipes I find on safari and the ones I find on RecipeBox is so much easier than putting it in a folder it would be nice if I didn’t have to pay in order to use the groceries list I make groceries Lists all the time so I was disappointed when it said I had to pay in order to use the groceries list so I guess I’m still stuck with notes but RecipeBox is still awesome definitely going to tell everyone about it.

BEST RECIPE APP

So, I’m the same as so many others who:
1. never write reviews
2. are notorious for saving screen shots of TONS of recipes and never end up using them because I can’t find them when I need them
3. end up with at least 10 open web browsers with recipes I’ve tried, like and will continue cooking up, until I can find some time to save them by copy, paste and edit
I’m transitioning all of my recipes from another recipe app and just downloaded RecipeBox today. It is so amazing - easy to use and imports my recipes so quickly!! The previous app I was using was a little bit slow and in dire need of updates and are now charging to keep RecipeBox up. Thank you to Mr. Marks for developing RecipeBox.

Best Recipe Saving App Ever

RecipeBox... ohh boy where do I start..!? RecipeBox is the bees knees. The holy grail of Apple Apps. Steve Jobs came back from the dead to download RecipeBox. I’ve singlehandedly overtaken all of Italy with my recipe arsenal. And you want to know how? this app. Italian grandmothers stand no chance against my cooking. I went from burning water to the lovechild of Gordon Ramsay and Guy Fieri with the help of RecipeBox. Every perfect recipe has been saved in this safe haven app for me to impress the ladies. I’ve notched more kills than Bradley Cooper thanks to this app. Think you need 100,000 tabs open for all your recipes? Nope. this app. Think you need a heart transplant? Nope. this app. Think your dead relatives can’t come back to life?! NOPE. this app! this app is LIFE!

Best app I’ve downloaded in years

RecipeBox is incredible. I will likely stop using Pinterest to save recipes now that I’ve found Recipe Box. The import function itself is outstanding but add in the categorization, focus mode, grocery list generator...it has so many great features and so far it works just about flawlessly for me. No more scrolling through endless blogs to find the actual recipe! Nothing against passionate and witty bloggers, but after I’ve read it once I just want to make the recipe again it’s a pain to keep going back and scrolling. RecipeBox is a game changer for storing and making favorite recipes. Thank you!!

Migrated from Pepperplate. Like it so far

After being 10+ year customer on Pepperplate, and after not updating app for 4 years they took our recipe hostage and demanded $3/mo if I don’t want to get locked out of my own recipes after 14 days. So I copied all the recipes, deleted them from Pepperplate and looked for an alternative. Found Recipe Box, started to transfer recipes and I am quite satisfied with its simplicity and ease of use. I don’t need anything fancy, just the ability to store recipe in the cloud (Dropbox, iCloud, whatever) so I can access them with any of my iOS devices while at home and on the road, and this app fit the bill very nicely. Thank you!

Genius, Genius, Genius

The developer needs the Nobel Prize. 99% of my recipes come from the web. Cannot stand having to cut and paste info from online recipes and copy to my notes or save to my photos. I even tried an app that converts web pages to a pdf file. How lousy is that! RecipeBox magically captures the two things you most need from the website (after you copy and paste the URL into RecipeBox ) recipe into a neatly and well organized presentation...ingredients and instructions. Don’t know how it does does it but download it and you’ll see with your own eyes. Incredible! May be my favorite iPhone app now...and I have hundreds. Get it now!

Absolutely love this app

This was the first recipe keeper app I tried and I love it so much I didn’t feel a need to check other apps out! So easy to use! It is easy to upload recipes from the internet as well as easy to edit recipes that have been uploaded! I love the “favorites” option (it puts a Star next to favorite recipes. I wish there was a paid subscription that perhaps hid the adds but that is the only thing I would change. Oh yea..the option that keeps your phone from falling asleep when using a recipe is wonderful!!

Best App For Ease of Use (Great tech support!)

LOVE the ease of use of RecipeBox AND the huge pics. The category ability makes it quick and easy to create and assign to all my recipes for quick access. I like RecipeBox so much that I am transferring recipes from another app to this one! Honestly, there is no fuss and no mess - just what I need without any other complicated features. And btw, tech support actually responds! They are quick to communicate, very nice and willing to listen to your comments and/or questions. RecipeBox is definitely a keeper. I love it!

Best app ever!!!!

I never take the time to review, but I HAD to with Recipe Box. It is so ridiculously easy to use! I cook dinner for my family of four at least 5 nights a week so I’m always browsing new recipes. I used to have about 50 bookmarks to search through and have to scroll through 20 paragraphs to finally get to the ingredient list. This made things difficult and confusing. With RecipeBox, it breaks everything down and makes shopping and cooking easy. I use Recipe Box more than any other app in my phone.

Really like this app.

Update: I’ve been using RecipeBox for quite a while now, I seriously don’t remember how I got along without it. Still loving it.

I’m pretty iffy about apps like this, mainly because I’ve never found one that really like to use. Though I have to admit, I enjoy using RecipeBox. I genuinely like it. It’s pretty easy to use and I’ve had no issues saving the recipes I want. I’d definitely recommend giving it a try. Plus, I’m lazy. I don’t like having to keep googling recipes, so RecipeBox has done its job. So far so good.

By

Amazing!

Exactly what I had been looking for! Able to easily upload and categorize recipes that I have been saving for years in my “favorites” on my phone! I’m able to share recipes, print recipes, upload with one click from any website, as well as add personal family favorites manually. The manually adding process does take sometime, but so worth it to have all recipes in one spot, alphabetized with photos and tips! Can’t sabelieve enough good about RecipeBox❤️

Good app

I just downloaded RecipeBox to try to keep track of the many recipes I resource online. So far I think RecipeBox is well thought out and easy to use.

Here are a couple additional things I wish RecipeBox incorporated.
- First, a place to add notes. When I make a recipe, I would like to add in my own notes for reference. I know that you can edit the recipe, but I want to be able to add my comments.
- I also think it would be helpful to be able to quickly rate a recipe. People will send me recipes to try and I would love to add it to RecipeBox , but it would be nice to know which ones I have already made and my rating versus those that I have not made.
- And finally, I would like an easier way to add the categories for recipes. Perhaps it is because I am adding a lot of recipes at one time, but categorizing the recipes seems bulky. I’d also like to be able to delete some of the preset categories.
