A small treasure

I’m not entirely sure exactly why, but this game was a lot of fun to play. It just seemed like it “clicked” for me (point-and-clicked😬). The music was nice, though a bit repetitive. The navigation was spot-on: movement was fast and precise, interaction with objects was a breeze, and tools worked as they should on the first try (yay!). The puzzles were of average difficulty. Many of them had to be solved sequentially as they depended on each other for certain clues, but that seemed to add to the feeling of being on a journey. I also liked that not all objects had immediate application upon discovery; some things you found at the beginning didn’t make sense until later in the story. Additionally, some puzzles at the start couldn’t be solved until much further into the tale. For me, this helped give the game a bit more complexity and a somewhat satisfying feeling as I finally figured out how to solve that puzzle that I nearly forgot about. Certainly one of the more enjoyable of this genre that I’ve played, I whole-heartedly recommend this game and would consider investing in some of their other ones.

Simply a must-have

Syntaxity,

Since finally trying Blackthorn Castle last year, I was thoroughly impressed by the lack of glitches, smoothe gameplay with a functional and easy to use User Interface, explorative setting locations, challenging yet not too difficult to beat, quality graphics, realistic style, sound effects and music as well as the adventurous nature of these games. One after the other, I tried each game and delightfully found the same satisfaction in all (current) six.

Then, you released your bountiful update for the Lost Ship, which was originally much too short. Now seeing the pattern of adding similar updates and extra content, in order of original release, I eagerly await more to be released.

If I had to describe these games, in as few words, I would say they are honestly must-haves and instant buys for this genre. If a new game were to be released, I would buy it as soon as I found out about it. Having them all up to now is not enough because they are so satisfying. But there's more.

I discovered an interesting alternative to their replay value. Sure once you play them you might get tired. I liked Blackthorn so much I kept replaying it, but with an unexpected challenge I put to myself. Memory. I've repeatedly played them several times each as a way to stregthen my memory

So, I look forward to each new game/additional content Syntaxity releases. To be honest, you couldn’t release add-on or new game content fast enough.

Thank you.

Great Adventure!

Really like this puzzle. Very addicting. Definitely worth the cost. No obnoxious ADDS!!!! About the same cost and much more enjoyable than an equivalent cost of a cup of coffee. Much more involved and interesting than the relatively short/easy room puzzles. Lots of challenging puzzles to solve. Try to solve them without the hints but sometimes a little overwhelming and a hint gets you over the hump. Totally worth the extra dollar for the skip to parts of the map feature as well as the extra dollar for hints (and video reveals if you need a hand getting by a roadblock). Don’t be cheap with these, I promise you they are worth the $2. Now, I’m bummed that I have to try to find something as good. It will be tough. Happy hunting!

Good app for a Clean Screens

If your screen isn’t clean, the smudges will obscure some of the clues that are well hidden.

For first time users - great puzzle app (5 stars). For people that buy TheLostTreasure and then try to let their family share in the fun - not so great (3 stars).

5 stars if text can return once game is reset. I solved the puzzle, but after I completed it and gave my wife my iPad, she had trouble. //Spoiler alert// The text boxes stopped showing up. Clues about a sturdy pole, vines, a loose branch, the old coal mine, etc didn’t appear. Even the text about not needing to go through clothes that were not going to fit, or about the sign saying keep out but you don’t think anyone will mind, a strange keyhole all stopped showing up.

Reseting and playing in another language did’t do it, restoring purchases, or even deleting and reinstalling didn’t work. Unless she downloads it onto her own phone, she really won’t be able to solve things without touching the screen in hopes something works.

Is it a money-making plan, like buying hints or paying for fast travel? I don’t mind paying for something I know I need to pay for, but this seems a bit odd. Just wondering if that has been addressed, or if other apps are in the forefront and this one is just fading away? Not inclined to get more apps if this is how they all play out.

Wonderful game

Another fun game from Lone Wolf. I've played and enjoyed all three. Beautiful graphics, good controls, labeled inventory. There's a map but not transporting so there's a lot of back and forth but with the very fast scene transition, it goes quickly. I don't mind the back an forth as it's good memory exercise for me. There are a LOT of locations but still not too many like some games I've tried. Good puzzles, some are pleasantly easy, some more challenging, (you need to look VERY carefully in some scenes), it has an integrated hint system, and the game is quite long especially for the price. Overall, a very satisfying , well priced game. Thank you, Lone Wolf!

Quite a challenge!

This game had a lot of very different puzzles to solve. You never know when you will have to go back to a much earlier screen to unlock a chest or use a clue or item you’ve collected. One item is used in a couple of places so you have to remember to pick it up and carry it along.
This game will take some time to solve. Can’t tell you how many time I picked up a key or gained a clue and then had to wander around trying to recall where I needed a key or where that clue might help. If you like a challenge and don’t mind spending hours on a game, this one is for you!

Lots of Puzzles

I like this game. Like the other Syntaxity games, there are a lot of puzzles to solve; even more so in this one. The puzzles are fairly challenging, but hidden clues and a little thinking should get you through without hints. The map is large, and if you don’t purchase the “fast map” option, you will spend some time backtracking and roaming, but I’d rather have that than a short, finite environment. Overall, Hunt for the Lost Treasure is a good way to spend a few hours, and measures up well to Blackthorn Castle and Enchanted Worlds, two other Syntaxity games I like. This game isn’t at the level of the Room and House of DaVinci games, but it’s a perfectly decent point and click puzzler.

Fun

The fun puzzles and with the fast travel and hints (you have to buy each for $.99) game doesn't get bogged down in searching for locations. Graphics are okay, nothing like The Room, but still imaginative and pretty. The music adds to the overall experience as well. Never silly or annoying! The puzzles are a bit too easy and I wish they were more challenging. But over all, I enjoyed playing and will search for another game in this series.

Not fun

I've played a lot of games like this, this is one of my least favorite. The one thing I do like is the rapid travel from one scene to another although having to purchase that is crappy. This game is would never be winnable without having the clues book directing every step (again, having to buy that is no good). The map is so big that workout the direct travel it would be impossible and, the map makes no particular sense as to how it all fits together. Some of the puzzles were straightforward but some needed even just a tiny clue of instructionmi only solved this due to heavy use of the book and the video clues, which makes the game much less satisfying, and I cannot recommend it.

Set brightness on high

Some of the puzzles, especially toward the end and the last one in particular simply cannot be seen on the iPhone unless the brightness is at the highest level and even then a magnifying glass would be useful. The clue on the tree with the four Aztec symbols is way too small to make out the important details between them. It would be a good idea for the developers to go through this game on iPhone and perhaps either enlarge the detail or improve the contrast in the critical clue places where the tiny screens of our phones require it.

Nevertheless I enjoyed the game. Thanks.

Not as good as others by syntaxity

Did not enjoy this game as much as the others by this developer. Maybe it’s the fact that I’ve played all the others by now (except Treasure 2) and it seemed repetitive. But it also seemed very confining in terms of the area, the scenery. While there were a great many screens and a lot of running around, it all seemed very closed-in. And too many of the puzzles didn’t make sense or were too convoluted. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Still need to play Treasure 2 and I am not looking forward to it as much as I was before playing this one.

Best, ever!

WHAT...are you sitting here, reading this for?? YOU ARE SERIOUSLY WASTING TIME...GET GOING! This is such an EXcellent game!! I admit, I had to FIGHT my way through, pulling of hair, gnashing of teeth, etc.! But, would you really want a game with ANYthing LESS?? HELLFIRE & BRIMSTONE, NOOOOOOO!!! CLASS *A* CREATION!!! Which I totally THANK the developers, for!! Hate to leave YOU behind, bud, but there's a NEWER GAME by this developer on my horizon, so that's where I'll be. YOU can be, too...IF you have patience, an open mind, & say...THERE IS NO 📦! You may still be right behind ME, but you'll be happier than a 🐷 in 💩!

Excellent Game!

There were a few moments where I was stumped, but overall with a little thinking the puzzles were fun and easy enough to solve! I didn’t have to purchase hints, which, by the way, are VERY reasonably priced if you’re someone who gets frustrated with the puzzles and desperately needs a clue. The graphics were beautiful and the game is easy to maneuver. I would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone!

Enjoyed the difficulty and length but...

Despite my persistence and effort I did need to consult the online walkthrough more times than I would have liked. Most puzzles are solvable without this but there are some that I just couldn’t figure out (such as finding firewood and the final puzzle, which I had to actually watch the video walkthrough for, several times). But definitely prefer a challenge over a game that is short and easy. It helped that this was my third game in this series. On to #4!

The best of the best!

Other games of this type are frustrating because they make it too hard and illogical. But these game writers are different, the puzzles are logical and while they are not easy to solve, they are not extremely hard. I have definitely relaxed and challenged by them! Truly entertaining as it should! Highly recommended !

Challenging and fun!

I played one of their other games first and needed a lot of help. After playing that game, I now get how this brand works. This time it was easier for me to figure them out but they were still challenging. It took a bit of time start to finish too, which I always like! Definitely recommend!

Challenging Game

I enjoyed playing this game but I ended up purchasing the hints and quick travel map points. I was really glad they were reasonably priced. It would have taken me a long time to complete the game without them. There were a lot of map places and I couldn’t always remember which locations needed what items. If you really like a challenge and have a good memory this is a great game.

Fun

Nice, fun game that causes one to think. Really liked it because it was clean, nothing ghoulish, or evil. One skull on a desk was all I saw. I really appreciate games like this. So, so many I pass over because the reviews mention that it was scary, or gory or has some hint of death or wickedness. No one needs that sort of junk.
Well done!!!

Brilliant game hours of fun

This game is just hard enough to make it challenging but not so hard that you're lost within the first few steps. Well worth the price. Loved it. I love all the Syntaxity games. I’d say they’re medium level of difficulty. Which makes it fun and not annoying.

Loved it

Loved TheLostTreasure . The puzzles were not too hard to solve except the one in tree where you have to swap tiles to create a picture without having the target picture in view. It took me around 5 days the complete the entire game playing one hour each day. So overall a good length.

Challenging & Entertaining for Anyone

The games, in large part, are very challenging. I found that when I became stuck on a puzzle, after 15-20 minutes I would close the game and return later. Within a couple of minutes, I had solved the puzzle. Sometimes, the obvious eludes us. Thanks to the developer, I have really enjoyed these apps.

It’s a good one

One of the better games of this type. Really makes you think. You have to pay extra for hints and quick access to saved points on map. If you choose not to do that, it makes the game take longer to solve, which I like.

Bright and Breezy

You will breeze through this charming game!

Pros:
1. The graphics are bright and realistic.
2. Navigation on my iPad worked well. I had no glitches.
3. It’s not dark, scary, gloomy, haunted, or magical.
4. The built-in hint system makes getting around easy.
5. The puzzles are so simple that a smart 6 year old can play.
(tested on an actual smart 6 year old)

Cons:
1. The puzzles are so simple that a 6 year old can play.
2. Most of the “clues” that you find are actually answers.
(see #1 above)
3. Using the hints it took me about 3 hours to finish.

It was fun.

Thumbs up

One of a very few developers that make such creative and well made point and click escape games. Every aspect of each game is thoroughly thought through. Mini games are fun and challenging. Wonderful “fast travel” option helps not to get lost in wondering around the locations while trying to find the clues or return to them, as well as does the “snap shots” option. I’ve given the same 5 star review to every Syntaxity game I have played as they are all excellent!

Will work you

For a novice like me TheLostTreasure is pure work. I can find no logical sense of clue direction from one puzzle to another and with this many rooms to cover I find the difficulty level high. If you’re looking for a magical evening of exploring and fun mystery this may not be for you. Finger puzzles are easy, atmosphere music and graphics are great. Creators put tons of work into this game. For ME, I was wanting a game to sit and relax with, this one makes me work way too much. If you’re in to that you’ll love this game. I couldn’t progress without online help.
