Philo Status

Philo plays for just a few minutes and then just locks up and quits working . is there a software update? Are you having problems? What's going on?

For the last two weeks or so, I have to restart my Apple TV 4K every time we want to watch a saved movie on the Philo App. If I reboot the Apple TV will work fine until the next day and have to do it all over again. No other app we have has this problem (Prime, Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ etc....). Very Annoying. Have re-installed app and made no difference. Apple TV set on automatic updates, so assume running most recent Apple TV OS and as mentioned reinstalled app from Apple app store. Fix?

Mobile app not opening.

App crashes almost daily on two different Samsung TVs. When it's not crashing it's in buffering mode so frequently it's annoying. Not have any of these issues with any other app.

Keeps crashing on 2 different roku’s.. Did clear Roku cache and reset. Made it better for about a month then started crashing after 5 minutes especially on the higher channels. Will likely dump them soon. BTW no problems with other streaming services so is them!

Programs are constantly freezing and stopping and starting. It’s very annoying. If it continues I’m switching to another service. Anything you can do to remedy this?

Apps crashes OFTEN will be canceling its not worth the headache.

Programs keep freezing on us especially the Discovery channel. For 3 weeks on Tuesdays we attempted to watch Homestead Rescue and towards the end if the show, it keeps freezing so we miss the end of it. It freezes on other channels also. We also have Paramount + and we have no freezing issues with it at all.

App keeps crashing, using Fire stick, if it continues I'll have to cancel, which sucks, bc I love the price & most channels

My app stops working during show and i miss the rest of show because i have to restart my phone in order to get it started again. . It’s a track phone

Just signed up with Philo app on Samsung tv. Guide freezes very often, unable to navigate. Have fast internet but it seems the UI is not optimized. If it doesn't get better before trial ends, I will move on to different provider.

Love the service but the app is awful. Watched for 45 minutes on my Samsung S8 Ultra tablet & now I just get a screen that says to contact Philo. Tried all troubleshooting, wiping data & cache after force stopping, no changes. Also, the app on my Samsung Q80 TV isn't so great either. It buffers frequently, even though I have 1gig service up & down. Sometimes all I get are the little spinning dots & nothing will work.

Just stumbled across this page and now realize I am not alone in my issues with the Philo app. I'm getting sick of looking forward to watching a show only to have it start, play a minute or two, and then close out of the app, After three attempts I move onto another app but this has been happening every week for the last three weeks. Philo suggest trouble shooting on their end but on my end, four TVs, Roku, Firesticks, etc., Philo is the only app that continuously has issues. It seemed to be a good deal when I signed up but if this keeps happening even at $25 a month it's not worth it. Get your sh*t together, Philo, and stop blaming the customers for what is obviously your issue!

Philo app on Samsung S7 FE Android tablet crashes when you click on channel guide. Uninstalled and reinstalled, no help. Rebooted several times and installed latest updates. No help.

Up until last Saturday Philo has been great on my android phone and TV. But here lately it freezes my phone up right off the bat. It causes me to have to restart my phone and I'm not able to watch it. Anyone else having issues?

Philip app keeps cutting off randomly!! Restarts and reboot are not working. Error message keeps saying check internet connection but it’s not the internet

I was speaking to Ren a couple of days ago but I had a family problem and this is the first chance I’ve had to get back PHILO is still not working. Ten did his preliminary test and he was giving me instructions to reboot. As I told him I am so dumb when it comes to all this technical stuff and I’m also an amputee in a wheelchair so I can’t physically get around too good. Please please help me I’ve been so happy with PHILO and I really want it back Asap

I’m having the same issue for the past couple months. I upgraded from Roku and now with using Apple TV i can’t watch tv for more than 4 or 5 hours before it crashes. If I use the Roku I can go 24/7 so it’s clearly the Philo app on Apple TV. Anyone else still having that issue?

Philo sign in does not work as tv provider on Lifetime app.It displays that signed in with Philo unlocks padlock but when you play any episode it displays unknown video player error.However if you play any free episode that will play video as normal. Clearly a technical issue .

Are you all having the same issue still? I purchased an Apple TV two weeks ago to move on from Roku. My Roku plays with no issue but my Apple TV won’t play more than 4 hours before it pauses and go to a screen saver. I’ve bypassed my router and went straight into the modem and no different.

My Philo app that I’m watching on my Apple TV keeps crashing randomly. Sometimes I can watch it for a couple hours before it crashes and then other times it crashes multiple times in an hour. I love this app but I pay to much money for an app that has other frustrating issues as mentioned by the other people here, on top of the major frustration of the app continuously crashing on me. I hope they fix it.

I agree 100% with Dawn and Jack. Philo has become a constant source of frustration with shows cutting off before the end, guide not loading properly, jumping channels, etc. I've been a customer since Philo launched and it was a great app until recently. I don't like the idea of switching to another streaming service but I'm getting tired of paying for something that doesn't work. Fix the problems soon Philo.

I seem to be having a lot of the same issues as Jack Foster. Also, seems to cut out at the end of a program. Something has changed and its not for the better. Was working just fine until about a week ago. Please fix this Philo, really don't want to switch.

Screen seems to have changed regarding what comes up when Philo is invoked from ROKU. Also the option has changed that let you pick whether you want to start at the beginning of a program when it is selected from the channel guide. Now the only option is for start at the live portion of the show selected. The Favorite channels selected does not always show all of the channels that have been selected. I have INSP and two more channels selected as favorites, but INSP and the other two do no show up after HGTV. I was happy with the older way things worked. Hope you can get things straightened out. I have really enjoyed PHILO up to point where everthing seems to no work as it should. Also have connectivity issues from time to time.
