So Far NOT So Good

Connected doorbell today and things seemed fine at first. I was able to watch the first two missed recordings no problem. From then on, the recordings just show a black screen. The numbers are moving to show there is playback but the screen is black. I even went back to the first two recordings that were ok and even they show black screen now. Sometimes when I click on the thumbnail just a picture shows up instead of playing the video. The videos also show up in fisheye instead of the square screen in live view. I will give it another week to see if it improves.

Worst customer service ever

It was working fine until I had to change my Wi-Fi because the old box broke. Now I can’t reconnect. I also got an iPhone so I really seem to have problems now. In my opinion this device seems to be extremely outdated. I think I’m going to buy a nest because it doesn’t seem to have the problems that this one does. I don’t like the fisheye lens you can’t really tell who is at your door when you watch the video. So I’m done. Done with Remo

Distorted, slow, and will not reset

I have a long struggle to get RemoDoorCamRemoBell to work correctly. All the video is pixelated and distorted, it’s default is a terrible fisheye view, and now I can’t get the doorbell to reset. The photos on RemoDoorCamRemoBell preview here on RemoDoorCamRemoBell Store completely lie. No video from the doorbell actually looks like the photos that they present. They are either circular fisheyes or distorted green pixelated screens. I was excited to buy this bill because of the price and the video storage, but there’s no point in storing video of distorted pixels. This is without a doubt the worst smart home purchase I have ever made. I will probably replace it

App Doesn't Work

The longer I have had RemoDoorCamRemoBell installed and have been using it the less it functions properly. The first thing to stop working was the playback of the videos. Now I can't delete any videos from RemoDoorCamRemoBell . I have deleted and reinstalled RemoDoorCamRemoBell and powered my phone off and back on until I'm sick of it. There is clearly a programming flaw and for the doorbell cost the least your programmers can do is fix RemoDoorCamRemoBell . Without RemoDoorCamRemoBell , half of the reason for having the doorbell is useless.

Let’s talk performance enhancement.

From other reviews, the desired performance enhancements aren’t part of your development team’s updates.
1) Why is this (Apple) version forced into landscape? I’m sure plenty of users would like the option to hold in the hand normally when viewing live video, which is portrait.
2) Why is playback video fish-eye in display? I’m sure most users would like the same (non fish-eye) presentation option as live view.
3) Why isn’t live video and audio save-able or at least viewable for longer? I can’t be the only user that hates it when watching an event live suddenly stop and go back to the main menu,

These are all possible “performance improvements” that could easily be accomplished in your next update, especially the first two. Why not get these into the queue? (Review will be updated then)

Feels like a beta product

App has crashed multiple times in my first 24hrs. Unstable. Also, during live video person at door can hear me but I can’t hear them, even with phone on full volume and nothing muted. Yet When I replay the video back, I can hear the visitors audio clearly. And RemoDoorCamRemoBell only allows the annoying fisheye view for all stored videos, but allows you to view live video in non fisheye format.

Can’t hear and something else

I hate that you have to hit “talk” to hear the audio. What if I want to just look and listen when the motion sensor goes off. Also when I have my Bluetooth headphones connected the audio still can only be heard if I put my ear to the phone. How do you listen and look at the same time? There needs to be both a speaker setting and the sound should go to my headphones automatically if they are connected.

The other thing is can you make it so the recordings last longer? When someone is out there the recording stops while they are still there. The motion sensor triggers again. Even when I am looking at a live view it turns off after a certain amount of seconds.

If you have update internet don’t bother it doesn’t work with 5ghz

Their app didn’t support dual band internet upgrade I have.
I can’t get my internet provider to allow me to adjust my internet settings. I can no longer use RemoDoorCamRemoBell. It doesn’t work with faster internet 5ghz it only works with 2.5ghz.
When it did work it would pick out half the times I got drop off and then ding all night long with bugs and traffic. Not sure what the fix is for that but it made it very frustrating.

Sometimes works as expected

Frequently closes app after opening from a notification. Then requires 2-3 tries to get it to open. When opening app normally(without responding to a notification) it also frequently freezes and needs to be closed manually then re-open until it does work. Do not like the recordings showing the 180 circle vs the stretch square view as default.

Ability to delete video

When I first downloaded RemoDoorCamRemoBell , it would not save my user id or stay connected. Perhaps after 2 iOS updates, it’s finally saving my user id, but now I can’t delete old videos. RemoDoorCamRemoBell seems to freeze up no matter if I try to delete one or multiple videos. Going to ask for help online for app support gets me nowhere as well. I like the camera and video quality, I just seem to have had APP ISSUES FROM DAY 1.

Remo +S

So far after 3 days I find RemoDoorCamRemoBell functional but unstable. Deleting videos and switching menu options to quickly causes RemoDoorCamRemoBell to crash. So I have been trying to go slow with each selection.

On the plus side set up worked perfectly and you have good control over preferences and pulling up video. I feel like once I get the sensitivity dialed in the Remo + S will be a very good buy.

Cannot view videos anymore

When I first got it I was pleased with it, there is some lag time for alerts but after the last update I stopped seeing the saved videos I missed. It will only say when someone came by but there is no attached video in the history. Checked my device and connection and working fine, only RemoDoorCamRemoBell is not working as before.

Very late video, continuous false alarms

Newer: After Support told me how to tape a card on Doorcam to partially block the IR sensor, it’s working acceptably. The server performance has improved. New: Yesterday I got 40 false alarms from cars driving by; we need a way to mask out the street. Previous: I just got an alert from Doorcam showing a Fedex truck driving away. It does not show the driver on my porch delivering the package. This happens quite often, a delay of many seconds. We have high-speed Comcast connection, so the problem is with Doorcam’s servers.

Just purchased. Initial review

I just purchased this device this week and just installed it.
Out of the box, the camera doorbell was very easy to install. I downloaded RemoDoorCamRemoBell and was able to get the Wi-Fi set up quickly. However, after using it for the first few times, I don’t understand why in playback mode, I can’t adjust the view to be rectangular opposed to fisheye. I know the application has the capability, because it does it for regular camera view.
Can you please set up this option to review recorded video in normal rectangular mode?
The recent update has fix problems with deleting and application crash. So this is a great step forward.
It seems you have a few more fixes and it will be great. I would like to be able to set the pre-roll of recorded video to a few more seconds. Also, add that feature to make recorded video rectangular as a standard option.

Door cam

It worked for a few days then started getting w:8 error and couldn’t view anything for about 2 days. Called support and it appeared to be fixed then it happened 4 more times so my free 30 days went quickly when I couldn’t use the product. It’s excellent when it works except for the battery life. They said they last up to a year but that’s not true. I’ve bought rechargeable and regular batteries and get about 2 weeks tops for both. AND it does not notify you if the battery is dead. It would be nice to get a notification when the battery dies so I can know, instead of just guessing.

Great affordable and no subscription but terrible cloud fisheye format

I just installed a Remo Cam S. I love the fact there is no monthly fee for cloud recording like the other doorbell camera companies. The problem with Remo’s cloud storage is, you are only able to play back the cloud recordings in fisheye format. All the recordings are skewed and distorted into a circle. The engineers at Remo said “hey, let’s make all the recorded clips look like they are being viewed from the bottom of a soda bottle” Just let us play them back like the regular square live view..
I would recommend this bell camera for its live view feature. Works well live. Someone hits the button and you immediately get a notification on your phone. When you Click the notification, clear square image of who is at the door. Cloud view is awful. If you want better cloud view, go with the other subscription based bell companies . Come on Remo, fix the fisheye.

Doorbell

Your product is good. The camera is better than any ring doorbell model. The only problem I find is the alert sound is general. While I find your alert sound way less annoying than the ring… Which is Jarring. The one advantage ring has in this area is the doorbell is different then the motion sensor sound.

Suits my needs

RemoPlus is an economical solution for anyone wanting to see who’s at the door and if your package has arrived. It seems to record in 29 to 59 second intervals, then closes and reopens if motion continues. It is actually an ingenious way to operate, because it allows you to save or delete segments. It came with everything needed to replace our bell in a brick wall. At first we thought it was not compatible with our 40-year old wall chime, but wifely analysis determined that our wiring job was wrong. The diagram should indicate two wire thicknesses. I would love to see an update including a motion (not bell) pause because we currently have two weeks of construction activity setting off motion every few seconds! Voice and motion have what I consider an acceptable 1 second delay. I’m happy with my purchase.

So far so good. Easy install and works just fine. Great product for the money. I have had it for several months now and it has worked perfectly. Meets expectations and more. I couldn’t be more pleased with Sound, quality, color, camera have all worked well.

When I saw more 1 star reviews than 5 star reviews, I knew it meant one thing...RTFD. Read the f’n directions. I didn’t even put the batteries in until it said to. As a result, it has been working perfectly. I assigned a warbling tone to indicate notification and it’s sets off within 2-4 seconds of motion being detected. I don’t know about battery life yet but we’ll see. Great so far.
