The this app Ryze drone is still sold online and In stores at the end of 2020. And yet, this company cannot or will not update TELLO to support newer mobile devices! I have an iPhone 11, my spouse has a Google Pixle 4XL. Neither work with TELLO. They will NOT connect to the drones WiFi. A handful on Samsung and Sony devices and a ton of the Huwain (spell?) brand that’s banned in the U.S. but that’s it. Get on board with newer support if you are going to sell this drone still or discontinue it! And the Scratch programming it’s supposed to have... no idea where to find that.

I got it to take off but then it wouldn’t respond to anything I did on TELLO . It just drifted into the wall and sat there and wouldn’t respond to anything I did on the remote app on my phone. I caught it *without touching the propellers* and it stopped... I set it down and tried to take off again and it said the unit was overheating and it was shutting down... I took out the battery, let it sit and tried again with a fresh battery... It took of but then just drifted around aimlessly, would not respond to anything thing I selected on TELLO and ended up against a wall... I selected the landing option and it did nothing. I shut TELLO down a pulled it back up and it did nothing.... I ended up having to catch it with my hand *again without touching the propellers* and shutting it off by the button on the side... Drone is being retuned to Nebraska Furniture Mart for refund.

This thing has trouble connecting and staying connected. I don’t see how people can fly this thing outside when it won’t even maintain a connection in my living room. I bought this to see what all the fuss is about drones - when it works for 2 mins at a time it’s kind of cool but I don’t wanna spend an hour closing TELLO , rebooting the drone, and swapping my wifi connection until tho thing finally gives me 2 mins of play time. Should be the opposite (assuming I have battery power for it). Absolute garbage. iPhone XS w iOS 14.5.1

Since the latest iPad iOS update 13.3 the availability to upload photos and videos is not possible. I can see my photos and videos in the application but the minute I go to the select option the screen switch does not show enough of the window to show the select all, upload, and delete icons. As a result I am not able to do anything with the photos or videos I took today. These option were available prior to the latest iOS update. Those icons are still available on the iPhone after the update but not the iPad.

Using my Xs on the latest iOS, this app Firmware and app update. My this app loses connection and hovers 9/10 when I finish a video. I’ve tested different bitrates and quality as well as short videos, deleting TELLO , factory resetting the this app... just about everything I can. Ryze support chat told me it was possibly because the iPhone Xs and Xr aren’t technically supported but the X is. I’m sick of there being a break in communication almost every time I end a recording!

Please update TELLO and resolve this or let folks know what the issue is, I could still return the this app if this is a hardware compatibility issue.

Other than this major issue(the main reason I bought it was for short videos) the drone is really great. Incredibly smooth flight, love the MFi controller support, great battery life for how well it performs, and TELLO works pretty well in most aspects.

It’s a decent product when it works. It takes forever to pair with iPhone, the camera only works half of the time (so half of the time you fly blind), and the battery lasts about 5 minutes before needing to be recharged. Also the WiFi range is about 10 feet and when taking pictures TELLO freezes. The flip auto-maneuvering is pretty neat though. The hovering capabilities are good and the auto landing is quick. Overall a decent practice drone.

The drone flies nicely and the real time video is superb. However TELLO only functions decently on my iPhone running 13.2.3 It only be viewed in one screen orientation, with the screen button on the right.
When running on the mini 4 on 13.2.3 the save to photos feature is totally inoperative, the “send” icon for selected photos does not appear on the screen and TELLO frequently freezes necessitating a system restart. The display appears broken up and incomplete. I hope they fix this.

I had the same problem with video until I went back to the store where I bought my drone. The owner was knowledgeable (more than this app Cust Serv) and had the same issue from his iPhone until he went into settings and calibrated my drone mid-flight. Then video recording started to work normally. On my iPhone (X Max) it then worked without any further calibration. This should be fixed or at least mentioned in the manual. And tech support should know about this at the least! Even better would be a software update that would calibrate automatically, to relieve us of all this frustration.
The drone itself is awesome for the size and price.

I give the this app a 5 Star but TELLO 4. Still a few bugs such as when you set photo quality to high the stabilization for video stops. Unfortunately returning the photo setting to normal still keeps the video stabilization off and requires an app restart.

I would like to see the option to set ISO manually. Keep up the great work Ryze!

It’s really easy to use, theres really no need for a controller. The only thing that bothers me is that TELLO doesn’t remember the settings (Speed mode, photo quality, etc). It’s really annoying to have to do it every time. Other than that, everything is great.

TELLO is great!... But I dinged it one star as you must tell TELLO to set the photo quality to high every time you start up TELLO !... Please make it remember these settings and also it would be nice to have a flight timer to the left of the battery status since you removed the battery % which I assume was not very accurate...

I love TELLO a lot, but I would like to use my bluetooth controller, but I can’t because if I have Bluetooth enabled, it frame skips a lot. So I have to have Bluetooth disabled so I don’t get a ton of frame skipping. So I think there should be an update so you that it doesn’t frame skip when I have Bluetooth on so I can use the controller. Please patch this Bluetooth glitch.

It’s a fun little entry-level drone and great for the price. TELLO is pretty straightforward and easy to use. There seems to be a decent amount of documentation to get you using the drone right away. Something that would be awesome is a self timer function for taking photos. It’s awkward to hold the phone and tap while trying to pose for a selfie. Either that or expose the camera functions in the SDK for DroneBlocks users.

The this app is a great drone however it can get swept away on a windy day more then other drones the pilot may be used to, in order to prevent this the pilot needs to be able to easily switch from normal mode into sport mode however in TELLO currently that is done by entering the settings. It would be so much easier to save the drone from fly always if it was as simple as pressing a button.

Constantly disconnecting, need fix immediately. I can’t fly the drone because it keeps disconnecting every 10 seconds.

However, the support team is amazing! They gave me good instructions based off of what I described, and my drone is back in business! Glad I got in touch with the support team.

My Mavic doesn’t fly well in my apartment so I bought the this app as a trainer. I couldn’t be happier. Well of course I could, but I’m more than satisfied. I’m working on learning to fly with just the “instrument” view. I have also programmed it with SCRATCH. That would be even more fun if some input was available from the flyer, altitude, impact, temperature, battery level, anything. The biggest improvement for me would be noise level reduction, but I don’t know that there’s much they can do there.

I was having the video freeze bug, but the newest update has fixed it and now the drone is great! I’m super satisfied with it and had to come update my review. I encourage everyone else to do the same. Loving the experience with this drone now!!

Just bought the drone and installed the latest version of TELLO and haven’t had any issues taking videos or app freezing. Looks like they fixed the bugs just in time for Christmas

This little drone is packed full of easy to fly controls! Just the fact that there is a sensor that will assist with keeping the drone stable, is simply amazing. TELLO is so easy to use... The video doesn’t save when done, but I’m sure that’s something that will get sorted out. This easy enough for anyone to look like a pro! Outstanding job! Love it!
