Nception Reviews

Nception worked well for the first few months after I purchased the full version.

But ever since, it’s been crashing dozens of times per day, often every 5-10 min, even when not performing any functions at all.

I haven’t even made any new images for months, since I can’t trust that I’ll be able to get them out afterwards. I have too many still stuck inside Nception .

I tried sending feedback to developers, but still no response at all, months later. And no subsequent app updates have fixed the problems. This happens both on iPhone X and iPhone 11Pro, so it’s not isolated.

I’m still trying to get the images I’d already made before this happened out of Nception , but exporting is excruciatingly painful due to constant crashes and file list display errors after every crash, wherein it takes at least 5-10 min of randomly tapping on thumbs and/or edit menu items, to get the thumbnails to reappear correctly in the interface. I’ve made virtually no progress getting my insure exported.

This has been going on for months with no fix, and nobody responds to emails. I’ve avoided posting a review before now, as I was hopeful the developers would patch the bugs. But I’m at my wits end after my images have been trapped inside Nception for months.

I guess even paying for apps is a rip-off these days, as developers don’t seem to care if they work or not, even when they’re not free.

The only reason I paid for Nception was to have more control of videos and photos that I want to make; instead all I get are these generic splices that I can’t do anything with. Its like going to the amusement park and seeing yourself in the funny mirrors; but you can’t take them with you. Why did you make an app that mirrors; but that is not adjustable? Whats the point? Plenty of apps already do this junk. You can’t even pause the videos or splice them. Hopefully you will get food poisoning with the money I gave you.

It’s a pretty cool app, I can’t say that I have the same impression of its developers. They won’t let me use Nception , that I paid for, unless I give them permission to use my microphone. Even the still photos, even to manipulate already taken images. The screen just stays black with the message telling me to hand over control of my microphone to whoever these people are. All I know about them is this is how they operate. So, I know I trust them about as much as I trust any extortionist. Which is of course not at all.

The main reason I downloaded was under the assumption I could edit my own work using several videos or photos-I can’t.

It’s one image/video only.

For me that is limiting because there’s not much creative control if Nception is doing all the work on ONE image! Fairly limited presets with warps and filters too.

I agree with a lot of what’s already been said.
Room for serious improvement and new content/controls! Specifically the record requirements. I can’t even open certain photos unless mic is accessed! I don’t like recording onboard sound and I won’t use it (that’s post work!) yet I can’t record videos w/o access- this has to change!

There should be a ‘curves’ control to make it do whatever I want, not just presets. As well I should be able to transpose and blend several images/vids together!

Interestingly, “Inspiration “ section shows other videos and there is no way to create an account (have my name associated with my creation or knowledge if/can be included in that section if I choose to) yet these inspirational examples I assume are those from the developers themselves?

I’ll keep it for now but will delete if it doesn’t improve.

The effects, when used correctly, or occasionally by accident, can be amazing. However a lot of work is needed to refine the UI, including allowing ALL photos from Camera Roll at the least, and the recommendation would be to allow the user to choose with folders/albums should be available for importing photos. Also: add a share action to open in Nception ; add a edit action to open a photo in this app app from the Camera Roll edit screen. As it is right now, I have photos I want to try but I have no idea how to get them into Nception add they're not shown on the Import tab.

Okay, I can see that this is a fairly new app in Nception Store. Granted, why the two dollars if it’s not even remotely good enough to pay for. I do not see the slow motion feature due to lack of instructions and whereabouts of different buttons. No flash on videos? So can’t film in dark rooms. Says to choose your own photos and videos, click it and it gives you a choice of 10 pictures you took on a Tuesday at your grandmothers, you know what I mean? Not good ones. If you’re idealizing Nception to become a bigger and better app, then take the price away. We’re not paying for a very high quality app, I could put my phone up to a Kaleidoscope and get the same result. That’s all I’m saying. If you’re having ya pay, and saying it’s the “Rate for Newcomers” that means it’s gonna get more expensive? You know how I would pay for it? If you could have it as an app, but it would work directly with your preinstalled camera on your IOS device. That would be perfect. You could easily go from photo to video and then to this app with ease. I’m going to keep it though. I’m hoping to see updates so good luck! We’ll see how it is later down the line. 😌

When I saw this I got really excited because it brought back a mirror in function that I really missed in an app called Kitcam. Nobody has yet to duplicate how cool that camera app was and I’ll never forgive the creator for stopping making it just to be clear. I wish I could actually adjust things after-the-fact in Nception. Adding the ability to adjust the photo twisted zoom in zoom out and change the spread of the split would make Nception perfect in every way.

Very buggy, crashes a lot. Also not a fan of how you can only import certain photos from camera roll. Apparently you can’t import screenshots taken from videos. Needs many more edit features (ie Trim, Cut, Portrait mode, Rewind, Forward, etc)

Why free for everyone , but some people buy app and now free and then inapp for buying effect and other option , why some people exactly me buy Nception 2 time , please fix your program or change your way becaus me and other , i buy Nception for one time not 2 time

once you really master the nuances of Nception, it’s a really cool tool. there’s issues with pictures i take never showing up in the import menu, but otherwise very well done. i’d take a lower price though.

I have the latest version of Nception and I’ve really enjoyed it. However, is there a way to prevent the video from being slowed down? My videos keep being edited and exported at rates slower than they were captured...any advice??

No pop up ads, simple, fast, fun. Large number of distortions to use also has color filters to use -Free

The only problem with Nception- not being able to download it to my PC

I used Nception to make some stunning videos at a Nine Inch Nails concert that I went to last night only to realize the day after that it records no sound! The videos are useless now! This is so infuriating!

Love the effects so much. Was having trouble saving (because I missed a step) and the support folks took the time to investigate and send me step by step instructions on what I should be doing. Great, creative app AND great customer support??? Made my day! Going to recommend it strongly on FB and IG today!!

The only thing I don’t like about Nception so far is there’s no scrubbing. I love to be able to scroll through the video while editing it. Please update 🌟 this is fast becoming my favorite place to play with video! Thanks for making the world visa le through this lense!

I personally believe that Nception is great, it does have some space for improvement, but in general lines is a great app for a great price.

If any were to ask me what is Nception missing, I would say that the option to import images from other folder in your phone (Dropbox, screenshots, etc). Also I love the inspiration tab, it does give you a great idea of the potential of Nception , Nception should allow you to maybe submit your work to be featured every week or something.

Besides that, I think Nception is good as it is, the UI is easy to navigate and minimal enough to make it look good. I really love Nception , great job.

UPDATE: Developer response to a friend fully explained how to save your this app effect. Easy peasy! Just click the shutter button on the desired effect and it brings up the Save, Delete etc buttons.
One suggestion for future: how about adding a full editing suite? 😁
