Works for some but not all banking type transactions and services?

I’ve used this card for quite some time now. I switched for a short while to another banking app, not gonna say who (chime) but they tried to rip me off for an entire paycheck and I left! Came back running to intuit! I’ve had fraudulent charges here once, and intuit quickly flagged the transaction stoping further transactions and canceling card. The transactions still went through however :(! But, I was refunded in a timely matter although I had to jump through their hoops :( you have to post mail a letter to them providing I guess a paper trail that you are serious about the dispute? I didn’t understand why this was necessary but I ended up with a refund!
The new card came VERY quickly as well! Surprisingly fast! With that other banking app (chime) it took literally 12 days to get a néw card from them!
Like I said some times banking feature work, other times (or banks?) don’t! Apple isn’t compatible with Turbo? Weird right? Anyway! Aside from the $4.95 monthly fee for using this service I have no issues with Intuit’s “bank-like” service. But get no illusions, IT ISN’T A BANK! And like other “banking apps” they are simply out to make a buck off ya just like the banks and every other money service in the world. Except Chime they are free right? Lol!

Card Hacked!!! Whatever you do do not get this card.

HONEST REVIEW:
I have a traditional bank and this card/app!
My account was hacked and account was fully depleted!!!! The compass sending me through hoops even though I called them to advise them that the card may have been compromised. They advised me that they would turn off the account and block all transactions and send me a check in the mail for the full amount that they were able to verify was still in my account. 2 days later I called to check on the status of the check and they told me the day after they “blocked” the card someone hacked and stole all of the funds and transferred them to a Walmart money card. Of course I am livid because this was completely avoidable by Green Dot/ Turbo Tax card because they should have locked the card as promised! Now I am being sent through hoops to file a dispute!!!! It’s been almost 3 weeks and every customer service rep has been rude and disrespectful!!!! I am out of my money and yes it was a substantial amount!!!!

THE WORST-super frustrating

This bank is the worst. I had a dispute and was told after 10 business days that if a decision was not made that a credit would automatically be provided. 15 business days later still no credit. I keep getting sent through hoops and transferred to a department that I later found out does not have access to phones because they are a “back end” department. They “escalated” my claim and said I should have an update within 24 hours turns out that means 3 business days since their hours are 9-5. -this is after finding out my claim has been extended to 45 days. After explaining their policy to them multiple times and showing proof that I am clearly eligible I am still being told I have to wait. The icing on the cake is I reached out to the merchant for the despute and was told that they haven’t heard anything from the bank. DO NOT BANK WITH THEM.

Garbage bank

App works fine, is actually pretty well built. Review is for the company itself. Garbage bank decided to take on fees we were all unaware of which put most of our accounts in the negative(many users only use the card for refunds and then forget it until the next year) and due to garnishment protections via the irs on the second stimulus, prevented our stimulus from being loaded onto our cards without any advance warning. Tried to call to figure out what’s going on, and the automated “help” tells you not to call in with questions regarding the stimulus, takes your info, then says something about “maintenance” and hangs up on you. This is abysmal customer service. Please do yourselves a favor and don’t use this card. If you must use turbo tax, set up direct deposit with a bank you trust rather than use their card service.

Not a bank Card. Can not transfer money

TurboCard is well built. Thecard functions well. It can be added to PayPal as a debit card card but not a bank account. It can be added to some but not all Investment firms. I’ve had no issues with TurboCard .
My problem is the inability to be able to generate a monthly statement when or if needed. And the inability to initiate transfers of money to other financial institutions.
But if you are not able to get a traditional bank account for one reason or another, TurboCard and account will do the trick.
Either use it for your refund then close the account or be sure to have the minimal direct deposit going into the card to avoid fees.

Overall it’s good

I have used this for about a year now. It works like a bank for the most part. You can send money back and forth like Chase on TurboCard itself with some verification. You can also use PayPal and Facebook pay. However, it doesn’t work with Venmo or Cashapp. There’s an atm fee unless you’re at a participating CVS or other participating companies. I can receive direct deposit on it but I’m still unsure if you can load physical money/ checks onto your card from participating companies? I am able to use this account to pay bills and what not like a bank’s debit card and that’s why I have stuck with it.

Way more Hassle than it’s worth

Not a secure place for your money by any means!!! Customer Service is an absolute joke. They have the absolute LONGEST waiting period to release funds or return funds. Even if it’s an authorization reversal IT CAN (& OFTEN DOES) take 10 BUSINESS DAYS before that money is available to you again!!! It just seems CROOKED since NO money ACTUALLY left their banking institution but was just “set aside” from customers account to ensure funds available when merchant finalizes payment requests!! SO THE MONEY IS STILL WITHIN THEIR CONTROL & SHOULD BE SIMPLE TO JUST PUT BACK INTO ACCOUNT!!! Most banks & credit unions policy is within 3-5 business days holds will be released....so this policy just seems extensive!!!

Worst mistake ever

I never received my card. The temporary card details were only available for a short period of time. I should have transferred all of my funds out since now I have no card and I can’t use my funds. I have to request a new card and wait for it to arrive when their first one never arrived. So what faith do I have this new one will arrive. Their customer service team as a joke. Daniel or whoever it was that I chatted with just keep copying and pasting the same responses over and over. During the time when most Americans are looking for a job it’s sickening to know that there are people out there that have a job and don’t take pride in it.

GREAT APP

This is app is amazingly easy to use and it makes me feel very secure being able to move my money over to TurboCard ’s vault. This feature also keeps me from over spending and once you move your money back to available funds the money is immediately available. Not to mention getting my tax refunds and stimulus checks fast. Great app Turbo Tax!!

Worst card ever

DO NOT GET IT!!! They lie and tell you you’ll get your check sooner NOT TRUE. I wait like everyone else at my job! No customer service either!! IF your lucky enough to get a hold of someone, they talk like robots with scripted answers, rude, and do not solve issues! I didn’t get my direct deposit but people at my job with regular banks did. I’ve been trying to find out where my money is, and they won’t give answers. Nowhere to load money, I do not advise! I’m spamming social media with screenshots of my chats with them to warn people not to use!

If I could give 0 stars I would

First and foremost, I got my tax return on this card. No issue. The issues started when we received the first Economic impact payment;
I had money just VANISH from my account, and I was never able to get it back. One minute I had plenty of money, and the next my account was in the negative. There’s no customer service so I was never able to have it resolved.

Then they closed my account without my knowledge, and unexpectedly reopened it, (why, I don’t know, it’s not helping anyone at this point) so when the second round of payments came out for everyone else, mine was rejected and sent back to be put in the mail.
So I get to worry about how I’m going to sustain life for myself aand my baby much longer then I should have to, and I have this cardholder service to thank for it.

Just don’t do it.

Trash. Horrible customer service.

TurboCard tells you to cancel your card just leave the balance zero and they will cancel automatically. It never happened fast forward 3 months, I log back into my acct to see if I even can and if my stimulus got sent there. No stimulus, and now have a negative balance due to monthly fees. I have been calling to get this resolved and haven’t been able to get through. DROP DOWN QUESTIONS TO RESOLVE CUSTOMER ISSUES DO NOT HELP! UPDATE YOUR CALL CENTER. PEOPLE NEED TO SPEAK TO LIVE REPS TO HANDLE ISSUES. Been doing taxes with y’all for years. NEVER AGAIN.

Can transfer $$$$

I love TurboCard I can receive my direct deposit before everyone at work by a day. I can link it to my Apple Pay and send money to wife or friends and depending on atm you can withdraw $2500 a day. It’s perfect for someone refused for a Checking's account.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

I’ve been trying to dispute a transaction that wasn’t not mine for almost two weeks. I’ve called and was hung up on. I waited 45 mins to get on the phone. Then keeps putting me on hold for 10 mins at a time. I was transferred 4 times. Just to be hung up on again. I’ve dude everything that they told me to do and it’s not working. Now I can’t even get someone to answer. And I’m not saying everyone there is bogus. Just my experience. Change my mind.

Jujubabies is spot on

I have had several positive experiences with my Green Dot account. That being said - DO NOT lose your card... it can become a nightmare to get a replacement.

One quick piece of advice - take a picture of your card when you receive it. It goes a long way should you ever lose your card.

Trash

I would never use TurboCard again, the bank closes your account out of no where. You will have no access to your money. It’s impossible to reach anybody to get any type of help or reason why they’ve closed the account . Green Dot is the worst bank to ever open and needs to be shut down. I still haven’t received my money from the and they’ve closed my account with not notification to me what’s so ever.

Never change phone numbers or emails or you will never have access to your app again. Customer service is no help with updating the info on their end even if you verify all information on the account. Why have 2 step verification in your app when your CS can't assist when someone does something normal like get a new phone number. Ridiculous

Ordering a Card

How do you actually get a card? I have been on the phone, being transferred around the carousel. Each link/website that I tried to use is either broken or no longer exist. We’re simply looking for a card that can be linked to our Company QBO account. Any meaningful information on getting a card would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Won’t even log on!

Can’t even log on to TurboCard at all. I know my login to the website, use the same login credentials and said it was wrong. I follow the process, still wouldn’t work. Now I have to call each time for my balance

After finally being able to log on and have the account finally set up, I am a bit happier with TurboCard and what I can do with it. BUT, just like the last review, it takes way too long to deposit a check. When I deposited the check it said it could take one day to five days but then received an email saying it would take a week! That’s just too long to wait! I looked yesterday and it said it’s still on hold. This is not a personal check, it is from a major corporation. TurboCard has potential but Green Dot NEEDS to fix this issue before it would receive 5 stars! I wanted to use it for direct deposit with my job but kind of worried.

Easy to use

After being blackballed by BOA for something that was not my fault I was grateful to have any account at all. I had very low expectations in the beginning with this bank, but I have been pleasantly surprised. The only things I would like to see improvement on is customer service. I think they farm out their service reps overseas...most you can’t understand and forget it if you need anything done that is the least bit complex. However, that being said BOA has first rate customer service but you pay for it in the end with their outrageous fees. Even when I can get a “big girl” account someday at a sticks and bricks bank. I will probably keep this account for my fun money...

Great!

I have used prepaid cards in the past. This one is the best in my opinion that I’ve used. My direct deposits are always a day or sometimes two days early!!! Checks always available the date the day after mobile deposits, never had a hold up. TurboCard is easy the use. All banks charge for savings, you can put money in your “stash” for free like a savings. Transactions and notifications of transactions are immediately posted. I have no had a single issue. Paper checks do seem to take 5-7 business days, I wish it was more like 1-3 business days like the bank. But that’s my only critique and I can live with that.

Won’t log on app or website

I’ve had hundreds of errors and different problems loading transactions and now because it wouldn’t read my fingerprint to login I had to go through multiple steps to get my password reset, now it won’t log on to TurboCard or website. I just deleted and reinstalled app so I’ll see if it will work. This has been about the second week in a row I’ve had problems back to back not able to load funds to my card while sitting where I needed to use my card, had to wait until the next night to do what I needed to do now I’m back in a critical situation and it’s not working , again .

I have always had the most recent version and have contacted, the customer service doesn’t help with TurboCard .

Never use mobile deposit.

Tried to mobile deposit a check for the first time, the instructions say it will be fast and simple but it is not at all. I am on day number 6 without my PAYROLL check and I’m sitting here wondering what’s so hard about cashing that type of check. Walmart can do it in 15 seconds but they don’t have the ability to make online purchases or I would’ve done it that way. Google says it usually takes one to three business days too. So in conclusion this card service shouldn’t be used by anyone who wants to add money to a card or have a bank service, it should only be used to receive your taxes, spend the money then immediately cancel. Plus customer service is also terrible and it would seem that they intentionally hire people who you can’t understand at all. (Even called twice)

Tax return

So I did my taxes and opted for the refund advance. Got an email stating to setup my login info, after I finished and tried to login to access my account, they locked me out of it and now I have to wait 24hrs. It said my advance was available to use online and the card would arrive within 5-10days. I can’t reset the password cause it’s asking info about the card that I don’t have yet. No other way to do reset it?

Terrible customer service!

TurboCard itself is okay except the transaction history could use improvement. But let me tell you about their customer service for this card. It is honestly the worse experience I’ve had in a long time!
I was concerned about a transaction that was said to be returned back to the card. The customer service representative started to argue with me and wouldn’t let me explain my situation.. Needless to say she was being very unprofessional! The rep kept placing me on hold and eventually transferred me to the Spanish line for whatever reason ( I don’t speak Spanish ) and my problem is still not resolved. Smh would not recommend this card to anyone! Next year I’m having my refund sent somewhere where at least I know people actually care about what’s going on with my return

I don’t even need to step into a bank, thanks to this card!

I got my income tax return on it because we had just moved and did not have a bank in that area. I downloaded the mobile app and had a direct deposit placed into my turbo account. I get my paycheck three days earlier than most of the other staff at the hospital do. The only downer is that I can’t pay for my gas at the pump with it, but I have a card that will, so that’s no big deal. Needless to say, I never did find a bank, and I have no plans to do so.

I chose to receive my tax return on this card i hate dealing with banks so i never had a checking account for a while now i do! Now i can easily buy bitcoin and get direct deposit from my employer the only thing i don't get is why would anyone put money in the "vault" if we get nothing in return anyways great app and card calling the number on the back is kinda useless unhelpful people who i can't even understand on the phone still deserves 5 stars tho

Decent app

It’s an okay app to keep track of where your money is going. I didn’t realize there was a transfer limit from your vault to your account and I usually just try to just take out what I need but ended up not being able to access my money when I needed it and now I have to wait a full 24hrs before I’m able to transfer more money out of my vault. It’s frustrating, but other than that it’s still a decent app. I just wish they didn’t have a transfer limit cause that personally is hindering me from accessing money that I need.

Ridiculous

So let me get this straight, you guys give us our check 2 days early every week. Gave us our check a day early before the 4th of July. But when Christmas comes around, which lands exactly on payday in my particular situation and we don’t get our check the day before and I’m guessing we won’t be getting our check tomorrow on Christmas. If anything this is the time to try and please your customers most and yes I said CUSTOMERS because you guys take $4.97 out of our account every month for ‘fees’. Great way to keep us in the holiday spirit!!!

No support what so ever

App works good for what it’s supposed to but my card stop letting me withdraw money from any atm and bank (still won’t) I have spent literally all day trying to reach their customer service line, longest hold time was over 2 hours and then it would just time out and cut the call. I emailed them and it feels like it’s just as useless. Horrible experience trying to access my own money, will never use this service again if it doesn’t get resolved soon.

Tricked into using and no customer service #

First I was tricked into using this method to get my return. It said I was approved to get an advance so I used this method. Then get an email saying sorry you are not approved. If I had known that in advance I would have just had it deposited into my regular bank. Now that I have the card and am logged in. I don’t see a customer service number anywhere. Only one for direct deposit set up. I want to know where I can withdraw my full refund so I can no longer bother with this nonsense card.

So easy

I love TurboCard! My tax returns were sent on the Turbo intuit card and I have been able to easily continue to use the card and account for direct deposit, paying bills and purchasing items! TurboCard is easy to navigate and I love the Touch ID log in when I need to check my balance!

This is an absolute joke of a bank and when I am able I will be getting a different bank account. Not only is the customer service a bunch of idiots who have no idea what they're doing, but They speak the most broken English that you can barely understand them. They don't answer any of the questions that you have and if you get any kind of frustrated they just end the chat. And to top it all off they are never willing to work with you or help you out with any situation that you are having. They just tell you that you have to deal with it and that you'll have to wait . If I could give them a negative score I would and I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

My tax refund was sent on October 27, 2021, also confirmed with a representative. It has not been posted to my account. Turbo representatives don't have a clue. I also heard that GreenDot bank was shutting down could this be the issue? I need my refund where is it? I also read other reviews where people waited for 3weeks for a deposit.

Terrible to non existent customer service. When something, like bill pay, doesn't work right it will just say "there is a problem". no solutions and no way to contact anyone . Most frustrating on line company I have ever dealt with.

I don’t recommend this card to ANYONE. Someone stoled my card and made fraudulent purchases. I filed a dispute and been waiting over 3 weeks and all I’m being told is my dispute is still under review. More than 10 days have passed and not even a provisional credit. This card sucks

I have fraudulent transactions on my account . I called as soon as I noticed the first one, sat on hold for 4 hours 10 minutes before talking to a live person. While im on hold i run to atm and try to take out cash , but another fraudulent transaction goes through and empties my account. Then when they do answer im told that the fraudulent transactions are pending and to call back after they are posted. The worst customer service i have ever experienced.

The cars was great AT FIRST. I used the turbo card for over a year without issues and ran all my bills and direct deposita through it. All of a sudden they closed my account because of "suspected fraudulent activity" they wouldnt provide any further details or allow me to dispute this quote fraudulent activity in any way. I have my tax return set up to go into this account which will now be bounced back to the IRS and I've been told I will never be able to open another account with any greendot subsidiary. They uprooted my entire financial life with no reasonable explanation of what they're suspected fraud was right in time screw up being able to receive my tax return and stimulus when I need it most. Their customer service was terrible when trying to figure out what went wrong.

So I have had this card for years and never had a problem. Every year my return has been successfully loaded onto my card. However, this year my return and amount exceeded my limit. Before I filed my taxes, I would’ve liked to know that my return would be sent via mail after the entire process was complete. So now I have to sit here with hungry kids because of something that should’ve warned me that the amount I was to receive may exceed a limit. So now I sit here waiting. This will be my last return using this card.

Terrible customer service!!! I called these people about a pending transaction that I had on my account the representative was very rude and did not have any knowledge to help me with my situation. When I asked to speak to another representative he denied to transfer me to someone else. But what happened next really showed me that these people don’t really care. I asked to speak to a supervisor because I got tired of getting no where with this person, I was denied and told that there’s no supervisor available, I asked this individual to transfer me to a supervisor 3 times , he refused to transfer me and disconnected the line. They hire overseas people that really don’t care about your situation. You really can’t understand them, how can they deny anyone from speaking to someone else or a supervisor when you’re paying a fee every month and your money is being deposit. Very disappointing. Very poor customer service. Representatives do not have the knowledge to help you. Very long hold time to speak to anyone. Can’t understand these overseas people I’m the phone. Get it together please!! It’s very unfair that paying customers have to go through this with this Turbo card.
