Great but could be better
Love WindyMaps and a contender for the top open maps app. Please remove or reduce load time of opening splash screen. Also for whatever reason the navigation by car duration is significantly underestimated. Also needs a more modern app icon. Also why the 1990s nav voice? Then 5 stars!!

Great app. Great design. Great functionality. Silly title.
I’m very critical of software design and I am having trouble finding fault with Windy…except the title. In English this is confusing. Perhaps rename to something more appropriate for its function. Got nothing to do with the wind.

The ultimate outdoor map app
This is the best overall tool for the job. Pro tip: hold two points on the screen to measure distance. Suggestion: at national parks have option to overlap official map on top (like Gaia)

It does not have a setting to change to miles from metric Km. Still good but better if miles could be used for U.K. and USA Use

Great Resource
Awesome offline map. Very useful in rural areas where I work. Reason for only three stars is the Maine/New Brunswick international boundary line is very wrong in some areas. If I were to use this map in the wrong area, there would be potentially serious consequences.

Looks nice but has some glitches
I like the look of the maps and the interface. But even though I’m in US and set things to imperial measures, it’s all still metric. IE I’m seeing meters instead of ft. Not sure if that’s a bug or what.

Load times
I’m using WindyMaps in Sydney and map load times are pretty slow over 4G or Wifi.
I really like the features of the map and believe you are on to a great product

Not much going on here.
I’m just not understanding what the difference is between this & google maps. I thought it would have overlaid the rain clouds/wind arrows but it seems not really worth having on my phone. 🤷🏼

Works eve in the airplane
A great map system, we use it a lot. It worked eve following the flight path at 34000 ft. 😀

Great app
WindyMaps has a lot of potential.
Pros:
Truly offline navigation
Able to disable auto zoom
Free
Cons:
No 3D view
Defaults to North up when not following a route
Suggests only one route whereas most apps, even offline, suggest multiple
Ability to customize your experience is almost nonexistant

Pump up the volume
This is a great app and cannot fault it, but for one thing - the volume.
When I use it for directions the volume is much too low, even though my phone’s volume is on maximum.
It would be nice if the developers could do something with raising the volume

When I try to download a map, I get a 'Something went wrong' message. I have tried uninstalling and then re-installing, bu no change.
