I’ve been using DualMessenger for years to get WhatsApp on my iPad. It has been buggy and quirky, but worked. Tonight I updated from DualMessenger store and now it’s a totally different app with a required subscription from the splashscreen. No introduction, no trial period. Nothing.

It’s not that I would necessarily mind paying something, but, given how mediocre it has been, I would want an opportunity to at least look at it. (Maybe they might be motivated to fix the bugs if I paid something, but I don’t want to find out by paying first.)

Delete and start over.

Overall is a useful app if you are fully focus chatting. However the moment you minimize it you will lose track of the conversation since there is no notifications or badges for new messages. There is also some lag in between conversations or after minimizing and reopening DualMessenger . Lastly there is an annoying bar at the bottom of the screen that prevents you from just typing, I am unsure if there is where the adds are showing but for people that paid for DualMessenger it should not be a thing. Often enough you have to drag the screen a bit to be able to touch passed that and continue typing, quick workaround but annoying to use and it would easily drift users to other alternatives after some time.

Dear developers, you need to update this WhatsApp. I just purchased it and it does not have a new update for the past 2 years . I am advising you to update DualMessenger and make improvements in DualMessenger and please fix all the issues of DualMessenger. It has many issues such as downloading the images and files and can’t even leave and it also need to refresh the content to get back to the main page. If you improve the interface of DualMessenger. I am sure that people will start purchasing DualMessenger. For now it is very horrible as there is no new update of DualMessenger itself.

I’ve used the WhatPad app for years. Today it’s gone and replaced with Dual Messenger+ that now requires a paid subscription. I seem to recall I purchased DualMessenger years ago and now have to pay to keep using it. I have no issues with subscriptions, but when an app flips from something I paid for to now requiring monthly subscriptions, I’m out. It would have been better to remove from DualMessenger Store and add a banner that it’s been discontinued and a new app has been released in it’s place. If I have to pay, I’ll look at all the other apps I need to pay a subscription for and consider those, too.

Ok DualMessenger was just fine before but now this thing popped up showing you how get what's app on your computer, and there is no X button to make it go away so now every time I open DualMessenger it’s still there and I can’t even look at the contacts on there anymore I can’t text people on it anymore because of the stupid thing telling me how to download WhatsApp on my computer. And another thing is I don’t even have a phone just a tablet and WhatsApp isn’t made for tablets so I can’t even download WhatsApp and get it on my computer. I only give DualMessenger one star for trying, fix this immediately and also please write me back if there’s a way to get rid of it that I’m missing😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

I initially downloaded DualMessenger to use WhatsApp on my iPad Mini 6, but the experience has been far from smooth. DualMessenger essentially just wraps the WhatsApp website in a clunky interface that doesn’t even fit the full screen of the iPad, making it feel awkward and out of place. There were various quirks and issues that made it difficult to use comfortably.

Today, I opened DualMessenger to try and communicate with a friend, only to find that it’s now completely locked behind a subscription paywall. I checked DualMessenger Store for any new features or updates, but none of them appealed to me at all. For an app that didn’t function well to begin with, the subscription model feels unjustified. I’ll be uninstalling it and would not recommend it to others.

Ok first of all I have a friend who I want to text that doesn’t have an iPhone and I asked my friends for suggestions they recommended this. I got very excited I finally found a way to text my friend! But noooooo I can’t even get past a blank screen. I’ve tried waiting and waiting and waiting for it to load, refreshing DualMessenger , even deleting DualMessenger , and FYI NON OF THAT WORKED. I’m very mad that I can’t text my friend so I’m going to have to find a new app. BTW I’m almost positive that the replies at the bottom where you answer the questions are fake. And if I know better you’re not even going to put my review up IF NOT EVEN READ IT. Apps don’t care about what people have to say but they should care because people have suggestions and if u don’t fix them no one is going to use your app. IM NOT GIVING U ANY STARS BECAUSE I CANT TEXT MY FRIEND WHO BTW I ONLY SEE THEM ONE HOUR A DAY SUNDAY-THURSDAY. i find this very upsetting I HOPE YOU READ THIS AND FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM IFFF YOU READ THIS. AND IF ANYONE ELSE READS THIS DONT GET THE FREAKN APP ITS AUFUL.

My first time on Messenger today. An unknown person contacted me and told me to install WhatsApp so we could talk. I did, and in privacy, he tried to sell me on the store card scam he was running by telling me I’d won $600,000 and a new car. All I had to do was illegally come up with $300 on a store card, and my future would be made.
It just so happens that I’ve been hired by our local sheriffs office, as I am a cybercrime specialist, to investigate identity theft and fraud. Scams like this joker’s fall right into that category.
I think I will change the one-star rating I gave to 3 stars. Why? I caught a lawbreaker, and I get to report him to the attorney general’s office in my state. Thanks, WhatsApp…I guess?

Split view. Do you still employ any developers/coders etc? I have a teen who is a talented coder who will work for you in a few years if you still haven’t added SPLIT VIEW to this otherwise good app for messaging. Split view. Seriously rubs me wrong when you nerf your app like this. Next, notifications. Wow. I must be missing something but not having notifications on an app for communication seems… is there politics behind adding these functions?

This is the best ipad whatsapp portal though, which is sad because notifications and split view, or at least that hovering blade view, is integral. An app everyone no doubtedly hates but uses lol hate is a strong word but it’s bitter.

DualMessenger is really nice. It is o much easier when you have a real keyboard to use an app like this. It does have limitations, must connect to your iPhone, plus a few minor issues. The biggie for me is that when you want to respond to a particular chat, you have to touch the person name on list more than once. Multiple times i have touched particular chat, it;s highlights it but does NOT connect you to that chat. You have to touch it at least twice to actually be in that chat. I have had many embassing situations thinking that I;m in correct chat and have shared things not intended for that particular chat. PLEASE fix that!!!!!

I have been using DualMessenger for about 2 months now - paid for the ad-free version. Having it on my iPad helps when I need to charge my phone at my desk but still require WhatsApp on the go during meetings. Overall, my experience has been decent but the reason(s) why my rating is capped at 3 at the month (I would have given 2.5 if I could) is:
(1) there is a lag in the updating of conversations where I have to turn back to DualMessenger for it to refresh and then for new conversations come in. The inability to have notifications really diminishes its usefulness and timeliness.
(2) when I try to open a PDF attachment, it tells me to use Chrome, Opera or Firefox to be able to use all of WhatsApp’s functions. Anyone else experience this issue? Is there a reason for this limitation or am I doing something wrong?

I am using this on an iPad Pro with IOS 12.2. I use it connected to various decent WiFi’s with my phone connected to the same WiFis. I’ve gotten it to work. Because I have a keyboard on my iPad, it’s useful when it does.

However, what I find is that when I start using it after some idle time, the conversations are very slow to load. Now the menu that lets you choose conversations load very quickly. So I know it’s working. And usually, if I have the patience, a conversation loads after a while. It’s just that that time to load can be 5 or more minutes. Once the first conversation loads, I can switch between conversations fine.

I don’t get this at all. It might be the adware is slowing it. For example, the area where the conversation goes has a big ad for the Mac version of DualMessenger with a link to it. (A link that, of course, you can’t use from the iPad.) Who knows. It just doesn’t work.

I don’t know if I’ll continue to try and use this.

Hi thanks for taking the time to make this application, as the developer for some reason doesn’t seem to accept that people want to use it in this form factor. I have had some of the lag issues experienced by others, including when selecting a contact it doesn’t really select and I send messages to the wrong person. I now know you need to double tap. The main request I have is to be able for DualMessenger to appear in the send to when in other applications, like can be done from the phone. Is there a way that can be done using the API that you are accesssing

I’m pretty sure DualMessenger is mostly just a web browser that is stuck on the “WhatsApp Web” web page, but even so it’s more convenient than using Safari.

But unlike the real app it doesn’t do notifications, which is a big drawback. It also has some UI issues: the fonts are really small and I have to tap twice on any conversation to load it.

But even with those problems, it is the closest you can get to a real WhatsApp experience on the iPad, at least until WhatsApp releases a “real” app - some day!

WhatsApp is certainly a fabulous and wonderful format, especially when calling & messaging loved ones across continents. I found it quite difficult to learn & navigate in the beginning & still struggle from time to time. That said, I certainly recommend it, as I try to aquatint myself with my occasional struggles & shortcomings. I’d like to find it a bit more user friendly from the get-go, but it has made some wonderful communications very rewarding.

DualMessenger works amazing with whatsapp web but unlike windows desktop app, it doesn’t get notifications for incoming messages when DualMessenger is not in use. Other than that I enjoyed using whatsapp on my ipad and writing messages with the keyboard. Sharing files became very easy. It was very beneficial for my workflow as I could switch apps really quick with shortcut keys and didn’t had to pick up my phone to use whatsapp every time I had to.

Was looking for an app that would allow me to view and reply to Whatsapp conversations. My sister, brother and I use the Whatsapp to send messages to one another because we live so far apart and to keep costs down from texting. Before downloading DualMessenger when using my iPad and a Whatsapp message came through I’d have to go find my iPhone to check them. Now I can check them without that nonsense. I would consider DualMessenger a COMPANION to the actual Whatsapp with some limitations. It doesn’t alert me to a new message, but then I usually hear my phone”ping” which notifies me of a new message. I haven’t figured out how, or if I evening can, attach a picture to a message via DualMessenger. With that said, it frees me from having to get my phone to check a new message and I can use the larger keyboard on my iPad instead of the tiny one on my phone.
So far I like DualMessenger . Just remember it is NOT an app developed by Whatsapp.

Good to finally have WhatsApp on iPad but wait there’s no notification for new messages so unless you want to keep checking DualMessenger frequently for updates this won’t help much! Also, refresh takes its own sweet time and at times just doesn’t happen in which case only option is to you have to keep quit DualMessenger and restart. Giving two stars cause at least I am able to get messages on iPad instead of logging to a browser each time.

Hello, great work on DualMessenger I just have one question is there a way for you to get notifications on iPad and number to appear on top left of DualMessenger icon? I have the setting enabled on DualMessenger and there seems to be no setting in the notifications section on the iPad settings itself.

I know this is like a mirror from the web application so does that mean that notifications cannot be sent since this is technically not an app?

I am so happy to be able to send WhatsApp messages from my iPad. It used to be a frustration when I was using my iPhone for something else, to see WhatsApp messages coming in. I had to log out of DualMessenger I was using to go into WhatsApp. Now I can work on my iPhone or iPad and still have access to text messages, voice messages, phone calls, or video calls. Thank you to the developers.
