Like Highmark but HATE the App!

I have used the website and mobile site for as long as I’ve had Highmark and other than a few oddities they both have been excellent. HighmarkPlan on the other hand is absolutely useless! 1)It shows “No Progress Information” under my deductible progress, even though I’ve had 45 claims so far this year. 2) When you click on “View Benefits Grid” it just keeps trying to load something but just sticks and app has to be closed. 3) “Find Care” would be awesome if it actually worked, when you first click on it, you see the first 5 (of 48) doctors nearby, but you can’t do anything from there - no matter what you attempt to do the screen flips to no providers in my area.

It is so glitchy that it’s not even worth having HighmarkPlan taking up prime real estate on my phone.

And yes.... I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3x with no help also.

Horrible App

Searching for a provider is a nightmare! Not only do you have to type your password just to run a provider search, the search kicks you out after a few minutes. If you click on a provider/link you must again type your password after getting kicked out to restart your search.
Additionally, the list of providers is wildly out of date and ineffective. Multiple offices I have called are permanently closed but listed as accepting new patients in HighmarkPlan .

Disappointing exclusion if you're on a "national" plan

I am a Highmark member through my employer. My Benefits Home is powered by Highmark, but if you're expecting to have access to the mobile app, you're in for a disappointing exclusion.

As a member of a "national" plan, Highmark will not support your policy through its mobile app and forces you to use a subpar mobile web experience. Their solution: "just bookmark us in Safari".

This is not the level of service I expected, and I might be switching to Aetna this open enrollment period as a result.

Frustrating

HighmarkPlan is ridiculous and so is the website. It tells you to search for doctors or specialists in your area and makes you enter your password multiple times or takes you out of the website to ??? Limbo. I can’t get into my phone app at all. I use my UN and PW and I get an error message that tells me I only have 3 tries. I go to the forgot password to use my ID card information and I get the same message. I have called and WAITED to get no help at all.

Abysmal UX

Searching for a provider is practically impossible on HighmarkPlan . Constant crashing and/or forced logouts. Zooming sticks when using the keyboard so you have to manually zoom out (which often causes it to crash).

I understand trying to keep the features in-app, but if you can’t do so without having terrible UX, just pop it out to Safari or exclude it altogether instead of wasting your customers’ time logging in and out, closing and reopening.

App is horrible

HighmarkPlan makes it near impossible to navigate. Loading is slow and often the buttons to go to the next page are covered by other UI stuff at the bottom of the screen, making it impossible to navigate. When accessing the spending account it often resets back to the main menu. I guess they have to have an app but they might as well not, it IS that bad.

Forbidden Error Unresolved

Since I started using HighmarkPlan I received a forbidden error when searching for care/providers. It does not have me logged in and when I try to log in to see if the provider accepts my plan, it gives me the forbidden error. HighmarkPlan needs an UX upgrade. It is extremely messy having it essentially open a web browser within HighmarkPlan to do the search. I used to have UPMC and their app was a lot more user friendly.

Can’t use it in landscape mode.

I need landscape mode because it’s bigger and easier to see. HighmarkPlan is worthless without it. You’d think an insurance carrier would understand they have elders who would be the ones who use this the most often.
Lastly. A law was past making insurance companies pay doctors at least what Medicare pays. I’m losing my Crohn’s specialist because this company is breaking the law and won’t pay Delaware Center for Digestive Care appropriately and also refuses to negotiate or even discuss fees.
I pay for the best insurance you provide and you’re trying to kill me by taking away the best doctors.

What a peace of garbage

HighmarkPlan doesn’t do anything. Nothing works and all I keep getting are either error messages or I need to log in. And when I click on login it takes me to welcome to the Sapphire365 Demo. Lol. And we pay money to this company. Hopefully they acutely have real doctors in their network!!

Loading issues

I try logging in and it just never gets past the loading screen. I tried reinstalling HighmarkPlan . Even used a strong WiFi connection and a staring mobile connection and it still just continues to load without ever getting past the log in screen.

Always crashing

I never know when HighmarkPlan will actually work. I usually login on my computer to check claims. It would be nice to use while I’m disputing claim at the actual doctors office though. Just did the update a couple weeks ago and haven’t been able to get it to open one time.

Prescription drug coverage

The very first thing I tried was to get the cost and coverage information that populates as soon as you agree to the terms and conditions and none of the links or whatever works. This is what I would be using HighmarkPlan for the most.

Love using HighmarkPlan but for some reason, HighmarkPlan hasn’t been letting me sign in even though I provide the right credentials. Could it be a glitch that’s preventing this?

I don’t know if it is the website or what but every time I try to get my vision coverage information it tells me there’s an error on the page and to call the 800 number or it tells me I timed out and to log back in but it’s showing me logged in....??? Please fix whatever the problem is.

Difficult

HighmarkPlan is very frustrating. They option to search for a specialist is useless. After signing into HighmarkPlan you have to enter your password again to search and then while scrolling through to find a specific person HighmarkPlan logs you out and you have to start all over. I tried on the website and it’s the same thing.

HighmarkPlan is very quirky. Sometimes I can access some parts of it and other times I cannot. Especially the medication part. It seems to have some glitches. I have used similar apps from other providers and I am using them as my comparison. HighmarkPlan needs some fixes. Thanks.

Would be awesome, if it didn’t freeze

Was so excited to see an update for this today. App was freezing after clicking on my claims. Downloaded the upgrade. Now it freezes on the home page. iPhone 11 using ios13. I would find HighmarkPlan to be such a great tool if it worked.

This isn’t an app

After downloading HighmarkPlan and working through the account setup, it gave continuous errors to setting up account. Then I restarted HighmarkPlan and now it won’t even open. How is it possible for an app to be this bad?

Not transparent

Although it’s nice to see all claims made, there is insufficient detail, and it doesn’t match the bills I get whatsoever.
Importantly, why is there no tracker for my deductible and my out of pocket totals? That seems like “fuzzy math” to me anyway, and to not be transparent about it only heightens my concern.

What about a graph to see my level of out-of-pocket max and deductibles? If I login online, I can see the bubble/line get filled all the way to the top.
