We started out with this big idea that we want to help people, we want to add our small contribution to making the world just a little bit better.

That being said, though, all our users have iPhones... so, that might not be the best logic.

We're not gonna be the #1 app in the store, we're not gonna be the best app out there, just because we don't have the resources to do so.

And for that, this app absolutely needed to be completely free.

Regardless, it's free just because it's the right thing to do.

Enjoyable and Relaxing

Usually with apps like this you’re bombarded with overly joyful questions or quotes that really make me want to just delete Perspectiveamindfuljournal . But Perspectiveamindfuljournal is very subtle in a calming and enjoyable feel. You have your mood, which isn’t 50 different choices making me question what I was feeling the whole week before that, and you have the calendar view that you can add an entry to everyday with whatever you want, add a pic and even has a wild card question button that I ended up tapping 4 times in the same day due to the simplicity of the questions. They didn’t make me over think things, like most apps do. And they didn’t require me to brainstorm a whole response for one simple entry. Of course you have your little personalizations you can adjust to your liking, as well as adding your interests and viewing your insights. I’m not exactly sure what the discover section was for, I assumed it was for messages from the developers, which is a normal feature for most apps. When I get the money to donate I definitely will! This is a genuine app that I plan to keep!

I only rated 4 because I’m not going to use it

But it’s a solid app, and I REALLY respect what you’re trying to do. The problem is, I’ve been using Journey on and off for 3 years. If I would have found this before I remembered Journey last month I may have used it. But once I got back into using Journey, it has so many of my memories in it. Also, I love the features of perspective. I like the text feed and the cards and the week reflection, the insights if you change an old entry, all of it. But I’d be losing so much more if I switched. I don’t mind losing text formatting or even switching from the daily journal coach to cards. I also LOVE that your app is truly free (but I just bought the lifetime premium for Journey last month :( ). But I’d be losing location tracking, 2 more moods with charts, tags (almost like interests but I can tag stuff I don’t like too, I wish Journey had something like the interests though). More customization of Perspectiveamindfuljournal , what tags make you feel a certain mood, health kit insights, etc.
I know you guys need donations to get features rolling, so I donated a bit. I’d maybe like to revisit Perspectiveamindfuljournal once it’s matured a bit, maybe it will surpass Journey :) I like what you guys have going

Amazing app, I’ve been using it for almost 2 years now and I love that I can look back at any day and it’s nice knowing that I won’t forgot any little memories throughout my life and it feels very nice to lay everything out and helps clear my mind, it’s easy to use, it has great themes, you can go back to edit any day, it has a quote of the day, if you are changing a device (which I had to do once), they allow you to save everything for free, you can customize when you would like a reminder notification to be sent out to you (or choose none at all), you can rate your week, there are no ads, it has a customizable section called “are you doing the things that make you happy,” where you can right some of your everyday tasks and such and each day you can rank how good you did on them (sorry if I’m bad at explaining). To wrap it up, I i hardly ever (if at all) write reviews, but Perspectiveamindfuljournal really deserves it, nothing but good things to say about it, I highly recommend it!

I absolutely LOVE Perspectiveamindfuljournal!! Being able to write wherever I am whenever I want is a huge stress relief!! I believe Perspectiveamindfuljournal really helps with my mental health ❤️. I like how I can chose my emotion (although I think there should be more to chose from than the 3 made available) and I really like how everything is in 1 place! If I want to look at my personal growth or decline for example, I can pull up the same day a year ago and see where I have made progress or even where I need to work a little bit harder to reach my optimal goal. I've been writing in my perspective for a little over 3 years now..... the sad thing is that I just realized that Perspectiveamindfuljournal isn't tied to my gmail? I recently was locked out of my tablet and I had to redownload my apps..... this one being one of them. All my work over the last 3 years..... is gone 🥺 This hurting my mental health, I find that I'm greatly discouraged from using Perspectiveamindfuljournal again in the way I used to. How do I get my writings back?? Please tell me this is fixable! Otherwise..... what a waste....

Inspiring!!!

So after days of searching for some kind of app to help me get my racing important thoughts straight and not forget what I want to desperately remember... Good helped me stumble upon perspective. I was skeptical after downloading and disliking several other apps that I was disappointed with but finally the search has ended. They don't charge for Perspectiveamindfuljournal and there are no in-app purchases required. You can read what their mission statements are and decide for yourself if you agree with their mission to just help people who become who struggle with their thoughts (like I do) I think you won't be disappointed. Perspectiveamindfuljournal is so helpful and inspiring and truly helps you see perspectives you might miss that will improve your quality of life. I really think these people are trying to make a difference! Thank you for what you are doing, "two hungry developers"! ❤🙏

Keep coming back

No matter how many journaling apps I try, I always come back to this one. I love how simple and straightforward the interface is. I love the small details of the daily quote, and the little questions you can choose to answer in your entries.

I’ve grown to love being able to rate my day so simply (from bad, to so-so, to good); at first I thought I needed it to be more complicated, but it’s been surprisingly freeing to just have the three options and pick the one that resonates with you the most. Has helped me become more grateful — been having more good days more often now :)

I also like the option to note whether you’ve performed any of the habits or activities you choose to keep track of.

My only request would be the option to upload video clips into our entries. I think that would really help make the experience special. I tried other apps that let you upload video, but they weren’t as well designed as this one, and I found myself missing it. My second request would be making it accessible across all platforms, which I know is one of the future projects that needs to be funded, so I’m hoping we get there! Would be even easier to journal consistently in that case.

I just really enjoy using Perspectiveamindfuljournal. Beautifully and thoughtfully designed. Big thank you to the developers for making an app that I’ve managed to keep using for more than two years now. Highly recommend to anyone who just wants a simple place to write daily, dated entries.

Never knew I needed Perspective until I really needed it

I honestly love Perspectiveamindfuljournal, and I never realized its importance until I really needed to exteriorize my thoughts. It’s very helpful to have an electronic diary because you can actually write about your feelings and experiences TO YOURSELF. It’s sometimes a lot better than venting to a friend and of course healthier than internalizing your emotions. Perspective pushes me to analyze my feelings and write them out which helps me take care of my mental health and realize when I hurt the people I love. I can also think about the things I wish I had done today and be proud of what I have done. Some days I’m too overwhelmed with my life so I don’t use perspective for up to 3 days, and that too makes me realize I need to get my life together and leave time for myself. Anyways, I totally recommend Perspectiveamindfuljournal to people who feel overwhelmed and out of touch with themselves, it helps you understand what’s happening around you and inside your head.

My Favorite Journaling App

Perspectiveamindfuljournal is literally the perfect journal for me. I have tried many journaling/diary apps, and it finally seems I have found one for the long-term. It makes journaling really fun and tempts me to write and document my life more often. I love everything about Perspective, I did not realize how important being able to see an overview of the years is until I discovered Perspectiveamindfuljournal, as once you have been journaling for a while, it would be difficult to access an entry from a while back, whereas this approach gives you a complete and convenient overview of your entries. I like everything about the design and the way Perspectiveamindfuljournal was made. I do have a few improvements in mind that I can think of though, however, say being able to add videos in an entry, being able to select multiple photos at once, being able to rearrange the order of submitted texts/picture in an entry eg. If I wanted to move or change the order of a picture/text I could drag it around and reposition it to where I want it to be in my entry.

I’m loving it so far!

Perspectiveamindfuljournal is amazing, it has everything you’d want in a journal app! It’s simplistic but not boring, you can add pictures, track how often you do things that you put down as most important to you, log your mood for the day:)
I use it as a semi-gratitude journal, I write down things I’m grateful for everyday, and things that made me happy!
They give you prompts at the bottom you can use if you want, but you can just type away if you want to just journal:)
What I most love, though, is this honor system thing they have going on. I wanted to unlock a pin for Perspectiveamindfuljournal , and it asked if I’d like to pay a couple different prices, like 1.99, 2.99, etc, but there was also a button that allowed you to unlock it without paying anything at all.
I was so impressed by this that I paid the middle price, even though it could have been free. It may seem silly, but I really have never seen that in an app, and I love it!

Best journaling app

This is by far the best, most comprehensive reflection app out there— not only for its features but truly for its ability to get you to reflect and see both a narrow and broad perspective of your life. It allows you to mark significant events, feelings, thoughts etc in the present while also being able to simultaneously zoom out and reflect on how each one of those days make up the weeks which turn into months which turn into years that make up your whole life. You really get to see the scope of how your every day has an impact on the future and also reflect on your past and how much your perspective has grown and you have changed as a person. I would definitely recommend Perspectiveamindfuljournal to literally anyone and everyone—whether they like journaling or not, everyone should use Perspectiveamindfuljournal to experience the beauty that comes with the discipline of self reflection.

To do’s to done

💥💪I’ve been using it for months now. Still helps me refocus and get back on track. Helps me be more gentle with myself. And it’s also been good to just admit when it’s not an awesome day, fell it, instead of going numb to try and not feel when things are off. Also amazing to see how many of my days are actually good and full of more than J have been recognizing. 💚💙
Here’s my old review:
I’m about 3-4 weeks in and I love Perspective. It is giving me the gentle nudges I need to do some little things for me that add up to a big change in love and commitment to myself. All those things I put off, because they are not for somebody else, I am actually putting time into - and guess what, I still have time for everybody else. I’m even getting more of my to do’s for everyone else done. And the tracking through brief journaling frees up and guides my brain that has been in a fog of overwhelm and underattention. Thanks!

INCREDIBLE AND MUST HAVE

I’ve always been a fan of journaling and paper journaling, so when my best friend told me that Perspectiveamindfuljournal helped her anxiety and thought I would enjoy it too, I was skeptical. However I soon fell in love with its incredible, and still free, features that help me to gain perspective on my life. It gives quotes often and you can see your whole life at a glance. You can rate your interests and see patterns between good days and bad days. I love Perspectiveamindfuljournal because I can journal wherever, whenever. It’s completely free and you don’t have to buy some sort of premium update like most apps do. This is definitely my favorite app of all time. I hope other people read this and get Perspectiveamindfuljournal because it has helped me so much. The benefits to this over paper journaling is that I don’t have to carefully date ever single entry and write only once a day. There are literally no restrictions. GET Perspectiveamindfuljournal!

We’ve been looking for an app that allows space to type thoughts, daily experiences, etc. The rating ability is unique and provides a nice visual of happy days vs less desirable days and an opportunity to reflect on them and grow. :)

The family primarily uses it to record breakthroughs, special moments, and things they’ve learned about themselves or others.

Here’s what we’ve experienced in the month or so we have used it:

+ great place to quickly jot down thoughts from the day or a “journal “ type entry.
+ fun questions that help you start recording thoughts
— Suggestion: expand the question list extensively and provide a list we can click on to choose questions; phrase the questions better, and base them off of cognitive or psychological studies done to improve critical thinking (or whatever); and double check the grammar used
+ Fairly easy interface after getting through and remembering steps from the introduction
— Suggestion: Provide a clickable table of contents (?) or reference section listing all features like journal, daily quotations, etc.
— Suggestion: Add features that expand the journaling option. For example, our family likes to climb in bed after a long day and reflect on the happenings of that day and how they impact life, relationships, etc. But right now that experience isn’t very engaging. Please make this an option so I can continue supporting Perspectiveamindfuljournal .

Fun and Inventive!

I used to be a stream of consciousness journaler. Later, I needed a goal setting and tracking assistant. Now, I’m looking for a journal to help me make a mindful review of the day. Perspective has all these bases covered (and other journaling methods I might choose) and let’s me do “me” whatever that is on any day. I love the way I can VOTE for, or support with my $ (Internal Kickstarter-style), proposed feature development and updates. I tested (and paid for) quite a few journal apps before choosing Perspective. It is lighthearted, and provides innovative access to insights on both today and my past entries. I do love Perspectiveamindfuljournal.
*** Revision *** I add photos to entries as well. Perspectiveamindfuljournal has the option to take a photo as I’m making as entry or add a photo from those stored on my device. I don’t know what a previous reviewer meant by wanting to “drop in” photos, but this seems to be a great alternative. I can get art and photos into my photo app then select it to add to my diary entry. Beautiful execution.

Beautifully designed, great UX, encourages honest reflection

First off, Perspective has such a great user experience. I work in software development, and guiding the user through the process of getting to know and use Perspectiveamindfuljournal is something you’ve done *very well*. So props and thanks!

A few proposed features I would love to see:

- search bar to search across all past entries

- support for tags / hashtags for a bit more organization

- support for voice recordings

- ability to export my data

- ability to add multiple photos at once

- support for adding videos

On a personal note, I have been using Perspectiveamindfuljournal for a little over a month, and it has been transformational for me. Here are a few features I love, and some context and feelings:

Perspectiveamindfuljournal is amazingly relaxing, and is easy to understand. I love how simple the questions are, despite the fact they cover something serious sometimes. I love to write, but sometimes I get paranoid about someone reading it, so I decided to find a app for it. And Perspectiveamindfuljournal was perfect! The only thing I would want to change, is the ability to put videos in the entries, although a wider range to rate my day would be GREAT. And I love that Perspectiveamindfuljournal isn't run by some corporation popping out apps just to make people download more of their stuff. This feels like a brain trust getting together to change something for ordinary people.
Perspectiveamindfuljournal makes it easier to laugh about slow days and harder to say I had a bad day. It gives me a chance to relive the best days of my life with pictures to accompany the memories. And that's a gift I'll cherish.

An awesome yet simple app for journaling

Journaling is something that I really enjoy doing, I just don't enjoy getting the book out in writing it. I've only been using Perspectiveamindfuljournal for about a week but it works great, remind me to create my entries, let me review my week and give it a rating and shows The aggregate mood for the week when it's done. My only complaint, because I have to have at least one that's who I am, is the text box needs to be much larger so that when dictating it's easier to see what's there. If you want to get started with journaling this is a good way to start. For your information, if you're interested, the best way to journal something of a personal and emotional nature is to write it on paper with your non-dominant hand. As I was told it slows your mind down enough so that you can be more in tune with what you need to write.

Perfect Journal App

I usually don’t write reviews but Perspectiveamindfuljournal deserves the time and effort.

So I have been wanting to start journaling for awhile but sitting down and doing it was always difficult. Perspectiveamindfuljournal is perfect because you can add updates throughout the day. If you are having trouble getting started you can sift through some mindful prompts.
I also like that you can rate each day. I’ve been focusing on my mental wellbeing and being mindful of which emotions I let rule my day. Seeing from day to day and week to week how my mood shifts help me be more mindful and in control.
One feature that I found really neat was the interest ratings. You can choose things that are important to you and rate how well you did in those specific areas. So you can keep track of individual goals without them having to impact the rating of the whole day. Its also a way that you can tag days with key words that sum up the focus of your day.

Overall I really love Perspectiveamindfuljournal. It’s easy to use and you get out of it what you put in. If you just want a place to store memories it works for that. If you what a goal tracker you got one. If, like me, you are trying to me more mindful of your mental state from day to day then it is absolutely perfect!

I’ve literally just started using this, but I can tell you this is one of the best journaling apps you’ll ever find. It’s completely free, which is something I can rarely ever find and I love that about this. So many apps say it’s free but truly, it’s not. However, this is not like that which makes it immediately stand out. Also, it’s incredibly simple and easy to use. I downloaded several other apps at the same time as this one, and this was by far the easiest to use. It’s self explanatory and you get what’s happening as soon as you start. Another great thing is that despite the simplicity, you’re also getting great quality logging and feedback. Perspective has so many great features that I really recommend you use to the fullest. I promise you, you won’t regret downloading this.

Great and easy to use

I was going through a rough time and journaling was recommended to me. I tried actually writing in a journal but I would always find it more of a chore than anything. Perspectiveamindfuljournal though makes it simple to journal as I can use talk to text, add pictures of things, and all this other jazz that would be a bit more work with a paper journal. Seeing as I’m on my phone already most of the time (either for work or leisure) Perspectiveamindfuljournal just made it simple to journal. Plus, Perspectiveamindfuljournal lets me decide how I felt overall about the day and then the week. If I don’t know what to write about, I can use one of the tools provided and it presents me with a thought provoking prompt.
