NJ 101.5 - News Radio (WKXW) Reviews

As other reviewers have said, the current ap has much to be desired with respect to integrating commercials with programming. I’ve contacted the station a few times and was assured they were working on it. One small example is when I try to listen to the station before 6 am (I usually turn it on at 545) most of that time is filled with commercials. Each time I open the ap I have to listen to one of 2 really long commercials. Then at least 4 short commercials follow. This never changes. It wastes time and it won’t even let me blank out my screen because if I do it shuts down And I have to hear it all over again. It’s frustrating and I find myself not wanting to tune in at all. It’s probably time to move on. I don’t need this first thing in the morning when all I want to hear is traffic, weather, and news.

Time to delete. App is only way I can listen to this station but if you set volume to hear the news it blasts you out when a commercial comes on. Diff commercials have different volumes. Have emailed them about the problem twice and called once and THEY DON’T CARE. No response so bye-bye.

Love 101.5... listen everyday. But already listen to too many ads on air... Harry’s razors, solar, csi group. Gets very old very fast. Now I have to listen to more ads on NJ1015 . I’d rather switch and pay for satellite radio than continue to listen to commercials every 10 minutes. Radio station used to be so great years ago. NJ1015 was a good attempt but again I can’t stand the constant ads. Lots of loading time, lots of crashes. =( Will give it a few more tires but unlikely to keep NJ1015 unless the commercial / ad nonsense is removed. =\

The most recent version of NJ1015 breaks the station streaming. We were able to listen up until the iPad said an app update was available, then after the update, when you start to stream the station, it shows the commercial, then APPEARS to start streaming, but all you get is dead air. We love this station, but it’s hard to pick up over the air, so streaming is our only option. This needs to be fixed!

NJ1015 is horrible. You are forced to listen to 20 min of commercials, news and weather non stop. They the hosts talk for a few minutes then back to commercials. We have many many options to listen on the go and no need to sit thru that nonsense. I don’t need to know what the temps are in every city. We all have weather apps to check if we choose. Thanks for not trying to keep our interest. I am out!

I used to really enjoy listening to this station but now only infrequently listen for traffic, weather and news. The hosts, particularly morning hosts Bill Spadea and Dennis & Judy have become far too slanted in their pro Republican/Trump opinions and anti vaccine rhetoric. I am open to any other views but the hosts are quick to slam all who disagree with theirs. So goodbye to you 100.5 ; other stations are what I listen to now; you lost both me and my husband as listeners.

I realize that Steve was not on today but very disappointed who you had on. Sorry but a guy that uses a air conditioner for 2 weeks and returns it, is not Someone I can relate too. If you can't afford an air conditioner, deal with the heat. Love everyone else

Love the idea of NJ1015 , but it’s constantly dropping. When you reload it you have to listen to the commercial again, which is rather annoying. When it works it’s a great app. Hasn’t been working for more than a couple minutes a time the last few days. Please give us a decent update so I can listen to some of my favorite radio shows

For someone who lives in New Jersey is this the perfect app and radio station. They cover major news world wide and then everything is New Jersey. They cover from the tip in Sussex county to the tip in Cape May county. Really wonderful job. Covering everything from weather, to opinions and even politics!

I used to be able to pause/play directly from Bluetooth. That no longer works. And dear god, the same Barbara Corcoran ad over and over again for months at a time is just torture. I immediately turn the volume off. I get there will be ads but at least switch it up.

The late August 2021 update of NJ1015 looks to have changed how much data is pushed out. I found myself running out mobile data about 1/2 thru the billing period - this thing will eat ~200mB in an hour or so (used the iphones cellular data app summary report to figure it out). I now ONLY use it when connected to Wi-Fi. Really miss listening in the car tho…

I am officially giving up. I have called the station twice and I had emailed. NJ1015 used to be great but now every time a commercial comes on it starts buffering. Every 10 minutes you have to close NJ1015 and open it back up after the commercials are over in order for it to work. So annoying cannot continue to do it. I’m switching to 1057 The Hawk for now. Please fix this

Is Robert Dekansky the owner of 101.5? It sure seems like it because I can not spend more than 30 seconds on NJ1015 without his advertisements covering the screen. Beyond annoying

Love the content but trying to use it is frustrating. App is too large and has too many updates. Seems every time I go to use it I need to wait to update!

Truly do LIKE 101.5 especially Dennis & Judy and Big Joe’s jokes on his weekend shows however NJ1015 ! Waaaaayyy too slow!! Opens ALL kinds of advertisements that open first and I have no interest in. They totally slow down the entire viewing process. Just CANNOT get to the story/article I’d like to view.

Can’t listen anymore. Sooo many more ads than the actual radio broadcast. And the Rob D. video ads hold you hostage every time. Please! And now I can’t even read an article before NJ1015 goes bezerk and starts opening pop ups and a “Your a winner” click here add. No, not for me. Force shutdown and over the Google news or something else.

Bill Spadea is such a moron, why does he get so much air time? Let’s give this platform back to intelligent conservatives who don’t spend all of their time complaining about how awful the state of New Jersey and the US are. Not to mention all of his discussions are very poorly researched.

way too many ads (and always the same ads) that have to be watched every time NJ1015 is opened. I prefer iHeartRadio stations since I can just start listening (and use google assistant voice!)

The old version was better I’ve tried different things and I still can’t listen live it all started with the new update. The version before this new update worked better and I love listening to big joe Henry and right now I can’t. Please fix the problem.

Listening on the radio is annoying. Soo many commercials, even embedded into traffic and weather there are ads. I like the hosts but never get to hear them. I tried NJ1015 and even more ads. Video pop up ads etc. switching to NPR.

Love 101.5, but ad buffering is insufferable. Please fix it. I don't mind the ads as long as I don't have to keep restarting NJ1015 . I'd even pay to remove ads.

Well i downloaded NJ1015 just to listen to the radio portion as 101.5 is not on any of th other apps [IHeart radio or Tunein radio]. I open NJ1015 and right away get hit with a video add then right away a audio add didn't even go any further closed and deleted NJ1015 .

For the past week NJ1015 just stops playing and I have to restart it again. It’s getting to the point where I’m restarting more than listening. Frustrating.
