Internet Connection

8/9/20. For the past few rides, Strava is not showing some segments. It’s saying that my GPS data went off track. I turned adaptive recording on and off and it’s doing the same. Nothing but problems. Constantly. Thinking about just using quad lock mount and iPhone, since GPS and app always have some issues. Or maybe switching to Garmin? Always something.

Keeps telling me no internet connection so my ride can’t sync with Strava or cloud. I have always had some issues with app and gps. One thing gets fixed and something else breaks. How hard can it be to have everything working right. It’s not a complex programming. I will be looking for another GPS or will be using just phone and quad lock mount.

Used to work

When it worked, the GPS was decent and calculated elevation, average speed, etc. You would get a map of your route.

Now it just says there are connection issues. Says it needs to connect to Bluetooth, but Bluetooth is on AND ALREADY CONNECTED to this device.

Feels like they keep GPSAlly here in GPSAlly Store but just don’t update the device or GPSAlly anymore.

Hate the new update!

Who chose Royal Blue lettering on a black background? I can barely even see that during room lighting let alone bright sunlight or dusk. Please allow Dark mode toggle within GPSAlly and change menu font color's

Totally Non-functional

GPSAlly has become outdated to the point of being unusable. It’s sad because I used to love my Lezyne GPS and recommend it to others but it seems like they’ve given up.

Don’t waste your time or money

Half the time my rides won’t upload or GPSAlly will kick me out completely and say try connecting to the internet. Absolutely garbage app and computer.

Every time there’s an update…

Every time there’s an update to the GPS or GPSAlly , I can expect to spend at least 20 minutes trying to figure out why things aren’t working and troubleshooting for a fix.

The battery life and relatively low price tag (replaceable in the event of a crash) make Lezyne computers make a really great option for mountain biking when all I really need is a device to track my ride, but it’s a bummer that it’s reliably a software headache every 3-6 months.

Embarrassing. Feels more like a Beta version

The only thing that works on GPSAlly is syncing my rides to Strava. That, however, is when it actually connects to my phone, which as stated by others is a royal pita. Sometimes it’ll connect, and then disconnect a minute or two later. And forget syncing a pre built ride from GPSAlly to the gps...that inevitably ends in an “oops, there was an error” message. It takes me up to 5 tries to sync 1 route with no more than 8 waypoints. Lezyne’s solution was to tell me to update the device...but my device was already on the latest firmware, and I check that before every ride anyway. Today I can’t even build a route without GPSAlly crashing. Seriously, Lezyne, build an app that works. This is embarrassingly bad.

Issues

I would love to give GPSAlly a 5 star rating, BUT.... I can’t because of one issue.

Connectivity.

It is a royal PITA to connect GPSAlly with the device. Occasionally it works as advertised. But too many times I have to go through the entire pairing sequence to get it to connect.

When I contacted tech support I was told that I needed to update the the device. It didn’t help. And why can’t I do that via my phone and Bluetooth? My computer has no ports, so I have to find another computer that I can borrow to update the GPS device.

I might add that I have paired my wheel and pedal sensors to the device, but it seems to forget those too. I’ll be riding along and realize that the sensors didn’t automatically connect. Again.

Seems to lack basic functionality

1. When I try to sync with my Alex the Macro GPS (new one), it says "cannot sync while navigating", even though I'm clearly not navigating.
Got around this problem by restarting the Lezyne Macro GPS, got the rides on my phone, but then:
2. Cannot sync with Strava because when I try to connect my account, just... nothing happens. Window disappears.

Seems like a decent product, but fix your app please. Would love to not need to return my GPS.

great function but …

great function but whoever thought dark blue text on black background was a good idea - its not. Please make this configurable or use colors everyone can see and read

Not bad so far

Update to previous review. GPSAlly is getting buggy lately. Getting error messages when I upload ride. Time for an update to GPSAlly : I want to give GPSAlly 4 or 5 stars but to be fair to all the others, Cyclemeter, Strava, MapMyRide etc it has to be 3 for now. The unit I'm using is the macro GPS. Now, that is awesome, totally 4.5 stars for the unit. GPSAlly set up and communication with the gps is pretty seamless. Very easy to use app. Love how easy it is to upload my rides to both the phone and the cloud. Solid 4.5 there. Super easy to sync to Strava. But the real info and analysis is found online on your profile page. I was hoping for a bit more info being available on or via GPSAlly . So far the battery on my phone seems to be barely affected when using the Macro gps. I'm looking forward to more updates and improvements to GPSAlly itself.

Still working fine for me

So many negative reviews but it works fine for me. I just updated my phone and it still works fine. I have to give high marks for the support team. Anytime I have had issues or questions, they have been very responsive.

Great app constant improvements

GPSAlly works great for my device, Strava is also auto synced correctly. The developer continues to improve the features, I especially liked the update where you can setup the computer from your phone. I would love to see the developer create an app for the new Apple Watch that could access the cellular network on it so I could leave my phone at home on rides.

Great device, app is quickly getting much better!

I got the Super GPS computer a few months ago. Love it so far - it's really nice to be able to set up the very configurable screens on the head unit using GPSAlly rather than the less user-friendly buttons and menus on the device. And the recent updates to support more data fields on a screen make this even more robust and flexible - it's excellent!!

The look and feel still is a bit dated, but GPSAlly functions well. I had run into a couple of really annoying bugs, but after reaching out to support, they were quick to research and send me a workaround, then they followed up really soon with App Store updates.

With GPSAlly and the very affordable computer head unit pairing, I think Lezyne has found a sweet spot of really powerful product and I'm excited for future development!

Lap Time Field and Strava/TP sync not functional

All in all, I really like Super GPS. Especially being able to have my wife “follow” the rides in case I get into trouble. But, there are two issues with it that are annoying.

The Lap Time data field does not actually provide the lap time. It just keeps displaying the total ride time. Obviously, this isn’t helpful for intervals.

Also, TP and Strava, the listed as synced in GPSAlly , do not receive the rides automatically.

New version mixed bag

Like anything else, some things I like, others I don’t on the new version. I like the additional data presented when I save the ride. The splash screen at startup is confusing. Small point, but presenting distance and speed to the second decimal would be better than just to the first decimal. Hey, when you ride as slowly as this old guy, 1/100 of a mile matters. Other things are just a matter of getting used to. I’m too old to get excited by a new look that a designer changes for the sake of changing it.

Works great

So many bad reviews on here I had to say something. Worked perfect for me. Never any problems. Connected to phone once and never thought about it again. The only thing I wish was better was the auto upload to Strava.

Great connectivity. Friendly, easy to follow.

I would give a 5 stars because it got easier to use after last update.
Solved connection problems, BLE is faster now.
To create a route online is pretty simple, easy to manage. Also I felt more fast transferring routes to device.
Also to create a background map on Mega is got really easy, I almost never use Lezyne root anymore for doing that (is good to have a backup way). Last version was not that easy.
Finally, with an updated design it got much more fast to connect with my Mega.

Newest version (Feb 2022) is great!

Really love the newest update! Great new look, and the integrations with Strava and Kamoot are well done. Good job devs!

No issues so far...

Was looking at reviews and surprised there have been a lot of issues. I have the Mega C gps and before that I had the Super Gps. I have been using the Lezyne app for about 4 yrs. No major issues. App platform very intuitive compared to Garmin’s. Navigation is great. Before ride I just close phone (app still running) and put in jersey pocket. Everything is on Gps. If there is a small gripe, rerouting takes a little longer than would like but not a big deal. Also, downloading offline maps takes longer through app. You are better off doing it from your computer and drag and drop. If I have to make changes to my gps, I go through app. It’s so much easier. Also syncs up with Strava almost immediately. Sometimes when I save a ride on gps it doesn’t save it to app. But then I connect it to my computer and its in the gps files. I just have to drag n drop. Happens once every 8 to 10 rides. Very happy with app, gps and Lezyne customer service. Hope this review doesn’t jinx my experience with Lezyne backend to front end!
