It’s really too bad…

I truly love the sound of my new Woburn II Marshall speaker, and in fact, I love it so much that I went out, and bought their Stanmore II speaker to pair with it, with the intention of buying second Stanmore II, so that I’d have a full sound, and one that could be better controls between the mids, and high/low ends. In a perfect world, Marshall’s apps/pairing would work half as good as their speakers do, but unfortunately, this isn’t a perfect world, and Marshall’s apps are horrendous from both their ability (inabilities) to properly pair, and stayed paired with each other, but even more so, with how it communicates with ALL my music services. Why???! I mean you got the hard parts done right, why not spend the effort/resources needed to make it all work the way almost all other speaker systems do? I’m very much considering scraping the two Marshall speakers I got, and going with another company’s system, as this is truly not worth it. Sad.

How to connect

Ok, I will share how to connect. 1) download MarshallBluetooth. 2) Turn on bluetooth of your i-phone. 3) MarshallBluetooth will connect with the speaker automatically.(you can see in MarshallBluetooth ) 4) Push the source button for 2 seconds. The red light will flicker. 5) connect your i-phone with the speaker. There will be connection sound. 6) enjoy your music. 7) actually, you can find all the tips in MarshallBluetooth 's help. I think some people didn't follow the tips and just left the wrong reviews. check it please! It is an awesome speaker!

Connectivity Issues

From my experience (IPhone 11) you must pair the speaker(s) through MarshallBluetooth THEN pair it to your ‘phone’ via the Bluetooth settings. If you pair it to your phone then try to pair through MarshallBluetooth it won’t work... additionally music must be selected through your media player (I use Apple Music) and it will then display through MarshallBluetooth . The instructions do allude to this, stating to utilize MarshallBluetooth first ... but alas I only read them after it didn’t work!

Worst App, best speaker

I own two acton II Bluetooth speakers. Coupling them to play together requires the stars to align. Got it to work a few times, and a few times it just happened on accident. The connection was usually really spotty between the speakers, and now it’s become impossible to couple. Have had these speakers for almost 4 years now and the developers have not made any effort to improve the apps capabilities to connect speakers. Incredibly glitchy interface. Speakers connect and disconnect as they please. At one point an entire button turned invisible. Overall MarshallBluetooth and coupling is not usable. Best speakers tho, so it’s a shame. Guess I’ll switch to Sonos

Really?

Start with the fact MarshallBluetooth has trouble syncing with the speakers in the first place, it’s basic function. Add in how paired speakers won’t communicate half of the time, with one losing connection. Top it off with the necessity to send your location information, and whatever other data they may be selling.
For an app going to operate rather expensive speakers, it is absolutely awful. We drop down a chunk of money for this audio equipment, it is reasonable to expect something semi capable. This is highly disappointing and almost makes one question having bought these speakers in the first place, a shame as they truly sound wonderful.

Doesn’t Remember Set-Up - Glitchy

Some serious work is needed with MarshallBluetooth. With only one speaker- no issues. With 2 speakers, it’s a total mess. Sometimes MarshallBluetooth is successful pairing after several attempts and trying different ways. Most of the time it just hangs despite the iPhone recognizing and connecting to both speakers without issue. Would also be nice if MarshallBluetooth could remember previous settings. My JBL Bluetooth speakers never have trouble connecting. Very frustrating when you’re trying to connect a pair of the otherwise amazing Woburn IIs.

Hold the Source button for 2 seconds

The directions are terrible on MarshallBluetooth but easy to resolve connection issues.
To make this work perfectly, hold “Source” button for two seconds then the Bluetooth can recognize your phone. The speaker will then connect. It is incredible and works perfectly if you follow the step.

Disappointed

I loved the first acton II I bought! So I went and got the next model up to pair them up.. they wouldn’t pair well. They’d take turns playing the same song. So I thought maybe I need two of the same exact model. So I returned the stanmore ( I think ?) and got a second acton II. Tried to put them. Same result. I’ve been working on it for a couple of hours w no success, which led me here.. and I see I’m not the only one w these issues. I grew up playing on Marshall amps, this is ridiculous!!!! Sounds great but these are HUGE issues . I bought the second one to pair it and I can’t !! Duped !

Keep hoping for upgrades

Downloaded software to play in stereo mode. When the software works it is amazing. I never know when the sound will fade out if one or the other speaker however. I keep hoping the software would be updated to provide more stability. I did not have this type of issue with a competitive speaker so I was surprised to find this with a Marshall product.

an embarrassment

it is hard to overstate how terrible MarshallBluetooth is. it takes 4-5 tries to connect to the speaker when i want, and yet when i walk in the house, MarshallBluetooth will often connect to the “marshall” speaker (made by an unrelated company that licensed the logo, etc) and begin streaming audio at ear splitting volume. this also happens sometimes in the middle of the night when i pick up my phone. i won’t even get into the clunky and illogical user interface. i don’t have very high expectations for audio quality mono bluetooth speaker, and i bought it solely for the look. but how hard is it to make a bluetooth speaker that simply connects when you want, and doesn’t connect on its own? why do i even need an app? i’ve seen $40 bottom of the line bluetooth speakers for children that work better, and don’t require an app to connect. what a disgrace.

As Useless as it is Unnecessarily Complicated

I’ve never left an app review but after dropping hundreds of dollars on a speaker from a company who can’t shell out a few grand for an app made by someone with a college degree, I do feel compelled. MarshallBluetooth is one, unnecessary, and two, will only interfere with your connection.

Works like a normal bt speaker, you do not need, nor should you want MarshallBluetooth. The instructions people (probably the company) left here don’t work, and if it was that simple hundreds of people wouldn’t be leaving horrible reviews.

By

Was super easy and simple

I don’t know why everyone else is giving bad rating and reviews but it worked fine for me. Got connected to my device in less than 5 minutes and haven’t had issues since.

Works well, I think people are messing up the first step.

It works well for me, I think people are messing up the first step where you have to press the button for the Bluetooth light to flash. Once I got that to happen my connection was great. Overall good app, but I wish it had an iPad size app.

THERE IS STILL AN EQUALIZER

Update: New update fixes problem. Three dots are visible.

THERE IS STILL AN EQUALIZER. Contacted support after seeing that it seemed to not be there. It's still there, but a prior update made it invisible for some reason.

To get to the equalizer, go to the page that lists the speakers with pictures of each. Apparently there used to be dots to indicate that you could bring up options on the far right of the speaker on the opposite end. You can't see the dots anymore, but you can still press the area to bring up options, including equalizer options.

Hope this help.

It connects but won’t play music

You would think spending $275 on a speaker with an amazing heritage behind it would come with a powerful enough app to play your music I might just return it and buy JBL, Sony and or mega boom speaker that connects 10 times easier

By

U have to connect in the right way!

Before connecting your Marshall device to MarshallBluetooth,
(1) Hold the Bluetooth button on the speaker for 2-3 secs and it will start to blink.
(2) Pair it with your phone/Pad in the normal Bluetooth setting.
(3) Open MarshallBluetooth , then you will see the connected speaker and a lot of adjustable features.

* It won’t work if you directly connect your newly purchased speaker with MarshallBluetooth without these steps *

Plz follow the firm’s instructions before you criticize MarshallBluetooth LOL.

Interference of BLUETOOTH speakers in other spaces occurs

I am using two Woburn II products. When Bluetooth is turned on, Acton II speakers appear on the Marshall Bluetooth app upstairs. In some cases, it is automatically connected even if you don't want to connect to Acton. Marshall Bluetooth App update seems necessary for this part.

Won’t connect to App

Just purchased the Stanmore II. The device pairs to my iPhone and I’m able to play music over Bluetooth but it won’t connect to the Marshall app “no devices found”. Moreover when you click on “contact support” it takes you to a page with a 404 error.

Also, it is Alexa capable but it won’t connect to the Alexa app either. This is probably the most non functional product I’ve ever used.

Needs work

I want to love MarshallBluetooth as much as I love the speaker. It has bugs that need work including MarshallBluetooth just turning white and the name of it erasing from my hope page. I have apps for my headphones and other devices and those all work great except for this one. Please fix MarshallBluetooth , get someone new to make it or whatever. I’d like to be able to tell people MarshallBluetooth is as amazing as your speakers.

By

You probably don’t need this

The only thing you really need MarshallBluetooth for is if you want to sync multiple speakers. Otherwise it’s unnecessary. To put the speaker into pairing mode select the Bluetooth source on the speaker then hold down the source button for 2 seconds.

By

Updated: EQ is still there just hidden super well

App works fine for managing speakers, linking them and most importantly the 5 band EQ that makes it possible to get pretty decent sound out of these speakers.

App seems a little clunky / poorly written but it’s not too too bad.

Update fixed everything

New update fixed everything I have been reading about. Super easy to use. No complaints.

By

App is a total disappointment.

There's none of the functionality advertised on MarshallBluetooth store description. It's just an overcomplicated way of delivering the instructions for syncing your device to the speaker.

SPOILER ALERT: you hold the source button until it blinks, then you can sync it with your phone or whatever. Now you have no reason to download MarshallBluetooth , so save yourself 15 minutes of setup hassle.

By

No Equalizer Function as stated...

It was working just fine for the longest time. I don’t know if it had an automatic update or what but the equalizer function is now gone. I’m completely annoyed because it’s been weeks and still I haven’t been able to figure out what happened or how to get it back. It’s now just a normal blue tooth speaker but over priced. Ridiculous.

By

Missing features that it needs.

I mean I’m not even sure what MarshallBluetooth does. I do wish they did add more features to MarshallBluetooth though. Main thing it needs is a widget for iOS to turn down the Volume instead opening MarshallBluetooth .

By

Are you guys going to fix this mess?

Why is MarshallBluetooth in Spanish natively? It needs to be fixed ASAP. Even better put all of the darn Marshall’s products on one app that works. Wouldn’t that be an idea. I have a voice and Bluetooth Marshall and having two separate apps is annoying, even though the apps don’t really serve much of any functionality.

By

Glitchy and once coupled its useless

MarshallBluetooth has a tough time remembering devices. Problematic, but worse is once you couple speakers, the equalizer is unreachable. In fact the only thing you can do is decouple at that point.

Did anyone actually test MarshallBluetooth? Really, for the cost of the speakers this is sort of expected to work.

Worthless

The third instructions for this speaker asks you to download MarshallBluetooth. I don’t know why, it really doesn’t do much and actually gets in the way of the performance of this fine music player. Don’t bother. Link Bluetooth as you usually would and use your phones EQ settings for the music.

Wonderful

I’m new to Bluetooth amps. This one is amazing it was absolutely so easy to set up I couldn’t believe it. Follows the great tradition of Marshall amps

By

Where the heck is the EQ?

Around three weeks ago my EQ function, ability to adjust led lighting strength, and almost all other functions on MarshallBluetooth ceased to work. What happened? Was there an update that removed those options? Seriously Marshall what happened here?

By

Worthless app

The sound of my Marshall Woburn 2 speakers are great, but MarshallBluetooth is so frustrating. Multiple times I tried to couple the speakers to no avail. No equalizer function either. Guess I’ll end up buying a different brand of wireless speakers to get the true stereo sound I want.

Went from 4 to 1 star

Eq in MarshallBluetooth made it worth the extra icon in my screen deleting the useless app as soon as i press send i know it doesn’t make any financial difference to Marshall but it will in my phone you are downgrading instead of upgrading Marshall
