Limited Functionality

I was really excited to try this app’s mobile app. Their desktop, browser-based platform offers one of the most comprehensive property management systems on the market. However, I perform the vast majority of my business on the go, so having a mobile-friendly platform is very important to me. Unfortunately, the this app app just isn’t there yet. You can see conversations, calendars, and tasks, but that’s about it. You can’t add reservations on the go (let alone generate quotes to send to potential guests). You can’t update reservations (unless you want to change the check-in time). You can’t make updates to listings, and you can’t see performance metrics. This is incredibly frustrating, particularly since the mobile version of this app’s site is clunky and difficult to navigate. Essentially, this creates a backlog of tasks for me that I have to wait to do until I can get in front of my computer.

On whole, I am pleased with this app as a platform, and I love it’s smart calendar rules and fairly robust integration with a variety of platforms. However, the barriers to mobile management are a real bummer. I wish they would fix this, as the lack of mobile functionality really limits the usefulness of the product.

Functionally way too basic

As a business owner who is incredibly busy and on-the-go, I manage most of my reservations on my phone and Guesty is terrible for that. The limited functionality really hamstrings my ability to manage things and I find myself going into the Airbnb, VRBO, or other channel apps directly. Huge let-down.

I’m often not by a computer and having to use the this app site on a cell phone is a painful experience. It’s not mobile optimized. this app, for the amount I’m paying monthly I am really not seeing a gain here. Most of my bookings still come from Airbnb but now I have to try and manage them in a very inconvenient way and paying to be inconvenienced. At this point I am counting down the months on my contract.

Really unfortunate that you fail to place a priority on giving busy people a way to easily manage things on the go.

Not there yet

The concept of Guesty is awesome but it’s not fully functional as yet. Guesty constantly crashes! And the check in and check out dates are one day off. I had this problem with them several months ago, brought it to their attention and it was fixed within 24 hours. This time it’s promised to be fixed within a week. If you manage several properties with this app, this can be a reallllly serious issue. Guess they don’t see it that way. Would be a fantastic app if it didn’t constantly crash and if the date keeping were accurate. There must be better software out there than this...

Love the calendar

The calendar alone makes Guesty better than Airbnb (which always freezes for me due to too many listings).

I’m also ready enjoying the multiple auto-message features, which cut down my typing labor 4-5 hours a week and creates professional consistency that I’ve always wanted.

They still need to add some features to achieve perfection but feels like they are getting better and better.

Finally!

We’ve been dreaming of this app creating a mobile app and it’s finally here! We mainly needed a mobile app to easily manage our rental reservations on the go. Definitely needs a few improvements, but this beats having to open a mobile browser on a smartphone. Thank you!

Helpful but needs more functions

Glad to have push notifications with the latest update. Still needs weekly/monthly calendar overview. Experiencing bugs with current calendar & check in/out info being inaccurate. Somehow all reservations are showing up one day later on the this app app, although they are correct on the website.

Our property manager there uses this app to allow us, the owners to book their personal time and time for family and friends.
When I try to fo that on Guesty I unleash the sales team at this app to try and get us to buy into there PM system. I do not see how to use Guesty . I need to go thru a separate process to log on to a set up by Blossom PM.

Lacking Analytics but otherwise good.

I do most of my work from my mobile. Analytics does not display on my phone in a usable way so I downloaded Guesty for this function. Unfortunately, Analytics is not part of Guesty . Guesty seems pretty good otherwise.

10 units and I still felt like I had to manage everything

Horrible. Find a different company. Extremely slow on messages and the people messaging back barely speak English. this app is taking over 24 hrs to reply to guests. Find a different company.

Guesty freezes about every week and have to download again almost every week- super frustrating!!

I love being able to communicate with guests through the this app app but one thing it is really lacking is the calendar view and multi calendar view. I use this failure constantly so I always have to use my computer.

Needs continued investment by developers to improve functionality. The issues are vast, but so is the site in general. No one will honestly claim Guesty cannot for improved substantially.

Minimally functional - crashes often

this app needs a serious overhaul of Guesty .

It has some functionality normally (when it works) but lately it has been crashing constantly.

For being the self-proclaimed leader of the STR PMS space, Guesty is laughably bad.

Please invest dev time into building a new (functional) app from scratch.

Guesty is worthless. Not sure why this app feels it necessary to hide all the important booking details!?! Then, the details it does decide to show aren’t even correct! Stay away from this platform!

Using Guesty reminds me of using a computer in the early 90s. If you’re transferring your airbnb listings over to this app, be prepared for the following:

1) You won’t be able to program seasonal requirements. The “next best thing” you can do is assign a number of minimum nights to each calendar day. It doesn’t work the same at all so we find we either a) have to block off before and after days to the period of time we want a seasonal requirement for and lose out on income for those two days or b) disconnect the listing from this app, then go into airbnb and create the seasonal requirement, and them re-sync the airbnb listing to the this app platform.

2) There is no option to decline a reservation on the mobile app. The only button visible is “accept.”

3) There are many other things that have to be done on the website only, so if you rely on your phone to manage your listings for most of the day, expect to be extremely annoyed.

4) The interface is very non intuitive. The way to do things, and the language used throughout the platform is not user friendly. For example, when you click on “Listings” to see all your listings, it defaults to the unlisted listings. If you don’t have any unlisted listings, you see nothing. Then, if you click on “active” you see a pop up that makes no sense. This is just one of hundreds of other odd-ball scenarios that a better developer could easily iron out. It really seems that their money is put on the front end and the back end is very, very antiquated in comparison to any other app I have ever used.

5) There is no telephone support. You have to submit a help request and then you’ll get an email, and response times vary.

6)The “onboarding” process is a series of 1 hour sessions, done with someone overseas on their timeclock and coordinating is difficult.

7) The actual people you will interact with are very terse. This is not a customer service centric company.

Update after 6 months of use-

November-2018-
Although the response time has improved, the glitch issues have not. What seems to be the the most important glitch that effects the overall operation side of things, is the issue regarding the calendar being 1 day off in Guesty . We have 30+ units on this platform. Having Guesty on the go is essential for my on the ground operational team. Furthermore, we are now unable to adjust the check in/check out times within Guesty . It reverts to AM not PM. Overall the software is amazing and I would certainly be lost without it. However, Guesty issues need to be a #1 priority to repair. The developers are very slow to respond on the high level issues such as this. It’s been two weeks since my initial reporting of the check in/check out time adjustment issue. No follow up, no correction.

Just want it corrected! Looking for new software that offers the same functionality.!we are adding several more units within the next year and need a fully functional software. It’s imperative.
Will update again in a few months.

June-2018- I’m still in the fence about the this app software in its entirety. The program is too glitchy! Time zone issues, automated messaging issues, and very poor response time and or response that are very vague and offer absolutely zero resolution ! Guesty is very limited on functionality. It’s really just to use as a message platform and to see the current guest, checks ins and check outs. That is when it’s actually working!

Guesty is decent as a nearly view-only app, but desperately lacking otherwise. Current version tasks cannot have comments added; blank screen presented with no ability to type, happening across multiple devices.
