I downloaded Nebo to follow a friend doing the Triangle Loop. It worked great for the first two days. Now, it can’t load the map. I downloaded it again, and that worked, but now it can’t find his boat name in its files.

I understand Loopers use Nebo all the time. Perhaps it doesn’t like it used on an iPad, although that would seem an obvious flaw.

Sorry, cannot recommend such a buggy program.

I’ve been tracking a close friend of mine doing the great loop for the last six months. this app has been great until about a week to 10 days ago when this app apparently changed. The format is different and I no longer can track my friend aboard “Seaview”.
I’ve tried reloading Nebo but it’s still not working like it used to.

I used this app to see when Great Loop boats were headed my way. Then I would reach out to see if they needed anything while in my area. Then Nebo changed. I can no longer look at the maps to see where the boats are located. Maybe I dont know how to use the new app, but it has been very frustrating for me. this app has become virtually useless to me. Also, I dont know anyone, who can help me with it. Any help would be appreciated.

I was using this happily for a couple of weeks to try it out before subscribing but since the last update, if Nebo loses the GPS signal at all, it fails to reconnect and consequently doesn’t track the route. Even when ending the route it won’t update to the current location, instead defaulting to where it lost GPS. The phone tracks the GPS location fine (as verified on various other mapping tools) but this app seems unable to reconnect to GPS. As such, it is now useless.

In the beginning, this was a great app. I had recommended to others. But then things changed and now the logs aren’t accessible unless you purchase an annual subscription. Went from having access to logs to where it only holds three months worth of logs unless you spend money. It is like they decided to hold your information hostage. Disappointing.

The new update no longer lets me add a Title to my Voyage. I name my voyage with my departure location and my destination so I can easily find my logs. The new version showed that I went 0.4mph all day long and that the winds were 0.4 mph all day. This version also eliminates the ability to see how fast other vessels are going.
PLEASE ADD THEAE FEATURES BACK!

this app is slow to pan and zoom, even on an iPhone XS. Very awkward to interact with.

And the “Your voyage has stopped” alerts are super annoying if we stop and anchor out for lunch. I want one voyage per day, not between every anchorage.

The alerts every few moments makes my phone unusable while this app is running and we are stopped.

Great concept for a niche product. Unfortunately, it is bug ridden, fails frequently, and requires device restart to work again. Nebo interface is not very robust, and there are many missing, but obvious features.

Maybe if they keep raising prices, Nebo will be improved.

Everything was fine up until the latest update. Now I regrettably tried searching for a particular date using the start date and end dates. The end date was two years ago. Now I cant get anything beyond that end date back, no matter what I put into the start and end dates.

Been using this app for 3 years and the recent changes have significantly increased battery drainage and privacy concerns to the point that I am looking to de platform .
Originally it was simple and did what I needed I hope that they return to what made them successful rather than the current version 👎

I really want to use and love Nebo. Unfortunately, once you save a voyage, you can’t really do much with it.

Where is the export to GPX? That would seem like the obvious next step. Instead, voyages are completely captive to this app’s ecosystem and how they choose to present them.

Would also be a lot better if you could zoom and zoom out on friends trips and locations. The maps are so zoomed in I can't tell where they are. I end up going on google maps and typing in the name of the nearest town but that won't work if they are out in the middle of the ocean.

This is a great app for someone who likes to keep track of activity on the water. It’s easy to use, just a start and stop toggle and everything is automatically logged.

I hope in the future that Nebo will provide provisions for logging engine hours and fuel consumption.

We used Nebo daily when aboard our boat, and will be using it again soon when back on board. Great way to track your voyage, and also to share info with other boaters, near and far.

Stellar customer service today when I had a problem with an outdated login method.

Seems to drop my location and speed all the time. I can be moving 8 Kts, and it will show zero.. then when I pick it up, it flips up to 8 again. Put it down, and it goes back to zero.. maybe caught 70% of my trip today.. hmm. Bad gps in my phone?

One of our slip neighbors recommended Nebo, back in July. Starting using it immediately & never leave the slip without starting it up to log our voyage. It’s awesome to be able to see the current weather conditions & then a track with speed changes during the voyage. It’s totally hands-off until you end the voyage & are offered the opportunity enter engine hours (great feature!) The thing that I probably love the best, is receiving the email with voyage details in my in box by the time I get back to the house. Give it a try & you won’t be disappointed! Response from the support team was very timely & extremely helpful as well!

The newly released version of this app is absolutely great. With the AGLCA burgees added and the new chat feature, this app is even better than before and I loved it then.
We use this app daily in our route planning and journal entries. Plus their support personnel is tremendous.

We purchased this app as a way of creating logs automatically. I learned about this AGLCA. Best money spent. We bought the physical device that went on anytime the boat went on and started moving.

Perfect as you don’t have to worry about logging the trip everything‘s done for you.

Another cool feature that I like is to take pictures when we’re under the way and they go into the daily log that we share with family.

A lot of bang for the buck.

Such a great tool for finding friends on boats and for having an electronic log. We’ve used it while going the Great Loop and it was a GREAT tool to use. Friends at home we’re able to track us to know when we moved and where we were.

Nebo has constantly provided the location of vessels I follow.
Additionally, the search function provides an efficient way to locate any boat by name.

I love Nebo. It is a great tool to visualize where you are on the waterway and allow family and friends to track your travel. What would make it perfect? Mile markers on inland rivers but that is likely well out of scope.

I’ve been using Nebo since May and, as with all new ones, some improvements would be welcome. That won’t stop me from using it as I think it has great potential for individuals or groups to locate one another while underway, apart from each other, in different directions. It’s been very helpful for me as a SOLO boater or Loopers to keep track of their trips. Your “ship may disappear” on occasion, but there are work arounds for you to “find” yourself again. This doesn’t preclude one from continuing on with a new voyage the next day though. A forum would be very helpful for users to exchange their experiences with one another. Keep up the improvements.

Good application for finding fellow loopers and travelers. However sometimes we, and other boats disappear for days at a time. Overall, nice tool for travel.

We have the actual Nebolink installed in our boat. Since our boat was wintering far away from our home, we were able to monitor our battery voltage with the Nebolink which helped us discover the boat had become unplugged. I love that this app sends me both daily and monthly summaries in a format that is much more complete than I could ever do on my own. It was also great to be able to locate and communicate with other Loopers on our recent voyage through Canada. Love Nebo and highly recommend!
