I have to agree with many of the comments here related to Jimu and registration. This seems like a really great, cool idea of a toy, but Jimu simply does not download on most devices, the registration process is pathetically bad, and trying to get help is non-existent. We are trying to persistent and figure it out, but I expected a much better experience for a technology oriented company.

This company just pretty much ruined my 7 year old Christmas. We have been unable to get Jimu to download anything - including the instructions for building the robot. I keep getting a “failed download” message. I have tried several Apple devices to get this to work without any success. Considering the number of users that have experienced the same issue, Apple should consider the validity of Jimu and its compatibility with Apple products.

App good but toy has so many missing pieces!!!! In the end we had to be creative and find pieces from our existing lego collection to complete the robot then once it was completed, the Bluetooth could not find it!!! We had fun building it but it is sooo disappointing that we can’t make the robot work. Also, the kit was sealed and looked notMal on the outside but once you open the box, we were so surprised to see that the pieces were in ziploc bags!!! What the heck!!! Is this a return and they tried to resell it????? No wonder many pieces were missing!!! What a disappointment!!!!!

The robot is fine, but Jimu doesn’t let you do anything. I tried to make a simple moving robot, which I was barely able to do because Jimu requires that you use all of the motors, and it could barely drive. It can’t drive staring and is locked in one speed.
If you are looking for an easy to use buildable robot, buy a lego mindstorms set. This isn’t worth the money

So excited to open the Champbot kit on Christmas—only for it to be a non-starter. Downloaded the this app app on a brand new iPad. That’s as far as we got. The instructions will not download; keep getting “download model error.” And there are no instructions whatsoever included in the box, so we can’t even build the robots, let alone operate them. Disappointed is an understatement. Completely unusable $100 gift if Jimu doesn’t work!

I’m in the middle of building the unicorn robot and now I have to go back 20 steps because Jimu told me to do one thing and it actually meant to say another I would have much rather preferred on paper directions

At first I was thinking I love this but then I got further on! NO! I was building the unicorn I couldn’t find a piece and both me and my mom had to pull things out with our teeth that how stuck they were , you can’t pull anything out it was stuck in there and wouldn’t move then at the end when put it together it would just fall apart!

I’m still working on putting it together but when I try to make an account it says all my email accounts don’t exist

I don’t like the newer controls. Maybe you can add original mode so It’s easier for some people to understand. Other than that it’s great 👍

This educated me a lot and I learned. I had a super cool experience and I have been having lots of fun! You shouls definitely get this! (The download bugs MUST be fixed becaue I had no problems)

I just built a robot in under two hours with my kids and was able to program it's four servos and sensors. Both daughters (11 and 12) love this little guy. Packaging A+, Bluetooth A+, Speed A+, Fun A+, Engineering software and hardware A+!

I can’t even find the pieces to the buildings, I was trying to find a thing that looked somewhat like a SIM card. Please improve this. I do not like this at all. Never mind I realized each one has a specific one to make

I bought the unicorn on it is it was very fun to build a say during COVID-19 I think we should try to get a reminder for the screen and just try to build it and a right after you’re done you can download Jimu I think you can download And him it’s really fun you can name it and it’s really fun I am I’m just learning how to control it mean my dad just spent until like it’s midnight right now it’s like midnight and we are still building this will probably not gonna be done until 2 o’clock but it’s really fun I just wanted to write a good review about this because I want everyone to have this and it just really fun and sometimes if you need a fun laughing you need to get your family together you can buy one of these my cousin is a boat day but I wanted beI was just jealous of how the amount like I have the unicorn is it like how they control that and I was just like oh no like I want it so bad so I got mine I’m happy now I’m not like furious with them and I’m not like mad but overall this is really fun so I insist a lot and sometimes it can be a little frustrating but overall

Jimu took a bit to load on xmas day on our son’s iPhone 5c, but our more current iPhones loaded Jimu no problem. Later in the day we were able to load Jimu on our son’s phone.

The directions were almost as amazing as the robot itself! I wish more things in life were this easy!!

...Oh, and to watch our 8-year old engage in something other than video games for hours on end is worth its weight in salt!

Hope it all worked out for others that were having issues, this thing is pretty cool!

This is a good app and a good robot it has given my daughter confidence in doing the things she loves and perusing her dreams to become a programmer! I really enjoy watching her play and I hope that other people feel the same about this amazing robot! 😉

I received a kit to build a this app robot, and as soon as I opened up the box, I was extremely excited to get building. After I built the bot, I downloaded Jimu , it was pretty quick and straightforward. Now I’m controlling my robot all around the house to grab the TV remote for me and bring it to my bed. This is an amazing app and I really recommend it to everyone!

I just got another robot and it is the best robot brand ever not complicated at all. Love Jimu because Jimu has instructions saves plastic. Nothing wrong at all. I love that you can create your own actions. I love this app ROBOTS, they are incredibly sturdy with very powerful motors, I love building them over and over again, and never get bored. You can even build your own creative robot!

this app Customer service is spectacular! If I have a problem occur with one of their products then they are there to help me every step of the way until it is fixed.

Jimu is so compatible I’m able to use it on my phone or tablet. It would be so fun if Jimu included games and augmented reality.

Many of these reviews giving one star and disappointed comments, didn’t realize that they were one of Im sure thousands of people trying to do the exact same thing at the exact same time...all day long.

The servers were overloaded and nobody could do anything! This was incredibly frustrating and to be honest I do wish that there was a building booklet (like LEGO sets) but those booklets would easily be over 100 pages.

Around 2am last night I tried Jimu again and everything downloaded in a few blinks of the eye! I hope that those who left one star and a poor review will come back and give a more thoughtful review as this product is amazing!! Maybe this app should’ve thought about their servers being overloaded, but I think more so that people need to realize they are not alone, and that thousands of parents had the same “unique” idea of buying their child a this app.

So, the robot is awesome! Me and my little brother enjoyed using it. But one HUGE problem named Ank, People Persons, and The Bully. So, I'm 10 and educated to know that teenagers shouldn’t be cursing in the chat. I know you guys tried to include sets for those ages, but if they say words my mom would spank me if I ever said then that's on big red flag. I know u guys have a report button on the videos, photos, and chats. But somehow someway these people are getting away with saying harsh things! That's the reason why I took one star from the review. So here’s the solution: GET A MODERATOR! Mods review the chats so bad words and stuff can't get by. If you don't want to listen fine. But remember that when five year olds start saying the things they chat and they tell their mom's that they got it from this app, you guys will be loosing a lot of users.

The most basic of tasks for a company who sells a coding product.....have an app that works. I can’t believe that on Christmas morning my child can’t use the only gift she wanted. Unreal. Jimu won’t download anything, I can’t register, and can’t even send feedback via Jimu . I have box of plastic bits that are good for exactly nothing.

The only thing that bugs me is whenever I tried connecting Jimu to my robot it would say “No internet connection”
