I googled it:
Some studies suggest that ultrasonic waves at frequencies of 18–48 kHz can repel mosquitoes, but there is no scientific evidence that high-frequency sounds repel mosquitoes. These waves can stress the mosquito's nervous system, causing their antennae to erect, which can increase the likelihood of them falling and dying. However, ultrasonic waves are ineffective against mosquito larvae, which require a frequency of 85 kHz.
1 hz=1000 kHz
These devices claim to emit high-frequency sounds that are too high for humans to hear but are meant to drive away pests, including mosquitoes, by mimicking bats. However, scientific studies have shown that ultrasonic repellent devices are ineffective against mosquitoes. For example, a 2010 review article examined 10 field studies and concluded that ultrasonic repellent devices "have no effect on preventing mosquito bites". A 2000 study also found no significant difference in landing rate between houses with ultrasound devices and houses with placebos. In fact, one lab test found that an ultrasonic device actually slightly increased mosquito attraction to the wearer.
Also, I compared different hz to other sound frequency apps that I have. This one sounds different than the others.
It's free so not a big deal. But I would be careful using it around your pets. They can hear louder sounds, but they also are more sensitive to loud noises and can get stressed by them, and eventually have hearing loss.

I’m confident I’ll find this useful for testing a sub’s FR below 50 hz, but… every attempt to make a quick frequency change of less than 1000 hz difficult at best. “Help” is no help.
SUGGESTION: make the “up” or “down” sweep rate user adjustable. EG “each mm of motion equal to 1, 10, 100, or 1000 hz.”
The lower the frequency the more difficult, especially in the triple digits. Yes the “up” & “down” buttons are great for 1-5 hz changes, but who want to press those tiny buttons more than 20 times when your desired change is over 100 hz or under 1000 hz.

The controls are terribly sensitive, there should be a guide or graphics letting you know what the differences in frequency do. And u have no options really at all with it. The only instruction is annoying your friends? Come on now. Maybe have the option to play two different frequencies at the same time so you can listen to different frequencies in each ear. Yeah I was disappointed. Still hopeful it will improve though.
