Cant use rewards or giftcards

Every-time i use SouthBlock for over a year if will not allow you to use your rewards. It always come back as a failed purpose, whats the point of earning them if u cant use them. SouthBlock also doesnt even allow an option to use giftcards that they sell but dont tell you until after that they dont work in SouthBlock . P

Rarely works

About 50% of the time it doesn’t actually place the order. The order status is never accurate and it constantly charges the credit card but says payment has failed

Don’t know how an app that’s sole purpose is to let you order food only seems to actively prevent you from doing that

Terrible most of the time, nice when it occasionally works

SouthBlock refuses to allow you to use your rewards. Every attempt results in “payment failed” with no clear indication that it has “failed” We’ve emailed the support team, who basically stopped talking to us, so clearly they don’t care about their customers. This is unbelievably frustrating and the lack of convenience provided by SouthBlock makes me have no interest in further using the service. South block has effectively stolen money from their customers by refusing to provide a functional rewards system.

Can’t make substitutions

South Block has an extremely irritating online system. You can’t place a call, they tell you to text. So you text and they tell you that you can’t place orders via test and to do it online or via SouthBlock . So online i try to place my order but can’t make any subs (strawberries instead of blueberries) so I download SouthBlock , but it’s the same thing as ordering online. There is absolutely no advantage to having SouthBlock .

What is the point of trying to limit the amount of time inside a store if you don’t have a fully functioning online presence?

Buggy and not ready for use

Extremely buggy. The older app was better even if not great. This version is very buggy. Had to quit and start multiple times just to advance past the entering phone number option. Despite supporting Apple Pay, the option regularly disappears, and it will not allow me to checkout with Apple Pay selected.

It never works

SouthBlock is useless. It didn’t work for me a few months ago, so today I deleted it and redownloaded it. Completed what I thought was my purchase and drove to the store. When I looked at SouthBlock again it showed no order. By then I went in the store and had them check so I wasn’t double charged. There is no point in using SouthBlock if I have to do this.

Account issues

I already had a phone number associated with my account, no email, but with the new app launch I am unable to create an account because my phone number is already an active account. I cannot login as an existing member because I don’t have an email account. And I cannot use the guest checkout because it won’t accept an order without an account. Very frustrating

Chaos

I never write reviews, but this experience is pretty pathetic for a company of this size. I was trying to order ahead of time, but couldn’t because it wasn’t finding my account and tried guest checkout but there was no Apple Pay option. Drove to the store. Employees were confused about SouthBlock but mentioned there was a bunch of mess with the new app. I signed up for the new app in the store, but because even with an account the new app DOESNT have Apple Pay, I couldn’t pay. So now, I resort to paying the cashier but they were unable to find my account. Ended up paying cash and not getting any points for my purchase because they couldn’t find my account. All this for a dang açaí bowl. Old app worked fine. SMDH!

Allow customers to use their rewards

What is the point of rewards if you can’t actually use them on SouthBlock or online? I’ve tried having the issue resolved in person and via the text help to no avail. The only time you can actually use your rewards is in store. So ridiculous. Having a functional app is a basic expectation of most customers nowadays.

Not working

I ordered through SouthBlock many times, and it is a hit or miss. The latest is that my credit card got charged three times but the store still doesn’t see my order. No order, no food. :( Since you cannot call them to order, the only option to walk in and wait forever, which sometimes I have to do even if I placed my order online. It is a mess.

Quite buggy

I downloaded SouthBlock when the promotion was running, and the deals they offered were great.. but I’ve run into significant issues twice trying to redeem them.. and only used SouthBlock twice. The first time, I tried to use the free classic smoothie reward (separate from stars). It wouldn’t work via pickup order, so I went to the cafe to order there. Seemed like everything went through fine after some troubleshooting, but it charged me 200 stars for a large juice (?) retroactively. The next week, my sister attempted to gift a friend and I a bowl and smoothie via separate orders with her rewards and it charged her for both instead. We ended up needing to go to the store in-person to pay so she could get a refund. Use with caution.

Customization Options Incomplete

I love the almond butter bowl. However, SouthBlock does not allow substitutions and for some toppings, has no option to leave them off completely. And there is no place to type in additional notes. Also, if you want to sub one topping for another, you will be charged for an additional topping. I think that’s pretty unfair for an already expensive product. For the price they charge, you should have the option to be as specific as you want without being overcharged and still have the convenience of using SouthBlock .

Love the Smoothies, Detest the App

I ordered regularly online in advance using my phone number in the past, so they could
make my smoothies and they would be ready when I arrived, and I can earn the rewards.

But, suddenly, back in October 2023, it just stopped accepting my phone number when I entered it online.

Despite multiple attempts to get it fixed both in-store and online, it still gives me an error message when enter my phone number on SouthBlock or the website. It doesn’t help there is no phone support.

But, somehow, they can find my account when I order in person. It’s frustrating not to be able to order online.

I’d like to see a fix for this issue, otherwise, I may have to forgo South Block smoothies going forward.

Not great

The old app was way better than this new one. I can't even use apple pay to check out anymore! App doesn't allow you to save favorite stores anymore so I have to go in and search location every time. Previous orders are also not saved anymore. Overall wayyyy worse experience

Can’t use rewards in app

There’s a button to “use rewards” towards payment but you’ll get a “payment failed” message EVERY TIME. Please stop messing with us and just remove the option if it’s never going to work.

Past Orders

I hope they can fix this next time they update. The new app makes it much harder to order the same thing each time if you’re a regular. Clicking “Past Orders” is just the beginning of the saga. Takes 7 clicks total to just reorder the same thing you ordered the day before. Previous app was more optimized for reorders.

How can you leave a tip?

The stores are all cash-free. I asked how you leave a tip and more than one employee told me to do it in SouthBlock , but I can’t find anyplace to indicate a tip amount. Is that something intentional?

Other than that, I like SouthBlock and love South Block.

Terrible to reload app on the new phone

Got a new phone and trying to load SouthBlock back on is a joke. You have to it your number but then the number they text to authenticate through speed tab will never work. It’s an endless frustrating loop. Unfortunate because I used to order from South Block 3 or 4 times a week but can’t any longer

New South Block App is SO GOOD!!!

Thank you South Block for SouthBlock and order process update. This is now extremely easy to use and get points. My favorite place!

Can’t add toppings

Frustrating that Daeback12’s comment from 3 years ago is still relevant. Can’t add toppings 90% of the time. I love the store, but if I want to order ahead, it’s easier to make at home if I want to add protein.
