Dear developer,
Just tell me what’s the use of a dating app that doesn’t show the person’s location?
You see someone but you have no idea if they are in Los Angeles, Vancouver or Italy!
Is it THAT difficult to show user location?
It’s the basic functionality of any dating app.
Just imagine Uber without a location. This is that bad if not worse.

Dear developer,
You keep asking people to send you emails.
What I’m talking about is a generic and basic issue of Sheytoon and has nothing to do with me or how I use Sheytoon . Here’s the complete bug report for your convince.
Hopefully, you can fix it with your next update.

Bug Description:
There is no location in the majority of user profile. Some people write it themselves in the description but Sheytoon itself doesn’t give a clue where the user is located.

How to reproduce:
Open Sheytoon as a user and swipe on some user profiles. You’ll see that they don’t have a location.

Acceptance Criteria/expected outcome:
Open Sheytoon and swipe on some users. The user’s location should be visible somewhere in their profile.

Alright. Based on your response, it looks like you intentionally hide the user location hoping your app users get more matches by not knowing where the other party is.

This means you have no respect for the people’s time and will. You only care about increasing your user engagement.

Having pretty much avoided dokhtar Iroonis all my life in an effort to not play into the hand of social & family presumptions, I can now confidently say I WAS WRONG TO DO THAT. this app has shown me that dokhtar irooni is my only perfect fit- someone with the same foundational values and appreciation for depth that I haven’t been able to pinpoint with Sifeeds, Indian/Pakistani, or Arabs.

Sheytoon is a little rough around the edges but I’m 100% content with that because IT IS FUNCTIONAL, which is more then you can say about Tinder/Bumble. Sure it’s buggy- but the developer is very accessible and attentive (responded to and RESOLVED my issue within a few hours). There’s no over-engineered algorithm that complicated what should be a simple process of browsing and liking.

Very happy to have signed up though I was doubtful at first: looking forward to a fuller heart by being able to share and flex my irooni side more with people who understand the essentials... like tarof etiquette, Haji Firouz’s face, and Moein.

Love the idea, but poor execution! Asks for a lot of information for your profile, but none of that is used to narrow down the match pool... although that might not matter anyway. I set my age range to 28-34 and was receiving options waaay outside that range. Feels like a waste of time when you’re swiping through people that are in no way a match for you — no way I want to date a 20 year old or a 50 year old at my age 😬. I’m not even sure the location preferences really work if the age range I set doesn’t.

10 months ago, I re-downloaded Sheytoon I had heard about years before. After searching for local matches I decided to purchase the premium subscription. Not even a week into it, I matched, well I actually messaged my soon to be fiancé 2000 miles away. Best decision I ever made, even though it’s still brought up on a daily how I forced myself into her inbox 😂

I’m hoping it starts working again but serious needs a lot of work. I haven’t been able to get on it all day. Hopefully the little bugs are fixed soon otherwise I will be deleting Sheytoon.

Downloaded Sheytoon recently and so far it seems alright. There are some features that it does not have and the first day I experienced a freezing issue which resolved after I deleted and re-downloaded Sheytoon , but overall it’s a good concept. Also, not yet sure about the quality of matches because I am still new to this. With that said, there are a good number of well-rounded, attractive, and professional people.

The whole purpose of a dating app is to get to see the person you match with online in real life and build a relationship that can possibly last.
Sheytoon removes the location and distance from profiles and it literally trying to randomly match some people that probably live even in different continnets just for the sake of having more signups and selling people the big lie of finding someone in Sheytoon that can be more than a virtual guy/girl for youself. This is a completely scam platform that runs solely for financial purposes.

Whoever built Sheytoon clearly only had one goal in mind- make money. Sheytoon is slow, poorly executed and you have no idea where anyone lives unless they actually state it in their profile. Local to Sheytoon mean someone who lives in a different country! You have to pay to see who is nearby you??? You get 5 likes a day on the free version. The developers are greedy and really have no idea how to build a worthy decent platform for Iranians to meet. Instead they implemented stupid questions such as your favourite food & charge extortion prices for an app worse than Tinder.

Mediocre app. First response to my inquiry for an issue was as if I am talking to a Baazaari (بازاری) which means no respect and abrupt. For someone who is in The US , they should know what customer service means. Sheytoon itself malfunctions and deactivates you all the time.
THEY CLAIM thousands Of MATCHES weekly. Do they even have tens of members who are paying for membership let alone be able to match with someone. THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING

I will be contacting the Los Angeles DA (district attorney) to see what rules there are for false advertising. I bet they don’t even have 10 matches a month

This is by far one of the most buggy apps I’ve ever seen. The user interface being horrible is one thing, but the bugs really are bad. The messages screen is embarrassing. You tap on one person and it takes you to another, and many times you get a notification and you have to scroll and find the blue dot, only many times that new conversation or new match (you have no way to tell the difference) is scattered in with the rest and sometimes an account that’s no longer even around.

It’s a mess.

As much as I want to support it and give it a 5 stars, it upsets because it never works. I also change my phone to iPhone Xs Max and it doesn’t even log in or let’s you log in. The problem is logging in with Sheytoon is only subjected to Facebook users. If you don’t have a Facebook account it doesn’t let you log in. Yes, it’s 2018 and everyone has a Facebook account but Sheytoon doesn’t communicate with Facebook. It errors to “ Sheytoon is in developing stages and can’t access user...”

It’ll be great to fix it if you can.

Also, you can’t really do anything unless you pay and buy it. It’s not expensive. But it’s like Persian cheap, if you ask a none-Persian person, they would say it’s expensive. Lol

Also, it doesn’t really work great when you’re building your profile. It’s an amazing idea but it needs a lot of work and problems solving, Sheytoon is full of bugs.

As an engineer, came a cross few problems with the way Sheytoon is developed. The “report” tap is so close to the super like button and because its poor resolution, you could easily super like someone that you’re trying to block!!!! This happened to me!
Also Sheytoon cannot filter on close range members only. Dragged the slider bar to “mostly close to me” and i see profiles 600 to 1500 miles away!!! If they wanna charge members to show them potential matches, then they have to give us a working filter!

It’s a good app, user-friendly and so much good features. But guys, if you’re not Persian, I highly recommend you to stay away from Persian girls, specially those who were born in Iran and moved to other countries. They are a bunch of selfish girls with a lot of mental problems.

Sheytoon has way too many fake and inactive users with either blank profiles or random picture of their dog as the only profile picture. What’s worse? These profiles don’t get removed by this app . Sign up for bumble much better chance of dating persian girls. Location setting is also is a bit off... sometimes in local setting you’d get matched with people in Iran !!!

Been on Sheytoon for a couple years now. Connected with so many people and it opened up my eyes - many other potential candidates for a long term partner out there than my immediate circle I know. Good job guys, thanks for this huge favor for the community

After my previous review, they listened and fixed the issues. Sheytoon now provides the distances of people you view. Now I can say it is a totally functional and good app. 👍🏻
Definitely recommend.

A well designed platform with a worthy community in comparison to the other dating apps.

But this app has to swallow the fact that “Long Distance” doesn’t work! What’s the point of swiping right on someone you’d know there’s almost no chance to meet up anyway?

Many times locals are not locals! This distance measurement is kinda faulty & still showing you people out of your range.
Be more specific! It’s cool to have an option to meet up with Persian people all around the world, but let me know if I have to book a flight to have a hang out w/ my date or an Uber is just fine!

I have had a chance to use Sheytoon and think it has the potential to be a great one in Persian community. I see where Sheytoon can be improved and I am sure the developers are working hard on it. Thanks

I couldn’t find a way to unsubscribe Sheytoon. It automatically charged me one more week! Then I contacted them by email and they responded immediately with the solution!

So I’ve deactivated my account in Sheytoon and it is supposed to not show my profile to anyone anymore. But after a month I received a notification that I got matched with someone! I was not using Sheytoon during this time.
Apparently it is still showing my profile to the people who previously I swiped right on. I don’t know if it’s a glitch or something… But this is highly unethical!

There are a few things Sheytoon needs help with. As someone who works in software, you’re welcome for the feedback (I also can’t give feedback through Sheytoon - receive an error saying “can’t send e-mail”)

First and foremost, there HAS to be an unlimited option/pricing package. Not even unlimited super likes or whatever they are - but unlimited regular likes and DM’s? There’s a limit on that too? Very frustrating, there’s too many limitations on an “dating app” where I’m supposed to find my match...

Secondly, messages get lost. I message people and they don’t appear in my messages? This has happened a couple of times.

A location feature would be ideal - to let me know where people are located... I’ve seen others post this.

There should be more information input available, description, more text boxes, whatever it may be. More about one another/interests.

If I “super-like” someone they re-appear in suggested profiles and such.... shouldn’t appear again after that?

Good app. Very good active base of users. The membership helps you see who has liked you so you get to narrow down who you want to talk to. Met many interesting people, would recommend if you’re looking for a khastegar
