I am assuming that there was an update to GIFMaker because before, my photos from my camera roll would load into GIFMaker and then I could choose which item I was to edit in app. Now, the photos that were already uploaded can only be used and I can’t use any new media to upload in GIFMaker and t... Show more hat’s really inconvenient. You now have to pay a monthly or yearly subscription to save your edits or post them to your SM. Look, I’m not paying for a subscription to save a gif or any type of media edits from an app when there are other free apps that allow users to create gifs, boomerangs, and other media edits.

The developer sent out an email on GIFMaker wondering why he is receiving “1-star ratings.” Maybe you should take a look at the ratings. Updating GIFMaker and requiring users to “subscribe” in order to save or upload to their social media might be something to consider.

I will start my review by stating that I personally don’t spend my money on apps or download them for free unless I think it has some kind of personal value. What do I mean when I say “personal value”? I am referring to the satisfaction one may feel when an app is either serving its purpose or livi... After using the free version for roughly 2 weeks I felt that the full version would be worth the money. I enjoy having the ability to stitch still photos together to form a gif-like motion picture of what would otherwise be nothing but a number of lifeless stills. What’s even more appealing is a feature that automatically turns your Live Photo’s into small bursts of choppy abstract films. Great for family events and even planned creative gifs. Download it and enjoy as I have!

GIFMaker is so much fun to use and it is so unique. I started by just playing around with it for fun and wound up upgrading. I recently just posted one of my creations to my Facebook profile and was inundated with friends asking me, “how did you do that? “

One tip, however, when you are uploading your photo or photos, I think it is better to first edit the picture and clean it up the very best you can before uploading it to Momento. By this, I mean that you should apply all the airbrushing tools you have available, because if you don’t, GIFMaker will pick up all the imperfections that you may not even be able to see and they will show up.
Honestly, you just have to play around with it, but once you figure it out, it’s a lot of fun.

I take time selecting photos, I add them, and as long as I don’t select high definition GIFs or videos, everything is fine. But when I do select high definition, GIFMaker shuts down (without warning) and I have to start over re-selecting and adding my photos, but not with high definition. Also, if... Show more you select too many photos to add, GIFMaker shuts down whether you choose to create regular or high definition GIFs and videos. There should be a way GIFMaker stops allowing you to add photos, instead of shutting down and making you have to reload the photos again. Very frustrating and time consuming! Otherwise, GIFMaker does make great GIFs and videos, when it doesn’t shut down without warning.

I like Momento because it is the first photo video creation app that truly is user friendly, although there are many that proclaim to be, Momento actually is. Show more ime and when I’m in the middle of a project and end up spending hours editing and having to start over just as I finally had my design looking good, my immediate instinct is to delete all of my graphic design apps, even apps that I have upgraded to premium. This is the headache that I have been able to avoid by using Momento across my platforms. I can actually enjoy creating again! There are not many options here, but some times less is better.
Maybe some people base their ratings on free versus paid.
Well, you have the option of paying for more, but that does not mean the free version is useless. For what I wanted to do, the feee version was sufficient. The changes I ... Show more needed to make worked perfectly. So there is no reason for me to downgrade GIFMaker . Some times you pay for something is not really much different than the free version, and people don’t complain as much as they do with a version. That is unfair.
It works for me. That’s why I give it a five.

I downloaded GIFMaker originally just to make 1 very specific gif. What I didn’t expect was that all the Live Photo’s and photo bursts in my library would automatically be available to make into either videos and gifs. Not only that you could just scroll though your timeline and pick or choose the... Show more ones you thought were good. Then add to that the ability to add, slow, create effects or add frames - just over and above what I though I would get from GIFMaker. I paid the one year fee and made hundreds of family and friend gifs that are now cherished and go to memes for these groups. Love GIFMaker and a must have!

MOMENTO was introduced to me by a German colleague; I’m not sure I would have found it otherwise. It’s given me a super power to share highly customized and carefully crafted FULL LENGTH live videos exactly as I want. The editing options they have given to us are so generous and helpful. I can’t say enough good things about GIFMaker. But I can say, from the bottom my heart, thank you to these thoughtful and detail oriented developers. You’ve brought me and my friends many moments of joy, and they are some of my most treasured memories.

I like seeing moments captured, and GIFMaker allows me to do that whenever I have to to reminisce on recent activities me and my family had done. Only wish the yearly fee wasn’t so high. Also I love making my own momentos like for example I did one of little cousin from when she was born to her now (5 years old) and her mom loved it so much so plays it on the digital photo screen they have. Great app! And you can do a ton with it before you need to pay for anything which is always a plus!

I think it’s wonderful you care about those single stars because I’m sure that’s the beginning of the end for a lot of people, but please don’t let a few bad apples make you second-guess your decision to apply your talent in this way to our world. I love GIFMaker! Many times I’ve taken Live photos and just used the “still” that Apple software has automatically selected, but with Momento, it is SO quick and easy to open GIFMaker and then see these same photos in a totally different, animated way, often with very humorous results!

Show more t only that, but if you enable notifications, you get reminders of photos that you took one year ago—similar to Facebook “Memories”—even if you did not process those images in Momento at the time. These little nudges are perfect for me: I’ve taken many pictures that I don’t end up sharing on social media in the moment that, one year later, are so much fun to see and share—especially in animated form!

First of all, GIFMaker is amazing. I don’t care what other people are saying about it, but it’s great. Second, if you were to create an app like this and have people writing trash reviews about it, I’m sure you would be a little disappointed. So why don’t you go whine to your moms, and stop taking... Genady created Momento by himself and has received so much support, except for you middle aged men living in their mother’s basements who have nothing to do but write trash reviews(or maybe get jobs)on apps that are purely amazing. I’ve been using GIFMaker for the last couple of months, enjoying every minute of it.
I can save great moments from my life and quickly and easily create beautiful moments with this tool.
Creating GIFs from my own images using Momento’s Editor feature is something I searc... Show more hed for a long time, and it works perfectly.
Adding music to my creation adds alot to the “clippy” experience.
Besides that, there are several options of things to add to your Moment like stickers, text, effects and many more, that can really enrich your moment.
After my initial subscription, there was alot of content added to it which you dont see much in other apps.
The developer seems to really focusing in making GIFMaker richer, if its for example new AR effects that you cannot use in other apps that he added, or a great UI change which made GIFMaker look even more nicer.(with a new app icon)
Moreover, the developer has a built-in support capability with a great respond time, if you have any questions.
Performance wise, GIFMaker works fast and I didn’t encounter any bugs or quirks.
Stickers are added from time to time (like for the World cup) which I find really nice aswell.
Overall, I highly recommend GIFMaker!

I am old enough to remember when the basic version of a free app did the basics of what was advertised, and the premium version allowed you to get rid of pesky ads and access fancy bells and whistles.

The basic version of Momento, to the contrary, is useless. If I wanted a photo editing app... Show more , I would have chosen that instead of Momento. I chose Momento to create GIFs, but that functionality is reserved exclusively for Premium members.

It’s a classic bait-and-switch. Just be honest, eliminate Basic, and sell Premium. Or make Basic actually provide some basic GIF making capacity. Those are the only two ways you’ll be able to live with yourself in the long run. Thanks.

First impression, I can’t save anything to my album. I select save to UHD Gif or HD Gif and the it renders half way and, NOTHING HAPPENS! So Please can this be fixed. Cool app, works well; I am wondering though when apps will figure out that all consumers aren’t interested in subscribing for a phone app to edit photos? This isn’t nearly the same level of ‘Adobe’ or ‘World of Warcraft’; just allow a one time purchase to unlock, perhaps at different price points a... I juts have ZERO interest in subscribing to a million tiny apps; it’s disappointing they never offer alternatives. I hope they start to figure this out. Always a letdown to find a good app and discover they want a subscription...

GIFMaker promotes itself as a stop motion AND gif app, however it’s really only stop motion. It’s good for short gifs but when you want to make a longer video into a gif, it either makes the gif really fast or, if you slow the speed down, it’s very choppy. I’ve had other gif apps that are able to ... Show more make a long gif without it being choppy. I only use GIFMaker to get my money’s worth after being charged $40 😒 and the quality is actually good. But it would be really nice to have a feature that allows you to choose between stop motion, and a simple gif. Maybe if the developers actually read the reviews instead of just deferring it’s users to “feedback and suggestions”, something barely anyone is going to do, they would eventually receive better reviews

I found GIFMaker because I wanted to make a boomerang from a video I took earlier this week.

First of all, I love the ease and simplicity of the interface and editing screen. It takes a little to buffer your clip and play it real time but it definitely gets the job done and well with bright... Show more ness and contrast and other creative additions to your clip.

I give this a 3 star rating as of now because I can’t keep GIFMaker open for more than approximately 45 seconds. It makes me think that paying for GIFMaker will not be worth it in the long run since it continuously crashes.

This is a great, easy, robust gif maker app with some cool features. My one and only issue I have with it is there’s little to no compression or ways to reduce file size for gifs in-app. This makes it hard to produce ready to post gifs on Twitter. They do have their own upload service where to post... Show more a link to your gif, but Twitter doesn’t display gif media directly on your tweets when using a URL instead of upload. Small issue, but developer responded immediately to my question about it and said it’s likely coming in a future update. If you can look past this use case, get GIFMaker for its ease of use and functionality.

GIFMaker is SO MUCH FUN! Take some cool shots with your iCam, then turn them into live photos/videos, GIF files, etc. AND you can even add any of the songs in your music library that you *own*. (You cannot upload any of the songs from your Apple Music library; unfortunately, that is basically to b... Show more e expected with their ALAC files. I found GIFMaker a month ago and after 2 days I decided to upgrade to the PRO version. I was maybe distrait but I did not found where to set up the “no logo” and “own moments” options... It seemed like I am still in a free trial. I contacted the support (owner ? ) and a VERY HELPFUL MAN ANSWERED B... Show more ACK ASAP!!!! Even on Sunday!!!! He helped in everything, showed me everything step by step in emails and now all what I can tell that IT WAS ONE OF MY BEST PURCHASES FROM APPLE STORE!!!! GIFMaker is perfect, easy to use and the support behind this is excellent.

I hate subscription services for simple apps but it seems we have no choice these days. I’m on an iPad Pro and with GIFMaker and many others there are issues exporting all the time or freezing. I wrote a note to this app support to notify them of my export issues with their app and THEY RESPONDED... Show more WITHIN MINUTES! Export issues now have a workaround and I can at least have a dynamic gif making app that turns my simple shots into ART! 5stars just for supporting the subscribers who support their app.

So GIFMaker has been around for a while but a lot of people have not seen it or heard of it. I then selected it to send in a message to my entire family and by their reaction you would have thought I invented the iPhone. So much fun with so little technical savvy involved. When I originally sent it I was not sure if the photo would remain animated but of course it was!!
In a word: FUN!

I’ve been trying out a lot of apps for photo memories, like Timehop, LiveMemories, or Google Photos — but this one takes the cake!

Taking a Live Photo and reminding you with a GIF through push notification is incredibly effective. That’s just what you want. And I feel GIFMaker is very well ... Show more built and has lots of other nice features. One example being they show your entire library of Live Photos as a grid of moving images. Again—very effective!

Great app! Don’t be swayed by those bah-humbug folks rating GIFMaker one star! This is one helpful photo app if you’ve downloaded it for the reasons that interest you (especially for those of us using Live Photo’s and transforming them into perfect gifs). Great app but the only reason I’m giving 3 stars because there is no way to go back where you add or remove pictures once you start editing the music, speed, filters. There. Has to be an option to go back to the previous step to be able to add or drop pictures. Everytime i create a slide show, i ha...
