WatchChat 2: Chat on Watch Reviews

so a few days ago there was a problem updating WatchChat2 so I contacted Customer Service and Alex was so helpful in explaining the problem which was not their fault at all so after a few days WatchChat2 was up and running again and he took the time to email me and let me know, I was able to update and has been working perfectly fine for me, I suggest if anyone ever runs into an issue to contact CS as they’re very responsive and helpful.

This is WatchChat2 for anyone using WhatsApp and an Apple Watch. Apple does not allow for WhatsApp on the Apple Watch and this amazing app bridges that gap. using WatchChat2, you will be able to read and respond to WhatsApp messages through WatchChat.
I had a glitch when I went to upgrade and Alex responded quickly. I’m so appreciative of the software that I paid to subscribe for a year when I don’t really need the advanced features.

So far this is the best app option for connecting WhatsApp to my phone and bridging the gap in communication to my Apple Watch. Had a few glitches as with any app, reached out to the developers and they were surprisingly quick to respond and the problem was solved almost instantly. Excellent communication and Superior Customer Service. Would highly recommend. Continue to improve.

I was looking for WhatsApp app to my Apple Watch. I’ve looked for many apps, some with thousands of reviews. WatchChat 2 had lots of good reviews, and even if it was not thousands of reviews they helped me to see that this is the best option. I had problems to make WatchChat2 run perfectly in the watch, but the support helped me with everything really fast. I would like to recommend it!

Due to no fault of WatchChat2 , but with apple’s watchOS and PhoneOS update I lost the ability to sync. The watch app mentions that one should contact support, given I tried to sync 4 times. I did so at midnight and received an email with clear instructions on how to fix this in 30 mins. Job done - with over 200 apps installs this is the only one offering such direct and effective support - bravo !

WatchChat2 has changed the way I use my watch and phone for the better! It’s simple and straightforward to use and has everything I need to access WhatsApp on my wrist.

V grateful for Alex and the team for creating this for us. It’s been said before but, it’s worth repeating that their customer service is second to none. Keep it up!

Very functional and with my case that I’m on iOS beta 14.5 where I can’t hear vice messages in the phone sometimes but I can hear it in WatchChat2 . Support has been good and quick to answer my questions . Some issues are ios based and not necessarily WatchChat2 itself . To be that it’s third party since iOS / WhatsApp has not offered , this does the job

I’ve been using WatchChat for several months. I’ve found it to be extremely functional and reliable. The perfect solution for receiving my messages on the run when my phone is out of reach. It even lets me see photos. I also got a prompt response from the developer when I asked a question. Definitely recommend.

WatchChat2 is very easy to install and it works very nicely. I can see the pictures and sickers swnt on the chats. It’s easy yo connect to and easy to sync with the whatsapp app on the phone. Also, amazing customer service. If you have any issues write an email and you will get a teapinse in no time with a solution to your problem. I recommend WatchChat2 !

WatchChat2 is working perfectly fine now after Alex(customer service) guided me how to set my WhatsApp application on my phone. I am really really impressed with the service, Alex is really really helpful, responsible and enthusiastic, he responded to my email quickly, and problem solved out, feels like I’m the only customer 😃

I’m using WatchChat2 and it’s pretty durable but i’m wondering if there’s a way i can receive notification on my watch through WatchChat2 directly not through regular whatsapp as in many time i wanna to reply through voice note after receiving the message directly

May 21: Love WatchChat2. Have had no issues since installation last month. Giving it 5* because it is WAD. Wish I could use it to call international from my watch at no charge, as with WhatsApp. Would gladly pay an annual subscription for that feature.

I love WatchChat2; been using it since I got my watch 2 years ago. It had always worked great until a recent update. Had an issue. Reached out for help, and had the fix I needed very quickly. Back up and running now! Highly recommend WatchChat2 for WhatsApp on your Apple Watch.

I was hesitant but saw the clip on you tube and downloaded the watch app 2 on my phone and Apple Watch series 6. Within minutes I had no results but the Best customer service by Alex via e-mail. The only thing I had to do was restart my phone and watch so they can sync each other via Bluetooth.
3 days free trial I only tried for half a day and bought it on my phone for $2.99 for a year.
So far the customer service by Alex ( whichever country he is in ) and WatchChat2 deserves a 5 plus ratings.
Thanks a lot because without What’s App app I had to carry my phone everywhere.

Worked well and shows basic conversations and pics on my watch7.
Had some connection issues after i screwed up some settings but received email from Alex within hours with fix.

I use WatchChat2 quite a bit and it’s very handy to have for my iwatch. I ran into a small issue and reached out to support and Alex responded very quickly and helped me resolve my issue.

I got WatchChat2 a few months ago and it was working great until yesterday and I contacted customer service and Alex right away helped me out. He had clear communication through e-mail. The bug was fixed within hours.

There was a definite need for WatchChat2. It’s my/our lifeline to my family back in the Netherlands. It is unreal how quick this developer responded to my issue. He had the issue resolved in 2 emails… customer service is in my opinion the most important part of an app. Thanks!!

I purchased but WatchChat2 on watch keeps asking me to pay to unlock messages. I have tried to restore purchase but no luck.

Just attempted to purchase a subscription and then I received a message that I had already purchased WatchChat2 and everything unlocked. Running smoothly now.

This is an excellent app but it can be better. The developer has done a terrific job considering WhatsApp hasn’t put this out for us using Apple Watch and is improving it quickly.
Notifications are done through Apple Watch notifications and WhatsApp. Sure you can respond to a message this way but you can’t see an entire chat or prior message once you’ve responded. Using WatchChat2 you can see a chat with pictures and recordings. You can see all of your chats and choose which to respond to. You can’t do that without WatchChat2. It is definitely worth the $3 and I’m sure it will get better. Give the developer time and suggestions. Refresh can be faster. Can notifications be better? how about when receiving a notification, having a button that takes you directly to the chat? Right now if I get a notification and I want to read the thread I have to get out of notifications and open watch chat to see the conversation and respond. Thanks.

Here are things you can and cannot do with WatchChat2 on your watch: you will get all notification perfectly, you can open all the conversations you have, open a voice message, type a message (only in English unfortunately), record a voice message to become a typed message (also in English only), replay with any emoji you want, open and zoom a picture, send a quick reply (you can set your own), send a scribble. You cannot: make a voice call (but you will get a notification after someone call you), type or record a message other than English (very sadly).
For me, WatchChat2 deserves a 5 star for having these amazing features, but i still really wish if i can make a voice call or at least type or record a message in my language (Arabic). I hope Arabic language will be add soon by the developer.

You get most of the basic stuff from whatsapp like replying, voice messages, photos, see your recent conversations and search contacts. Overall I think it's a great app... When it works.

Most of the time WatchChat2 freezes and you can't see new messages also if you try to send a message it might look like it was sent but once you get into your phone you'll notice the message is not even there.

You'll need to close WatchChat2 , unlock your phone, sometimes even reinstall it just to make it work for a few hours before it freezes again.

WatchChat2 is great and I know the OS has many limitations also since this is a third party app it makes it a lot more difficult to implement all of the features available from whatsapp and make sure they work but still it needs to improve a lot, I rather have a couple of basic features cause at the end of the day the apple watch is not meant to replace your iPhone but at least have those couple features work like they should be.

It was irritating to learn that the WhatsApp app folks have not yet modified their App to be fully compatible with the new Apple Watch I just purchased. Getting WhatsApp notifications on my watch is and was something I want and need. Fortunately I discovered WatchChat 2. It pretty much does everything I need and want it to - and it works well. A huge plis is being able to get thoughtful and quick feedback from the developer. I had a few questions regarding installation, use of, and access to the WatchChat app - and the developer answered them quickly, thoughtfully and articulately.

Bottom line - not only is this a functional and incredibly useful app - but customer and technical service and help directly from the developer make it a great one, in my opinion.

I don’t normally take the time to write detailed reviews - but the quality and usefulness of WatchChat2 - combined with the intellogent and helpful customer support from the developer - mean a lot to me.

I just bought WatchChat2 and honestly would have asked for a refund if I could. WatchChat2 takes for ever to load voice messages and when they start playing they suddenly stop. Also I can't lower my wrist as the minute the apple watch screen turns off the voice message stops playing. Basically the voice message feature is broken in this application which is one of the main reason to purchase the application. Also application constantly freezez and I have to relaunch it to get it to work. Finally the UI is extremely unpolished for an app that costs $3. It has potential but needs lots of improvement. Also doesn't ring when you get calls. Can't leave voice messages. Finally it didn't support gifs. Deffinetely not worth the price.

After I learned there wasn’t a physical WhatsApp app for the Apple Watch I decided to purchase this one and try it out. In the beginning I was having trouble with setting it all up. I waited the 40-60 mark and nothing happened. The “retry” option wasn’t working either so I contacted support. They got back to me that same day with the solution to reset both my phone and the watch and pair them again. WatchChat2 is now fully functioning and is great! I would recommend WatchChat2. Hopefully WatchChat2 will be updated with improvements further in the future.

It has worked for me at the moment, but my only complaint is that I cannot receive the notifications directly from WatchChat2 for when the message arrived, reply to you through WatchChat2 and not through the notification provided by the Apple Watch. Also, not being able to edit the conversations (delete, archive) directly from the watch without having to use the iPhone; not being able to see the status of WhatsApp; and the one that every time you enter WatchChat2 you have to wait seconds per connection and it doesn’t do it instantly.

WatchChat2 is ok. It needs works. What I like; You can start conversation, reply & send audio. What I don’t like it is the audio playback and audio recording turns off due to Apple Watch screen going to sleep to save battery, you have to keep turning crown to keep it on it put your watch to never sleep. I use WhatsApp a lot with family members. If they used something else to send and receive messages I’d go with a different messaging system. This is a great concept but definitely needs work. Not worth the $3 more like $1 app.

I purchased WatchChat2 last night thinking that it would improve the way I communicate on WhatsApp through my watch. But it doesn’t even send WhatsApp notifications to your watch. You have to open WatchChat2 on your watch, refresh it, wait a few seconds, and then you can see the conversation. I guess that’s the only purpose of WatchChat2 - to see the full conversation of a chat - and I’m not sure why you would need to do that. It’s much easier to just use the WhatsApp notifications that you already get on your watch from WhatsApp and respond that way. WatchChat2 doesn’t allow you to do that because there are no notifications. Therefore, WatchChat2 is pretty much useless and certainly not needed.

Initially I had a bit a trouble getting WatchChat2 installed to my watch, but the developer was VERY responsive when I wrote about my problem. Within a few minutes I was online and everything works great. I think my problem might have been a weak WiFi signal but at any rate, WatchChat2 ranks high up on my list because the developer shows commitment to his product. So nice to have all your conversations on the watch and be able to respond right from the watch. Hats off to WatchChat2.

Have used WatchChat2 for about a month and a half. So far I have enjoyed being able to reply through the watch, and also being able to create your own quick messages. However, from my experience you have to refresh WatchChat2 on the watch and have WhatsApp open on your phone so the message goes through. Also recently I have contacted the developer and he is very good in replying about any problem or inquiry. I appreciate that.

I was having trouble scanning the QR but he was intouch and helping out till i got it to work. I love it! It was worth the $3! I wish the list of my msj could refresh faster and when i get a notification to just be able to click and open the convo instead of having to close and open WatchChat2 . I enjoy listening to the recording now on my iwatch and being able to see pics instead of having to get my phone out to do that.

I like all the features except that I have not been able to use it with cellular. If I am not close to my phone, I cannot use it. I downloaded to be connected with my students during trips, but it has only been working with my phone close to it.
If someone can let me know how I can use it with cellular or if that feature can be added, WatchChat2 would be great.

I recently switched to an Apple Watch Series 5 (before Fitbit Versa) and I really missed seeing my WhatsApp messages. I watched some YouTubers and they recommend WatchChat2. After having some installing issues, I contacted the customer service and let me tell you, best customer service I’ve received in a long time. Alexander guided me step by step and it’s working now and I’m thrilled to see all my WhatsApp messages on my watch!

I tried some of the other free alternatives and couldn’t get them to work. I’m surprised such a popular messenger service doesn’t offer a native client for the Apple Watch.

Having said that, I haven’t noticed any recent reviews and, if you’re like me, wanted something recent that gave a little more indication of what’s working.

I set it up in a matter of seconds, much like the other alternatives, which reaffirmed the other ones didn’t work. This one populated the messages and I’m able to scroll through.

I wish there were ways to better show the different groups (IE bold/different font), but guessing Apple causes some limitation, perhaps.

I use WhatsApp a lot, and for me, just having something display the messages I see on a group chat is worth it. I’ll update the review once I use it more.
