Horrible mobile app

I have recently upgraded yono app and when i try to open there comes a pop up window to update my app again. If i click update in the pop up screen it takes me to iphone app store yono app where there is no option to upgrade because YONOSBI is already upto date and has only “open” option enabled.
Not sure if someone at a higher level in SBI ever sees these poor reviews and takes some steps to correct atleast few.
World is so much connected now and they can look at how other country banking apps are made. So easy to use and constantly upgraded to make the customer happier with their ease to using mobile apps.
SBI mobile/ internet bsnking still decades behind other countries.
Time to hire world class consultants to build a quality app and not for the sake of building one.

Unnecessary sim binding with device, even that doesn’t work

Past 20 days unable to use YONO app. Called 5 times to YONO customer service. Everytime YONO customer service closed the ticket saying update YONO app. Digital team built a great app, but the customer service is bunch of jokers. Who know only to creat ticket and close it without actual resolution.
After multiple escalation within SBI, it’s understood that the phone number migration has the issue within SBI.
SBI digital footprint is becoming unnecessary pain to the customers. When you can’t give proper service why release such products!! I don’t say there are faulty products, it happens! But Atleast the customer service should own it and fix the issue. Rather than mentioning everytime update YONO app. Such a crappy YONO HELPLINE and customer service team

Does not work with eSIM

I tried to register with YONOSBI . It gives a dialog stating “Please insert a SIM or check your network setting before proceeding further. Please close the application”

If I still click Next, it sends the SMS but errors out in about 1 minute. During this time it checks the system for my mobile number. Then, I get an error “SB001 Technical Error, please try later”

I am in the US and Yono Lite works fine for me with my US cell. I am unable to use the full Yono app as it doesnot recognize my eSIM. Please assist. Thanks.

As expected the app is crap

I was reading through other users reviews before deciding to install YONOSBI . Even after seeing negative reviews I still thought to give it a try. I shouldn’t have .. I didn’t receive the OTP to complete the registration even after multiple tries so basically YONOSBI is of no use to me.

SBI really need to decide requirements for their mobile apps thinking of every possible user perspective and then hire someone good developers to develop that mobile app rather than building crappy apps one after another with different names.

Reputed bank with the poorest app

This is such a glitchy app. Shameful to see India number one bank with a poor app such as this. Most of the time it says that we cannot connect, cannot transfer money, cannot access our account etc etc. We are lucky on the moments that it works. Monday morning forget about doing anything in YONOSBI , it’s hopeless.
Transaction failed is more frequent than transaction successful.
Every time this happens I think about switching to a better bank with a more sophisticated app. One of these days I will.

It’s totally disappointing to me

I have only bank account in SBI, I am out of India where run India mobile sim impossible earlier I could use my SBI app out of India in my cellphone..I could pay my bil and expenses to my kids and family from out of India .
Suddenly one day I wake up and I could used App, because SBI binding SIM card with app, means I can’t run app if I don’t have sim
now I have to tell some one in India to use my SIM card and run app in his phone
Stupid thing happen
Sbi can give OTP option in email if want to secure … means if you loose sim you can’t run app..
I can’t see now any solution..
I appreciate to doing innovation every time but to do something new we have to take of its drawbacks
Should give me option please
I install app in my 10 year son’s to use for pay bills and expenses now he could use YONOSBI and he spend money to buy online game in play store and even so many bad things

Don’t recommend this app

YONOSBI actually has plenty of features to use, but almost nothing works in the first attempt. It’s like you have to click and pray that it works (of course it doesn’t work still). Every time you select something you can be pretty sure to be unsure about the result. I have been seeing this message quite a lot “ can’t process now, please try after some time”.

Being a mobile app developer myself I can that the backend services they’re using are inefficient, so is the consumption of those services. Developers need to set this straight asap. I’m actually considering switching the banks itself.

ATM card

Today I lost my ATM card and now I am trying to apply for a new card but the problem is the address which was registered to my bank account it’s not an updated address and this bank do not have an option to deliver the ATM card to the current address so if a person is staying in a far different city so how can the person access the account when he want to be draw the money from ATM card even though the bank has yono cash for card less transaction, online transaction or to retail shopping it is difficult. Even though they is no option to select corresponding address like all the other banks. so I don’t know why the bank has put customers in a such a tragic condition.

World’s most unreliable banking application

I am a loyal SBI customer for years. As an Indian , you depend on SBI for them being the largest public bank. But SBI clearly doesn’t need you- atleast their actions reflect so.

Yono and SBI’s internet banking are one of the most unstable and unreliable banking applications that I have seen my life (having used to other Indian and international banks).

The most common victim is the OTP. It will work when it feels like. As an NRI, I have been in hot water many times when I had to make a payment urgently and the OTP wont come through.

The SBI technical team seems to take as long as they please to fix the issue. The KPI’s like fixing the issue in minutes or hours isn’t applicable here. You are looking at days or weeks to sort out issues.

All said, you need SBI and SBI doesn’t need you! That’s the essence of it!

SIM error on iPhone 12 Pro

Before the update app was working fine. Now it give s the following error Please insert SIM or check network Settings before proceeding further. If I proceed, it gives the following error after it tries to send sms SB001 Technical error. Please try later I use Tmobile with digital SIM . It is really frustrating. Hope your team fixes this issue. I tried Yono lite and it had no issues

I tried multiple times and it gives same error. I am surprised that the lite version of app gives no error. As I mentioned before I don’t have physical sim, my network provider uses iPhone digital sim. I am surprised this issue is taking this long

SBI is the worst bank for online account access

I have had very high hopes for SBI account when I started it. For every issue I had come across for about 8years, I had always been optimistic about it getting resolved and sticking to SBI for my banking needs. I think I have reached a point at which I can no longer bear the pathetic service and interface of SBI online banking. These are the issues that I am facing.

1 . YONOSBI failing to load login screen.
2. Timeouts in certain forms such as adding beneficiary.
3. Random error messages.
4. The need of 2 passwords for the account.
5. App not supporting a password change.
6. Web application having a very confusing UI.
7. Inconsistency in receiving OTP messages.

I don’t think fixing these issues will get me back as their customer, but if SBI is willing to address these issues and many other such issues, it may help someone who don’t have a choice of switching to a better banking service.

Highly discourage the use of this application and banking service if you have a better option available.

Register every time to login?

Do I need to register every time I try to login to YONOSBI with the message sent through my Registered Phone number ? Can I not just login straight away after a one time registration? Seems like an awful lot of steps simply to login to YONOSBI.

Just started an account, I tried to update my phone number, update email address, put in a request for a debit card linked to my account and not a single feature works. Debit card request process asked me to select an address for delivery but there is no option to select an address?

Poorly designed phone app and needless amount of steps just for a simple login. I’m regretting opening an account with this bank now…

Poor service

I was using YONOSBI before and it has good features. However when I changed my mobile & transferred my data from old mobile to new mobile it didn’t work. It said it will send an OTP to the mobile number registered. But I never received the OTP. I tried it several times with no success.

I deleted it on my old phone & reinstalled it on my new phone but still no success. It is such a good app but of no use. I hope the creator will atleast take a look at the negative reviews and update YONOSBI . If u r not serious, as most Indian govt services are (since they only work for salary), just don’t advertise about app on TV etc. Hope u take this serious and update YONOSBI addressing the issues in it.

Really frustrating app

Every time you login it will whether you are new or existing customer. When I tried to login using internet id and pwd it will through an error “ some technical problem could not complete your request and
Contact customer support”. Don’t have too many apps for SBI have one or 2 apps and maintain them or else people will not use SBI, please get compared your self with other bank apps(this doesn’t mean SBI has more customer thn other bank and we should have too many mobile apps). When you don’t maintain quality service it’s waste of having too much quantity. Please have a solution to YONO mobile app or scrap the mobile application. I am trying to login to yono from last 15-30 days and not even a single time I was not able to successfully login.

Still Living in 1990s when the world has gone full digital

Not only this but None of the SBI products are good. They still live in the old era. Anything you want customer care asks to visit branch. Other branch says goto home branch. Even your own phone number or address you cannot change. So stupid…

I went to bank and asked multiple time to check my number and that lady over counter said your number is correct. Still when I am trying to register it’s saying no account found with the selected number in sim. When I showed her she said and common for all SBI employees will say that because they are non-tech people “Server Issue” while their servers are maintained by TCS in multiple locations. They should get trained properly before getting job in a bank.

Don’t waste your time

This is why I don’t keep my money in SBI. Too much cumbersome and too many restriction on website and app, making it really hard to navigate through. I have never had a successful attempt on what I wanted to do with YONOSBI :- transfers, etc. SBI need to hire a world-class team to make a world-class product. For ex, I have a beneficiary added in my account for many years. When I attempt to transfer money to this beneficiary from the mobile app, I get an error saying special characters not allowed in the beneficiary name. This beneficiary was added through website many many years ago. SBI should improve on small things such as this. Also, change the policy of having three different passwords to access my account:- login pwd, profile pwd, and mpin. I will not use SBI until SBI figures it’s mess itself.

Please, update the UX of the app

Hello folks. This is a great bank. Please keep up with at least national Govt. standards. The Indian Gov apps are much better quality and UX is simple, yet elegant. You need to update it.

Many functional things need improvement. Just throw money and hire better Data professionals, UX professionals and get it done.

Once password changed, it’s unclear if you still need to change password. The buttons are pushed down on iPhones with Face ID and hard to click. Enable Face ID support. Asking too many OTPs for same processes.

UPI is so faster based on just phone number and bank link. In your case, SBI has access to both Phone, Bank, and many things. Still you need so many OTPs. Come on! Scale up.

Make a native iOS app either using React Native, Next, or other frameworks. YONOSBI is also HTML hybrid and poorly done.

Doesn’t feel like YONOSBI belongs to a great bank called SBI. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Poor UX / Barely Functional

This apps UI is straight up broken on my iPhone 16. Upper navigation UI elements are hidden under status bar / Dynamic Island. They have layouts with fixed height / width and haven’t adapted to modern flex box based or constraint based views. What devices have you even tested this on? Xcode simulator lets you preview on all device sizes for the iOS ecosystem. This is the easier platform to get this right on, how have you failed to follow basic guidelines?

The apps basic functions kind of work, everything is just very cumbersome and not user friendly at all and some navigation tasks require you to precisely hit one spot of the screen hidden under a system UI element at the top.

Again, most of this shows poor knowledge of app development on the iOS side on the dev teams part and they need to do better or find someone better.

SAFETY AND SECURITY FIRST!

I’m a longtime user of SBI YONO. I would like to think that when functional glitches happen in its functionality, safety features kick in automatically. This is good. Bearing the cost of online frauds via increased profits of the Bank as a whole for the sake of good reviews from customers is a moral hazard that should be avoided by all. “Customer is King” is fine but SBI YONO is perhaps keen safeguarding Royal wealth, sometimes at the cost of Royal wrath.
For the sake of transparency and fair disclosure, I served SBI as AGM, in charge of Vigilance Cases Inquiry. Hope my views are not overly biased.

The best worst app ever !!!

With every upgrade user frustration is guaranteed by including timely bugs in YONOSBI . Being the leading bank in india, it is made sure that no customer should have seamless easiness of using YONOSBI.
Now when i try to register again after changing my phone, YONOSBI says I don’t have an account with the bank !!!

If customer claims that selected SIM is already registered with bank, user needs to visit nearest branch with KYC for updating/ validating the mobile number in bank account.

• If the customer is already having online banking facility of SBI, App will automatically prompt to proceed to register on YONO SBI app with existing user credentials (Online Banking User ID and Password).

• If the existing SBI customer is not having Online banking credentials, App will prompt to proceed to create INB credential using "Account Details" and "ATM Card" based registration process.
