Terrible new update

I loved Setgraph in the past, enough to buy a membership after just days of using it. However the newest update has removed or ruined many of the features that made Setgraph easy to use. Setgraph used to calculate an estimated 1RM for EVERY set you did and now they must be manually entered. Additionally, under the 1RM menu it used to provide estimates for rep maxes based on your 1RM. That has been removed for no apparent reason. It also used to be easy to sort sets by weight and reps with a simple slider, after the update they must be manually entered in a different menu. The graphs used to follow a strong line graph with clear points of data for each set. Now the developers have opted for “smooth” transitions between sets which make it harder to follow trends and observe the data. They have clearly chosen aesthetics over practicality.

Unable to log back into pro account

I really like Setgraph. It’s super helpful for tracking my workouts. However, my phone recently died and deleted all my app info. When I redownloaded Setgraph, there is no option to login, it automatically just leads you to make a new account even if you put in the email you used to first sign up. Now I have no idea how to access my account, and I don’t want to pay for another subscription cause I don’t even know how to cancel my first one And I refuse to pay the fee again when I was only two months into using Setgraph with a pro membership. There is absolutely no app support I can find. Until this gets fixed, be cautious about possibly losing the ability to log back into your account.

Randomly deleted my entire workout history

I really liked Setgraph. I’ve been a premium subscriber for nearly a year and have been logging my workouts for that long. Today, for no identifiable reason, my entire workout history is nowhere to be found. All my saved workouts and exercises are gone, and I’m getting a random “missing or insufficient permissions” error message. I’m hoping my email to support is answered soon and my workouts are restored- otherwise using Setgraph is useless. The whole point is to track data and progress over time…

Not fancy, just very, very useful

Setgraph is great; very straightforward. It took me a few minutes to learn the difference between “exercise lists” and “exercises”, and how to add my own exercises if I couldn’t find them in their (expansive) list; likely because I’m misspelling something. I love how you can set a timer between sets so I don’t get lost “doom scrolling” on my phone.

If it’s lacking one thing, it’s the ability to record time to cardio based sets; for example if you wanted to record a time or distance on a rowing machine or assault bike; I’ve been using the comment section, but it’d be nice to chart it.

Almost Perfect

I’m loving everything about Setgraph. There are just 2 things that would make it 5 stars:
1) there need to be a little bit more introduction to how to use Setgraph . Setgraph is fairly simple to use, once you get the hang of it. There were a couple “tips” at the beginning, but I think they could do better with a short intro video or something.
2) I wish you could view a full days workout at once. Like in a calendar format. They have folders, and I guess you could make a folder for each day you workout, but that seems excessive. I like to see the total volume lifted and it’s a bit tedious to go to each individual exercise, find the day you want, hit the analytics tab & then hit the daily view. A daily calendar view, with all the exercises on that day, or the total volume for that day would be great.
Overall, great app and does almost everything I want/need!

Overall good

Setgraph is great to see your progress, however it lacks the ability to do two things
1. You can record how much time you are taking up in your workout session but you are not able to look back at it another day. If I wanted to see how much time it took me on Monday to complete my workout, I couldn’t. One you hit finished that time stamp is well gone
2. Super sets do not have the statistics that tell you how you improved, neither do they keep track of your weight, reps and sets.

Good app overall just those two things are really annoying

THIS APP DOES THE JOB WELL

I only wish it incorporated a timer, both for recording sets and just in general. Some of my movements are done for time and I just use the reps as a measurement of seconds instead. I also wish the add a set button was bigger and not in the bottom right corner. Every single lift I inadvertently edit a previous set when Im panting for air and trying to operate Setgraph single-handedly. Adding an exercise is easy enuff, but I would like it if it offered a blank one so I wouldnt have to rename each one I add. I also would like it if I had more control over the notifications. It's only a small ding. It would be nice if it gave me a second noise if I dont do anything on Setgraph , the way my text messages (iphone) do to remind me to check them. Or at least a longer one, or multiple dings. Perhaps user defined dings would be ideal. These are small criticisms, and should in no way dissuade you from trying Setgraph . It does a great job keeping track of ur lifts so you dont forget what weights or sets etc you left off at. The folder system is very handy once you figure it out, and it is intuitive. Just wanted to mention these in the hopes the developer sees it.

Wonderful app

I love how many exercises are available, reasonable pricing, the data graphs, and overall simple usability.
I would suggest to please develop on the session time workout. It’s very easy for me to simply forget that I turned it on and when I come back to Setgraph I will have four thousand hours recorded. It would also be helpful if the timing session could be recorded so we can see the average time spent on the workout.

Thank you for this wonderful app.

Set timer history

No major complaints but it would be nice if the set timer had history based on what you set it on for the latest history of each individual exercise. For example if I take 3 minutes rest between squats but then change the timer for leg extensions, currently it switches the timer for all exercises to whatever the latest exercise was instead of what you set it for on the last time you did that exercise

I love it but…

Its a great app that really lets me track my progress. You do have to pay premium price for all the good features which is 30$/a year. So its really cheap. The one thing I don’t like is that I keep getting notifications to sync Setgraph with my Health app, and my Apple Watch (both of which I don’t use). I would like for it to not repetitive ask me of it as its really annoying. Other than that, I love Setgraph and its one of the best investments you’ll do to hit your gym goals.

So far so good

I’ve been using this app for about 4 weeks. So far I really enjoy the way it keeps tracks of my lifting workouts. The social sharing features are nice, I wish there was more options for the types of information I could share (like an entire specific exercise for the day, or creating an image with the pie charts of the overall work out plus customizable text relating to the specific set/reps that could overlay the image). Overall it’s better than a pad of paper and priced right for a year-Long subscription.

Time

I love it! paid for the full thing instead of monthly. used to use a log your workout journal but this is so much better. the only thing i don’t like is that the workout timer isn’t reflected at the end with your workout summary. i don’t only wanna know my sets and reps, i wanna know how much time i spent also. the timer is great just wanna see it added in more like this than having to remember how long that workout was. i would also like to see cardio added into that workout summary! all in all tho, i love Setgraph. worth it!!!

Takes workouts to the next level

Setgraph is amazing! I absolutely love being able to track my progress, makes progressive overload so much easier, you don’t have to try and remember your weight from your last session. 2 features that I think would make Setgraph perfect would be a drop set option and maybe a widget or notification badge that shows your rest times so you can view it from the home screen or Lock Screen of your phone

Amazing App!! (But…)

I’ll start this off by saying I’m not sponsored by/affiliated with anyone within this company. Found this when looking up workout tracking apps. I have been a long-time fan of recording my workout data within the iOS notes app using tables. It was an archaic way of tracking but I didn’t have any other options.

Now that I use this app, I love that I can make workout groups, gathering each day’s exercises into a simple tab that I can select depending on the day. Searching for and adding exercises is easy enough, and the Custom workout feature is a nice touch.

Now, in terms of what can be improved, I have one simple suggestion.

Instead of logging an individual set at the end of the set in question, make it so that you log it at the beginning. My thought process is that you can set the number of reps and the weight, and then hit “Log”. A timer starts, which tracks how long you spend on that given set, which is another piece of data that I think would be great to track. Once you’re done with the set, hit “Finish”, and Setgraph starts the “Rest” timer, only for the cycle to repeat at the end.

Simple suggestion that would make Setgraph even better than it already is. Maybe something to spruce up the UI could be nice too :) Otherwise I love Setgraph and it is well deserving of its 5 star rating.

Amazing app, helps track my progression and more!

this app is an amazing app. It’s so nice to be able to easily see my progression in my lifts over the past few weeks and months. The barbell assist for how many plates I need to load up is also really helpful. Creating different workouts is easy and intuitive. It also tracks how long since the last time you’ve done a lift with the weight, sets, and reps. It’s worth getting the premium too!

I’ve also contacted Setgraph developers with various questions, and they’ve always responded quickly and with good info!

11/10! 💯 recommended!

Mod suggestion

I’m giving this 5 stars but would suggest a few mods:
1. Include the ability to add exercises from the primary list while designing a superset. It’s a little tedious to go back and forth if an exercise is t already in “My Exercises”
2. Allow ability to edit an exercise in or out of a superset once it’s been programmed. Currently you have to build a whole new superset as no exists can be made in ones already put together
3. Include a search window in superset drop down. Currently have to remember exact name as it’s only in alphabetical order
Thanks!

My personal Opinion

I don’t usually write reviews but Setgraph is very unique to me. To start of you get a free trial which I’ve been using for two sessions so far and it is amazing. You get to build your own workout plans with many options to choose from and if you don’t see a desired workout you can create and implement your own. So to end it off Setgraph is very well put together and easy to use for any person. I don’t know the benefits of a membership and I never will because I don’t often buy them because I’ll forget.

The first and only functional version I’ve seen

Setgraph does exactly what I need it to in a simple way. It’s incredible how bad most of the other apps out there are it took me ages to find this but I won’t be switching.

One suggestion that would be super helpful to me - add an option to view todays exercise vs your average instead of just vs your previous. Not every day can be your best, and if you have a weak lift one day it makes it look like you’re blowing your PR out the water but in reality you’re just back where you were before you had a bad day. I’d love to be able to toggle between beating previous day and beating your average.

Fantastic

I am a big fan of Setgraph. It isn’t overly complicated and lays out a solid format for progressive overload session to session. This frees up my time in and out of the gym and enables my programs to work efficiently.

I would like to see something akin to a RIR or RPE selection on each performed exercise. It would also be helpful to see notes from last session pop up - for example, if I open one of the folders and begin a session, the notes I typed in on the exercises would pop up and inform this training session. “This set felt a little off, slowed down the eccentric portion to feel more MMC and it helped “ knowing little form tweaks or things to focus on when walking into a session could be helpful.

Never going back

Ok Setgraph is awesome. I used to track in my notes app and it was very difficult. It’s well thought out and very very easy to use. My main improvement would be changing the progression graph. It’s essentially just a floating wavy line and it doesn’t bring much meaning. I’d love to see percentages of how much I’m improving over time (just as it does between the previous workout. Data is beautiful and visualizing it is very motivating!
