Buy and sell - Marketplace Reviews

I usually consider myself smarter than this… But somehow I ended up downloading this thinking it was some new app from Facebook to use their Marketplace feature. After going back to Buyandsell Store and looking at who the developer of Buyandsell is I realized it has NOTHING TO DO WITH FACEBOOK AT ALL. Also, as many other one star reviews have noted, it is impossible to sign up for Buyandsell to work. I used three separate emails and never once got a confirmation email to allow me to create an account to login. I also keep getting the same FAKE MESSAGES over and over from people asking me to respond or supposedly sending me a photo of something. I have come to realize these messages are just fake, trying to get me to “sign up”....But when you go and open Buyandsell the first screen you see every single time is trying to get you to pay money for a subscription. After reading all the other negative reviews it’s now obvious all they want is to get your money for an app that doesn’t actually work. BEWARE!!

I actually used my Facebook login several times to try to log into Buyandsell and now I pray they have not gotten my Facebook login to use for other scamming reasons.

I was never sent a confirmation email for my account. Since I had no email to confirm my account, they decided to shut it down. This is sort of a catch 22 because I can’t confirm an account with an email that doesn’t exist. There’s no way to contact any help through Buyandsell so I’m essentially locked out with no way of getting back in. There’s no apparent option to have the email resent either. I’m getting messages from people on Buyandsell despite being logged out too. I can’t respond to anyone because of this. I’m just glad I didn’t buy or sell anything before this happened.

Also, they’re so aggressive about getting you to pay for their subscription service. Literally every time I open Buyandsell , and even sometimes when I’m using it (I don’t know if this stops after the log in page since I can’t get past it). I hate giving bad reviews, but Buyandsell is a mess.

If anyone on the development team sees this, I’d be willing to fix my review if you could get me back into my account.

Man, Buyandsell is just trying to trick you at every turn. Starting with the fake reviews (read these user names), fake notifications telling you urgently that someone wants to buy your stuff (even when you don’t have anything for sale), and an aggressive freemium model that tries to trick you into accidentally subscribing to $3/week (yeah, A WEEK). Let’s pretend that Buyandsell even was legit, which is isn’t, it would be useless. I couldn’t find anything that I was looking for, and when looking at listings for un-needed stuff, it was clearly full of scams. As an app developer myself, I strongly encourage everyone to go to the landing page (not the reviews page) and vote “useful” on the top genuine reviews calling out this scam, then vote “not useful” to the fake reviews promoting it. It’s important that this is done on the front page so eventually the fake reviews are replaced with genuine ones. It goes a long way towards preventing new users from getting trapped.

I downloaded Buyandsell and then it promoted their paid membership to me, whatever, I skipped it. I never looked up a single item or posted a single item. I didn’t like the interface and furthermore there was a user agreement I had to agree to and the text either wasn’t there or it was white on a white background. I have been getting the most disturbing motivations from Buyandsell constantly. CONSTANTLY. Five times a day I’ll get notifications as if from people saying “hallo??!! Are you still Interested?” “Can we meet tonight???????” “What size is it????” and it’ll say from Jimm or Jack or Susie or some other generic name. My personal favorite notification is “encrypted message” lol. Buyandsell will literally harass you and also paid members get their listings bumped ahead of regular users so it just seems like a bad app all around. I have 14 notifications from the last few days. Avoid app at all costs.

This is probably the worst online shopping app I’ve ever used. ITS REALLY BAD. Buyandsell and description makes you think that this is a very good shopping app, and that it is really good. At first when I logged in, or signed up, it said that it worked and that I had an account. I open Buyandsell back up and click on “profile” and it makes me sign in AGAIN. I had to log in 4 times!! And every time I opened Buyandsell up pops this thing that is trying to make me buy like an $80 subscription for a yearly subscription, and all these different subscriptions, and so I just clicked on “continue free” or whatever it says. And lastly, every item on the “discover” page, was in euros! I couldn’t buy one thing because it was all in euros! I found five things that were in USD and they were these junky beaten up items that said they had never been used. I do not recommend Buyandsell. BEWARE!!!!!

Nothing but a money pit without letting you use it to see if it’s what you want. I may be a lil behind time with the way these apps are set up but I know it’s not as far as this thirsty app is trying to take me. Immediately after downloading and one click to open it all I seen was some outrageous dollar amount to pay for a year etc! 😡 Clicked out of that and was presented with the terms and condition to agree to or not of course I agreed thinking maybe I was finally gonna get to explore Buyandsell . WRONG!! Stupid junk took me right back to the screen to pay offering a free three day trial!! Really?! Without even letting me explore without being harassed about buying something?! Keep your three day junk I lost interest and after this review I don’t care to know what it’s about anymore and trashed you will be! Harassing people to buy before they even try speak volumes about staying away!

I added Buyandsell because it would be easier to shop on marketplace without using Facebook. Well, I receive notifications from Buyandsell from a loop of fake people invented by Buyandsell with messages like “Hallo?! Are you interested in this phone?” and “Hello?! Are you okay??” And “is this item still available?” I was really concerned at first that I had left people hanging who I contacted or that they were seeing old ads I had posted. I kept looking for their messages to get back to them but couldn’t find them. Then I noticed that the messages notifications I received were looping and I was getting the same exact ones from the same exact “people.” This is intentional on the part of the creators of Buyandsell to get me to engage more with Buyandsell by spiking my stress level and invasively and deceitfully grabbing my attention. NOT OKAY.

We’re two average men, one retired and one poised to retire - our hobbies are boats and everything that surrounds them. We are financially limited as to how much we can allocate to our hobby however- so access to Marketplace and so people who have anything nautical that they don’t use anymore (old boats, boat trailers, boat engines or nautical stuff) is wonderful for chaps who are finished with their working lives but still want to be busy with their hobbies.
Thank you for giving us access to the outside world and allowing us to have a hobby that we normally could no longer afford.

I have found Buyandsell really useful and have sold a few items to a few people.
However, I nearly got phished recently. The would be purchaser wanted to pay me via PayPal, which would have been acceptable because they didn't live locally.
The plan that came through via a message was that the purchaser was to pay his $50 into my PayPal account, and include $200 for the carrier. I was then told to look for a PayPal email confirming that they had $250 ready to transfer to me once I had transferred $200 to the carrier.
There was a fake PayPal message, it looked authentic, but I had already, 'Smelled a rat' and sent the phish email to PayPal.
So, be aware!

I am trying to login to my paid account and no matter what I try as suggested... the account says I'm locked out by the administrator and has always been VERY difficult to use. One day I can list a new item for sale and the next I can not login or locate the approved post anywhere. I am willing to work with you to use Buyandsell I have been paying for. If I had been locked out with the same email and password as I paid with, why sell me another subscription? Please help me find out what my problem is ( possible user error) if so please help me with my ignorance. I do not want to have this posted I just need help and I have no other way to contact you, I apologize for Buyandsell worked great but now it is not

Love Buyandsell and I have been on here for over a year now. So easy to use as well. My only complaint is having to wait almost 3 days for someone to rate you. It’s becoming more common for people not to leave a rating and then I have to wait 3 days for my funds, plus a couple days for it to transfer to my account. Wish there was a way to speed up the process. I even message people I’ve sold to to see if they received their package, but half of the time they don’t respond. Fix this and it would be a 5 Star app for sure!

Buyandsell is a total scam!! I signed up for the free trial, but it made it seem like I still had to sign up for the subscription as I couldn’t use the messages to inquiry or buy things. I couldn’t post things either as the same thing popped up saying I had to sign in and subscribe which I already did.
What made me really figure out it was a SCAM, were the constant message notifications I was getting from Buyandsell ? (I presume the scammer running Buyandsell ) at least 1-2 a day, I got messages popping up like
“Anyday now! - “You wasting my time?” - “Hurry up and buy something.”
Etc etc. made me think this scammer just wants me to enter some kind of card info physically on Buyandsell so he can keep that data. Do urself a massive favor and do NOT download Buyandsell. Disgusting treatment.

Moved to here from EBay who are the biggest scammers on the planet, forcing payment by PayPal, ripping you off even more with their commissions. I sell things on here. People come to my property, pick up the items and pay cash. I record the vehicle numbers. Cash is still king as there is no room for scamming..
eBay actually own Marketplace but as yet they haven’t spoiled it altogether. KEEP CASH ALIVE. ONLY TAKE CASH. Once cash has gone, the value of your earnings will go down and down and down and there will be nothing you can do about it.

I like the Marketplace app and have found many good deals on the site but unfortunately the scammers are a nightmare. I had someone ask about a current add I have on the site and they said they had paid for my item but PayPal were holding the payment until I paid the currier fees of $350. Once confirmation was given to them they would release my money. This is how ridiculous these pathetic scammers are to believe someone would fall for such a childish scam. Never the less Buyandsell is very easy to use. ??

Major Flaw — Buyandsell requires that the condition of the item be entered using a drop-down list. I have tried every option available (brand new, used, excellent) with the same result: Buyandsell closes, and reopening it erases all previously entered information. So start from scratch. Same result.

Minor flaw — Buyandsell will not allow me to change the location of the item. It always defaults to the GPS location. So I can’t post an item’s location accurately unless I’m physically at the same location. My elderly dad has moved and I’m trying to give away his furniture and other stuff but have to go to his hose to do the post? How inconvenient!

I love using Marketplace but unfortunately I’m going to stop using it if they don’t do something about the ads popping up you can’t look at anything now without a stupid add popping up I don’t mind them being at the bottom of the screen and if something catches my eye that I’m interested in I’ll click on it I don’t need them to pop up every five seconds it’s so annoying and I don’t know why anyone thought it would be a good idea it really spoils Buyandsell

I am using Marketplace since 2012 , and i have seen many faces of Marketplace improving . I feel there still so much improve Marketplace. But it is really improved allot . Apps is easy to use. Only i feel Marketplace adds takes lots of memory In mobile and special in laptop. Some time if i open 3 or 4 Marketplace tab in one go then i feel my laptop going to be burst !! And its slow down my laptop allot .
But off course i like Marketplace so don’t bother much .

Buyandsell is great and it works perfectly but people there are doggy. I don’t think it’s an app to make money out of selling stuff as people don’t even offer half of what you reasonably ask for the item. I got messages offering money for dirty underwear, asking to meet, and lots of really low offers.
It’d be nice if Marketplace tried to get nicer people to sign up. I’m about to give away some really nice stuff because nobody appreciate them. Not a bad result I guess! Someone nice will enjoy nice stuff ! 😃

First, it will literally prevent you from using Buyandsell unless you buy a subscription (I’m trying to sell to make money not spend more) even though Buyandsell is allegedly “free.” On top of that, it’ll send you 5+ fake messages from fake people a day. I’ve never even browsed Buyandsell let alone posted anything, but I get all these random messages from fake people saying “PLEASE RESPOND THIS TIME” “I’m interested!!! Where should I meet you?!” “Hello???? When can I pick this up??” Or the best one “encrypted message” but when I go to check it says my message inbox is empty. You’re not going to enjoy Buyandsell at all. You can’t even use it if you don’t pay a monthly subscription. What a joke

What an amazing app i sold 3 items on ebay they charges me £123 for one month then fee on top that total of £60 so i had to pay £183 just to sell 3 items so i lost lot of money where on sphock i sold more then 20 items no hassle no fee i been really happy with sphock if only u could do bidding to an extent as i get like 20 people wanting it all same price same location who do i give it to so bidding would help so if one buyer sell if ten buyers then switch it to bidding who ever wins the bid gets it

I just downloaded Buyandsell, I was trying to sell things for my move but I can’t even set up my account. I’m trying to make an account with my google email since I don’t have fb but every time I click on my email it goes through but it never sets up my account and it will keep asking me to set up an account to use Buyandsell . So decided to just create a log in but nope that won’t work either so I try contacting app support that crashes as well. Now it finally let me set up my google account but I can’t create a post because the whole app freezes my phone then crashes and every time I open or try to do something on Buyandsell the stupid premium add shows every second I’m on it no matter how many times I close it. Buyandsell is laggy and full of bugs, I hope someone sees this and fixes the issues.

Everyone should File a Federal trade commission complaint !
So I noticed this company try’s to lure you in by sending you notifications that says you have 1 unread message. You click the notification it sends you to only redirect you to their subscriptions page . You go and sign up and there is no message to be read . This is considered FRAUD .

ALSO, they try to lure you in by designing their logo to look a lot like Facebooks Marketplace to lure you in. Just so you guys know Facebook put back there market place in there actual mobile app . In no way is this company affiliated by Facebook. They just make it look like it so you guys can download Buyandsell and lures to subscribe to there scam subscriptions . I’d love to hear the response from this developer😂

Flee from Buyandsell. There is no recourse if you get scammed. With EBay, there is great customer service and they support buyers who get ripped off. My son just spent $150 on an item—as soon as his purchase was complete, the seller blocked him and did not respond to texts or calls. Of course the item was never sent. I see this same seller has the same item still up for sale in order to scam others. There is no way for me to even report her to Marketplace. My 15 year old is now out $150 (which took him months and months to earn) and the seller is continuing to rip people off. I also just saw several posts of people literally selling large bags of marijuana on this site. If I could give it zero stars I would!

After putting one item on here I thought others had shown some interest because they send notifications saying that I’ve receive a message. I then open Buyandsell to find nothing.
Buyandsell crashes every time I try to click on the profile tab, which developers commented that they were fixing Oct 14 then didn’t fix in the last update. Every update Buyandsell put out has the same unspecific update message. Buyandsell support page is down (of course) and there is no means of contacting the company for a refund. I had to cancel my card in order to get them to stop charging me. Buyandsell doesn’t function properly and is 100% a scam.

I tried Buyandsell as an alternative to Facebook bc is sounds and looks like Buyandsell for JUST the marketplace side of Facebook. It’s not. It shows NO listings in my area when I know there were tons on FB. You can’t change km to miles for your distance, there is no way to set your distance permanently (i had to move it off 0 km every time I attempted to search), and when I tried to hit app support, I got an error. Oh, and I get an ad to pay $5/mo for a premium account EVERY TIME I get back to the home page. No, no, no. Buyandsell is lacking greatly. I will be deleting.

My daughter told me about Buyandsell, and I have been using it for a few years now. I have gotten amazing deals on Buyandsell, and I will never stop using it. I am so thankful to be able to buy things I may otherwise not be able to afford in a retail setting.

Keep getting notifications that I have a message but when I go to Buyandsell there is no message just a pop up that appears every two seconds trying to get you to subscribe. Normally I wouldn’t write a review even if I were having this problem but when you go to the “help” section of Buyandsell there are 4 options—“geruess” (is that even a word?), “all is well,” “content,” and “pages.” BUT if you click on them, it just leads to incoherent letters. Geruess leads to “aasasas,” all is well leads to “fsdfdsdfsfdsf” and so on. BULL.

Fun and easy way to find things you want for cheap and to make a bit of money when disposing of things you no longer need. Some people forget it is an awesome app and ask ridiculous prices, but over all excellent!

First problem I had was nothing would load. It acted like I wasn’t connected to the internet. After deleting and redownloading SEVERAL times, that problem was solved. The most annoying problem is that it constantly tells you that you have messages when you DO NOT. And the most recent issue is it crashes every time I try to click on the profile tab. I’m not sure what the issue is. But I’m extremely disappointed in Buyandsell overall.

Occasionally you have to check it to make sure you didn't miss a message from seller as it doesn't always accurately notify. I use it regularly and can't complain!

I thought this was going to be good. I don’t like The fact that my address shows with all of my for sale items. I deleted all my items with hopes that I can also delete my account, I have not been able to find out how to deactivate my account as I do not have a Facebook page myself. I tried to click on help and this was no help at all. I tried help with in the iTunes Store app download location and this also was no help. Buyandsell Is a waste of time.

Facebook has really gone downhill, especially in how it forces you to download extra apps if you want to continue using their services. First messenger, now marketplace. Gave it the benefit of the doubt and downloaded it. Put my city in the search and nothing came up. Put a nearby city in the search and nothing came up. Put in my entire state and nothing came up. Typed in three of the states surrounding me and only found a jacket. It seems like the only states this thing caters to is CA, NY, & NJ. Buyandsell is sad trash.

Excellent app and your able to find just about anything on here and for very affordable prices. Not only have i sold things on here, i have met great people and created friendships.

Buyandsell is a great easy and fast way to sell those items that just don't fit in anymore but are still in good condition to pick up a bit of extra money rather then throwing out.

I have been buying and selling on Buyandsell for about 5 months now and it is a great place to find items for low cost or even free! I have met many wonderful people on here and we look out for eachother.
