Some things are plain stupid

The concept is great...I have access to a car whenever I want and return it when I don’t need. Awesome. But the implementation is stupid. Let me explain:

1. When you select a car, it is not very clear exactly how much you are paying. There are couple of rates shown - per min and daily but this could be clear.

2. Before you unlock the car you have to acknowledge there is no damage outside or inside. Leaving aside how one will know about damage inside the car, what is one supposed to do if there is some damage on the outside?

3. There is an option to report damage...great. But one has to enter the name and email and the car plate number. Why?? Udrive already knows who I am and app already knows the car I reserved. It’s not rocket science to prefix the information.

4. But here’s the kicker. Even after you report the damage, you still have acknowledge there is no damage if you want to unlock the car. Huh??

5. Ok. After you unlock the car, guess where you find the keys? In a tray on the dash. Very smart. The keys get so hot sitting in the sun, I literally had to drop the keys as I could not hold them. This is a genius solution!

6. After you end the trip you get an email with your bill....sometimes the bill does not make any sense. The numbers don’t add up. And of course if you call them they have no idea what you are talking about.

7. One good thing...they do answer the calls pretty quickly.

The app is really bad

I had to try 3 times to register and every time I pick something it keeps clicking on other items , so when I click my year of birth 1983 it changes to 1985 and so on and once I was finally done it took my back all the way to the first page and when I edited what I needed everything else was erased ! Now I’ll just delete it as there isn’t any point in trying to register !

Failed to verify everytime

Okay. I’ve used Udrive before and it worked fine. The issue came once my emirates id expired. Udrive asked me to upload my new emirates id and verify again. I did and it said we couldn’t verify you because your driving license has expired. It didn’t. So I was like it’s no problem I’ll upload it again. I did and this time around it said the pictures were blurry or not clear. Maybe it was my fault so I went ahead and uploaded a very clear picture that wasn’t blurry. Same thing happened. They asked me to verify again. I did for the 5th time and it still said verification failed. I the stopped using Udrive because of this issue and found that EZhire and Ekar are much better.

Scam

Nothing but a rental car with a fancy app claiming anyone can rent as long as the person is over 23 years old and have at least one year of driving record back home or in uae. Never download, never begin registration, never give your personally identifiable information- Emirates id, passport, visa, address, phone number, NEVER USE YOUR CREDIT CARD ON Udrive. After you provide all this and ATTEMPT TO sign up, all your information will be on some database from where more scammers will begin to use your information. And they will come back to you and ask hi, please provide a copy of your uae drivers license. Outrageous. Business like this will never thrive. Rta has clear mandate on who can rent a car in uae with their home country license, only those people can sign up and rent.

Pathetic support and information is not updated about other coun

If you are a tourist no need to download Udrive as they want booklet International driving licence and pakistan does not provide it as they only provide a smart card IDP and they do not know about this and their information regarding it is outdated. Also very pathetic support and no solution on Udrive had to email and still their does not listen and its just a mess. Pathetic experience will not recommended anyone to use this. I have just contacted thrifty and they verified everything with my Card IDP and they have smooth process unlike this app.

Horrible customer service

Great concept but horrible customer service. Intentionally vague about rules I suspect because they actually make money off of parking mistakes and penalties. Be super careful, exorbitant charges and penalties and unreachable management.

In response to comment below: you don’t actually care and you were quite literally never there to help. You are only worried about your social media image. You’ve asked me to email you, call you, tweet you, and Facebook message you without any constructive response. So I’m frankly quite done. I actually deleted Udrive a long time ago.

Worst customer service BEWARE

I booked a car upon arriving the wheels have low pressure car. I call customer service they pick up after 30 minutes on wait. They charge you after you reserve the car and as a first time customer I had no idea there's a pin so I called to talk to support team and no one's picks up and apparently you will pay for every minute waiting for someone from the support team to pick up. After the customer service representative picks up i explain to him the situation in English and arabic but he still provides me with no solution and tells me you will pay regardless wheather you used it or not which is completely unacceptable with such poor customer support me having to wait half an hour for them to take my call is not a cost I should bear. This is the first and last time I use this service. If your planning on trying it I advice you to find another service as they are rated 1/10. There's no management and no one responsible.

Awful processes

I booked it first time and paid practically for all twice

1. They write in Udrive that stuff tell you what to do on petrol station. BUT I paid in cash on petrol station because stuff told so, and system take my money again for petrol. (and unfortunately I lose receipt). So they provide bad service in that area, because they can’t explain what to do

2. I booked it for a day, but I push button «finish trip» in the middle of the day (it doesn’t ask to confirm it and in most carsharing this button means pause, not finish). UPD support told me that return money for me

3. In the end, the take money for parking even if I park on private parking. I do not understand why. Even if I find it in terms. It means wrong processes

App Needs Serious Updates

Absolutely horrific experience with Udrive. I downloaded Udrive to have a more efficient experience than booking taxis constantly.

I reserved the car and was dropped off to it and when I arrived I slid the bar to unlock the car… and the car doesn’t unlock. My friend and I tried multiple times and every time Udrive just closed on itself instead of unlocking the car.

We searched Udrive to find customer service and there was no direct contact point. After searching through google to find a representative to talk to they didn’t answer and we were left unable to use the car in an almost deserted area trying to find a taxi.

COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME.

Great but needs to control other user

Been using this app, for almost a year now. Been loving it but hopefully they give attention to drivers hoarding the cars and it should not be tolerated. I booked an AVAILABLE car in Udrive at Expo Dubai (going to their parking is a real pain and not to mention it was freaking hot) only to find out that the previous customer had brought along with him the keys of the car. How is it even possible to end the trip and walk away with the key, making it completely unavailable to use for the next user even if s/he booked it fairly. Called customer service, told me they cannot simply ask the previous customer to return the key since he will still use it later. 🤷‍♀️ I got a compensation for the inconvenience but i hope this experience won’t happen again.

Unpleasant experience

Udrive is very slow, and most of the time the service is unreachable, this is my first time to use it, when I tried to locate a car it took me 40 minutes to unlock the car, when contacting the representative also it’s either the lines are busy or no one answers. It’s very difficult to find a car for daily use. And the prices are expensive to such service.

Errors after app update!

Udrive some times gives the error “cannot connect to server”. Can’t rely on Udrive completely, it may leave the user stranded. Call center simply repeats “sorry for the inconvenience”. Even when you’re completely registered to Udrive , this happens. Some cars are also not in the best condition. With several warning lights on dash, which is a safety hazard. They may have to do a monthly maintenance check.

Changes

All the cars should have both options, per minute and daily. Not only daily. Because sometimes we have a lot of cars on the location that we need, but is only daily. The reservation should be longer than 15 min. And should have more cars on JLT area.

Gps

You need to add GPS for the cars . Other then that it’s really cool and great idea

I had an amazing day driving with clean and ready and high end car from this app
I would recommend it and I use it more as it’s more comfy and best price

A really very cool concept

I was quite sceptical when I first downloaded Udrive . I soon learned however that it is a great concept that works really well. It’s very well priced and super convenient provided of course there are cars available. Thumbs up.

The best choice

this app is my best choice of renting acar in Dubai, it the easiest and fastest experience that you get during your trip without hidden costs or useless negotiations.

Great option!

I have used this app twice now. Both times were a great experience, it is the perfect option for when we need an extra car. Way less of a hassle than renting a car.

Long standing customer

this app is a life saver! I have needed a car since mine died during the pandemic. I’ve used Udrive over the past couple of years and been very honest and transparent with my likes and dislikes. Sharing ways that Udrive needs improvement, in addition to sharing thoughts and ideas for general service upgrades, has been appreciated by management. I have been asked to be a BETA tester, which has also helped Udrive with improvements. THANK YOU this app!!
