too sloppy to justify its demand for subscription

2022-04-28

I will never consider paying for an app that will send push notifications for a credit score change and only display that change within a tab after a boring, long infographic of your credit score over time. You don’t need to see this, however, because the home screen will just keep displaying your old one for weeks (months? who knows how much longer it will be). I also get notifications to see what caused the change and when I open the app and try to open the message it takes me nowhere.

I can’t conceive of a reason why I would fork over money to experience this annoying app with all 3 credit bureaus when it can’t even manage to display an accurate score from one of them on the main home screen of the app for heavens sake.

At this point in time I am more satisfied with the FICO credit check offered by my credit card app (for free) that does nothing more than show my score. It does what this app apparently places below their subscription sales pitch: provide up to date information on the main homepage with no annoying frills and shoehorned animations. It is frustrating how little this app needs to be acceptable and yet it somehow fails to meet them. How can you send push notifications asking me “have you checked your credit score recently?” and dump me to a homepage with month old info, making me seek out my current score if I do actually wish to check it?

Not that great

DONT BOTHER: I just checked my score again only to see Experian reporting that I have an insufficient number of accounts reporting on time payments. All my accounts are current. After spending a F$&@ing hour trying to figure out what these lowlifes are talking about, I learned that I have 3 accounts reporting to Experian, all are current. It’s not that I’m missing payments, it’s that I don’t have as many accounts reporting to them as they want so they are punishing me for it! These guys need to disappear off the face of the earth! The other two credit bureaus are responsible. These guys are not!

Update: I have to drop a star. The more I use this app, the less information I actually get from it. Experian shows I have a score of 634 while the other two show 707 and 714. If I try to figure out the difference, I am met with a paywall. Want to know why your score went up or down? Paywall. Want to know anything about your own personal credit history? Pay for it. I fully recommend Credit Karma. Free is free. I recommend this to view your Experian credit score only. If you are looking for features I would recommend Credit Karma. Experian wants you to pay every month to use simple features like a credit simulator, where those features are free with Credit Karma. Both apps are useful as you only get your Experian score from this app, but Credit Karma has Trans Union and Equifax scores, as well as free features and functions you won’t get here.

Experian is the worst

Experian will lower my credit score for no reason. All my payments are made on time, credit usage will be low, not one thing will be done differently and yet they will lower my score.I will check my score with the other two majors and it will be up but yet experian sees fit to lower it. And they are always recommending that I get a new credit card from one of their partners. But their partners charge an annual fee and interest on all purchases. And their “boost” is a joke the other two majors have my score at a higher level without having a “boost”. They constantly tell me that another credit card may help my score but when I got another card they lowered my score. They more than likely lowered it because the card I got was not from one of their “partners “. One day after emailing them to point out their BS they dropped my score 6 points and deleted my boosted account. This is an update; one day after writing the above review, experian dropped my score by 14 points! Another update; the first time I was critical of experian they dropped my score by 6 points and deleted my boosted account. This occurred the day after sending them a criticizing email.
