I paid big bucks — now have nothing to show

In my opinion, Designers don’t care that I was completely happy with what I already paid them for. I was happy. They deemed my happiness obsolete and “legacy” to force me to buy upgrades and subscriptions. NOT! Only a fool would sit idly and repeat this loss of value and the frustration by giving them even more money to repeat the same evolution. There are better options available.

Great tools, lousy company

This company makes great tools. I have used their apps and they work great. Unfortunately, they do not have any customer loyalty at all. I paid $150 for a complete tool set and got great use out of it for several years. Unfortunately it was written for 32 bit architecture. When Apple forced app developers to update to 64 bit, these guys wrote a new app and started billing monthly. They didn’t bother to update the previous app and now my expensive app toolkit is useless. When I asked for support, they blamed Apple. When I asked about legacy upgrades, they claim Apple won’t let them. The tool kit that most closely resembles the kit I purchased is not over $170 per year. I only need this tool about three times a year. I need a one time fee tool. I’m headed back to SMAART.

Horrible customer relations

I paid for the original version of SignalScopeX $79. Plus other add ons that amounted to maybe $130 total, and they stopped support after a particular version of iOS. In order for me to use it I would have to retrograde my iOS. And this company doesn’t even have the audacity to make even the basic version available to those who have paid for this... I loved SignalScopeX but I paid for a full version and got a subscription that expired in 2018. Not happy

Meh

Doesn’t seem to offer much I couldn’t get for free elsewhere. I signed up for the 7 day free trail for the Advanced Tool set which turns out to not offer much. Everything of interest I was informed I would need the Pro Tools set. Unfortunately I can’t change the trail once it’s started and there is no way I’m gambling $50 to see if that’s any better since the Advanced Tool set was such a disappointment. The room analyzer peeked my interest but of course you need the pro version to access that.

Too expensive

I’m on board with everyone else. While SignalScopeX is very full featured, I can’t justify the continuing costs, and rather expensive costs at that. I can go with a one time cost of the very good Studio Six apps for the same cost. And now I just read that the existing Faber apps won’t work next month when iOS 12 is released. Very disappointing. I understand that subscriptions are an attractive model to go after, but you have to evaluate your client base and understand what their pressure points are when it comes to recurring costs. Very disappointed.

Shame on you. Restore my SignalScope original

I loved the original SignalScope app and purchase almost all of the optional capabilities to the tune of ~$90 and used them frequently for casual audio engineering and musical curiosity. I showed it off to my engineering friends and musician friends alike all the time.
With the later “upgrade” to SignalScope X which doesn’t have any of my add ins I can’t do anything cool at all without buying an $8/month subscription. NOW YOU BRICKED THE OLD SIGNALSCOPE APP AND IT WONT OPEN AND I AM BEYOND FURIOUS. I’ve already spent a whole lot on your company and app and then you want more money to do the same thing???!? Shame. One star. Goodbye.

Too expensive

While this is a great 5-star app, it's way to pricey for me. For less than the cost of a yearly subscription to the advanced tools, I bought a handheld rechargeable digital color oscilloscope that does FFTs, measures voltages, and supports 2 channels simultaneously. Much more versatile without the need for my phone. It may not have all the features SignalScopeX has, but you gotta draw the line on over-priced software. Maybe if I owned a high-end recording facility...

I've found so many uses for the hand-held scope. And I get free upgrades for life as new features come out. Oh, yeah, it also self-calibrates.

When software is more expensive than a stand-alone device, somethings wrong.

Don’t buy!

But only if you don’t mind lame excuses 2 years later. I purchased the original in December 2017, paid about $100. As of September 2019 it stopped working. You want me to pay a subscription great, refund my $100 and then maybe I will. Tired of all these subscription based apps. I use SignalScopeX once a month, not worth it. If they were good devs they would update the original instead of screwing all of us! Yes you could very well have predicted an update would brick SignalScopeX , it happens more often than not. Line 6 fixed their issues when IOS 13 bricked the Sonics! To those who are in the same boat as me the only way to fix it is use an older iPad like an air 1, it can’t be updated to iOS 13.

U guys made a mistake

I paid $70 for the pro app 5 years ago. It was expensive for an app, but i feel I’ve gotten my money’s worth. I really love the pro app. As a professional sound engineer, what i use the most is the octave analyzer. And it’s just crazy to think i’m going to now pay over $70 a year to get that analyzer. When i just found a pretty decent one for $4.99. A one time payment!! Dude.... Its a smartphone! We all know SignalScopeX is really tight and well done and its kindda close to what u get out of a real pro meter. But its a smartphone microphone!!! The hardware is simply not that accurate for u guys to pretend this product is worth over $70 a year. Get off that cloud. Its really sad because i really loved SignalScopeX. I would even pay the $1.99 a month on top of the initial $70 i paid because its a work tool and i understand u have to keep updating SignalScopeX with every new iphone that comes out, but... the cheaper subscriptions dont have the octave analyzer! I hope u guys open ur eyes.

You won’t be happy, the negative reviews are accurate

Like so many others I purchased SignalScopeX , and expensive add-ons from this developer. I too paid well over $100 for the software. SignalScopeX no longer works. I exchanged emails with them, and they have lots of talking points to explain why your expensive software no longer works, and you should buy it all over again for even more money, with no real added features. It comes down to this, the developer wants more money. Ok, sure, why not? Except they want the money from the people who already paid for it. SignalScopeX is disabled, so you either pay them all over again, or you software is a brick that won’t even open. They want to blame Apple. Really? They want to move to a subscription model, and they are going to make you pay. If you haven’t already purchased this software, I would suggest you think whether you want to be treated the way we have been. There are alternatives available. Why suffer the pain of dealing with this developer who treats his customers so poorly? The problem isn’t the software, it’s that the developer has no regard for their customers, and, to put it simply, won’t do the right thing. BTW, just found the Spectrum app.

not actually free

if you want to use the tools you actually want like the spectrogram, you have to pay a subscription

No Free Trial

Advertised with free trial. Open it up, boom, subscription required. Why not be forthcoming? Deleted and moving on.

Bad app

Horrible app, had to download for school and it had a whole complicated lab that was very annoying to do

Not free

fft requires a subscription. Are you kidding me?

EDIT : I don't have a problem with paying for a good product, but not even letting you do an fft renders the free portion of the tool practically useless. SignalScopeX can be downloaded for free, but it actually requires a subscription. No thanks.

Takes over txt and csv files

SignalScopeX takes over basic file types on the phone and does not allow overrides.

Please support audiobus

I want to tune a pair of speaker monitors to flat using a parametric EQ.

The easiest way to do this would be to use audiobus to send the signal sweep output of SignalScope to the same EQ I use with other apps. But SignalScope cannot send its output to audiobus.

Better than expected

I’m a long time user of AudioTools and Smaart. So far this application looks good, is responsive and less buggy than others. I know it’s expensive and subscription based but the other tools are quite expensive as there is not a large user base. SPL calibration worked flawlessly. For live sound I love that I can simultaneously monitor RTA, spectroscope, dB at multiple weightings and sound exposure etc. I’ve also tuned with dual channel measurement and worked flawlessly(although I slightly prefer Smaart for this one thing…). Only thing I haven’t sorted is how to change scale of Y axis to custom ranges I’m interested in…. The fact that this works with single subscription on my phone, iPad and Mac really deals the deal for me.

Captured (saw) hum in vehicle when others didn't.

I had a low amplitude hum in my motor vehicle after a crash and repair. It was irritating me but two other spectrum analyzer/FFT apps didn't "see" it, probably because of road rumble noise that was almost as loud, overwhelming the measurement. This SignalScope X app did see it, which I showed the mechanic. I recommend it.

Great audio analysis tools

SignalScope X audio analysis tools offer quite a lot of signal information in exchange for the monthly subscription rate.

With the newest release, Faber Acoustical gives the user even more bang for their buck with the addition of new sound analysis tools such as “RoomScope,” and enhanced file handling capabilities which can be used even without a subscription.

The variety of subscription plans and rates provide pro audio analysis solutions that accommodate any budget.

SignalScope the Best by Far

SignalScope is the best sound and vibration analyzer app for iPhones and MacBooks, by far, available for professional testing and analysis.

There are many apps out there that claim to be sound level meters and octave analyzers. They do not have calibrated and verified mesurement capabilities. You can trust the results from SignalScope. You cannot from many other apps.

Also, those who complain that SignalScope costs money do not understand the technical issues of making good quality measurements. It takes much engineering knowledge and skill to develop and support an application like SignalScope.

I am not a fan of cliches, but it is true, you get what your pay for.
