Argent states that they use 10+ exchanges to find the “best” gas prices, but the word “best” is an arbitrary term as it doesn’t specify if it’s best for the customer or best for Argent. Their whole model appears to be centered on keeping any and all assets on their platform, which I understand, I just feel that the way they appear to go about it is not immediately apparent to their customers. Purely as an example, who in their right mind would transfer $100 worth of Ether off their platform if they have to pay ~$30 in gas fees? That same transfer into Argent is ~$5 in gas fees. That’s a MASSIVE disparity if they are using the 10+ exchanges with the best price for customers, and one that I, for the life of me, am unable to account for. OK, so how about staking? Well converting your Ether to another token is also excessively pricey. Your assets are effectively locked on the platform due to the exorbitant fees. Unless you own tens of thousands of dollars of crypto assets and want to centralize them on Argent, this platform is not for you. I intend to take a sizable hit in fees just to get completely off this platform which is unfortunate because, as others have stated, it is very well designed and easy to use.

I heard about Argent wallet on the Bankless podcast. I respected Bankless, but what a big
disappointment Argent turns out to be! In late September in 2021, I downloaded the Argent wallet into
my iPhone and deposited 500 DAI in it. ArgentStarknetWallet froze and I downloaded it into my iPad and tried to
access from there. All a sudden, it started the Recovery process, no warning, no explanation about the
consequence of this process. When it was done, 70 DAI was gone in addition to the 60 DAI activation
fee. I contacted the customer service and the response was that the Argent wallet can only be moved
from one device to another by using the recovery transactions and that the recovery fee was charged by
the miners. I certainly would appreciate getting this information beforehand, not after the fact. If the
wallet worked without a glitch on the iPhone, I wouldn’t need to access it from another device to begin
with.
I didn’t touch this wallet for more than 3 months. Today, I opened it, and it shows I have $0. No entry in
the Activity tab other than the wallet activation fee and the recovery fee. This is how my 500 DAI
disappeared into the ether in this Argent wallet.

I RARELY feel compelled to leave 1 star reviews but Argent has done their utmost to warrant it. So here it is! Let’s get the obvious out of the way first. Argent is insanely expensive. Their gas fees are nearly TRIPLE (three times! That’s cold hard math!) That of Metamask, or literally, any other platform I’ve used. They have no explanation for this that makes any sense. Now let’s get to the nitty gritty. I experienced a complete application failure with Argent that resulted in me losing around $450. Their app debited my account twice, with no explanation, during a token swap via UNI. Look, I’ve been swapping for years, and this has never happened. Sure in 2018 it would’ve been $12 and I probably wouldn’t have cared or written a review. But it’s not and application failures are expensive. Argent completely abdicated responsibility for this. They blamed UNI, and then when I called them out, they ignored me. Still waiting for a response. Look, all I can take away from this experience, is that Argent is a bottom line company who doesn’t give a darn about customer experience. Period. USE METAMASK! Avoid this sham at all costs.

I was excited to have an option to buy crypto directly on layer 2.
For my first purchase, I went through all the steps and got to verification. It hung on the verification page saying “It should only take a few moments”. I left it open 1hr and nothing happened. I reloaded ArgentStarknetWallet and went through the whole verification process again 3 times with no error messages or suggestions on what to do.
Finally I contacted Ramp support and they said verification doesn’t work well with the in-app browser, and told me to use Firefox. (Why even open it in the in-app browser?!) Finally - Firefox worked. I was verified. Then I tried my credit card and it was denied. Then I tried my debit card and same thing. They said there’s nothing they can do, Chase VISAs do not work with the service
Would have been nice to know this before I spent the time trying to get this working.

Most crypto users I know are not millionaires. I am not personally buying, exchanging, or swapping tens of thousands of dollars worth of Crypto. Even if I was buying in the thousands of dollars, the gas fees are making the defi experience impossible for the ordinary person who is just looking to get some crypto. So if you’re not aware of how ridiculous the ETH Gas fees are getting, Binance Smart Chain, BCS, has much more reasonable gas fees. They have their own defi exchange and all you need is some Binance tokens for the fees. Trust wallet is great for this.
This wallet will be great for the masses, after a year or more. It’s pretty obvious that they are making a cut off the gas fees. They are some Of the highest I’ve ever seen. BEWARE!!!!
by Dany20mh
They started with the advertisement we pay all the gas fee, no seed, easy recovery and blah blah. They wen away from paying gas fee for regular transaction, then they didn’t pay for recovery feature which is why they don’t provide you seed for and you have to pay gas fee. Now they say they fix that with the new update, but if you don’t have your old phone, you are screwed and still have to pay the gas fee. I get gas fee is not something that they would gain from but this company is all about empty promises and they not worth trusting.

THERE ARE MUCH BETTER WALLETS FOR PEOPLE TRADING LESS THAN THOUSANDS/MILLIONS WORTH OF COIN!!
I was aware of gas fees when downloading but was not aware I would be charged $140 to move $10 worth of ETH. THIS IS INSANE. also $90... NINETY DOLLARS just to ACTIVATE the account. I can’t even move or trade because I refuse to deposit any more money into this wallet! Not to mention it took 2 weeks just to transfer from my bank into Argent.
At least let me transfer my 10 measly dollars to my Coinbase wallet (which transfers/fees are practically nothing) without charging me 15 times what it’s worth!!!. This is absolutely insane.
I want my money back. I don’t care how secure this wallet is, it doesn’t warrant losing my entire savings just to transfer a f**ing coin!!!!!!
I understand it’s for high volume trades/accounts but I wanted to test the water before investing large sums of money. Definitely won’t be doing that here and I guess it’s worth losing $100 instead of thousands!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY USE ANOTHER WALLET IF YOURE NOT A BAZILLIONAIRE!!!!
The only positive side of ArgentStarknetWallet is it’s interface and usability. The DEV team deserves an award but the financiers should lose their jobs!
And I don’t want to hear about how gas fees are controlled by the network. NO ONE ELSE... NO ONE has fees as absurd as ArgentStarknetWallet!

I was looking to invest and earn with compound and saw that Argent was a popular tool to do so. I got ArgentStarknetWallet and was looking to invest but it said I had to have 100 dollars of eth in my wallet. Fair enough. I transferred 100 dollars of eth from my main crypto wallet and it appeared in my account a couple minutes later. The fees for transferring where fairly high but there was a high traffic notice so I didn’t mind. So now I should be able to invest right ? I had added my 100 dollars of eth into the account and now it’s activated. Nope. I go to invest and it still gives me the same notice saying I need to activate my account. Ok maybe it takes a day or two for the system to notice my transaction. A about a week later I still get the notice and I emailed support and they told me to “pay the network fee” but when I look at the learn more page for this notification it just re directs me to the add finds page and I feel like I was completely scammed. Maybe there is a chance there is something I misse but it just seems like a weird racket.

Have been using this wallet for several months. Here is what I learned:
TL;DR - good for holding, bad for swapping, ugly for exporting. Here are details:
Good set up, decent interface, interesting security solution with guardians and no keys. If you need wallet just to hold you ETH based coins, it is a good one.
Bad for swapping - in wallet swap network fees way higher than comparable transaction through metamask/uniswap. If connecting to uniswap from argent, still higher fees plus you pay fees for authorising token to swap. Robbery.
Ugly - this is how you feel when realise that you cannot export your eth account into another wallet. No keys, no export. If you need to connect your account through metamask, usually you import it into mm with keys. No keys, no import, at least for now I have not figured out how it works without keys.

I want to love ArgentStarknetWallet but the network fees are really insane. I know they say it’s not their fault, but why is it that they are charging 100x more (literally) than any other wallet I’ve used? Many providers even cover the gas fees for you.
If they can fix this issue it’ll be one of the best DeFi crypto apps available. I just don’t understand why the transactions are so much more expensive than anywhere else. Might be good for large transactions only.

I was looking forward to using this wallet, because I think the developers have the right approach for making cryptocurrency accessible to more people. Unfortunately, as it currently stands, it failed spectacularly to clear the very first hurdle.
I was unable to purchase coins with normal money. I have tried using ApplePay with two different debit cards as well as the ACH option. Both debit card transactions failed repeatedly and their payment partner, Wyre, was unable to link to my bank account. I even tried sending money to my address from the Kyberswap desktop site, which still failed. I suspect that there is a problem with Wyre. If I am using it incorrectly, the payment widget is very unintuitive. I didn’t even realize there is a sign in button until after a few attempts, and it makes no difference.
I have not tried to send currency from another wallet, but I still need to convert fiat money to crypto and not being able to do so in app defeats the purpose of getting new users (like me) involved easily.
Until this problem is fixed I cannot recommend ArgentStarknetWallet. I can’t even evaluate the rest of ArgentStarknetWallet because I need coins to try out all of the functions. I think it looks nice but I can’t use it. If the developers of Argent or maybe Wyre can fix this, I will be happy to re-evaluate.
If it helps, I am using an iPhone SE (2016 version) running iOS 13.4.1 in the United States.

ArgentStarknetWallet is difficult to rate. ArgentStarknetWallet is nice and easy to use. There are a wide range of possible investments. However, fees for transactions, although not the fault of Argent, are very high. The fees overwhelm interest I’ve earned unless I don’t move my funds for many years or only perform transactions on the order of tens of thousands of dollars. Hopefully, the Ethereum fees will become more reasonable in the future. If you are just dabbling and want to move funds on the order of only hundreds or thousands of dollars, you will lose money because of the fees or at least won’t be able to move your crypto out for a very long time so that your interest accumulates.

ZKsync integration makes this the most secure and inexpensive wallet. The developer seems to be always working to make it better. Would be 5 stars but you can only trade Eth for 6-7 different kinds of tokens on the integrated exchange as of now. Also, one giant oversight that should be clear in the apps description is that you can’t cashout via ArgentStarknetWallet . You will still have to send your crypto to an exchange like Coinbase to do that.

Terrific well thought out wallet. It’s a mature product getting better every release. If you’re new to crypto this is a great place to start.
A couple of feature requests which would take Argent to another level...
1. Being able to import read only wallets from other DeFi accounts so all the users finances outside of Argent appear in ArgentStarknetWallet as well.
2. It would be great if Argent can provide better insight into the leverage percentage, collateral ratio, health/risk factors from different DeFi accounts so the user is better aware of their risks at any moment. In addition, a notification alert when it hits certain thresholds, would give timely updates to those with riskier positions.
Looking forward to more awesome updates.

I’ve used plenty of mobile wallets and Argent is by far the best one I’ve come across. Had an issue so I started a support ticket pretty late at night(USA) and had a clear and helpful response the next morning. Just did my first purchase from fiat to DAI and it went super smooth over Apple Pay. The fees were decent and I’m happy to support this company, especially since they eat the gas fees for you!
It would be really nice if they had an Apple Watch app that showed me the current balance.

I want to preface this by saying that I am being honest and I’m not biased in any way. The ARGENT WALLET app is sleek, deep and cleanly elegant on data presentation & capabilities, yet intuitive. The support staff responds immediately and literally bends over backward to completely resolve any issues or concerns. I feel so relieved and comfortable putting significant funds in there. Thank you so much. Kind regards. <( JP )>

If you prioritize the security of your wallet, you should go for Argent. It has a very good feature that will add a withdrawal limit to your wallet. As far as I am aware, this is one of the few wallets which offer this service. The UX is clean and you can interact with several dapps within ArgentStarknetWallet such as Uniswap. Definitely worth checking out!

Finally there seems to be a way to get into DEFI that is not !!!RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE!!! and a little more intuitive. I have been exploring different blockchains, wallets and DEFI platforms for the last year. I am hopeful that with zkSync and Argent we are finally getting to place that makes sense for the average human with average capital to start investing.
Fingers Crossed.

This is slightly worrying, with the volatility of crypto it would be nice to be able to withdraw at a moments notice and not to have to wait. Very disappointed seeing as I recommended Argent to many of my friends. Hoping this gets resolved quickly. - this was resolve by the team in a swift manner edited my rating

Beautifully designed app that will hopefully be the gateway into crypto currency for many. Quick and easy to use, no fees. V2 just launched and there are a many more options added. Give ArgentStarknetWallet a shot!

The recovery process doesn’t work. If you don’t have 1 guardian, you can’t restore your wallet. It also takes 36 hours per try. I reached out to their support multiple times via email and got absolutely nowhere. There is no other way to restore.
Now there is money sitting in the wallet that is completely inaccessible. What a huge waste of time and money. Do not use this wallet if you value your crypto! You’re on your own for restoration, and you don’t have access to your key to take it elsewhere.
Edit: Tried multiple phones, multiple times. Talked to their support, which again, got me nowhere. DO NOT USE! YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY. THIS WALLET AND ITS RECOVERY IS A SCAM.
by ThisDayForward
Do not transfer! Your first $10 goes straight to them. Also, they are charging 10x gas fees for exchange compared to uniswap direct. I’ve tested many times and uniswap is $16 and they are $160 (I’ve seen up to $250). And Argent claims to be using uniswap exchange right on the exchange page. Who would spend $160 when you can just up uniswap yourself and avoid Argent up charge? I’m confused on how they said they do not make money on gas fees. Totally regret using this wallet.

Saw ArgentStarknetWallet reviewed by Chico Crypto. Thought why not, nice user interface, automation, but can not buy coins. Wyre fails repeatedly to process USD to coin transactions. I use Apple Pay, if that is an issue, the option should not be available. If it’s on Wyre’s end, why would you use a payment processor that can’t use OS native payment function.
Great idea but lacking

It’s my first time to use Argent. I deposit some USDT. When I tried to withdraw, it said my withdraw address not found. Then I tried to add my friend as guardian, it said contact not found. Then I clicked the data refresh button and now I cannot enter the wallet using my passcode.
Update: it was congestion issue, now I can enter the wallet. The timing is bad.
by Metman716
I enjoy the wallet and what it offers but the network fees are astronomical and they should allow you to set your own gas price. Using argent with wallet exchange on any app returns much lower fees than what argent is quoting for network fees. This needs to be optimized.
I’m sure they’ll figure something out. Overall good wallet that needs fee optimization.

This is the best ethereum mobile crypto wallet by far. They pay for gas fees for you which is kinda crazy. I don’t know how they will stay around while taking these loses but I hope they do.
