Hi! I just discovered Clips yesterday and had a lot of fun and uploaded it to TikTok and Instagram. However, my portrait mode 16:9 video was cut off at the top and bottom after uploading it to those apps even though they support portrait videos! In fact, TikTok is all videos in portrait mode and it still cut my video into a square! I’m really hoping for a fix to this.

Another thing is I think you need to check out TikTok and Snapchat for all the tons of effects you can use. I love that you can film a video and still add some effects afterwards but we need more options.

I would also like to be able to control the volume of the music I add and be able to shorten it if I want to. If there’s an option to do that already and I missed it, please let me know how to do it! Thank you!

I honestly thought Clips was great at first, but then when I found out there were better editing apps I downloaded like Videoshop, I realized Clips was literal trash compared to other editing apps. The major problem is how we can’t resize the size of the screen. Like, I have a picture the size of my iPhone screen and when it doesn’t fit, I either have to make it zoomed in where I can’t see the whole thing or zoomed out too much where it’s atrocious. When I’m trying to move my picture, it’s like so wiggly and moves so much where when I add the next it’s not in the same spot. It’s honestly annoying. Also, the stickers were annoying because I needed them to pop up and they were fading on and fading back off. There aren’t a lot of music varieties which is irrelevant and half the music (the only good ones) are copyrighted. While trimming videos, I can’t trim the middle of the video I have to do it how long I want it and I can’t cut out parts. If I wanted to do that I would just do that in Clips Photos my iPhone came with. And, the texts are super hideous! You can’t actually choose a font out of a bunch of varieties they have you pick from like 10 they have that are ugly and you can’t change the colors. Honestly, if you’re looking for editing apps, this one isn’t the one you’re gonna want. Get Videoshop or Inshot or something.

I was able to start a vlog on this app and I liked it a lot. It works really well, but to be completely honest with you guys it could be a lot better. So here’s the thing, I was completely loving Clips till I started my blog. Well it didn’t really work. I made the video and
saved it to my photos. But when I went to rewatch the video it was so glitchy I could barely make out the pictures. Another thing is Clips does not let you use your own music. So it says you can, but when you go to pull up the page it won’t work. And I just have a huge bug with this one, I made a video and it was in this app for like a week and when I go to rewatch it it won’t load! I mean I can’t sit and save every video on my device. So that’s my complaints, and if your still reading I might as well tell you positive things about Clips because it’s not terrible but not perfect either. So I did like the flitters for one thing, the flitters are favorite part. They have really cool ones that are amusing. Second I like the posters they make the beginning of the video magical. I love Clips, but it has had issues lately. I went into it to save a video I made earlier in the year. First, I had a hard time downloading the video from the cloud. I took many restarts from Clips to retrieve it, load it up fully, and then to play it. When I saved it to my phone, two pictures ended up as black screens (they showed up in Clips ). When I went back into Clips to try and save it again. The video had to be retrieved again from the cloud. After many restarts the video finally loaded from the cloud into Clips but would not play. I restarted again and then it was gone. I had an error that said “iCloud is off” and indicated that I need to turn on the iCloud Drive and iCloud Photos in settings, however they are on. I tried to report this issue but that also didn’t work. I selected to “report a quality issue” and the website says:You don't have any purchases that match the option you've selected. It’s quite frustrating. I wish Clips would just work. I really enjoyed it and the video I made on it. 😭

As a this app user, for perhaps 2 years or so, I would know that this app is a practical way to edit, send, and combine your videos. It has no ads and doesn’t cost a penny to use. You can take multiple videos uploaded onto your device, and put those onto this app. Then, once you play from the start, the videos will be combined. You may also add effects and themes, for there is an extremely expanded library of things to choose from. If you do not have music to put over the sound into your new video(s), you can download soundtracks right from Clips . You can also trim your this app in case you accidentally made some videos too long. this app has helped me a lot over the years- with YT, quick “Thank you” videos, and just fun videos to send to my family. I highly recommend this app, for there is nothing to complain about. Let’s bring their rating up to 5 stars!

I love Clips and make “movies” on it a lot, but you have to let the music play for the whole video, what if hard rock is playing at a sad moment!?! Also, in the posters column you can’t edit the texts that are Star Wars related, speaking of that it also says a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. But it doesn’t have a Star Wars intro on it. Eh, if it did you still wouldn’t be able to edit it. You also can’t use slow Mo on it, which is terrible. Other than that, it is a great app. (But I hope the people who created Clips look at this review and fix Clips ) see y’all’s later

Okay, so whenever I wanted to record my photos to have some fun for myself, they’re not even showing up! But instead, a black screen shows up instead! I was wondering, “could this be a new update, or could this be a bug and/or glitch?”. So, yeah. That’s one thing you have to fix. And another thing; the Live Titles would look much more sense if you added punctuation, like; “ ! “ ? . ‘ “. It would make so much sense if you added that! And also, one more thing: “this app 1.0”! I know it’s been four years ever since, but I want it back! And if you bring back this app 1.0 for me, then I promise I will speak more clearly into the little microphone thing that’s also known as, “Siri”! So yeah, if you can do all of this for me, I’d be super happy and excited! 😄😄😄😄

So I really am not that review everything type of person, but I just wanna say I love Clips! It’s super fun to make all these cool “movies” and me and my friends have had a blast exploring it! It’s super easy to use (I’m not tech savvy myself so good for me!) and has great effects and choices! If I could change one thing though it would be the music. I’ve always wanted to add music in the background but it plays for the whole video and I only want it in one certain part. Other than that I think this is a great app and I use it on a daily basis so it’s just amazing! I really hope that you guys can fix the music problem but this is a great app and I encourage all people of all ages to test it out! 😉

Nice and easy way to put pictures and videos together and add a variety of animated stickers and some pretty good filters to. Where I have never had success is adding music to the this app from my Apple Music library. The options there but can only find one of my saved playlists and when I select a song it just reverts back to the previous screen, searching for a specific song or artists in my library doesn’t work, at all. Fix or remove the feature! And the common use audio tracks are atrocious they are seriously the worst but it’s all you have to choose from. Regular updates to the stickers available would be nice as well. I know this is a free app offered by Apple, it has potential to be great but just feels like an afterthought.

On Monday, I made a video that I was going to give to my baby cousins when they grew up. I made the video to show them outfits to wear. I started making videos for them about life and I only made 3 so far. I told myself that I was not going to give up on the videos because I only got so far but I needed to complete them. I accidentally duplicated them so I had to delete some. After I deleted them I checked to see if all of the videos were still there. They all were. Including the the video I made on Monday. After I finished editing a video, I saw that the video I made on Monday wasn’t there. It was the first video I made for them. I got really upset about it and decided to make this review so here I am making the review and telling everyone what happened.

I have been using Clips for years now and it had worked very well. However, with the update a few months ago, editing has become a pain and my enthusiasm to use this app has decreased. When I try and zoom in, Clips would cut half the screen off leaving the space black. It is constantly crashing/freezing when I switch from a specific clip to the camera, even when none of my other apps have the same problem and I have plenty of storage. Trimming has always been a little delicate to use but now the movements are not smooth and would often lag back. I much prefer the old version but am not if I can go back. Overall, the design and features of updated this app are amazing, but the performance and execution is lacking.

It is a good for a “free” app, but wish a few more updates were made to make it more useful for creating this app/skits.

1) Allow for multiple music tracks across a single project. Right now once you pick a song it has to either play or be muted for whole project

2) Maintain previous posters and stickers, I noticed some really great effects from before (Star Wars, Holidays, Disney) we’re taken out.

3) Allow more customizable and editing/formatting of Live Text, it tends to jam as much text as possible on screen. No good way to space it out even after editing

4) Allow a shared platform for approved user created posters.

5) be able to better control poster animations, sometimes it isn’t desirable when recording extended with an animated poster that it reanimated every 3-4 seconds.

6) Add more text editing (size, font, color direction etc) options

7) Be great to add additional audio layers per clip in a project

Thanks this can be a truly a great app but has several of the above weaknesses to other video editing apps that could rather easily be fixed.

I posted a review last month. there’s a lot of good stuff from the new update of Clips, but there are a lot of bad things that came out of it. But first a good thing. It has a lot of more text updates that you can put in your video. It also has easier-to-use Technology. Something really bad that came out of it was you can’t film with any more backgrounds! I was just about to film a Star Wars fan series, and I needed an Endor-like scene, I knew just where to go, this app! But you can’t use any more backgrounds anymore! This is a problem. Please add the this app again PLS!!!

So I’ve been using this weekly for a year. Since covid I’ve been able to teach church music to kids with Clips and it’s been great but I updated my phone and naturally this app was updated. I lost some great features and also gained some (like different format for picture 16:9 for ex) That’s fine I guess but, It’s glitching. It’s duplicating this app, throwing the order of my this app out of order,
Then when I delete the duplicate it’s deleting the original. In one case I deleted a duplicate and it deleted a different clip that I had no duplicate for!!! My work this week is becoming frustrating due to this glitch. Not cool. Hope it can get fixed soon. I really do like this apps usability and I depend on it.

I have used Clips since the day I got my phone, I love the filters and have had a lot of fun experimenting with them, but with the recent update I can only get the two comic filters to work, all the others, including the newest filters, won’t work, also I have had some trouble with the stickers too but I mainly use Clips for the filters although you guys have neat stickers, no offense intended, if you guys can plz get a fix found for that problem soon than I would be giving you guys the 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 that you deserve! Thank you for making my photographs look like they came out of a Batman comic book! 💜💜💜

Clips was cool at first, a subsitute to tiktok. It had some funny
fliters, and it was hilarious, ngl. I also managed to capture my dog trying to eat my snowman... I left Clips for a second, come back, and all my this app I previously took are gone! They werent in the buttom, and from what I saw, the videos you take are supposed to be posted. Im not sure if the buttom if some kinda area for you to keep the this app until you decide to post them...I dont wanna shove it online, though.. its my buisness for one and for two i wanna keep the short memories, my iphone storage would blow up if I packed it with short videos. Even if i was right with the entire “keep the this app until your done editing” kinda thing, its still annoying and i would hva eliked to keep that funny vid of my dog 😡

I love Clips and use it all the time to make videos. I love it very much. There’s a few suggestions that I would like to add to this review just to make Clips more fun than it already is!

Firstly, please include the option to film different types of videos. For example, time-lapse, slo-mo, etc.

Second, you should let users the ability to insert their own videos into their project that they can film in different devices like iPhones, iPads, etc.

Finally, I think you should include sound effects that you can use in videos, and let users put on different music at a time and include the option to crop the music so it will only be heard a certain time in the videos.

I hope you consider my suggestions for this wonderful app and get back to me as soon as you can about them. Thank you so much, your app is exceptional and have a great day!

So I love using this app and it has great posters and ox easy to use and add photos to and all that good stuff. One suggestion though. Add in transitions. Thad would make it soooo much easier to enjoy a lot more. I know there are a few posters with transitions, but other than thatThere is nothing. So in your next update please please add transitions so that it just makes the whole thing go smoother but other than that, I do really like Clips and I use it for basically all of my slideshow or other stuff that I need.

Everything is great about this editing app BUT, it needs one thing, in the stickers section it needs an option to add your own picture, you can make it a gif too! Also it needs a feature where you can animate moving pictures like when you put your picture, I want to animate it to move across the screen. I’m sorry but when you insert a video from your camera roll, make it to where it automatically records the whole video.

I mostly use this to record quick videos with captions - five minutes or less. Overall it does a GREAT job. You can edit the text-to-speech that the software captures for yourself captions, but once in a blue moon, this app will just completely miss a sentence or two I said, which then skews the timin for the following captions. Additionally it has crashed on me multiple times and then deleted some of my recordings... or it gets laggy or choppy mid recording which always calls for a reshoot. Overall effective enough (and FREE, YAY) to do what I need to do - but still a little frustrating at times.

So, i COMPLETELY LOVE Clips! I’ve been a user of it for a couple years now, but I have some quick suggestions! So, in every clip you make, your not able to move words aka “Text” while recording. I think it would be pretty cool if that were possible. Another one, I think it would SUPER cool, if there was Touch Magic. It’s pretty much where you have different Effects, that you can use your finger to drag across the screen as you record! It’s kinda like stickers, but instead of animated fire, it’s more realistic! Kinda like dragging and Aura Around a vid. Last one. I REALLLLLLLLLLY think it would be awesome if there were transitions, from clip to clip. For example, I make a clip, and in between the this app, there’s like..A blur, to kinda give a transition from a clip, to another clip! Thanks, that’s all! Hope one of these could happen!

I have the same problem as Barbib 3. The wheel keeps turning and nothing is happening. I have tried everything to try to get it to work, from exiting Clips to powering off my phone. Nothing works. No matter what, that little gray wheel is still turning without getting anywhere. They say this version will fix bugs, and yet no one is fixing this vital flaw that doesn’t allow anyone to get new and updated versions.

Furthermore, Clips Store has a notification and I can’t get rid of it because it won’t update. I don’t know about anyone else, but for me that little red circle is so annoying. Usually I can get rid of it in an instant. But now nothing is working and that infuriates me even more. Please fix this or I will be forced to delete Clips . It’s not going anywhere.

Clips itself is not the best, either. Once you put stickers in, they don’t go out and stay there for the entire clip. Same with the music, and when you are editing a video, you can only edit the end and beginning. Not the middle.

It is fun to make these, but creators, please notice these major flaws and improve them so that Clips can be used as enjoyable and satisfactory as people have in mind, and then impress them even more!

I know I sound like someone who complains about everything, and I don’t mean to be. There are just major flaws. Please recognize and fix these as soon as possible.

I use Clips a lot. I love how I can tap and hold my finger on the play button so it can record as long as I have to. I also like the quality of the graphics, posters, and stickers. Moreover the music options are the best part for me! I especially love how the music fades in and out by itself at the beginning and end of the video.
One of my suggestions is that I would love to have guides for rectangular videos and not only square videos. Sometimes I make my videos rectangular for my Instagram story, and sometimes I didn’t align it properly on this app (it happens a lot actually!) and then my video has a black stripe on one side once uploaded to IG. Graphically it looks really bad, so then I have to use videoshop for this. Also, I would love a bit more control on the filters.
Other than that, I love it!

this app is a great app I like to use to make videos. Sadly, it keeps crashing, and often freezes a lot. I’ve already sacrificed over 5 hours of dedicated work lost due to Clips. Today I encountered a frozen screen saying “Downloading from iCloud” while finishing up a project, even though I had never uploaded the project to iCloud. After waiting a long time, I closed and refreshed Clips multiple times but the screen stuck, and I couldn’t access any of my videos, and had to start over again. I’m very disappointed and I’m no longer planning to use this app anymore. I still can’t believe Apple hasn’t fixed Clips yet after reading similar reviews. Very disappointed right now.

This is a great app, but we need transition effects between this app BADLY! Also some vocal effects would be nice. Also there is no way to loop a background track/music for a certain section, this would be a great addition to this app, and on the same subject, there is no this app folder in the new FILES app, nor is there a way to add one or Clips , seems counterintuitive, I had to save my projects to the camera roll or to the garage band folder in the FILES app :/ I just would like to save my projects into a this app folder in FILES app and transfer from there to my computer. Doesn’t seem like that is a lot to ask for,... The this app app would be amazing with these additional features, Hope to see this happen, Thanks Apple

I love Clips so much! It’s so cool how you can edit things, make videos, and take cool pictures. Me and my friends like to make funny videos, and the editing helps so much! This is probably the best apple app!

Now to the bad parts. I’m not judging Clips or anything there is just a small problem. When I make videos I like how you can add music on there. I like how you can use the many greats songs picked out for you. Sometimes I feel like there is a specific song that would go great with a video that I make. So I go to my music but when I go on there nothing happens. I click on my playlists but no songs show up and I can’t search for anything. If you can please fix this.

Also, I was very excited for the new update with the selfie scenes. But when I updated this app and I went on Clips nothing changed. I see on the pictures that there is another option next to camera but when I go on my app I only have camera, library, and posters.

If you can, please fix this because I updated Clips and nothing happened. Still, Clips is amazing and I totally recommend it! Thank you for this amazing app!

I’m hard of hearing and am pushing more captions for science communication. So I’m grateful there’s an option!

I LOVE the various options for setting subtitles. You must record live to get subtitles (unless it’s a voiceover). You cannot input a previously recorded video and get subtitles as the software doesn’t detect the language. I’ve tried to do voiceover when I forgot the subtitles and it is just too much work to add for anything longer than a few seconds due to timing and accuracy. This would be a HUGE perk to both the deaf community and because many people use their phones on silent. There’s a market for it- look at clipomatic and google presentations. I’d pay like 0.99$ for little optional upgrades to auto detect language.

this app doesn’t do transitions between this app either.

The pictures I used for each of my this app had to be saved to my camera roll to not show up as missing in Clips . I feel like Clips should save the photos as part of the video even if they aren’t in my photos anymore.
It is nice that they provide several background music samples you can use for free, but I couldn’t listen to or use any of them except one random one when I was trying to click on them. It sort of defeats the purpose of them being there and being free if nothing happens when you click on them.
Also, when I was using Clips , it quit randomly on me several times for no reason I can see, just like a lot of other apple apps I used to have. I think this is not only annoying, but makes Clips a little to difficult to use, contradicting the fact that it’s supposed to be convenient.

I had a project I was working on which was pretty big, so I knew it would take a lot of time. So I’m finally finished with that project, which took 7+ hours. I knew the release date to the public for my project was going to be later, so I waited for that month. Once I could post it, all pf my work is gone. Even all the other projects, all of it. How can’t you even keep a few projects for ONE month? Are you seriously that bankrupt? I can’t even imagine what other people were going through getting their work all gone. So thanks for taking off those seven hours of my life.

Sorry for being too pushy, but can’t you tell me how to get it back please?

Now that I was able to get the background to move, it’s great. My main complaint is that you can’t actually take photos/videos full size; it crops it square. It’s hard to get in much of the background unless you use a selfie stick or have longer arms. Horizontal would also be great.

Also, it would be awesome if you could decide whether or not you want a filter. A lot of times I would rather it not change the color of me, etc.

Only other suggestion is if you somehow could add in more of the backgrounds either looped photos/videos or even just still photos. That would make it perfect, but is probably hard to implement.

Clips deleted all my this app, how can I recover them? I did not delete the project, it’s still there and I can see the videos in the thumbnail. However there is a triangle warning symbol in the upper right corner of the box. When I click on the actual project all my this app except the last one have the warning sign. Also, when I click on one of those this app they say they cannot be found on the device. I have searched the video and photo libraries for the originals and looked in deleted items. Is there somewhere else where they could be hiding? I checked my other clip videos and they seems fine and there isn’t a way to back them up. If there a size limit for the projects maybe? Thank you for your help!

U should really download this for trying. It could use more stickers but it is really good. Another thing is make it like camera where u can just press the button then it will go other than having to hold it. Also it could use a timer so you can get ready and a timer so like if u put it in for a minute the video will only be a minute. But it is really good really. Also it only has the free music and the ones u had paid for so maybe u can make it to use your whole library instead of the only music u paid for. It is good I have to admit. I recommend this. I recommend downloading it and I recommend using it. It is totally free. Download it. Thank u for Clips and your time.

It’s so good, you can add posters and change the words sometimes, add labels and emojis, just plain record, and add really cool filters. I think this is a great video making app. So many great features! And, if you want to, you can add subtitles to the screen to match what you say. I love the soundtracks Clips has, and the fact that you can use your own music. I actually learned about some of the songs I like from the soundtracks on Clips. The one thing I wish is that you could have the scenes feature on all phones. I think you used to be able to have it on the iPhone 8 but not anymore. Anyway, really good app in general.

Okay I know Clips is made by apple, and apple is great and all, but Clips hasn’t been that great lately. So here are the pros, I love this app because I can edit videos pictures and more, but there are many problems with this excellent app. First of all it takes a while to load a project... I don’t know if it’s just me but it takes tons of time for a nice project to load up. Also Clips takes up way to much space on my iPhone like to download songs, projects, and etc. But I love the creators of Clips and all but I am very disappointed as well. It is crazy to think that one of the big companies have problems with their app.

I've been trying to update Clips since April 9, 2019 and the little wheel 🎡 keeps spinning around & around non-stop ever since I pressed the Update icon!!! Surely someone that works on Clips has to see the glitch or the other 20 people ahead of me that gave Clips a crappy 1 star ⭐️ review!! Clearly someone is not doing their job, ignoring the glitch or simply doesn't care to check and see what the problem is!! It almost makes me want to COMPLETELY delete Clips bc if you can't fix this problem or don't care to respond to the bad reviews, why would I think your App is any better??!! It's sad that someone can create an App with great functions but you can't fix something simple like the Update icon that keeps spinning around for almost a month!! Come on people get your crapola together & get this fixed!!! CHOP, CHOP!!!
