EDIT: updating Anybuffer just deleted everything I had saved.

Doesn’t work very well:
Stops working from time to time.

Why the heck have a copied URL go to a webpage? That makes no sense. I only want to be able to grab the URL from this app and paste it into my text box or address bar — I don’t want to view the webpage from Anybuffer !

It doesn’t add everything that I copy. Sometimes I select and copy only a few words, but those do not get added to Anybuffer . It will only add very long sections of text that I’ve copied.

It doesn’t retain any formatting of the original text. Bold, italics, etc. are lost and so are clickable URLs. So dumb.

More bugs: If you create a new shelf, it duplicates the last thing you copied. One time, I made a shelf and got the duplicate; the second time I went to make a shelf, but clicked Cancel and it duplicated the last thing I copied as well anyway.

What’s the point of Anybuffer?

While I have found Anybuffer helpful when doing research for school I have found that it is very annoying when I want to find a snippet of text that I took off a website. All I see are empty white blocks that do not offer me any information of what is inside of them, so I have to go through them all one by one, and since I cannot scroll in between files I have to exit and reach the board to pick yet another file. As for the sharing tools it is also very annoying to have to chose a viewing format after clicking the file in order to physically see it. And then to exit you have to click twice (exit the sharing format, then exit the open file) which makes browsing unnecessarily complicated. I like the concept of Anybuffer and it has helped me write my school papers, but all of these issues need to be fixed before it can receive a higher score of stars.

Example: I created a short cut to copy the clipboard and then to paste it into the inbox of any buffer but when I do that all I got is an item that says loading… And whatever I pasted never appears.

Also the widget that lets you choose a recent item that you saved in this app only shows the name and the type of file but does not show the item itself. Finally, a very strange name for Anybuffer which doesn’t indicate what it really does. But I am hopeful for many improvements…

Another thing I just noticed...no Mac app or watch app. Will need to look for something else that includes these.

While Anybuffer address some of the peculiarly absent features is iOS, it’s still has some issues with different data types when using the “Share”
menu which is pretty annoying. You can send all kinds of data to this app but sadly you can’t send these copying objects like phots, documents or simply text to many apps. If there were methods to do this so that other apps could be convinced data is of a different type (ie: a PDF file, a photo, etc... I suspect more apps would be able to paste it.

Also, the viewer is kind of clunky where clicking on an item in this app requires lots of button presses to view the same document you were just looking at, even with the added security turned off. It’s nice to have a “scratch” place to store documents you need to for things like directions, but all of the button pressing just to view it over and over is very tedious.

Finally, there needs to be some integration with a computer app (like a MacOS app from Anybuffer Store) so you can share between mobile devices and your computer easily as it simply stores its data in iCloud anyway.

Realized Anybuffer will not work now with any OS system under 14. Not upgrading my (older) iPad, so guess I can’t use your app anymore. Why discontinue it for older versions?

Previous review: Just discovered this amazingly helpful app to organize all my stuff. Starting out now, but already I can see how useful it’s going to be. I can create boards and add photos, websites, files, and more; and organize it all into into various categories with icons. Will definitely be tipping developer some money to continue this awesome resource! Highly recommend this app!

Nice app however, either I’m missing how to do it, or you just cannot access the URLs you save. I cannot access a link without copying it and pasting it into safari. If I could just tap it and have it take me to the site (either in Anybuffer or in another window) that would be great

Such a timesaver. I was going to suggest somehow to make a pop up to the usual paste dialog to see and select the last few “copy” stored in the designated list right in Anybuffer on screen. Also, I am a bit confused, silly me, how to activate the iCloud to avoid filling up my home. I assume it’s a one time payment level. Please help me with that since I just came to iOS and am a novice. Good job !!

Do I treat each shelve like a folder on a computer? It’s a bit confusing. Dislike how I am unable to select certain things within a shelf and move it to another.

Also unclear what smart shelve is

Great for my ipad, but not sure why it needs to be open (onscreen in slide over or otherwise) to work. I have tried a few other apps that can still capture anything I copy while in the background. On the mac need to add keyboard shortcuts (customizable). If I copy something on my mac it takes around 10 seconds to show in folder. This is odd becasue it takes around 7 seconds if I copy on Mac to show up in folder on ipad. And only 2/3 seconds if I copy on ipad to show up in ipad.

This is the best clipboard app I've used overall. I just wish it gave me the option to choose which items I want selected instead of selected everything at once.

I spent the last several hours going through each of the clipboard managers that are on Anybuffer Store. They were all half-baked feature-wise and buggy. I was ready to give up until I came across this app. What a pleasant surprise. It does what it claims and does it very well. I paid for the Pro upgrade only a few minutes after I started using it. You can tell that the developer paid a lot of attention to it. Kudos!

(Feature request: is it possible to define the contents of Smart Folders based on the extension of a file? Currently the only options are the default types. For example, it will be great if I can put all of my markdown files in their own smart folder: currently they mixed with plain (non-markdown) text files.)

Of course this is the best clipboard manager+quick file drawer….Ameba Labs, though small with only a few app offerings, is solid gold. Clean, quick, functional, and the best customer service this side of the walled garden.

Would it be possible to add a shortcut that allows one to rename an item?

Great app, but could you please find a fix for the debris of data (0kb of text files from clipboard data) and the resulting placeholders in the keyboard?
Also, I think the keyboard thumbnails could be even smaller. Just a suggestion, of course.

Big thumbs up for the ability to retain formatting in text. All other apps from the competition stripped it off (I use a lot of bold chars in my texts).

I really amazed by how Anybuffer is easy and wholesome. I can drag any video, pdf doc, article... etc and it will be saved there! This is exactly what I needed! Nothing fancy or complicated and get the job done. Amazing app!

You won’t understand how useful Anybuffer is until you use it. I use multiple productivity apps at the same time, and I’m constantly moving snippets of text, photos, links, etc around. This makes THAT so convenient that it’s a no-brained. JUST GET IT ALREADY — it’s free!

Spend 10-20 minutes like 3 or 4 times creating some shelves and adding a few things to Anybuffer and you’ll find it quite easy to use. Remember to adjust your settings!!

I can’t praise Anybuffer enough—it’s been extremely useful in transferring / managing a client’s website files between two separate FTP servers while on the go.

I think similar apps should take notes for their own good. I was a little iffy with Anybuffer at first also, but that was resolved almost immediately upon opening Anybuffer and just looking at the tidiness of anything I moved from l outside apps.

Warning: Anybuffer is addictive—once you set it up and complete the small learning curve, it’s very hard to work without it. Whether you like to save clips while surfing to refer to later, or whether you are taking notes for research, this app is a big step-saver. On an iPad With SlideOver mode, this app is at its best.

I use it for study of the Scriptures, in slide-over. It’s even replaced the similar function in my Bible study app, for ease of use and because it is so simple to clear the new import tagging function makes it possible to sort.

I have used personal computers for 38 years and everything from Mac to Linux. While function is most important to me with any app, I still become giddy over clipboard apps that are well-designed and pleasing to use. And then I have two thoughts that pop up…(1) I’m excited to imagine where the designer is going with it, and, (2) I hope it is maintained for many years. The developers of this app “get” iOS and MacOS. It blends in and plays with the OS so well it begins to feel fully native to the environment.

With a beautifully-crafted interface and handy features, Anybuffer will quickly become your new favorite. I was pleasantly surprised to find out Anybuffer was ethically engineered by an independent developer on her free time. A truly free app with no ads and no restricted features. Impressive. Underrated. And insufficiently talked about. I will tell everyone I know about Anybuffer!

Very useful app. IMHO this is much better than anything out there at the moment.
The ability to have shelves (folders) *and* labels gives it tremendous flexibility with lots of customization. The smart shelves is a welcome addition. The UI is clean and simple. I just wish I can play with the theme. I’d like to change the dark red color to something else. But I’m nitpicking now.

When I experienced a very fringe-case crashing issue, I contacted the developer. They responded (on a weekend) in less than an hour to help me through the issue. Within a week, a fix was released on Anybuffer Store. That responsiveness alone warrants 5 stars as it shows that they are are receptive to user feedback and will actively develop improvements and feature enhancements.

On the usability front, Anybuffer is just the kind of shelf app that I need, granting it a permanent seat in my Slide Over apps. Clean UI, intuitive layout and navigation, and robust feature set.

A couple requests:
- Provide the option to store web archives of Safari links in tandem with the links themselves. This would elevate Anybuffer into bookmark-management territory, so it might be a stretch, but I’m always nervous my shelved articles will disappear from the web by the time I get around to reading them.
- Open items in full-screen mode instead of the overlay card.
- Nested shelves.

If you are a windows user looking for a clipboard app, this is it. All the other apps on here calling themselves copy or paste or clipboard are not all all what you are looking for. This is essentially Windows Clipboard but better.
