I just downloaded HuntFishNY so I can purchase my fishing license. Nope can’t, it says I have an existing account which I don’t have one bc I’ve always had paper so I proceeded to reset my password to said account and get an email saying I don’t have an account. So it said email customer service in which I did and got another email saying it wasn’t delivered due to the email not existing. So which is it? Regardless HuntFishNY is useless bc I can’t proceed.

Can't even log in!!! Get redirected to the website, no prob all account details are immediately avail - whatever this "App" is supposed to do, it doesn't! Don't waste your time downloading it, just go to the website. Typical New York, everything is a waste ...right from the governor on down

Created a new account and it correctly pulled in prior license history. When attempting to purchase a new license it says that “based on your account information, we’re only showing you non-resident license info”. I’ve lived in NY for 11 years and am 37 years old. Info on file indicates that. When I click on the option to “add more information” to my profile so that I can verify my residency, it ask for a “Parents” drivers license. They have some work to do on HuntFishNY!

Got asked to show my license today, and HuntFishNY wouldn’t open. Luckily the ranger was understanding. I was just loading worms for the kids, but if I was out fly fishing, this could have been a big deal.

HuntFishNY used to work and I was able to see my licenses. I just tried to use it to purchase another license and it won’t even open, even after updating it. Please get this fixed!

This is an absolutely useless app, every time I did manage to get it to work it would crash within minutes, but as of lately, HuntFishNY won't even open at all. Don't waste your time with this pointless app.

If the goal of HuntFishNY is to confuse users and send them screaming back to their usual tag dispensary, then bravo. Job well done. I’m a gen X computer savvy user and this thing is useless. Just imagine how the older generations feel. Forgot to mention the tag ordering process debacle. Holy heck.

Been using HuntFishNY since its inception and it gets more and more brutal with age. Freezes, slow, password reset process is terrible, sad this is the DEC app as it does not meet their standards. My guess reporting is low because this is such an unreliable app.

HuntFishNY is seriously the most useless app I’ve had. It hardly ever actually works. Some of the features it says it has, aren’t there. It glitches ALL THE TIME. My biggest issue is trying to switch users between me and my 2 sons. My sons are 12 and 14 and when I registered them at 11, I used my email address and their name. HuntFishNY is on my phone and won’t allow me to switch between users with the same email address. I rarely delete apps, but I’ve been trying to use this since the beginning, and it’s just not worth the frustration. I have other things in life for that.

Another NYS non functioning product. I can’t even sign up. I put in my info, It looked me up just fine. I created my password, checked all the boxes, and it still give me a error message and doesn’t highlight anything so I don’t know what is wrong. Garbage from the beginning!!!!!!!!

Worked originally when I updated the iOS 16.3 hasn’t worked sense. Only way to access. My data is to login directly to their website.

Work around: after you have downloaded HuntFishNY and it does not allow you to login click on forgot password. It will take you to a website with a login screen login to access your data/history.

HuntFishNY is aweful. It freezes constantly. When reporting your harvest, it will not produce the answers for the question it is asking. You can save your progress for the 5-7 simple questions it asks and sometimes the next question will work, usually it will not though. I had to use the DEC website to report my kill. You can do better NYS. We pay a lot of money for our tags. Get a better mobile app developer.

After making an account I got a notice that services for HuntFishNY were down. I found it odd that I could make an account but can’t log onto HuntFishNY . I’ll try again in a day or so but so far HuntFishNY is garbage!

It doesn’t load, won’t let you report your harvest, just not a good app. Complete junk.

App has great info. One bug I found is that when you are using the tacklebox map, when you click on a body of water, and then view segments, and then view segment on map, HuntFishNY closes.

Latest version in August 2023 no longer launches. It starts to open and immediately closes. I have had similar problems in the past.

The solution seems to be delete HuntFishNY and install it again. Add your user profile and it may work again.

HuntFishNY also needs to record hunter education history. It would be nice to have proof of the waterfowl id course to show at Montezuma without carrying my original card.

I use HuntFishNY daily, and it is convenient when in the mountains with no service to have the offline map load and tell me what is public with my GPS location. The most recent offline map update destroyed all offline functionality. Now when you zoom in even slightly, any waterbody disappears. Seems to work with service…for now. A must have app for NYS anglers!

Someone needs to update for 2019. HuntFishNY could be so useful to Hunters. Update it ! Also I think it would be beneficial to hold the education courses. So you do not need to haul the waterfowl cars around as stated

HuntFishNY is fine.

It would be nice to buy tags in HuntFishNY but it works great for managing the tags.

I downloaded HuntFishNY for game harvest reporting, but it really came in handy while fishing today! I lost my paper license, but since I had the electronic version available on HuntFishNY, I didn’t need to pay for a replacement license. I always have my cell phone on me and HuntFishNY is all I needed for proof of my fishing license! It even works when not in cell service. Very handy!

HuntFishNY works wonders and can even save your behind in a pinch, I will say if you are technology illiterate and are unable to link the most basic of systems together, your gonna have a bad time. IF you are in the slightest way capable you will love this freaking app !!!

I swear all the negative reviews on this must be from people who are technologically challenged or just not very bright in the first place.

I’ve literally never had a problem with HuntFishNY and it’s worked perfectly for me across multiple platforms. it’s got all my licenses and permits on here and it’s really easy to harvest report straight from HuntFishNY.
