Again unable to edit rounds

Several hundred rounds edited and logged. I recently had issues which seemed to resolve themselves, now I’m again unable to edit a round. ShotScope crashes on both my iPad and iPhone when I try to open the round. I’ve deleted and reinstalled ShotScope , and made sure its updated. ShotScope gets worse and worse. Bring back the data that used to be available on the website - club proximity by lie type. I can’t select individual clubs when looking at lie type. This is key to understanding which clubs you’re best out of the bunker with as one example. This used to be available on the website. I can’t continue to support this app by buying new devices if ShotScope and data accessibility continues to lag behind competitors.

Connection issues to phone

Customer Service is great. They replaced the original V3 Shot Scope after it stopped loading my rounds after nearly 10 months of use. The watch is exceptional when it works. The replacement watch worked properly for the first few rounds but now I am have the same connectivity issues between the V3 watch and my smart phone. I can’t load new courses. I can’t load completed rounds so I can’t check my updated statistics which is very frustrating especially since I want to check my distances and accuracy with the new clubs I purchased. This watch has great capabilities but it is not reliable and doesn’t perform. Actually, I can rely on it not performing as advertised. This is a dud. If you’re thinking of purchasing the V3, don’t waste your time or money. Both watches I’ve had this past year just don’t work properly.

Round updates virtually unusable

Not sure if there was an update recently, but the round sync function has been extremely slow for at least a week. I had to run it overnight to sync a round the other day and, this morning, my watch died while syncing after I carried that and my phone from my house, commuted 20 min to work and then dropped both on my desk. What’s going on folks?

App is a deal breaker

I’ve used this watch for 2 years it works great gives me perfect yardage at a glance.

ShotScope is probably one of the most buggy worst experiences I’ve ever had. Misses a few shots but that’s understandable, takes a long time to sync my rounds if it even connects at all. Sometimes app just keeps spinning or syncing which lead me to re download ShotScope , lost all my data for the last two years because neither of my emails work.

Anything beyond getting real time yardage is a complete headache.

Really Really Wanted to Like This

I bought the X5 because I didn't want to deal with a subscription. When the watch works correctly, it's mostly good. But then sometimes it'll just randomly jump holes and won't let me go back to the right hole. In the middle of a round, I don't have time to fiddle around with the watch for 15 minutes. And ShotScope is head scratching. Why does it take forever to load? This should be one of the easiest things to get right. It's like ShotScope is still using dial up while every other app on my phone is running on fiber.

This app COULD be a hole-in-one.

Overall ShotScope is good, but it could be much better. They need to bring all the stats that are on the web version to ShotScope . It’s a pain that in order to see the data that matters I have to whip out my computer. Wish they had dark mode. Wish you could actually share round data rather than just screenshots of rounds or holes (they’re missing out on huge marketing here as I’d love to send a round to you friends). After editing a round you have to say “Sign Off” which is a really confusing phrase especially when they refer to it as Save everywhere else in ShotScope (and there is Sign Out in other parts of ShotScope ). Doesn’t seem like it’s been tested on iPhone 12 mini as all page titles hit the top of the screen. “Courses” and “Course Hub” are confusing to me. Don’t know the difference. Club filtering is annoying as it scrolls back to the beginning whenever you select a club. All-in-all ShotScope and product is really good, but there are small tweaks and improvement that could make it great. They need to keep investing in cleaning things up and bringing more and more data to ShotScope . This product is better than Arccos because they focus on the data. If they double down on that they will grab market share from serious golfers looking to better understand their game.

Want round to sync with phone while playing for mid round edits, and ability to hide putting screen

I don’t like having to manage my round mid round from the watch, the phone app should be able stay synced and show you as soon as a shot is hit. Also I walk by the perimeter of the green and get the pincollect screen to appear while I am still chipping, I don’t like that I can not dismiss the screen/not sure if it will track the following shots properly… other than that the data and gps are nice!

What happened?

This was such a fun app until I updated to the latest version. Lost the performance stats pages - which is the best part of ShotScope - and now I just see the boring home page. Hopefully they fix this and get full functionality back, otherwise this not useful.

Excellent data

this app is an awesome device/app for golfers looking to improve their game. If you take the time to edit your rounds for accuracy, ShotScope gives excellent data and will show exactly where you’re losing strokes on the course. I’ve found that aside from putting, the GPS is incredibly accurate. Putts can be hit or miss depending on how much time you give the device to get your location.

ShotScope itself can be a little janky and sometimes takes a few tries to connect to my device to sync rounds but it’s only a minor inconvenience. There have been a lot of quality of life improvements to the round edit feature in the last year as well to make things easier.

Newbie but I still recognize it needs improvement

I really love the data I can accumulate to improve my game and really dig that this app sensors are included and no extra cost for subscription. That key difference is why I went w/ this app. Generally, the automatic scoring works. But on 3 or 4 occasions while golfing the round was not captured. In one instance, the GPS got lost on a specific hole at the tee box which had been under construction and the rest of the round was goofed up. I lost data for 9 holes when it was an 18-hole round and while golfing the watch looked like it was keeping pace and recording data. I also don’t understand the discrepancy between manual scoring and automatic scoring. When confirming a score while in “Pin Collect” mode is that the manual score? I thought it was me confirming what the watch had calc’d for my score. Key point: if distance to the pin is your main reason for buying/wearing a device this one is highly accurate, very comfortable and easy to use.

Improve Your Game

I am an avid Shot Scope user for 3+ years and have dropped my index from 16 to 9.0 (with gym work) as a 66 year old, male golfer. What a fun and terrific tool for recording and re-living your greatest golf rounds. It helps me to develop a strategy for courses I frequent and for courses I’ve never seen before.

Shot Scope has all the right data to help with club selection and to show you how to improve your game as fast as possible. An economic tool without a subscription model (right, no ongoing fees) and you get your own shots gained metrics vs tour players or any handicap range you wish.

Plus you can see your metrics compared to golfers in the U. S. or around the world.

Highly recommended.

Missed pins

I quire often have to edit where the pin was on nearly every green.
I will stand next to the cup and click on pin pickup and it rarely records it correctly, I’m not sure if it’s me or the watch.
An occasional missed shot, but it mostly will add extra putts even when I click on the number putts taken and push putt pick up it will some times add one or even two.
I wonder if it’s because I do take little practice swings as I wal up to the ball, but I always key in the actual putts taken.
What I find really good is the front, middle, back yardages, until I get close to the green then it just goes to putts.
Overall I enjoye shot scope.

I like the old V2 better

I just played in a State tournament. My new X5 quit my round on the 14th hole. I had to start a new round and navigate to the correct hole. It’s not good in the middle of a round.
I got home and tried to connect to the watch to download my first 3 rounds on the new watch. It connected, but wouldn’t sync the rounds. I tried to connect to the device again 10 times and it failed every time. Closed ShotScope , tried to connect again, wouldn’t connect.
I really liked the V2. I have been using it since it became available.
The new X5, I’m not so happy with it.
To unlock the screen, you swipe up. The screen is not very responsive. In the rain, forget it.
Too many swipes to get what I want, crashes on my third round, and will not sync with the device.
I think I will stick with the old V2.

Love it

ShotScope works as described. Note that I believe you need one of the this app watches as well. That said, I find that it really has been helping me improve my golf game as I can hone in on specific areas for improvement. There is a bit of a learning curve and it can be annoying to adjust shots after a round. However, I’ve not had an issue with shot tracking since I got the newest X5 and upgraded tags. Love what ShotScope and watch have done for my game.

99% of the way there

ShotScope works seamlessly along with the watch and makes it extremely easy to track your scores and performance. Adjusting your shots and card after the round needs lots of work but the biggest issue here is that there needs to be a handicap calculator that collects your signed off cards and helps calculate your handicap over multiple courses and rounds. This watch and app are meant to help your game and I think this feature would make it much easier to track your progress!!

Fantastic product

this app’s technology is the best of the 3 I have tried (Gamegolf and Garmin were the others). Clubs are picked up flawlessly if you take a couple practice hacks. Sync to the phone is quick/reliable. Watch’s battery life is enough for 36 holes. Love the P-average stat too since it filters out your REALLY crappy shots.

Glitchy

I have had a shot scope watch and tags for a few years, upgrading to V3 last year. Watch works great, desktop is no longer supported so you’re now forced to use phone or iPad. Downloads of rounds work great but there’s no editing. I recently lost the putter tag during a round and didn’t realize until about 5 rounds later. But now I can’t change those rounds as the edit feature doesn’t work.

Tried reinstalling app on IPad and still broken. Nothing to distinguish it from a free Apple Watch or phone app now.

App is frustrating

App doesn’t allow me to drag a shot that is added. When I try to drag the shot it exits the round without saving. Very frustrating. Have to update on computer.

Smorgasbord of Data

The watch is comfortable, unobtrusive and secure. I’ve compared the distances shown on the watch against my range finder and am confident the GPS info is accurate. The data provided on the watch is sufficient to get around the course. With GPS + Tracking you get epic data on your round. The sensors affix to the grip easily. The data on the portal is robust and can provide you with a deep dive into your metrics beyond how far you hit your clubs. Where you miss are by percentages by drive, approach, scrambling, and putting. Strokes gained is a great data set that allow you to look at how you compare against different handicaps and even the tour.

Best golf data app!!!

I’ve been a this app user for a few years. The data collected has really given me a great picture of my game and where to look to improve. It has only gotten better in the time I’ve had it!! Now I can compare my stats against other with similar handicap or the other hdcp on my group. It’s a minimal investment that can give great rewards to your game!! I have gotten better by using it.
