MUTV - Manchester United TV Reviews

I love the content that MUTV offers, and the picture-in-picture feature was a big improvement. That said, I’ve been using MUTV for about two years, and it remains very frustrating. You’d better hope that you don’t get a phone call while watching a match, because if you leave MUTV for longer than about 30 seconds, the match will reset and you’ll have to scroll through and try to remember where you left off. It is maddening! This used to be my only frustration with MUTV , but I used to really appreciate the care that went into the content of the match notifications. It seemed that whoever was managing the notifications would purposefully avoid spoilers. Now I have to turn off all notifications because I don’t want to know the score of the game at halftime or full time, as I won’t be able to watch the match until several hours after it has ended. PLEASE, STOP WITH THE SPOILERS!!! Nobody wants to watch a match for which they already know the outcome, especially if your app doesn’t allow for watching live matches. The final suggestion I would make is the addition of quick skip buttons to skip +/- 15 or 30 seconds while watching a match. This would be a nice addition.

I was wholly unimpressed with MUTV when it first came out but over the years, it’s become a solid offering. The recent update adding Picture-in-Picture is a long awaited feature. The native iPad and Apple TV apps are much appreciated as well.

The one thing missing for me now is landscape support on iPad. I spend most of my day behind an iPad with Magic Keyboard attached, and opening the this app app rotates it to Portrait. This isn’t good. Fortunately I can quickly choose what I want to watch and get back to work while using PiP. (Bonus points if we ever get support for Split View and Slide Over for iPad, but I’d be shocked if that ever happens.)

The content is fine for people who are not fans of Manchester United. For those who are fans, there is no content that helps us get to know the player or coaches.

Training video’s show us nothing but the beginning stages of warm-ups. No cafeteria convos or locker room shenanigans. No personality is shown. I know nothing new about the club or those in it. Youth games are a plus, that’s why I tried to keep it. But it still wasn’t even worth the great low price they offer. Literally, 3 dollars a month, and a dedicated fan like myself can come to no other conclusion than “not worth it.” I want MUTV and club to succeed. Bring some better footage! Maybe a “week in the club” show with players and their convos and personality. Weekly “coach chats” to see some of their personality. Cmon now!

Dear Manchester United FC, I’m a die-hard 22 year old fan of our prestigious club. I literally grew to love the club from my infant years when I barely knew much about football. I’m a Ghanaian, I first downloaded this app app in 2018 and MUTV said it doesn’t operate in my country yet. I downloaded it again today and it’s the same story. Now Manchester United is a BIG football club cherishes by people worldwide regardless of race, country or continent. With this, I think equal opportunities should be given to all Mancunians worldwide. We need the this app app in Ghana and other countries who don’t have access to operate it ASAP. Thank you!

Love MUTV and in ideal conditions it usually works flawlessly.

However, I sometimes have a problem with the video stream freezing - even when on a fast WiFi internet connection! - this ruins the live radio commentary. Today I was away from WiFi during game time and unfortunately it was unplayable over an average LTE connection.

Other than optimizing what you have, here are two possible solutions to reduce the load on data bandwidth.

1)Make an audio only stream available. I would like to be able to listen to the radio commentary with the phone in my pocket - this would be perfect!

2) If option one encroaches on radio rights restrictions??? Make an option to select a very low resolution video when watching the live radio video streams.

I have to bow my head to the this app developers. Great streaming quality, quick updates, live events, superb commentary, exclusive informative player content, tons of classic United moment uploaded, live Women’s games Academy games. My favorite is when the players interact with the local communities, youth academy and the training footage. Training footage is awesome because we really get a chance to see the players interact with each other. Again thanks everyone at this app for making this possible!

I live in the USA and I love Manchester United. I was hoping that I would be able to watch ALL their games LIVE, but was mistaken. After the World Cup they had some friendly games that were live. Other than that it’s just Pre and Post match content. I do enjoy the 20+ minutes of highlights. Not sure if that is for every game, but at least I get the highlights.

I have paid for year subscription but can’t use on my iPhone because I get the message “Sorry, this app is not available in your country. stayed tune” but yet I can use on iPad and my Apple TV so I have no idea how that makes sense. I’m happy I can use it in general but made I can’t use on the fly with my phone. Nothing helps it have tried vpn and still nothing. So I’m now where the hell MUTV thinks my phone location is. I’m not the only person where I live that has that issue. I live on a small island names St Kitts in the Caribbean. And no that’s not the reason again it works on my iPad.

I’m a long time man united fans. I subscribed the this app yearly to support the clubs and watch the united I love. But I will stop subscribe after this year cause there are no improvement on MUTV . It’s very slow to load and often freezes the videos. It’s take so much time of my life just waiting for MUTV to unfreeze.i know there are lots of videos but that cant be the reason. There are tv app with lots more videos and live tv but they are working flawlessly while this app keeps getting worse and worse.

I subscribed and then MUTV wouldn’t work...it just kept giving me the spinning wheel. So I did a software update on my Apple TV and it suddenly worked! Now it won’t let me login and is saying my credentials are incorrect...even though they aren’t!! So then I reset my password online which was nearly an hour ago and I’m yet to receive it in my email inbox, despite checking spam/junk folders also! I’m now going to miss the last game of the pre season tour because MUTV is totally crap and there’s no online staff/representative to help me instantly so I can watch the game!! If I could give it 0 stars...then I would!

Woodward is useless as chief executive he’s a business man first not a football man he does not know how to negotiate in the transfer market and has lost us many good players through his incompetence the exchange deal with juvecfir Lukaku should be done and dusted and we should have already have a couple of midfielders signed up

When they promote things like us celebrating a victory vs PSG in the quarter finals. That tells you where we are as a club. The Glazers all six of them, Woodward and Judge have brought our club into disrepute. We are now the club that settles for 4th. We are the laughing stock. Yet they want to replay videos from Sir Alex’s time. We are not Liverpool. We do not want to live in the past. Show some ambition. Stop milking the cow for dividends. I will never buy anything from this club as long as those people are in charge. They are a bunch of parasites ruining our club.

These sorry money grabbers care nothing for the future of the club and could care less for the fans. They have destroyed the club. Unsubscribe from this, unfollow them on social media, and don’t buy food or drinks at Old Trafford. The only way they’ll even notice anything’s going wrong is if their money starts messing up.

Quality content, but lacks quantity. First team games include preseason only, but it’s a great way to see U23s, U18s, etc. The streaming quality on live games has been questionable at times. I’ve run MUTV through Roku for comparison during a preseason game. Sling had a high quality stream, while this app was fuzzy.

The on demand works great but trying to watch anything live on MUTV is impossible. On my iPhone or iPad the sound drops out after about a minute & never returns. On my computer it buffers over & over & over. After the first buffer the picture & sound is about 5-7 seconds out of sync. Never had streaming problems like this from any other services that are free with my TV subscription but now I'm paying extra & the streaming quality is from 1995.

App has so many bugs. Constantly lags when browsing through the content, crashed on me once already and I just downloaded it. And most annoying of all when there is an upcoming event it’s not in local time, so now I have to go figure out the time difference. This is the biggest club in the world come on now I bet spurs could make a better app if they had enough downloads

I love the content, keep that up. But the player itself needs severe improvement. Audio-only mode during a match stops playing every 2-3 minutes. Not buffering, but fully stops so that you have to reset MUTV to get it playing again. It does the same in video mode but every 5-7 minutes.

Before you commit to a subscription, you should know that they DO NOT show live matches. this app promos are very good at wording their ads which will make you think that they do, but they don’t. They do not own rights to games so all matches are shown a day later. I even signed up to watch the pre season friendly, and yup, that ones not being shown live either. Save your money and find a stream, do not support MUTV. MUFC are filthy rich so they don’t need this.

I would pay more to be able to actually watch the games on this app. I’m certain many other feel the same. I know this is difficult due to rights and such but there should be something that can be agreed. I riding tide raises all ships, give us the option to pay for it.

For fans that miss the live matches shown here, it will be helpful if an extended highlight of the match is shown here 15-20 minutes similar to match day highlights. Player profiles coverage is heavily biased toward past generations rather current crop of players.

App has been improved recently. It doesn’t suddenly stop like it use to, also now game commentary plays in audio mode (you can leave app working in background )

Seems to have difficulty knowing when to rotate on iPad Pro. I almost always have to spin the iPad around a few times until it gets it right. No issue with other video streaming apps but this one. Videos sometimes need to be tapped on multiple times before they will load or they load the incorrect video.
